[ROM][B158][Clean ROM][Froyo 2.2.1][Overclocked+rooted] - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi everybody,
I made a bloatware-free stock Froyo ROM based on B158 which includes overclocked kernel from hiapk-forums.
It's rooted. Nothing special at all but may be useful for ppl who just got their new phone delivered. This ROM will wipe your /cust_data + /data +/system. So use at your own risk and backup important data first (NANDROID).
Everything works as expected.
Credits: stockwell, Huawei, GoAPK, Koush, CM-Team and anyone else whom I forgot.
Download + detailed Instructions

Will probably buy the phone tomorrow just to fool around with it, really appreciated what you did there!
On a side question: the bootloader is not locked on this device or is it?

Me too, hopefully we will see CM7 in the near future..
OK so its in Chinese with no setup, and no Market, so this is a good start but not a complete rom at all. I will go back to the 135 build untill one that comes out that actually is complete and not just one page of apps. Very Very important for me to have Market etc etc..
M..

Works great after changing language and installing happened from cwm. Thanks

I just flashed this rom, and tho it did start with chinese characters somehow it changed to english...dunno how that happened as another poster said he installed a language pack, but mine did so automatically.
as far as the market etc is concerned you need to download the gapps zip using the link the original poster provided. It is an older version of the market and i'm not too sure how to update it...being fairly new to the smartphone scene would anyone care to share???
thanks dibb

you will have to install GAPPS from CyanogenMod Wiki as stated in the original thread (see link on 1st post). Afterwards most GAPPS will update themselves once you are online or use market

getting force close android.process.acore
what i think i did
full wipe
flashed the b158
booted phone and turned off mobile data and set up wifi
booted back into recovery
mounted /system
installed gapps.zip
booted back into phone
signed into google
restored titanium backup
all was good for about 5 mins then constant force closes so bad it was a mission to power off. I full wiped again and reflashed but it happened again??? So for round 3 i am not gonna use titanium but manually download all my apps again and see what happens.
can anyone suggest where the problem may be??

Doubt
Hi everyone, i'm wonder if with this room my Huawei will be unlocked, because my phone it's unavailable for use it with other company, and i don't know how to unlock it. Your room seems pretty good, congrats!!

The Battle of the ROMs

With the surge of some ROMs for our devices, and though they're related between each other to a certain degree (save for CM7), the inevitable question surges: which one has the upper hand? The stock ROM is vastly improved since 1.06 and Ganjaman's add-ons make it more mature, the MoDaCo ROM has the advantage of having been the first modded ROM, CyanogenMod7, thanks to Apache14's work, has made a stellar appearance and we actually get the official updates (such as the ones that mad-murdock presented us yesterday), Corvus has been updating his new ROM quite rapidly and it works nicely, like Fuji-Vega does... We're lucky that we're not in want of possible choices! But which is yours?
Thread moved to General.
For me corvus. It's so quick and stable, and is the only one, where's my usb 3g huawei running. Did I told you, that it's really fast?
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
I agree totally, corvus is so quick. I can't wait until it can be combined with mad murdoch's HC tweaks, the vega will be Ninja then!

@logseman
great idea for a thread. I'm considering starting a thread on a similar line, thought id check in and avoid toe treading and see if there is a need for it.
As a newb to vega android modding, its great that there is such a wealth of info and advice, but sometimes its not clear or comprehensive (at least in one place! )
I'd like to run a "what vega setup is best for me" thread. The aim being to allow users to show exactly what setup they are running, how it performs, pro's and cons, bugs etc.
By using a standard template, we can see what works and why. We can make direct comparisons between setups without searching through threads for hours.
Users can then copy setups and try if they think they like it. Might also provide devs useful concise feedback to help them progress roms / kernels etc.
If it already exists, feel free to point me in the right direction whilst mocking my newbe stupidity, but ive read and re read the main threads and can't see it.
If you're reading this and think it would be useful, let me know, with suggestions and i'll get the ball rolling.
I.A.O.
Edit: if you want to help or collaborate, pm me.
I'm not sure how setting up a "standard configuration" would be of benefit. Primarily because of two issues: first, the same custom ROM can have dramatic performance differences between one device and the other (I am a ROM tester for Galaxy S, people claim battery lives of 4 days which I've never heard about); and second, the point of Android is that it actually doesn't force any standardisation as of now: I don't see why users would tend to a certain set up which has been done by another person instead of experimenting themselves.
Don't take me wrong, I appreciate that you take interest in this thread, but I fail to see the point of your suggestion. Android has no predefined "set-ups" as far as I know.
Yeah, i get your point. For me too its all about modding and tweaking. But i also got the impression that some people just want to get there device configured in a way that works for them quickly.
Im certainly Not saying lets all set up the same, if we wanted that we'd just bite the apple right!
I just think it would be useful to see at a glance what is working for people. I.e - "i need a rom with no lag on my vega - ah looks like cm7 ttrc2 has lag issues", without having to read 178 pages to find out.
I guess it would be more like an "at a glance" guide to roms for each device.
I used Modaco since i got my Mobii/Vega, but yesterday i flashed clockwork recovery and started using Titanium backup for real, so now i am testing some ROMs and sofar i like fuji-vega the most, fast and smooth, only some lag in appmenu when i have the device rooted.
I spent a long time using mcr8 eventually with buzz kernel but I then got bored and tried cm7 which I loved but just could not stand all the lag when scrolling etc.
I am now using corvus which seems to work well for me. I hope to switch back to cm7 when it improves a bit.
I love CM7 on my phone and would love it on the Vega, but the wifi troubles it has at this moment on the Vega made me switch to first Modaco and than Corvus. The only bad thing I can say about Corvus is that I personally would prefer Gingerbread green icons aboive the blue ones in Corvus

I am in a similar position to you. I have only installed Modaco R8 and not really used Titanium Backup nor Clockwork Recovery. I find R8 lags after extended use (requiring a reboot) so I am interesting in changing to Corvus. I have a few questions.
What is the best way to move from Modaco to Corvus?
Can I use Clockwork Recovery/Titanium to ease the pain of transition?
How do I install CWR?
Is it best to go back to stock and then install Corvus? If so, will I lose all of my customisations?
Thanks in anticipation of a response.

You would want to wipe when doing an install of a different rom anyway, so you will lose settings, most will be restored by Ti Backup though.
> I would do a Ti Backup of everything, then a nandroid backup before flashing.
Sorry, how do I do that? I have Modaco R8 with Titanium Backup installed. How do I use Ti to "backup everything", what is a "nandroid backup", and how do I restore stuff after installing a new ROM?
Cheers.
you can find this information quite easily by searching
ti backup press menu>batch>backup all user apps and system data
Then after installing cwm (download zip open
cd /path/to/folder
./install.sh for mac and linux (make sure to downlod my fixed scripts second post)
or
click install.bat for windows
then click recovery app use volume buttons and power to select backup and restore)
wipe data instal rom
ti backup from market
menu>batch>restore all user apps and system data (modaco is similar to corvus so should be safe to restore everything if things start crashing repeat install and untick all apps that are already installed in ti backup)
there you go you have transitioned
sorry if this sounds patronising it sounded like you were a noob so i included great detail
p.s. this will all become second nature after a while
hmmm atm i'm using CM7, and after switching to launcher pro it's so fast !!
adw launcher is such a crappy launcher (sry, my opinion)
anyways, my flash is pretty laggy due to the unstable nightly builds, I mean they're not in the fully power.. but I will wait, <3 cyanogem
I wish we had the HC update soon, rly =(
Ive been using Fuji-Vega since april and applying updates when they become available.
Really happy with it and cant complain. Does what i need it to do.
Very quick to use.
Corvus5 for me right now. it's stable and fast as, with oc I have been using cm7 until a few days ago and will no doubt give the latest a shot before the weekends gone, it now has oc kernel
I can't use custom ROMs because nor CM neither Corvus doesn't let my Huawei e150 connect to internet. When I'll solve this problem CM'll my choice.
CM7 for me. I've tried a few but CM7 just feels/looks slicker.
Will there ever be a fully working honeycomb rom?

[HELP] 3G restarts my phone

Hi everyone,
I recently flashed cyanogenmod 7.2 onto my HTC Wildfire and it kept restarting for an odd reason, I restored back to SplashMOD and it still has the same problem. I've turned 3G off and it seems to be fine, its just when I turn 3G on
Any help?
Maybe you overclocked your phone at 768MHz.... it isn't very stable

It says my phone needs to be GSM (I'm guessing that means unlocked) which my phone isn't. What is a good radio to flash? and do i need to do it before i flash a rom?
GSM means that it's a standard phone that works in any country. ie: it's not CDMA, which mean that it doesn't need special frequencies from the service provider.

like lo2ay already said GSM ("Global System for Mobile Communications") doesn''t mean "unlocked" and has nothing to do wih it.
But in case you didn't unlock your phone - and I'm not getting you totally wrong - this brings up a much more interesting question: if you don't have an unlocked Wildfire - how the hell have you been able to flash a ROM anyway? I'd guess one of the following might match your situation:
- you have a different phone (not a HTC Wildfire)
- you just thought you're going to flash a ROM but did something else instead
- your Wildfire is unlocked and you don't know it
Are you really serious about what you've done? What tutorial/how to did you use to flash Cyanogen Mod?
And yes: if your phone is a Wildfire (buzz) and not unlocked/rooted you can't flash a new radio because you can't flash anything custom...

oh yes - I've been thinking about that for a few seconds - you're probably right.
Regarding my own little problem which I've also discussed a bit desperately here: may I ask you what you would try next with all your Wildfire experience? (I've never been really convinced that the V6 Supercharger or 3G Turbocharger scripts could be involved but after reading that a few people got that bootloop prob with 3G after messing around with them it looked so obvious).
I feared to investigate any further because I had the feeling it could cost a lot of time... so when I went on to solve the problem it turned out I was right with that: I've flashed the 7.2 stable today - with doing just a dalvik and system wipe without success and then a complete wipe - no success either.
I fear to revert back to a true stock rom (including s-off again) as it took me a lot of sweat to do that initially (that has been just in the middle of transformation from revolutionary to alpha rev with all the goldcard stuff etc.) - too make it short: what would you do?
Thx in advance for some input on this...
I would first check my mtd size settings! If you dont know what custom mtds are it means your not using them,if you are using them then you must remember to flash the bravo boot file straight after your rom flash before booting! If this is not your issue then i would do a clean flash of a rom. I.e wipe system, cache, dalvik cache, go into mount and storage and do all available wipes NOT sdcard, then flash the rom. If all fails then i would 1st try a reflash of a custom recovery and repeat previous clean rom flash. Now if it still didnt play ball i would scream at it, throw it at a wall then regret that step and move on to ruu.exe and start afresh lol.
On the v6 etc etc issue. Ive publicly said many times how much i hate this script and others like it! But this is only my opinion as i have had issues using them too in the early days. An app i use still to this day which gives you complete control over the effects of these scripts is autokiller memory optimizer. I will link to a thread i made some time ago to explain this app which can be found on the market.
This again can and most likely will be argued or debated as to its function but in my experience its a must have when used correct.

Sorry i only just noticed your link so my advice was for current op issue. However yes i believe these scripts are the cause im afraid. Still i would give you the same advice again as above or try a clean sense rom flash.
You can get safe ruu flashable zips too so as not to lose security or root so try these before going the exe route.
Hope you get a fix.

Now it's getting really weird... I've just put in a different SIM (out of the family) - different carrier. (the idea came to my mind somehow). Looks like the phone doesn't reboot with that.
If that's true and not by accident - what does that mean now? Usually I'd think about the radio - but I've completely wiped the phone (including a sense install in between) - could this be a hardware problem?
I guess I'll do the RUU thingy anyway. So I'll start to gather information on that.
If anyone has a good suggestion to do that as easy and quick as possible - I'd appreciate any suggestions.
--- EDIT ---
If someone has a suggestion for a small Sense ROM (yeah I know) I'd prefer to do that first...

ICS AOKP ROM for the u8800

This is an AOKP ROM for the u8800. It is ported from Huawei Honor B977 4.0.3. I'd like to know if anyone else has tried this and what they think. It's a chinese rom from the anzhi forums (original thread)
I flashed this ROM just now ( thanks fjsferreira for the mirror), this is my feedback:
- Fast, smooth (on par with Aurora).
- Wifi, mobile data, bluetooth, and the like work.
- No gapps, Play Store, camera, browser...(you pretty much have to install everything yourself).
- No strip unicode in the Mms.apk.
- Popup notification support in the Mms.apk.
- Cool AOKP tweaks (naturally...).
- No theme-chooser (meaning you'll have to stick with the mix of Touchwiz 5, ICS and lots of tranparency that is the UI).
- Long pressing the Home key doesn't show the multi-tasking interface and doesn't take you to the Homescreen.
- The SEARCH key is set to turn off the screen (to revert it to its normal function (searching!), check this post).
- I'll add more feedback information as more people try it and report.

Make sure the system folder fits in your system partition. I think you need to chacge the partitions in order to flash this, but I'm not sure. Our phone's default system partition is 210 mb
Has anyone tried it? Or have mirror?
I would love to give a try, but download time shows me 18 hours...
I have tried the previous ver actually..... Partition is a must, otherwise phone wont pass Huawei logo. Its ported from Huawei Honor ...every thing works well but Home key does not work..... But be aware some time it happens that you cant return to stock partition and you wont be able to Flash official 2.3 or Froyo ROM back.

Actually this version is much smaller (109MB) than the previous (180MB), so it may not need re-partitioning. It has a ".UP" suffix so maybe it is an update flashable only and you need the previous installed, but I can't know since I cannot download it. It just goes soooooo slowwww....

If you guys use something to stabilize the download, like free download manager, speed is always above 800 KB/s (I've just finished my download, took less than 3mins)

Well, just went ahead and tried the ROM. From my 10 minutes playing with it, everything seems to work, wifi, mobile data, bluetooth and camera (camera isn't included by default, you have to install one).
Also, no market by default, you have to manually edit the zip file and include the market apk in it.
Sadly I had to uninstall it after 10 mins because, and I'm seeing this more and more, the dev completely screwed up the UI... it's simply horrible, it's not default AOKP at all... I didn't even took the time to create screenshots, I'm sorry, because it was burning my eyes...
There are some stuff completely in chinese, in the ROM control area of the settings, but overall, you can choose any language that Android includes. Note, while the theme of the UI isn't AOKP, the ROM itself is, with the usual settings AOKP provides,
Performance wise, I saw no difference than with aurora...

Thanks. I reverted to the good old .32 kernel yesterday, so I won't be testing this one for now. However, I'll still update the OP with the links to the latest version and the features/bugs list.

Unofficial announcement of CM10.1/10.2

CM10.1 http://d-h.st/i3V

UNOFFICIAL FAQ FOR CM10.1/10.2
DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION
Q: Where’s the download?A: The initial FXP release had an incorrect kernel – you can download a working version of ROM from here. http://d-h.st/TPT
This ROM has since been updated a download can be located here. http://d-h.st/i3V
If you wish to try a CM10.2 (that’s Jelly Bean 4.3 – have Sony actually released a 4.3 ROM yet?) one can be downloaded from the link above. You can also download the correct version of GAPPS for Jelly Bean 4.3 here. http://brintaylor.info/Android/CM/gapps/
For the CM10.2 build you should use this link to report bugs. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/185s...9UINQ/viewform
Uberlaggydarwin plans to take a 'light touch' approach to support via XDA, so don't necessarily expect an answer to a query if you post in this thread
It seems like FXP have delayed releasing for our device for now, but information about CM builds that are being actively supported and developed can be found in this thread for now.
Q: How do I install?
A: You need an unlocked bootloader and an installed recovery. BACK UP your current ROM to your external SD card. Put the ROM and GAPPS on your external SD card. Boot into your recovery, do the necessary wipes, flash the ROM, flash GAPPS, reboot, victory. Disclaimer: if it breaks your phone, it’s your fault.
Q: Do I need to install the supplied kernel before installing the ROM?
A: No, unlike older xperia models CWM is able to flash both the kernel and the ROM at the same time. There is no need to use fastboot or flashtools to flash the kernel first, just a working recovery and an unlocked bootloader on your phone.
Q: Can I use another kernel instead?
A: No, for now only the supplied kernel will work.
Q: I’ve installed the ROM but can’t find the play store?
A: Immediately after installing the ROM you should install the 4.2.2 version of GAPPS (Google Apps) – this installs the play store and several other applications that Google regard as essential to the Android experience. This can be found here – http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip
Q: How do I update to the latest version of the ROM?
A: Once you’ve downloaded the latest version to your SD card, boot into recovery. No need to wipe your data, though you probably should wipe cache and dalvik cache (I don’t know whether this is done automatically as part of the installation but it can’t do any harm). You don’t need to install GAPPS again as this is a firmware update, not a new installation.
However if you’re moving between versions i.e. 10.1 to 10.2 you should definitely do a factory reset – the ROM may well work fine without a data wipe, but it may not and any problems might not be immediately noticeable (making bug tracking difficult). I would advise you NOT to report bugs if you’ve moved between android versions without a factory reset.
Q: When will they release a version that works on a locked bootloader?
A: Never. Some the features of the ROM simply won’t work very well/at all on a stock kernel. If you are rooted you can simulate some of the features with apps and mods though.
POST-INSTALLATION QUESTIONS
Q: I’ve installed the ROM – I can use Titanium Backup to reinstall all my apps right?
A: Yes and no. They may work fine, they might not – you are better off letting Google’s back up service restore all your apps. If you restore an app using Titanium or similar software and it’s buggy, there’s no point reporting it – re-install the app instead, perhaps even the ROM.
Q: 4G isn’t working – what do I do?
A: It’s not enabled by default on CM10.1 so you must do the following.
Go to the dialpad/phone.
Dial in the this number: *#*#4636#*#* (This will bring up "Phone info").
Tap WCDMA from under "Set preferred network type".
Select "LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)".
The 4G LTE network should now be activated.
Q:Where’s USB mass storage?
A: After ICS Google stopped including it in their Android builds, as such mass storage mode is not a feature that was kept by CM for Jelly Bean. Individual manufacturers do what they want though, which is why Sony, Samsung and others still have it. Skilled modders may be able to add to ROMS based on this development, I reckon they might be able to patch this one to include it too
Q: This ROM is buggy as hell and drains my battery – how do I let the developers know?
A: Logcat and/or a kernel log - or it didn’t happen for bugs.
Better battery stats for battery drain.
There are lots of guides out there showing you how to take logs and how to record battery stats.
Anecdote – I activated Google+ yesterday as I like the auto-photo upload feature but wakelock detector revealed it was killing my battery (I think it’s dodgy on stock too). The choice was the app or the ROM, I chose the ROM.
Q: After installation something random doesn’t work – what do I do?
A: Check the thread to see if other users have mentioned the issue and to see if the developer has posted a solution. Also, you’re on XDA, you’re an advanced user, you have unlocked your bootloader, thrown out your warranty and accepted the consequences. So please try to resolve the issue yourself. In general if you are having a problem and no one else is, it will be a problem with your phone/download/installation.
Phone - obviously a hardware fault can't be foreseen by the developer and have you unlocked your bootloader!
Download - Most downloads are fine. But I've flashed enough ROMS to know that sometimes a file gets corrupted and sometimes they say they are complete when they are not. Sometimes I've been careless and clicked on the wrong download, sometimes the website hosting the site is haveing a a bad day, sometimes the developer puts the download in the wrong place too The first things to check are the name and size of the file - if these tally you're probably fine to install. If you want to be extra cautious you can check the MD5 hash to see if your download matches. Sometimes the file gets corrupted on upload - nothing anyone can do about that...
Installation - (Please back up your orignal ROM). Typically you'll be installing this ROM using a recovery from another ROM/kernel/MOD - so if you have problems installing , it might be that you have a bad recovery.
The wipes really need to be done to ensure the smooth running of your phone, but as you've backed up, the 15 seconds you spend properly wiping should not be much of a chore.
If you're one of the first downloaders, I guess there is some merit in saying you couldn't install, but if it's been out for a while and there are loads of posts saying 'what a great ROM' there's little point posting 'won't install'. Describe exactly what you've done and someone might help.
Bear in mind there are apps/hardware that the developers of this ROM won’t have heard of/care about - so if something doesn’t work properly on your phone it could be for numerous reasons. Either way, this may be something you have to live with. Alternatively, if the app is essential to you, you’ll have to return to a backup.
Remember this ROM is in development, there are no promises of perfection and no one is forcing you to use it. However, the right kind of feedback is always welcomed by the developers and may be acted on – the wrong kind will often be ignored.
Q: What does a perfect bug report look like?
A: Go here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46935640&postcount=313
Q: What are the known bugs?
A: FM radio doesn’t work.
A: Attempts to offline charge cause the phone to boot.
A: 4G activation is not remembered between boots for CM10.1.
A: For 10.2 there is a known battery drain issue related to WiFi. See the solution here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46923723&postcount=301
The following issues have been reported by some users, but others say it doesn’t affect them. They are regarded as hardware issues – anecdotal ‘me too’ posts will be ignored. However, supply a log and your phone’s date of manufacture and the developer may look into it (this might help you prove that your phone is faulty, so it’s a worthwhile exercise).
Erratic touch screen response.
Reading external SD Card in recovery and in use.
As others have said this is possibly the most stable first CM build they’ve encountered and I agree – it’s definitely suitable for daily use. I've been using it from release and haven't had a single reboot/app crash or freeze.

Thanks for sharing. I saw yesterday in the changelog that both 10.1 and 10.2 where announced on FXP 242 (10.1 in beta and 10.2 in alpha), but I can't find the 10.2 download anywhere.

Flashed and booted. Its nice. But some screen flickering while scrolling. Like in settings etc etc. But that can resolve with enable the " Disable Hardware Overlay" option from Developer Settings
What about performance ? Can you run antutu bench ? how much is free / used RAM ? etc.
thanks

Screen Flicker
Hi @Rajeev
I didn't experience screen flickering at ALL in ANY test builds so I find this really difficult to believe but I'm happy to take a detailed look at it ..
Log's plus video(so I can see what you mean) would be useful so I can get this possible ?issue? and if it is an issue then I'll get it resolved.
None whatsoever for me so this is a really weird issue....
Thanks
I have the flickering too ! And the phone often soft freezes. Seems like the app isnt updated anymore on screen. It can also be just the keyboard for example. Hiting recent tasks unfreezes it but systemui sometimes freezes until reboot.

LOG"S OR IT DIDN"T HAPPEN . I'm serious.
I'm downloading this release to test but I can't help much if you don't provide logs.
Are you sure its not auto-brightness being turned on as auto-brightness doesn't work very well in stock so the changes are probably more noticeable.
Reboots work perfectly fine for me..
On the recent test builds I haven't had a reboot issue but as you know the kernel is temporary so I'll redo it when 4.3 comes out....
WE NEED LOGS.

I8190XXANA2 is better than older ones ;) ... just takes longer to set up :P

OK, so yesterday I flashed the new ANA2 firmware and immediately saw that it uses much less RAM resources than the previous versions. Although the only downside is that it returns everything to stock (there isn't a pre-rooted one yet). And by "everything" I mean EVERYTHING : no more root ; stock recovery and a bunch of annoying apps and bloatware. So you gotta install CWM (or TWRP) again, through ODIN, then you gotta root your phone, again, with Chainfire's SuperSU app through the custom recovery. And finally you gotta install an app like Freezer to disable the bloatware (NOTE-Google Maps and Google Magazines need to be deleted from .../system/app, because for some reason they won't stay freezed after a reboot). The other thing is (at least with me) that the official samsung boot and shutdown logo are replaced by ones from Movistar (it's an operator?) and the boot up sound is missing, but if you dig a bit here in xda, you'll find a post for the Galaxy S2 which has all the S3 Mini original animations needed to restore your phone's boot and shutdown logo If you really want the boot sound back, again search a bit here and you'll find a post which has a collection of S3 system sounds (which are the same as our S3 Mini's) and you just have to copy the file "PowerON.ogg" to ...system/media/audio/ui replacing the existing one. I think it's just better to replace the whole "audio" folder, 'cause there might be some other sounds missing.
And yeah, that's about it about the new firmware. Please note that I've downloaded this http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/24398/Galaxy_S_3_Mini/GT-I8190/XEC/I8190XXANA2.html version of the ANA2 firmware, so changes may vary between other versions of it.
If you can't find the posts for the original sounds and boot stuff, ask in this thread and I'll upload them to mediafire and post links here
! ! ! ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP OF YOUR CURRENT ROM AND HAVE IT ON YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD JUST IN CASE ! ! !

well, actually no. They've added a few more apps but you can get rid of them either with Freezer or by deleting them from system/app

I think it helps, but can't tell exactly as I've got apps that save up battery. Here's my setup :
DU Battery Saver PRO (paid ; needs root) - only turned on the Low CPU Frequency When Screen Locked option
Boosters Plus Battery Saver PRO (paid ; needs root) - Turned on all boosters (Double booster on ones which have that option)
Tasker (paid) - i use it so that my phone goes into Airplane Mode from 00:00 to 07:00 and to turn on 3G only when I launch specified apps
Battery Saving Build.prop Tweaks (...system/build.prop) - add the following lines at the very end of the build.prop file, then save it and reboot -->
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
With the above settings and the new firmware I got 5% drain from 23:00 to 07:00, which is amazing for me. The trick is to be able to use your phone without it lagging or lacking features, but when the screen turns off, all the above mentioned things take effect and greatly preserve battery life.
P.S. I can tell you how to root your phone it it's the international GT-I8190 version. I've even got all the stuff needed on my PC if you can't find something.
Oke thanks ,

I was like that 'bout a year ago, but yesterday I remembered that there is nothing better than the latest stock firmware for a device. With all custom roms that i've tried FF6 and a bunch of other games and the whole UI lagged very much. As of yesterday, it runs smooth again (just like when I bought my phone).

Yeah i know, but the only thing that prevents me from switching is that there is no TouchWiz in CM (and i love touchwiz launcher) xD
Anyway, i was talking about how the newest STOCK firmware is better than the other STOCK ones.
Currently waiting for DModv7, though
does anybody know a way to enable 4way reboot for this latest firmware?
