Why are you waiting? You can download the update from the ASUS site put it on a microSD card and perform the update. This is ASUS supported and would not void your warranty. Do not download the update using Internet Explorer as it is known to corrupt the file.
Follow these instructions:
ASUS Update install instructions PDF
ASUS HC 3.1 Update files for various regions. Download the one appropriate to your region:
Asus Transformer Downloads
Select an OS of "Android" and expand "Firmware"(click plus sign) then find one appropriate to your region then click one of the "Download from" file sites.
Good Luck
Perhaps people need to be asking Asus via Facebook, Twitter and email channels, what their plans are for a Honeycomb 3.2 update, and if it will address the 3 main criticisms:
1/ Keyboard lag in the stock browser.
2/ Hardware acceleration of flash content.
3. Battery drain in standby.

I would add:
4. Battery usage info
5. Keyboard dock battery drain when tablet is in standby (because there's also tablet drain in standby, by itself)
6. Better wifi driver
My hope is that Asus isn't QUITE as quick with releasing 3.2, but that they really take their time in getting everything fixed and integrated nicely with 3.2. I'm guessing that since 3.2 already promises more hardware acceleration, Asus will do just that, to make sure the TF is on par with every other Tegra 2 tablet on the market.
Well, apart from the Transformer specific enhancements or fixes Asus might put into 3.2, what did Google do with 3.2 that might be interesting?

Better hardware acceleration. To me, that alone warrants a quick update.
@ferparedes:
- Improved hardware acceleration (f.e. GPU will be used for more things and more effectively)
- Support for Qualcomm-ARM-CPUs
- Support for 7-inch devices
Dunno why you havent read the first page of this thread yet. Theres everything you have to know about HC3.2 ...

Thanks 3Dsammy, but my region (Japan) is not yet available
They said they are going to release one "sometime in the near future". Nice and vague. Its really frustrating when every other country already has it.
Let's hope Asus will be responsible about this.

Interesting. I wonder if Xoom owners might be getting their hopes up too soon... Coming from Google rather than Motorola, I'd read that comment as saying Google are about to release HC 3.2 to the OEMs, which fixes the specific issue reported. That wouldn't necessarily mean Motorola are about to make the release available to the public immediately, just that from Google's point of view it is no longer a bug for them.
I wouldn't expect Google to know Motorola's release schedule, because Motorola themselves likely won't know it until the last moment, once they apply their customizations, build and test, get it approved by legal, etc.
The good news here is that if Google are making it available to Motorola, they'll be making it available to Asus too. I'd guess (or hope) that means we should have the update within the next few weeks...

3.2 delayed until Sept. 10th

Dear fans, we sincerely apologize for the delayed release of the 3.2 update for Acer Iconia Tab A500. We've just received news today that there have been some issues with the GPS settings therefore the 3.2 update will be rescheduled to 10th of September. We will update again if earlier, we hope to provide all our end users a stable and problem-free OS. Thanks for your continuous support and understanding.
Well...
At least it is a comment... and informative...

Strange, because the A501 stock ROM with HC 3.2 works without issues also on a A500.
...*yawn*...
Only if they can let us know earlier? Although I would like to get the update a.s.a.p, it's not that of a big deal for several days/weeks sooner or later, but have no where to know accurate info made me feel bad.
At least now I can quit checking for updates every five minutes.

Why is the update about 3.2 continuously posted to Acer Malaysia but not the main Acer Facebook page?

Because its for Malaysian owners, Acer america doesn't post ****. They did however today say there is some new upcoming news to be announced in the next few days, but that could be anything... Acer really sucks with the social media era.

It would be great, if only ICS wasn't slated for Q4 to say the least, and you should add Acer adapting and testing time... And that's IF they will bother to release it at all.
Regarding ICS, I put more hope in the Community than in Acer.

I understand the GPS issue is more of an issue with 3.2 since this versions seems to be the same for a500 and a501. On a500 it was less of an issue since it is not planned to be used on moving around tablets whilst a501 is supporting 3G and hence GPS might be an issue. Since both tablets have nearly the same hardware it will be fixed all at once and has to be working, otherwise at least a501 customers might complain about it. So why not wait for another 10 days and it is done well.
You need to check your facts.....that was the old CEO/founder of Acer, as in not currently working for Acer who made those comments. Akin to Paul Allen saying something like he doesn't like Win 7 or something like that.

DONT DOWNLOAD ICS YET until the dust settles. I am waiting for the same in fact I bought one just last week from the crazy TD-eBay sale for $249 shipped only to try out ICS. It arrived yesterday and I noticed there is no update for it OTA but now its going on craigslist because of this article:

ASUS Transformer ICS update leaves tablets unusable
By Ed Burnette | February 29, 2012, 2:00pm PST
Summary: Anxious to upgrade your ASUS EEEPad Transformer to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)? This time it doesn’t pay to be an early adopter.
Late last week ASUS started rolling out an over the air update for the original EEEPad Transformer. If you haven’t installed it yet, don’t. It can cause random reboots and generally make your tablet unusable.
I installed the update over the weekend and have had nothing but problems ever since. The main problem is that every couple of hours it will decide to reboot itself, and then to add insult to injury, the reboot fails. The tablet hangs on the startup after rebooting, and you have to turn it off and back on to clear the problem. The Transformer doesn’t have a removable battery, so to do a hard power-off you hold the power button for about 10 seconds. Luckily that works.
Dozens of frustrated ASUS customers have posted irate messages about the problems over in the XDA and Transformer forums. Besides the random reboots, some report intense battery drains and crashes of common apps. Here are a few of the threads tracking the issue:
ICS boot problem
Random Reboot Investigation
Working solution for random boot issues (not really)
Read this now !!! Post all ICS and ICS related info here only !!!!!
[SOLVED] Ice Cream sandwich update basically bricks TF101 (still bricked, sorry)
[HOW TO] ICS update problems? - fix them with these steps (didn’t help me)
My TF101 randomly reboots after Ice Cream Sandwich update!!
Reboot loop less than 36 hrs after ICS upgrade
Some people have reported no problems at all, so it’s a bit of a crap shoot whether or not you’ll be affected. Some say that factory resets, clearing and wiping everything has fixed the problem but it did not fix it for me or a lot of others. My advice: Don’t upgrade until ASUS retracts this ill-fated update and puts out a better version.

I would think Asus would want to address some of the issues reported with the TF101 release first before they release anything to the G.
Asus Italia stated "tf101g will receive ics update by the first days of March"..
So.. We are at the 11th..
Dunno what to think about.

Considering some of the issues with some users with the TF101 and ICS, it may be better that they are waiting to release the TF101G until that is fixed.
Unless you want to be one of the "'lucky" ones who have random unpredictable reboots due to a firmware issue.
I think I can wait but there is no communication from ASUS on G version at all. This is even frustrating.

PETITION to ask the jelly bean update on TF101!

Hello,
I write from Italy and I'm new in this forum. I signed up to share you the petition to ask the Jelly Bean update to Asus for Transformer TF101 after the declarations that it won't be updated.
The petition was published on iPetitions and I would your help in spreading the initiative.
Comments, suggestions and above signatures are well accepted!

Last time I checked, no one from ASUS said the TF101 won't get a JB update. I prefer them not to, judging from the terrible job they did with the ICS update. Already a lot of JB custom roms can be found in development so we won't need ASUS at all.

Asus Italy stated on their Facebook page that right now only the TF201, TF300T and TF700 will get Jelly Bean, while TF101(G)/SL101 won't get the update.
That said, they have been extremely unreliable wrt announcements in the past, so I think a petition is a bit premature

Dear valued ASUS customer,
At ASUS, one of the key commitments we make to our customers is a relentless drive to deliver the best user experience. We constantly strive to achieve this goal through our ‘Design Thinking’ philosophy that includes regular software and firmware updates for our products.
We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.
We are still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment.
Thank you for your continued support.

You are right, they have not specifically said that there is no update for it and I really don't care for one. I, along with many others, have had a terrible experience with ICS from ASUS and have been running ROM's for awhile now. I am already rocking JB and have a stable build. I am done with ASUS.

I would prefer a petition that demands the release of all drivers and everything else needed to make roms on our own.
just signed... maybe people with facebook accounts (i dont have one) can post a link to this petition on an ASUS facebook wall to encourage other people to sign.
I'm sorry but do you really care so much about 'official' JB? We have everything we need to make it work from AOSP, there's only a few minor problems that are definitely fixable, and I'm pretty sure we'll fix those sooner than ASUS releases an update. Most ASUS bloat works on AOSP without problems, and feature wise their ROM is only different in toggles and touchpad settings, both of which are very possible. So can someone explain why would they want OFFICIALZ STUFFZ?

Some people wish to remain "stock", which is understandable. Installing a ROM can be intimidating if they've never done it before.

Xoom (wifi only) might have a Jelly Bean update already, but Xoom owners are complaining left and right about the poor quality of this update.

An official update from AUSUS would increase the chance of also getting updater drivers, e.g. NVidia drivers etc.
Also an official build from AUSUS would have everything up and running (if yet possibly still with a few bugs, but lets hope not).

We already have updated drivers from the Xoom OTA. They need some kernel changes but it'll be easy when kernel source drops for Xoom.
