[INFO] New Sku's, maybe they will have several builds.... - Eee Pad Transformer General

I have seen many rumors about the NA price being lower due to different builds, lacking camera/gps/other items... well i just looked on my vendor's site, and since 2 days ago when i last checked, they added 2 new skus, no ETA or pricing yet... but it makes me go HMMMMMM
The A1 and B1 were there before, but the A2 and B2 are new.

looks like CBIL means Canadian Bilingual... not sure if that means it's a bundle with a bilingual keyboard, or reinstalled bilingual language... but that does not explain the "2" their normal naming is to just add the cbil at the end, not change the product number too.
(i know i am in the wrong place here, i asked mods to move it.)

That's weird! HDD??? Think that must be a mistake somewhere.

the term "hdd" is commonly misused, i wouldn't be concerned over that.

TF101-A1 and B1 are the two models currently for sale at AAFES. They do not come with the dock. The only variation between the two is 16GB and 32GB.
Doesn't look like they have any an SKU for the bundles yet...

that's what i am curious about with the a2 and b2... they normally do not change the SKU for canada other than adding the CBIL to the end. normally it would just be tf101-a1-CBIL

CBIL would be unnecessary unless the keyboard was included. My guess is the A2 or B2 signifies a bundle product. Why there isn't a non-CBIL A2 or B2 is anyone's guess, probably to come later.

well i could see a need for a canadian version so the onscreen language is bilingual... not saying that's the case, but it's possible.

I don't think there are many electronic devices that would show both languages on screen at the same time since that would be pretty useless. You just pick one or the other and go with it.

I've seen the A2, B2 also, can't remember where...... but, I do remember that it was just that the tablets were bundled with the dock.

Versatility is redefined with the Android 3.0-based Eee Pad Transformer. Users can either use the device as a tablet or attach it to the optional dock (included on selected models or sold separately)* to turn the tablet into a portable PC with a QWERTY keyboard.
* Included on TF101-A2, TF101-A2-CBIL, TF101-B2, TF101-B2-CBIL

So A2/B2 versions are with keyboard dock included.

Not me, I just found the pic on news site.

I'd assume that pic is a pre-production model or something. The trackpad doesn't even have buttons, making me think it's just a mock-up.
So we know now:
A1 = 16GB tablet only
A2 = 16GB tablet with dock
B1 = 32GB tablet only
B2 = 32GB tablet with dock

USB port adapter only for 8.9"?

What is the meaning behind this? It sounds like the larger 10.1 tablet is going to miss out on a full size USB port. Maybe the 10.1 has a full size on the tablet itself, and not as an attachment? Can anyone confirm the reasoning for leaving the attachment off the larger version?
This puzzled me too. The USB/SD kit says it's only for the 8.9. But what is the point of even having the SD adapter if the tablet has a micro SD slot?
Only thing that comes to mind so far is that was an old slide and the kit was not compatible with the old Galaxy 10.1? *shrug*
I was thinking this kit provides "USB Host" functionality.
Looking into the presentation below, I could imagine user can attach SD card ... and the tab will be able to read it (USB Host functionality)

That's what I think too. It would be a pretty stupid move to allow it only on the 8.9".
Anyways, Samsung has been pretty horrible with releasing accessories at a reasonable time frame. So yeah....
PC World has a article on the new Tabs and on slide 4 they claim both models have a microSD slot. The pictures shows a microSD slot on top.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/222837/article.html
just curious , anyone have any idea that this adaptor will be coming to the 10.1v (old fat one) ... this problem and the dual antenna , are the only barrier for me to decide buying 10.1v or not , personally i think if the bottom socket is the same (i think u call it 30 pin) , then it would properly fit on the old one , but will the software support it ??
Can the new 8.9 Tab charge by way of micro usb? Thanks

If you listen he says "the Galaxy Tab will INCLUDE a USB kit for connection to cameras, SD cards..." I take that as meaning that it will only be included with the 8.9" not that it will only work with the 8.9".
I hope it's not. I'm not a big fan of 'propriatory' ports.

[Q] Iconia W500 keyboard?

I haven't seen one in person, but since the design is similar enough, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if the keyboard unit from the W500 tablet might happen to work with the A500? I can see logic going both ways, but if someone has had the chance to try it out, I'd love to know how it went!
From what I've researched on the W500, the keyboard uses USB, and will not work for the A500.
That was one of the things I was most excited for was the keyboard for this guy. It looks like it hasn't been released, but I'm sure they will end up making one at some point.

Surely you can use a USB M to F cable or plug your A500 vertically on it...

Well, that photo certainly clears up my questions - I mistakenly assumed that the W500 would use the same dock connector, but they're clearly more different than I anticipated!
Here's hoping that we'll get a similar keyboard setup at some point as an accessory. Until then, there's always bluetooth, which is probably a good enough solution that I won't bother with a specific keyboard if it is released...
It seems that keyboards and other accessories can now be ordered direct from Acer's online store - for those of us in the US anyway. No photos yet. But it appears that the items are available.

Just saw an interesting post on TechniDroid. Guy claims he spoke to someone at Acer who confirmed there will be a keyboard dock for the A500. Since I'm a newbie on this forum I can't post the link unfortunately.

You must not have seen the w500 keyboard if you're asking that question. Look it up and it will become very clear why it wouldn't work on the A500. A sad sad day for us all. I too was looking forward to that keyboard dock with the superior A500.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7501 vs, P7500

Does somebody knows what the difference between P7501 and P7500 are? As I understand both have UMTS and WIFI? Also rest of spec seems to be the same.
(It is not a mistake P7501! Not P7510)
P7501 is a new model (Name is Galaxy Tab 10.1N)
It was created by Samsung in order to address the issue that previous models could not be sold in certain markets due to lawsuits triggered by Apple.
So far I'm not aware what has changed in detail but I assume the technical specs remain the same. Most likely they only adapted the exterior design.
It has a slightly changed design. The software and the basic hardware are the same.
The speakers a repositioned and the silver-border is also changed (dunno in which way)
It got Android 3.2
Here's a link to it on a German site. It doesn't look that different. I wonder if it's different enough for Apple? Interesting.

May not work on other models out of the box. But with the right kernel, perhaps. In any case, we will probably start seeing more 3.2 ROMs very soon -- even official ones.
If they've done it right, this is exactly the same device as the P7500/P7510 with a slightly different frame and a little glas cut of each side.

I have one.
I've got one.
It has a slightly different design. But from my experience rooting and flashing works the same. So I don't think there are a lot of differences of the hardware.
See also my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878585#post19878585
I've got one too.
I recently bought the 10.1N WiFi, the GT7511. It features the same hardware specs as the GT7510 except the design of the frame. The speakers are on the front, the silver frame is much larger than the one of the GT7510. The physical size of the tablet is exactly the same and all accessories released by Samsung until now are compatible with it. I own the keyboard dock and it works like a charm. The tablet fits into a 10.1 leather case without problems.
The software is Android 3.2 with Touchwiz. It features several Samsung Hub Apps (Readers Hub, Social Hub, Music Hub), Pulse News, Samsung Apps Market and Polaris Office.
I hope Samsung will release ICS for this modell, too.

Amazon's pre-orders are sold out, you have to wait for the next shipment.
This does look like a great tablet at an amazing price.
However I will wait for the tablet to have a 2gb ram instead of 1gb. Using a fully customized TF101 with LWP and other widgets keeps the ram at 600-700 and using a browser like overskreen does push it close to the limit.
Also, I will have to deal with the problem of selling my TF101 with dock if I do plan to get another tablet.
Does anyone know if the original dock will work on TF300 ?
I was under the impression that the TF300 is going to be the low end device of their new tablet lineup. Hopefully, it does better than the Prime at launch (as in no Wi-Fi issues, glitchy GPS, etc) . I'm more interested in the Pad Infinity, but only if Asus solves the software problems on the TF101 first. Otherwise, I can't say I'm too confident in their firmware with ICS.
I would also doubt highly that the original dock will work with any of these, but I suppose you never know -- they might be nice to us (yeah, right!).

Some people are experiencing random reboots and other stability issues after upgrading to ICS.
Im quite sure they said the new devices will NOT be compatible with previous docks, and will have their own docks.
But if it will be compatible with any previous dock - it will be the TF201's. TF101 is too old, and I do believe they have stopped production of the dock as well (at least, a lot of stores here in sweden has stopped selling them and wont receive any new shipment)

And unless you root right after getting the TF101, the ICS update will be force fed to you and then all these issues of rebooting, freezing and apps force closing will ensue.
I'd wait for 300, may be the Wifi/GPS issues they had with prime will be fixed and she will be root and overclock friendly tab .

From the leaks to the media, the 300 looks to be a 201 clone with plastic case, slower soc but longer battery life. After seeing excellent performance of the fully functioning gps dongle on the prime, I have high expectations on the performance of the 300.

Not sure if it has expandable storage. But by currency conversion it works out: $315/£200!!
Should be released in October. Hope it works in UK
Nice phone! If only we could get it for under $400 shipped in USA. Hopefully works for T-Mobile....

I wonder if this will have solid rom AOSP/ROM support... you might imagine so considering it's running MIUI out of the box.
Also, battery life.
Will it have an english MIUI available though?
Great specs, especially love the option for 3000mAh albeit with an extra 2mm thickness. But no mention of an SD card slot?? 16GB inside is fine but not enough for me on the whole.
I want one so bad! Hopefully we can manage to get them here in the US for under $400... It's beautiful.

Yes it will.
Just wondering if it will work in the UK
Based on what I've read, don't expect to get your hands on it until the specs are no longer a wow factor.
Apparently this company has some very interesting marketing strategies, the price is apparently more so an initial head turner and far from permanent. Supply is also iffy.

Only missing feature is NFC, but hard to complain about at that price with those specs. Even if it comes in at $450 or so in the end that's around the Xperia P range so not out of sorts. We'll see if they release the goodies for the devs to tinker with.
Has this gone on sale in China? Maybe one of the Chinese users could clear our queries with regards to this phone. I'm chiefly concerned about the following things:
1. English support (should mostly have)
2. AOSP support (almost certainly might have)
3. Build quality and spares!!
Damn it I live in India and we are China's neighbours. Start selling you phones here guys!

Disagree, for that price it will be a wow factor at that time of release and a few months after release

amazing what they can produce here :cyclops:
don't expect aosp support as they will probably never release the kernel source. the first one was okay... many of my friends have them but.although they get updates every week they still seem to be only about 75 stable.. the new one has me interested from a cheap hardware angle but I like beingable to choose my own Rom
@joshofbass
what do you mean by "they still seem to be only about 75 stable"?
reboots? freeze? I need a dual sim so that i don't have to lug around 3 phones
NFC??
Does anyone know if the MI-2 supports NFC technology?
I have seen many websites which write the specs and other useful information,but none is mentioning whether or not it has a nfc chip.
NFC is not listed in the specs on the official homepage. Neither is microsd support, btw ...
the best phone!
