OT: Is this an X10 in an anime? - XPERIA X10 General

I was just watching a anime called "Health and Phys Ed for 30 Year Olds" and grabbed this screen shot. Think it's a X10? It's the first time I've noticed that they didn't have a flip phone, and there are few phones with only three keys on the face. (Other character have PSPs to play with).

Looks like it!

x8 maybe?
good find!

nha it's an x10
x8 is smaller

The X10 is very popular in Japan, so I think he deserves to perform in an anime

Oh thats definetly a X10. Lol good looking OP.

Yippie my phone's in an anime! But it looks a bit thicker though. Haha.

If you look at it carefully, it looks more like an X8 or mini, because there is no silver line on the side, and it seems as the back cover is covering the sides.

If you look good it's a x10 or x10 mini pro. Just can't see if you can slide it or not.

There is a grey line..... It's an anime is isn't going to be 100% the same, they could get sued over that
That is definitely an x10

Thought it doesn't have a keypad/keyboard?
It's pretty much a slim touch phone similar to the toshiba TG-01/HTC LEO.

Shopping help

Hi guys, I'm writing to you in order to get some advices/experiences. The old handy of my wife is slowly dying and it's time to think bout something new. I'm writing in this section because she is a Sony Ericsson lover and she grabs my HTC Desire whenever she can to play Angry Birds...
The point is that I don't have ANY experience on Sony Ericsson Android models...plus the few of them I could hold in my hand didn't really impressed me at all..actually..let's just say I didn't like them at all..
So..beacuse of our budget I first was thinking to get her a ZTE Blade, which seems worth its cost..but before moving on I would like to read some of your opinions: you that you own this X10...are you satisfied? Would you recomend it?
And last but not least: is it a tough phone? I mean..I know with tecnology you HAVE to take care...but my wife just can't do that: she really doesn't pay ANY attention to her "tecnological stuff" & she's SO MUCH in love with her present handy cause it survived any sort of torture you can put ur handy through!!
So..I could get the ZTE at his full price on eBay...or the X10 with a discount of around 200€ on a local shop...which one to choose?
Hope I didn't brake any forum rule with this..
Anybody there?

When i had my x10 it had a rubber case and it was pretty resilient, the stock screen protector on a new x10 saves the screen some damage but a touch screen phone in the same pocket as your keys is a bad idea.
The only hardware problem i can think of is the microusb port on the phone has a habit of coming loose (although i never had a problem with it)
Regards
Vengeance

Mind you the x10 has got a larger screen, in general feels like a more quality phone. You can pick up a cheap case (the rubber ones not silicone). The buttons on the front are subject to some wear and tear, should be fine if you don’t torture it
There was a guy from India ,he posted his phone which got under a BUS..screen cracked, buttons not working but voila he could make calls, half of the screen was working with touch...if you talk about build quality X10 indeed is on the strongest phone.
and with 2.3 X10 is as par with arc as i know women don't care about bravia display, exmor r crap and all..!!

3 Quick questions: Does the Xperia Play have Glass screen? And...

Ok so here is the thing, I am buying either the Play or the Arc cash in about a week. So 3 Questions:
1. Is the Play screen Mineral Glass under the "Shatter proof sheet"?
and
2. Should I buy this over the Arc? I am thinking about all the great Emulators and a few PSone games (FF7 anyone?)
and
3. How is the build quality in your opinion? I was thinking the White Play would look Nice but is the finish nice and in your opinion does it look high end or cheap?
Thanks guys, I have been struggling with this decision for over a month : /
Afaik, it's mineral glass. I use a screen protector to reduce fingerprints and glare though.
Personally, I am loving the emulators, and the non-emu games are nice too.
However, if you don't reeeally love gaming, the arc is a better overall choice.
Edit: forgot to mention that the back cover feels a bit thin, but overall build is good. Has a fair bit of weight, slider is well made. Build quality of the gamepad is superb. I chose black.
Lots of ppl on the street have commented
Sent from my R800a
my bro has arc and i have play. both are super amazing good looking phones! its hard to decide actually!
in terms of built quality play is very well built, feels nice in hand and the back looks amazing.
arc is slim and more business looking. but still play ahs some advantages over arc. screen in arc is bit better. play has tereo speakers, and you can use gaming buttons in 99% applications(browsing, msgs, yourtube, maps etc..) so thats a huge advantage. and games are awesome! youtube backstab, its a 1.5gb game! go for play!
arc is good too. but play has everything that arc has(-the screen .3 inches smaller) and a lot more.
First when I got the play it did feel a bit cheaper than the htc desire hd I had before. Now about a month later I've grown into it and really like the design and the feel of it. Not bulky at all when in your pocket. I went down android alley to get better gaming and this device just gives the best and at the same time has a very smooth and fluent UI.
My wife still got the DHD and when I pick it up I don't mis it one bit cause this gives me exactly what I want.
About the slider it's well made but can't compare with my Nokia N900 wich is the most solid slider phone i've come across, still the play feels very good sliding in and out.
If you're a big gamer and can't live with touchscreen controls only then choose the play and if you are alright with only touchscreen controls then go for the Arc.
Regards Dousan...
Ohh and for me this is by far the best smartphone i've ever had cause it gives me all what I'm looking for in a smartphone.
Thanks so much for the replies everyone.
I think what it is coming down to is will I play that many games on it...and I honestly think I will. I am a pretty huge gamer, spending around 2-5 hours a day playing 360 (Mostly Black Ops really but doing some Boarderlands Coop recently)
The thing is I have some gaming gear that I simply do not use. Like my PC for example, its the following: CPU i7, GPU Ati 5870, RAM 12gb Trichannel, HDD 1tb, Bluray burner....and I use it for facebook : /
I remember when I had my Galaxy S Captivate though and used to play the hell out of its games. I would play a lot of Genesis and SNES and LOVE the 16-bit era of consoles so I am thinking I will use the Play a lot, hell even when I get a new phone later I would just keep it for a very nice emulation machine!
I think its going to come down to the screen. If I can confirm its glass then I am sold. I would just have a hard time buying a phone in this day and age with a plastic screen >: (
I think I can live with the Auto brightness, but I do hope they patch the phone to let you control it.

I used a needle to gently lift a corner. Once it was up just a bit I gripped it and just pulled. Came off nice and clean, no residue left behind.
After having it removed I have no clue why SE insist on putting these films over their screens. They are so much nicer with the thing removed! Image is sharper, screen is smoother, and touch sensitivity goes up a lot.

Oh yeah. It took a steady hand not to scratch the screen but I just poked under the screen and tilted the needle upaway from the screen and the film lifted. But I will say you need a pretty steady hand (Tattoo artist here, so mines rock steady lol)

Must admit, I had the same feeling after watching that and sticking to my HOX. I'm not gonna cancel my pre-order though, I'm sure I'll love it when it comes.
I'm of the opposite opinion. It's looking better as I see it being handled more and more by reviewers. A big issue with phones this size is usability with one hand. Contrary to the specs it seems the Samsung may actually be narrower than the One X, and the rounded profile will give better reach. I like my One X very much. It's built stunningly well and feels very good in the hand, but even with my good sized guy hands I can just barely reach the ends of the screen as well as the hard buttons at the bottom without repositioning my hand.
The strengths and weaknesses of these two phones complement each other so well that there's nothing between them overall net. (The One XL has none of the problems the One X does since they have different chipsets and screens). Thankfully that glossy battery cover of the SIII can be changed. It's my biggest issue with this phone. If physical usability in the hand of one is much better than the other it will be the trump imo. I think I will return my One X and wait till the SIII releases. Maybe I'll end up getting another One X, but considering how different these two phones are and considering I'm in this for two years (contract) I want to be sure I'm getting the right one.
How funny they've made a magnetic cover for it like what the iPad 2 has.
That blue colour just looks better and better the more I see it. So glad my pre order of the white version cancelled itself lol

Can't say I'm disappointed that it is plastic and not metal. He seemed to drone on about the plastic design. Sure plastic shells can scratch easily, but they stand up better over time than metal ones. I've had several devices metal and plastic, and metal always interferes with signal quality and when it bends, it doesn't bend back into place like plastic does. My TF201 looks terrible with all of its dents and scratches but my Evo 3D with its plastic back and only a little bit of metal around the edge is looking decent (except for the metal which is scratched and nicked.)
What is everyone's deal about plastic? A ceramic coating would have been interesting, but we have already seen the coating chipping off on one model of the HTC One series phones.
EDIT: Ok, so I see I wasn't the only person that found the way he complained about the keys and other nitpicking to be a bit biased and annoying.

stay away from ceramic coating!!! good thing Samsung didnt go there.
I sent my 3d htc one s back for a refund and preordered the SGS3 for that reason alone!!
By the way, flimsy plastic? So what? You scratch it and buy a new one, the phone looks like new.
try to do that with an alloy-ceramic phone.... No chance!
Well,PhoneArena's reviews are really good,as long as you don't watch the videos.

I'd have loved it to be HTC Sensation-style,where you can replace the whole housing apart from the screen in the form of a battery cover. That way you just don't give a rat's ass about scratches etc.
Very annoying. Love the phone. Plastic back is better for radio signal. Drop a plastic backed phone and you will get back a scratched but still very much working phone not like a glass backed device. Very easy to tell an I-Phone fan boy. Could not watch or listen to entire video due to the annoying Fan Boy.
