[Q] Issue with Installing Angry Birds on Rooted Nook Color - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys - quick question on Angry Birds (its driving me nuts!)
I just rooted my NC running 1.2. Everything is working fine, except for Angry Birds. When I try to download the app from the android market, the download finishes and then i get a prompt that installation has failed.
Same thing when I try to install via ASTRO - i get an installation failed prompt.
I have tried everything: check and uncheck the 'allow non0market apps', installing with the SD card mounted/unmounted, clearing cache, you name it!
The stupid thing is that I have been able to install rio from the market, but cant install the original and/or the seasons.
HELP!

Temporarily removing the SC card should allow installation.

Tried that as well - doesnt work...

Any help on this? some apps are installing like a charm (dropbox, Angry Birds Rio, Fancy Widgets) while others like Angry Birds (original and Seasons) and Live Holdem Poker Pro are not installing.
Im going crazy trying to figure this out!

See below but for Android market browse to the /data/com.goggle.anroid.app.maps/cache on the SD card and then follow the steps in first and last posts.

I used the ES File Explorer which is free from the Amazon App store.

There's a QR code that you can scan that will take you to the market if you don't use app brain (which you should).

Please unmount the SDcard first before downloading and installing via market or whereever (as per first post)
If loading from a apk file - start the apk install, pause before pressing the INSTALL button, unmount card form settings, go back to install, press button and volia!
You are so great, Thank you!! Works great

newbie need help please

i trying to download and install angry birds but wont let me it will install other apps but not this type i have bearly learned how to root hd2 to android with froyo rom but if u know how i could install angry birds please let me know
Have you tried reversing the polarity?
How do i shot phone?
Try reading some of this first.
Catch bird. Make bird angry. Insert bird in phone. Repeat process.
Angry birds installed.
Cookie.
You can try installing using adb from your computer, or terminal shell from your phone.
Basic adb commands... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517874
Uninstall previous versions... Using root explorer put phone in read/write mode. Then try installing.
Best to learn how to deal with this early. You'll be doing alot of app installs, and some of them will be manual. Hope this helps a little.
1) This thread doesn't belong in the development section. One of the local mods will move it shortly.
2) You need to unmount your SD card before installing angry birds (and a small handful of other apps). I'm not 100% why this is, but I've installed angry birds several times already, and it always requires that step first. Go into settings, then the SD card section, and you'll see the option to unmount it there. Do that, install the game, and then just go back and re-mount it.

[Q] problem: apps fail to install from market

hi, i installed mdeejays android version succesfully, however some apps fail to install via market.
for example angry birds and the latest facebook app. the smaller apps will install without any problem. but the important apps wont. what can i do about this?
i read something about unmounting SD card. i tried that. But still got the problem.
What should i do?
I really want the facebook 1.5.0 app
tnx
Do you get an error or do they just stuck on 100% after downloading?

I get an error. But sometimes the download just cancels itself.
however, the main problem is the error. because i could download the apk file via rapidshare etc.
But the problem is the error. the error says after the install bar runs:
Application did not install. (in dutch)
The other problem, with the download cancelling is like this:
when selecting an app for download, the download bar starts running.
But after a few seconds the download bar disappears by itself. so eventually, the app never reaches my phone. in fact the download never completes.
so there are 2 problems. but the first problem is worse than the second.
However, it would be great if you could help me to solve them both.
First problem: i get an error when installing certain apps.
second: My downloads from the market wont complete.
sorry for any weird sentences, english is not my first language.
Kinda glad to know that I'm not the only one with the same problem... still trying to figure out what happened.
I know a clean install will fix the problem but I don't want to go through that again...
My phone is a Motorola Milestone running CM6 10.12.22
i just did a clean install from the latest android out there (darkstone superram 0.1) with the dutch vodafone data mod and i cannot download a single byte from the market. the market itself works fine over wifi or G3, but all files refuse to download.
thing that sucks as well is that i have the apk for applanet on the sd card but a cannot get to it as the darkstone lacks a sd card explorer app....
When that happened to me, Market reported an error -18. An online search recommended deleting a hidden directory ".android_secure" on the SD card. I'm running CM6.1 on a CDMA Hero with most of my apps running from the SD. From what I found online, that secure stuff is for Froyo apps2sd... which is why some apps downloaded and installed okay, and why some apps downloaded, but failed to install.
You can also try some cache dumps including Dalvik. Run "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager. Then try the downloads again. If that still doesn't work, you might want to delete the ".android_secure" hidden directory.
Make sure to do a Nand backup and copy the contents of the SD card onto your computer before attempting any fix. Play it safe.
Good luck.

Game Problem in MiniCM RC1

I don't know if anyone else has this but there are a lot of games that won't start on MiniCM. For Instance, Angry Birds, NinJump etc. I've fixed these by uninstalling and downloading again from market. I came from Racht's 2.3.3 CM7RC4 and these apps were backed up and restored by Titanium Backup. Does anyone have a guess as to why?
You have to delete all your files in the '.android_secure' folder that's in sd card.
Then it worked for me.
Hey,angry birds wont download on my minicm.its just angry birds...other apps are downloading normally..
.any fix for that?
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
It's common issue that angry birds doesn't download and there is no fix so far as i know.
Just find it somewhere to download .apk and install it from sd card
Just wipe the dalvik-cache in xRecovery -> Advanced option -> is ok.I tested before.

App Installation Help

I rooted my NC running 1.2 using ManualNooter-4.5.2 whenever I try to install an app that isn't from the B&N store it says to archive and try again. Also whenever I search for an app like angry birds on the android store it doesn't show it just a list of other not related apps. Please help a newbie out.
