ok this is strange yesturday i could use usb to my pc i was on cm7 nighlty 30 had no issues was working fine
today my 8gb sdcard turned up so i started the progress of swaping all my stuff to the 8gb sdcaed
but when i try and connect sd card wont connect to pc not in recovery nothink pc wont reconise the device im pritty good at pc fault but still no chance of getting it to work
any advice welcome
ps i dont have a sdcard reader as i got it and have one on order just strange it wont let me use recovery mount
i have wiped all the phone and reinstalled cm7 rc2 but still wont connect and check to see if usb debugging is ticked

I am trying to use odin and my computer will not recognize my phone when it is in download mode. It just tells me the device is not recognized. I have my drivers installed properly and my phone connects just fine when it is booted normally. I can connect with adb or mount the SD card with no problem.
This all started after I switched to Ext4 (Bonzai 2.0 and CWM3) and the usb totally stopped working. It wasn't really a problem until now so I wasn't stressing over it.
Last night I used the undo-backup that CWM3 made when it switched me to Ext4 and that got my USB working on the normal boot. Nevertheless, the download mode USB connection remains completely broken. I have used odin a bunch of times in the past, so I think this must be related to the switch to ext4 and/or CWM3.
When I was using Bonzai 1.4 with rfs odin was also working just fine. If anyone can try to help me out here I'd greatly appreciate it. If you need more info or whatever just let me know.
No one has any ideas of what I can do? I'd like to avoid having to go get a replacement if possible.
is it possibile to unroot the epic eb13 without having to use the cable/ odin / or anything computer related?
my phone is not working with odin or anything if i plug the usb in, but i am able to move stuff to and from my SD card by just putting the SD card in the computer.
took to sprint to try and get it repaired BUT cause they saw i was rooted they said they cant help me because i am rooted.
by the way i have tried VARIOUS methods of trying to get the usb to work by using 4 different usb cables. uninstall and install the drivers. different usb slots in the computer.
all keep showing

I had this problem when I was getting ready to upgrade from rooted DK18 to EB13. I wanted to backup my stuff first but the usb wouldn't recognize mass storage. I think I may have broke something when I started removing apk's and disabled touchwiz in favor of launcher pro. The phone worked fine but mass storage was not available. When I installed the Epic drivers on my laptop and connected my phone, the mass storage still wasn't recognized but Odin did see a connection.
If Odin still sees your connection on a different pc (disregard the windows error), then flash whatever firmware you need and all should be well.
Let me know if this helps.
PS....Don't forget to disconnect and reconnect your phone at least twice after installing drivers on a new pc. It takes at least 2 reconnects to install the drivers correctly...at least thats always been my experience.

Yes, but have you tried connecting to a different pc. I had the exact same issue on my desktop pc and then I tried on my laptop. For some unknown reason Odin worked fine (but still no mass storage).
At first I thought there was something wrong with my desktop's usb ports but after I flashed back to stock, suddenly mass storage was available on both my laptop and the original pc. Don't ask me why, it just worked.
Doesn't doing a hard reset make you lose ur root?

Yesterday I S-Offed my Wildfire and instelled CM7 rom.
But today I wanted to transfer some music to my phone and i couldn't do it.
When i plug USB cable into PC, my phone just charges and can't do anything more because phone doesn't show that it is plugged by USB. Just USB debugging turns on but I can't transfer anything to my phone.
Yesterday it was all OK but I flashed google apps and Jacob's kernel(v4.2). Maybe that is a problem.
I'm waiting for advice
I have a similar problem.
The phone also shows connect via usb option.
But on doing that, the phone does not show up on my pc.
When I go to "Disk Management" in computer management on windows 7, the disk shows up but I can't assign a drive letter to it and hence it is not accesible.
Can any1 help with the problem ?
Forgot to mention.
The problem does not appear when I connect my wildfire to my mac.
It shows up as as a disk drive when mounted.
I had a similar problem after installing CM7 so I got Multi Mount Sd-Card Lite from the market, put the widget on homescreen and click it each time i mounted my usb.

Don't flash Jacob's Kernel v4.2. Keep the stock one.

I re-installed CM7 and kept kernel which comes with rom.
Now I have NO problem with that.
So it was kernel problem.

What rom was you on and what kernel did you have installed
Use USB-Jig to force Note into Downloadmode,
if that is working you can go back to any stock firmware flashing with odin.
...like I mentioned in your other thread.

So why do you say your phone is bricked? Do you know what "bricked" means? it's just a problem with usb storage. It should be kernel related or ROM related.
Try another ROM or Kernel. Check root is properly done and read well before posting your phone is "bricked". That way, people can actually help you.

As joyo22 said - your phone is not bricked and looks like it is a kernel issue. Have you tried Abyss or Franco? They have both worked fine on mine and always have access to camera and sd card.
sorry i dont know what is Abyss or Franco,,,but the new problem is that my note is now dead, battery not charging at all,,pc,kies and odin cant recognize it,,,plz help

Basically im new to rooting etc. Just installed a new kernel that i download from xda. worked fine, but now all of a sudden when i plug my phone into my pc it wont pop up as mass storage, all i get on my phone is a popup saying... unable to find software on your pc that can recognise your device. Although odin can still see my phone has been plugged in? ive tryed two different cables although ive only got the fone 2days ago so the cable its still new, also tryed re-installing drivers...any help??!!
