App draw icons. - Galaxy S II General

I've just picked up my Galaxy S2 and its awesome! The only thing that I can't work out is how to rearrange the icons in the app draw to put them in alphabetical order. Anyone?

I think I remember reading somewhere that you can only put it in alphabetical order if you set it to 'list view' instead of 'grid view'.

Yeah, the annoying thing is that it doesn't always seem to remember the setting... I have to occasionally set it back to list view again when I open the drawer.

dxtop pro, long press icon for options. you may need to grab an icon pack. gl
what about getting the entire name of the apps to show up instead of fading off. There's plenty of room if a second line is used.

If you have Launcher Pro (Plus):
-Long press on the homescreen
-go to shortcuts
-applications
-tap the app you want
-a screen should come up with the stock icon and title for the app
-tap on the icon and change it to whatever you want (it will go to your gallery, so you'll need to have already downloaded the icon you want)

Is there a faster way of creating folders than dragging and dropping?

Just downloaded like 100 games, is there a way to select all those apps and create a folder?
Also, I have a blank screen that I don't need. Is there a way to remove that? Like I have an extra panel.
Thanks

not unless you're using a custom launcher. i use TSF shell UI, and that has a lasso tool that lets you just highlight up to 20 icons at a time to drag into a folder, or you can double tap as many icons as you'd like to move into a folder.
and if its anything like android for phones, pinch to zoom out of the home screen and it should show you all the screens. just drag the spare panels you dont need to the trash can to the bottom.

I use Folder Organizer by Fabio from the market. Not sure if it works on JB or N7 as I'm still waiting on mine to arrive. It puts all apps in a list and you put them under a label and just go down that list and check them off. You can also use custom folder icons.

That's a standard feature of many 3rd party launchers and ROMS ...

[Q] Nova Launcher - Swipe UP to launch My Magazine

I thought I heard that there was a way to Launch 'My Magazine' using gesture/swipe up in Nova Settings. All I see there is the APP DRAWER. Can you launch specific apps in the launch draw (like 'my magazine') using gesture/swipe up ?
as long as the app is available in the gesture settings it'll launch it. i know smart launcher does and i currently have it set for that. i'll probably change it since i use feedly far more than i'll use the my magazine app.
edit: oh snap! i didn't pay attention that i posted in the note 3 forum. i thought i was in the gn10.1 2014 forum, lol. either way it's all the same.
I found the setting for 'My Magazine' but unfortunately Swipe Up is not doing anything (& swipe up in nova says "my magazine" now). Perhaps NOVA needs a restart. Trying that next.
My gestures work -in my use i find if you make sure you touch a part of the screen not covered by a widget or button then do the motion -the action gets carried out

That was it, thanks sent. I had a widget blocking my swipe, I guess.
Glad it helped! You can even do the gestures along the furthest side of the screen and it'll work so no worries about having to leave a space open to do it!

Is it possible to "show grid" with WidgetLocker application?

I am attempting to make my lock screen appear like the image posted below. This screenshot is actually of the home screen, not the lock screen.
The only lock-screen app I could find that allows widget overlap is "WidgetLocker". If there are others I could play around with, please let me know.
My current strategy is to add both "Dash Clock" and "Circle Battery Widget" to the WidgetLocker (WL) lock screen and attempting to align them via overlap. Unfortunately, it looks like WL only allows overlap via resizing - not by placing one widget on top of another. I think it is still possible, with enough tinkering, but it won't be easy.
One thing that might make this easier would be if I could see the grid when moving widgets on the lock screen. The settings for this app are pretty extensive and I can't find the option if it's there.
Any suggestions that might help me reproduce this lock screen are welcome. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I guess I don't have the privileges to add an image yet. If you're curious, head to bitly slash 19muwsg

They look similar but are two different questions. Sorry about that, should've been more careful with my wording.

Android icon dock change

Hey peeps!
I was just wondering if their was a way to edit the icon dock, specifically add words under the icon? I like the stock icons in CM11 I was just wondering if their was a way to add words to accompany them? For instance underneath the messages icon have the word "messages" and so on and so forth.
Thanks guys and girls because I know their are lady geeks too lol

The text labels underneath home screen and dock are readily
available just by selecting a different launcher which has that feature.
Give "Next Launcher 3D Shell" a try, it has that option and more.
There are other launchers which have that feature too.
Good luck!
