Bored waiting for O2 UK update. Want to flash.

Hi guys,
As most of O2 UK customers, I got stuck on 1.43 and it seems it will take them some time to release 1.66 (but who knows that? it might be 1.45).
So, I decided to not wait and have a try to cooked rom.
- If u r with O2 UK could u help me to do it step by step please?
- which rom wld u recommend.
- I know I void warranty but before I send the phone to repair I can put back
there my 1.43 firmware and everything is ok, am I right? Cld u send me a link to O2 1.43 firmeware just in case.
- any advice and help is welcome.

o2 stock rom is in "leo official roms " thread, first post - first link - 1.43 folder.
no one can tell you what is the best rom.just be happy that you don't have a tmous so you can flash any rom you want no danger.
try some, and stick to what works for you.

Does this rom contain o2 logo and settings as the one I am currently using?

Yes, as it's lablled o2...as with the VF one and T-Mobile UK ones

I wld still appreciate step by step info for newbie how to flash my HD2 with for example Artemis.
Is there any comparing of all cooked rom, which one is the fastest, the best for internet etc.

1 instal hspl2, choose any version , , 1.66.HSPL or 2.08.HSPL probably, doesnt really matter so long as you choose one with HSPL in the code.)
2 flash rom of choice
3 if required flash correct radio
How to flash - put rom or radio .nbh file in a folder along with customruu.exe, connect phone to usb (boot to bootloader first if your phone currently wont boot to a running system, like for after you flash the rom but before you flash the radio)
EDIT - If you want to flash back to stock, you can do it by running the .exe, no need to extract the .nbh or use customruu.

no, there isn't.

Here is a link for the default O2 ROM and Radio, it's self explanatory.

Go with WWE 1.66 add Bsb tweaks setup all your bit's and bob's to only manually update and trust me the battery will last 3 times longer than that shipped O2 rom
It generally lasts me about 3 days between charges now..quite brilliant !
I don't know exactly what they have done with the rom but it must be fully allowing power save options
One small point the rom is generic so You may need to setup service provider details, that should not be to hard for You

I ve got vista 64, is there anything I should know before I start?
lets sum up I need:
- 1.66.HSPL or 2.08.HSPL (cld u give me a link pls)
- Rom RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
is it the best one?
- I dont need a radio in this case, do I?
How long will it take approximately to make a phone working in order to call and receive calls 1h?

It takes about 10 mins to flash a ROM, so not long at all.

Yes, me tested this rom on my branded (no more!) t-mob germany device. first used 1.09 (from here) firmware then when finished phone booted automatically to bootloader mode and then flashed this 1.30 rom (unpacked it with winrar before starting to flash). Everything working fine so far :-D

Sorry mate, no idea it it will work for Mozart branded from Orange France, but i can definitely tell u that there was french language to choose when the phone started fresh after upgrade. This 1.30 rom is not branded.
Ok, here is how i got it working for me (T-Mobile Germany Device, 1.25 branded stock rom):
1. Download 1.09 rom from here
2. Extract the 1.09 rom to a folder, let's name it 109
3. Download 1.30 rom (u can find the link in the first post)
4. Extract the 1.30 rom to a folder, let's name it 130. Use WinRar to extract the 1.30 rom's exe file - right click on the file and then look for extract entries of winrar
5. Download ModelID.zip from here
6. Extract ModelID.fig from ModelID.zip and place it into the 130 folder.
7. Reboot your Mozart Phone to Bootloader mode (Switch off then hold Vol. Down and Swith on. Release Vol Down when u see rainbow background)
8. Connect your Mozart Phone to the PC and wait for the Drivers to be installed. You should see USB written on your Phone.
9. Go to 109 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% Phone reboots to Bootloader Mode itself (and ROMUpdateUtility.exe states an error, but well, it seems this error wont bother us).
10. Go to 130 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% you are done.

Edit: To the question about backup - flashing wipes all your data, so u will have to download and sync all the stuff again. I have got an app from the market, it let me download it again i hope at no charge after i signed in with my live id. So again - get all important stuff backed up before u flash.

Since its a European ROM i believe it has English and all other languages currently available to WP7, and i'm pretty sure the t-mob german version have both german and english, but maybe someone can confirm this.

Performance?
This sounds awesome. I'm looking at flashing it but how is performance.
Do graphic intensive games load faster and such?
Is general performance the same or faster?

i'm guessing im going to have to use the gold card/y-split usb cable to install this ROM on a telstra Mozart
unless there is a similar way i can de-brand my Telstra Mozart to the DE then flash to 1.30?
I'm kind of new to the whole WP7 ROM flashing, but have extensive experience in WinMo 6.5 and Android phones.

Sorry I'm new to flashing roms on Windows Phone, may I ask why do you need to de-brand Telstra Mozart though, is it because it's locked (bought it with contract)? I bought it out-right so there's no operator lock, I'd really like to try out this ROM, and post the procedure to everyone

OK trying to install 109 ROM but just get a popup that looks like it can't find the RUU_Signed.nbh. Any ideas?

1. RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.16.401.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
2. RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.54.401.01_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U
3. RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.60.401.01_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
4. RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U (Nodo)
then you can flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous ROM
In case your HD 7 is flashed with a different of the above 1, 2, 3, 4 ROMs but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.401 i.e. with characteristic value 401
then you can also flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to one of the above 1, 2, 3, 4 ROMs
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.70.901.02_Radio_5.64.09.27a_22.43.50.15_NoDo_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.70.901.02_Radio_5.64.09.27a_22.43.50.15_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
Extract the downloaded zip ROM files with an unzip / 7zip utility in separate folders of your choice
C. Flashing Process
In order to successfully flash the provided ROMs you must follow these steps:
1. Flash the ROM of the above (B.1.) extracted zip ROM file
2. After flashing HD 7 will automatically enter again in bootloader mode
3. In the screen of your computer the ROMUpdateUtility will report an ERROR[270]
4. Ignore it and exit from ROMUpdateUtility
5. Now flash the ROM of the above (B.2.) extracted zip ROM file
6. After flashing your HD 7 will boot normally
7. Exit from ROMUpdateUtility and proceed with your brand new ROM
If you do not want them you can delete all operator apps, in order to have more free RAM
Beware, in WP7 deleting an application means it is deleted from ROM
D. ROM Flashing Instructions
In order to flash a ROM follow these steps:
1. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen

Just downloaded the 2 files and when I run B1 rom it gives me Error ID Vendor
My original rom in HD7 was O2 UK and thanks to petbede work I sucessfully changed to HTC Europe...how can I instal this new version?

i have a device from o2 germany... i can flash an htc rom with your signed roms from the other thread... can i flash this rom the same way by using your o2-rom in the first step?

So, yesterday I was able to update to the Europe NoDo ROM but it has the Radio Software Version: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U.
I had to use the GoldCard method however. Can I update to this newer ROM using GoldCard?

It is addressed to Europe operator not O2_UK.
I am working for 3 devices HD7/Mozart/Spark with plenty of operators.

Hi,
Your operator is Asia_SEA with CV 728, except if it was another and you flashed 728 with y cable
This ROM is for Asia operator i.e. CV 707

Is the HTC_Europe CV 401 for Asia CV 707 and does not need y cable just single usb

Hi,
I haven't flashed my phone yet. Everything is as is. just updated it to NoDo. Thing is, my zune Restore only restore it at earlier time with 7392 so I can't unlock my phone.
And since there is no chance of zune marketplace being available here in the Philippines I won't be able to buy apps, I'm thinking of unlocking my phone to sideload everything.

Dear forum members,
An SLSPL ROM is created for HD7 Europe Operator that allows downgrading the Bootloader
Update on 30.12.2011: Two TMOUS users did confirm that after SIM unlock it worked for TMOUS too!!
The process is as simple as of these 3 steps
1. Download the following SLSPL ROM
>. Rapidshare : RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_SLSPL_Signed_by_ansar.zip
>. MegaUpload: RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_SLSPL_Signed_by_ansar.zip
2. Flash the provided SLSPL ROM
>. after flashing the device will re-boot in tricolor Bootloader screen
3. Flash ANY Stock ROM of the HTC_Europe operator (except a 5.10 one!!)
>. keep the provided ROM as your eyes!!

hi ansar , i tried to flash this rom but my phone restarts when its on 1% flashing and wont let me flash , maybe this rom is not good for my phone . my phone specs are : htc hd t9292 , software wp7.5 16gb version. os vers. 7.10.7720.68 , firmware revision number 2250.21.51002.207 , hardware revision number 0002 , radio software version 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U , radio hardware version A.102.0.D4 , bootloader version 5.10.2250.0(131983) , chip soc version 2.2.5.0 . can you tell me if i need another rom( and what rom is this that i have on my phone ) or what im doing wrong? thanks in advance

Let me see if i get this straight....
1-we turn off the phone and boot into tri-color(volume down)
2-we use the ROMUtility.exe and flash you SLSPL
3-again after it finish we boot to tri-color
4-again we use the ROMUtility.exe to flash Stock ROM like 3.1
5-after flash we install RSPL and HSPL
6-flash any custom ROM
????????????????
i need to ask what is the difference between branded and unbranded ROM ?
i live in lebanon...im afraid to do the process and my gsm line wont work again....and is that related to the branded ROM ? cuz guys you say europe...o2...tmous....all are operators....but here we dont have things like this....a operator...who manages the updates and all things...and am confused about 401 666 ....those numbers in ROMs my cell info:

bootloader version:5.10.2250.0.0(132968)

Hi,
Your phone is a 401 HTC_Europe so it is just the ROM you need!!
After flashing the SLSPL ROM you can flash any 401 ROM

now what to do ? when i extract it it have 2 files and both with nbh RUU_signed.nbh and SPL_signed.nbh .......i cant see any exe (ROMUtility.exe) how i can flash those nbh ? thanks for your patience .... i never Flashed WP before

There is a ROMUpdateUtility.exe in both SLSPL ROM and 1.60 ROM
Follow the flashing instructions at #1 post
1st flash SLSPL ROM and then 1.60.401.01

Hi,
Try to flash this SLSPL ROM even without sub/serial message ...
In no case this SLSPL ROM can harm the device
If does not connect or does not fit to the operator of the device
it will simply return an error 214
A user with TMOUS and usb/serial ok, reported that this HTC_Europe SLSPL ROM worked!!
