(question)When xperia x10 2.3 official - XPERIA X10 General

google translater mode [on]
looking in some places not found anything talking about it ... and I have a question:
I'm using 2.2 (Froyo) works "normally", when Sony release the official 2.3 it will update automatically, or should I do any procedure?

2.3 will come late Juni begin July. You will have to update using Pc Companion or Sony Ericsson Update Service.

okey,
normal update.
tks

if i am currently using a modified ROM (unofficial) will i still be able to update using PC Companion? If i have rooted my phone and currently installed busybox and xrecovery, will i still be able to boot to xrecovery if i upgraded back to official rom 2.3 (just in case it will be releases)? or do i have to reinstall both to make it work again?

You can use SEUS to update your phone on Android 2.2.1 or 2.3.3. To use SEUS you only need to put your phone in ''flash mode''.
When you upgrade to 2.3.3 everything will be lost. So make sure you make a backup. When you're upgraded to official 2.3.3, you will also lose xRecovery + root. You will have to wait till any developer gets a working rooting method and confirms that xRecovery is working on 2.3.3.
So, just sit back, relax and wait till the official release of this firmware comes! It will not take long anymore, from tommorow just almost 3 to a bit over 4 months left till the official release end Juny begin July.

or the leaked version some time this q
ie today

r u sure that X10 will receive 2.3? please provide proof. Also why would SE relase 2.3 for X10 whereas the Xperia ARC comes out with 2.3? doesnt make business sence.

There is proof on the SE product blog.

We thought it wouldn't happen, but it happened.
It's OFFICIAL from the SE product blog, why don't you check it before posting such pessimistic comments?

I was with the SE UK senior team last week in London and they have also said that they're trying to get the UK carriers to push this (2.3) out too.. so it may end up going beyond the "Unbranded" market (plus those of us here who know how to flash an unofficial update!)... TBC

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 new Android 2.1 firmware is ready for download

http://hdtvsg.blogspot.com/2010/07/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-new-android-21.html
Just now i go to one of the SingTel roadshow, and they offer me firmware upgrade to Xperia X10, but since mine i rooted, i declined. I was thinking, i go back home, rebrand the phone again with SingTel firmware, then tomorrow i go back again.
But then i found this blog. Currently downloading the update, with very slow connection, maybe because many people using the internet TV to watch world cup final. hehe.
follow up will come after i done.
Hi.
The blog post is from two days ago, and doesn't seem to be anyone else mentioning it, so I'll wait and see.
Hope it is the 2.1 update but I somehow doubt it as no one else has mentioned this anywhere. This would be big if it was real so I'll wait for your follow up. Post pictures aswell
Edit: After looking at the blog correctly (lol) this is just the latest update for the Update Service. And if this is for the 23 version I still wouldnt download it...extremely minor update to 20 and less stable.
LOL! this isn't android 2.1 what a retarded blog. Its a download for the sony ericsson update service which happens to be version 2.10.7.15 so they thought its was android 2.1. and since when are ROMS 37MB? HA

In case you didnt notice, the download is simply the Sony Ericsson Update Service. This does not mean that it will update your phone to the firmware based on Android 2.1. Most probably you will just get the latest firmware i.e R2BA023. This release is most certainly not based on Android 2.1.

i can cross my finger only men. hehe. i need to rebrand anyway, and see what kind of update they have for SingTel Xperia X10. And what's more, the update service version IS NEW. worth to try. hahaha..
see the funny reaction ?? That was me lol...
Just logged into Update Service and my phone downloaded something, it wasn't 2.1, and it still has build r2ba020. Sony installed something but don't know what. could be trying to plug the root holes?

actually i cant cross ur fingers, the new version of seus prevents people from debranding, all those who are debranded cannot revert back to stock software, thus warentee voided, like myn this new seus just counter acts a few of our hacks

Hey Chetan, care tell everyone exactly how to do that using flash tool and omnius? I mean don't you need to get the decrypted files (*.sin etc) in order to be able to flash them with these tools.
The new updated SEUS can be used to obtain them but its clearly a long drawn complicated process.
After trying to rebrand my Xperia X10 back to SingTel for whole 2 x 45 of world cup final, then SEUS updates, finally updated to.... R2BA020 SingTel... with Creatouch preinstalled.
Expectation too high.. beuuuh.. well i was hoping for something because we know that SEUS updates is brand specific, and so far i never see any decrypted rom updates for SingTel brand or anything even related. so just may be. July is Q3 after all. hehe.
no 2.1 available yet...

anytime you can un-root.. and seriously, do you believe that samsung FW will be better than custom one ? look at the htc users. Htc prepares much better FW than samy and the users are flashing custom ROMs...
I use JPA and waiting for another stable ROM with GPS working without fixing.
I had heard about April rumours, but yesterday I saw screen shot from facebook page of Samsung Singapore which says that they expect to release Froyo by end of Jan. So no harm in waiting for 3 weeks or so.

Does anyone know if its gonna be worldwide?
Does Kies detects the area I am or it´s by the phone firmware? I´m asking because I have a i5801 purchased in the US, but its the Singapore firmware and I live in Brazil
I haven´t tried to flash a Froyo ROM or anything like that... is it worth it? (I´d like to see how Froyo runs, but I haven´t been very encouraged by the problems reported on the froyo firmwares released so far), is it better to wait for the official one (and of course the custom ones later on)?

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Arc getting Android 2.3.4

There's still no confirmation as to when it will be headed to the soon-to-be-released Verizon Xperia Play, but Recombu is reporting that at least some iterations of the phone will be getting upgraded to Android 2.3.4 next week, at which point the Xperia Arc will also get bumped up to the same version. Assuming there's no surprises in the next week, that would seem to make them the first non-Nexus phones to get the update.

Yup. Looks like SE is keeping their promise.

DO NOT UPDATE! all signs point to the fact that you will brick your phone if you update with an unlocked bootloader.
When costum roms appear it probably won;t take long for them to implement 2.3.4. I advice to wait for that if your bootlaoder is unlocked.
Sony Ericsson has confirmed that you will be able to still get SEUS updates as long as you carry on using stock SE firmware, even if the bootloader is unlocked.
Click to collapse
It’s also noted that, while Sony Ericsson have provided this service, using it may void your warranty. Also if you change the bootloader or load custom ROMs on to the handset, you will not be able to receive updates provided by Sony Ericsson through SEUS. However if unlocking the boot loader is all you do, you will be able to continue to receive updates from Sony Ericsson as usual.

SE themselves allowed the boot loader to be unlocked and not some third party unlocking it. So surely as long as the boot loader is unlocked and nothing else is done it should be ok?
Maybe rooting your phone and removing bloat makes SE think you have modified the firmware? Not sure but some guy on SE fourms http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/75368 claims to be able to use SEUS to repair his Arc with an unlocked bootloader and the thread is from the 18th may.

ARC 4.0.2+ update LIVE

hi. i just got this from my centrals (Sonyericsson service point).
4.0.2+ live for ARC via EMMA. sonyericsson official updater.
do not know if this is possible via Update Service.
good luck
Can you upload a system dump? if you have it on you Arc?
Μάριε.. γιατί μας αναστατώνεις??
Can you give us some more clues??
i do not own an ARC guys. and do not have any right now to service. i just got the news for me via our online training.
Thanx for the info Marios.
I hope it will roll out soon! ;-)
I can check EMMA for the Arc S and Neo, I'll get back to you guys.
damn nice news !
keep us updated ambroos =)
Nothing on EMMA for LT18i Customized Belgium, nothing for MT15i Customized Netherlands either. I can't check all available services at home without the dongle... I'll see if I can find out more tomorrow, but I doubt it'd be anything new, aside bugfixes.
Sony Ericsson has said before that there will be no more Android updates before ICS.
Nothing on PTCRB either... (http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=18648)
Sony Ericsson can't release new global firmware without getting it certified at PTCRB. As long as nothing new shows up there we won't see anything new either.
What do you mean by this? Android version or build number?
If it is the build, then its not that new. 4.0.2+ build is just gingerbread

Wasn't some time ago discussed that "D" stand for Dev build?
Probably nothing to be excited about.
A buids are consumer builds, B/C/D builds are either (heavily) branded or developer builds. Not worth using since they only get very irregular updates.
For now there is no newer official build than 4.0.2.A.0.62.
