[Q] Custom rom for tattoo help

hi everyone , i am new here.
i own a htc tattoo wich runs android 1.6.
i see everywhere on the net, people at forums talking about custom roms for android, cyanogen and others as well.
i did search for it a bit, but i do not understand all the things,
and there is too many big red warning text. so i wantet to ask for any help before starting with anything.
what can i do with a htc tattoo on android 1.6 ?
any new features to get ?

hi
i asume u are asking about flashing the cooked roms
for the same u need to first root ur phone their are many stikies on the same
but i have used the 1Click by maverik and it worked for me and yes u do have the risk of loosing ur warranty if u do a root but then u can first creat a gold card and them do the root( i dont know how to do this u need to read on the same ) or u can look for ur orignal rom and save it on ur pc and flash the same if u want to give ur phone for warranty that is what i have done i have the original asia rom with me and i will flash the same wen i need to give my phone for warranty issue i hope this is detail enough

How to unlock HTC HD2?

Ok, I am a noob to the HD2? I have a galaxy s; however, my friend wants me to unlock his HD2 to run android. He just bought it so it is still on windows mobile 6.5. I know this is a nooby question. I have searched a lot but can't find anything. Could you please list all the steps in order please. And can you tell me the best rom. Thanks a lot. Also, please do not flame.

I guess you dont wanna use the search function here, so google these things
1. HD2 SPL Downgrade (If Applicable)
2. Hard SPL2
3. Magldr HD2 install
4. CWM for Magldr install
5. Install Android ROM on HD2

i think this post is really what you should take a look at. its very detailed and should give you all the info & software you'll need to install android to your nand. it is written so that anyone can understand and in simple terms.
then after you install Android a good question to ask your friend would be does he want a sence rom or something else. this website here is the easiest way to search for Android ROMs that are listed here on XDA. i would also click "show all android roms/builds" because there are a lot of older ROMs that are still as great or better then some of the newer ROMs out there. i could suggest some but im sure what i like may differ from your friends so i would take a close look at each ROM from the site listed above. to shorten the list down some for you i probably wouldn't look at ROMs that haven't been updated since like april.
His choices in ROMs would be sence based, a non-sence based like cyanogen or a miui based ROM similar to that of the iphone but with widgets.
unlocking a phone refers to sim unlocking where as rooting a phone refers to gain root/superuser access what is what your trying to do.

2. Did you even read his post? He used the word 'unlock' incorrectly, he meant to ask how to flash Android.

Search harder... if you are having a hard time with xda search... go to google type your question in search box... I bet you'll find your answer and it will direct you back to xda

How to Dual Boot Android and Windows mobile 6.5

hello sorry I don't know where to post this, I read hundreds of threads now so I won't need to start a new thread, but I really can't understand what to do sorry I'm a noob I'm new to this actually I get used to apple so this thing's very new to me,
Let me stop the introduction, Here's what I want to do I want to dual boot my htc hd2 with Windows mobile and Android ( I want the AmeriCanAndroid ) can you tell me the step by step procedures what to do first to successfully do that to my phone?
I read about the HSPL,Radio, and dual boot apps but I can't understand anything can you make it easy for a noob like me to understand it?

Go to the HTC website and flash the latest stock ROM 3.14 for HD2. After this all you need to do is download a ROM from the SD Android section, place the Android folder on the root of your SD card (i.e. not in any folders), go to file explorer, in Android run CLRCAD and then HaReT.

Luckily I'm on O2 UK so I may be able to attach it. I've never tried this though so sorry if it doesn't work.

okay so basically i woke up this morning and decided i wanted android on my htc hd2 .. i had windows 6.5 which is ****ing horrible . i followed all the steps and got the point in the process where the phone ask you to pick the zip file from ypur sd card .. and then it wouldnt work from there ... someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME.

what exactly does 'wouldnt work' mean, , , flashed but wouldnt boot, flashed but hung booting, started to flash and failed, what?

Ha ha ha ha I sympothize with you Sam, but cut them a little slack man it is their first post.Oh and good to see you posting in the forums again, you are one of the best to guide someone out of a jam they got their self into because of noob mistakes.
Now at the OP, Sam is right we need more information to go on like what ROM you are trying to install, what version of Clockwork Mod Recovery you have installed, what version HD2 you have (EU or TMOUS), and if you have your SD card formatd fat 32 or not. You know spacifics. The more info the better your chances to get a solution to your problem.

lol sorry guys about . but basically when it was a gingerbread android 2.3 rom . well atleast it was was supposed to be , my first thought was that the file was bad because it was the part of the process where im supposed to pick the zip file from the sd card .. the update started then it said installtion aborted or file not found . i think i either didnt downloaad the right rom or i did something wrong during the process .
the site i got the rom download from looked kind of iffy .
where can i get a reliable android 2.3.3 rom or a windows 7 rom because i basically have no idea where to.
by the way im new to this so please bare with me on the lingo and stuff like that .. im basically panicing .

OK that is easy just go to the Android NAND development forums for the HD2. You can find the original NAND Android ROM there if you want. But for real all the ROMs there are reliable ROMs.

Ha well to be honest it is not hard to find if you look for it in the HD2 forums. I mean it is labeled HD2 Windows Phone 7 as the name for the WP7 forums for for the HD2. I also know I will probably catch some flack from other members for linking it for you . But hey what can I say I am a nice guy.
Go to the HD2 Windows Phone 7 Development forums for a WP7 ROM and instructions on how to flash it. I also have a guide link in the guide in my Sig if you want to check it out. Also make sure you have a known compatible SD card to use with WP7 before you flash it as you might run into unwanted side effects if you do not. Go to the HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q &A and General thread to find a link to the thread that can do that. Also you might want to check out some more of the threads linked there as they are very informative.

Bloody hell, use the search function! It isn't difficult!
Having said that, this is a complete guide to doing so. And yes, the ROMs tend to be multi-lingual and a lot support RTL writing for Arabic. It should state in the OP if it does.

Google Video is your best friend!
Jayceooi hd2 video tutorials are very clear and simple to follow!
Download the videos and watch them over and over again until you get it!
Once you have had sufficient exposure to the process of installing nand android (like original) come back to xda and read the tutorials just to make sure the information is up to date!
Don't rush! Keep watching the videos until you "get it"!
Download the files needed to flash. Place them in folders numbered to the sequence required for installation.
I know you feel a little inundated now but once you watch the videos it will make sense!

As you are a native English speaker (or have a bloody good translator) you should EASILY be able to follow that guide. I'm 14 and I could, and I had literally no experience of anything like this beforehand. @lunchmoney (lol) jayceooi's tutorials are indeed very good, and show the step-by step-with text + have links to the XDA threads for downloads and he also answers all his questions on his website.

SD roms that load with haret
Do all sd builds load using haret? For example: Could I run ICS beta 2 using haret?
