DESCRIPTION: FireStormLEO
today i bring to you all my line of firestorm series that some might recognize from X1 and\or tp2 ROM DEV section.
all usual stuff from those builds are cooked in. based on the latest dump available to me. feel free to take them for a spin and let me know if im just wasting my time or something

Introduction:
this lil package is desided to work the same way as UC but has certain advantages
- no need to write txt files....
- no need to wait for UC to finish and reboot as silent_UC works on background!!!

Adding custome Manila BG for TR manila 2.1
- note that the app have codes of sample4...6..bla bla
- u need to extract \windows\29cff4fe_manila,058acf31_manila,77feee1d_manila, 70083a29_manila and change it to ur own BG using whaterer image
- now lets say u want to add the theme to sample5.....
- after applying the bg to the files, remame them to 29cff4fe_manila5 & 058acf31_manila5 and so on
- copy them to windows dir and apply using the app

NOTE: to make a BG, you need the following tools: CFC GUI (latest) and MS paint

I noticed you uploaded a 23xxx, 21xxx and 28xxx. I'm a big 21xxx fan, but don't know anything about the 28xxx branch. Is it new or stock? I remember seeing the number on my phone but I don't remember which phone or which ROM, LOL!
Your introduction / information posts don't mention that this is using Max Manila. I had to find that by clicking through a link.
Are you also planning to release a version with CoOkie's Home Tab? It's my current fave
Are you planning to use Tom's AutoInstaller? It sure made things a lot easier for me lately For me, the perfect ROM would be empty with tons of CABs to download and autoinstall, but maybe I'm just dreaming there...

?? I think that maybe your confused Ive been running agents ROMS for the better part of the year. for rhodium and now leo. I dont think that any of these builds use Max Manila at all. and Im pretty sure that ALL of them have Cookie mod cooked in. But definately come try after beta testing cuz Agents roms are amazing.Crazy fast and the best battery life ive experienced on any leo ROM.

loving this ROM, thank you. Fast and stable Preferred the 6.5 over the 6.5.X. Not really liking the big softkey buttons.

you need to dl "custom ruu" as well. use search, but some chefs include it with their roms so you might already have it.

if you flash another ROM before use the same "custom.ruu" that came with that ROM

uhm i dowalod the rom installed it correctly and it run up every thign work great except for one thing there no network at alll lik i cant call text anythign no wifi i try to reset it a couple time putting the sim in and out and see if it work but nothign loll no network or anythign is that normal

yes, it's normal for this rom. just go to the phone settings and change the bands to auto, that should fix your problem.

I too have enjoyed your roms on my tilt 2!! I have now got my hands on two HD2for aboot a month now and saw you were here making roms for HD2s. But I havent seen any news aboot updates or anything. So, i guess im just asking if there is any plans in work for updates?

Tainted Vanilla is still one of my favorite ROMs. It was fast, stable, and had a perfect mix of Vanilla/Sense. hoban_eris has stopped developing/supporting his ROM, and he was gracious enough to allow me to continue this project for him! My ultimate goal was to create the most stable, fully functioning 2.1 ROM available. I love the CM5 builds... but I still run into issues with reboots, etc. And until the CM6/Froyo builds are polished, I will use this ROM
That being said, I have attempted to create a ROM based upon the new JulyOTA (thanks to t2noob and the Plain_JaneT2 base) and "Taint" it with the latest AOSP build (As well as add some new features, etc).
I will also do my best to continue to support the original Tainted Vanilla 1.4 as well.

INSTALLATION NOTES:
YOUR PHONE MUST BE ROOTED! (BTW, that means your warranty is officially VOID)
BEFORE INSTALLING, BE SURE YOU HAVE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR SDCARD DATA AS WELL AS A GOOD NAND BACKUP
I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE, IF YOUR PHONE BREAKS, OR IF ANY GENERAL ILL-WILL COMES YOUR WAY ONCE FLASHING THIS ROM.
PLEASE NOTE: If your SDCard is not partitioned, it will need to be partitioned properly in order to use apps2sd. I recommend an ext3 partition with at least 512MB of space, with 0 swap/cache. As always, if you have questions, ask first! Also, if you already have programs installed to an ext3 partition, your programs will load up after you flash the ROM (i.e., DO NOT wipe your ext partition if you want your "old" programs to automatically restore).
TO INSTALL:
1) Load TaintedTenzo*.zip to the root of your SDCard.
2) With phone off, hold Power + Volume Up to boot into recovery
3) Choose "wipe" and press "Wipe data/factory reset" (I also recommend wiping Dalvik-cache as well), press down-key to go back to main menu
4) Choose "Flash zip from SDCard"
5) Choose TaintedTenzo*.zip
6) Confirm install by pressing trackball
7) After installation, choose to "Reboot system now"
First Boot can take up to 5-10 minutes.
After boot, HTC logo will appear for about 1 min, then setup screen appears
* Keep in mind that the HTC Mail app was removed... so attempting to setup an Exchange/IMAP/POP account from initial setup will FC (no ill effect on rest of setup). You can setup your unified mail inbox using the Vanilla Email app.

The DroidX Multi-Touch keyboard is included in the ROM. To select, long-press any text filed and select "Input Method > Multitouch Keyboard" (you can also select "Menu > Settings > Keyboard and Language" to select).

JIT is NOT enabled by default (going for a stable ROM with NO issues). The ROM is quite fast/responsive without it... and I can't stand random reboots, Pandora stuttering to a close, or NOT being able to use NFL Mobile with JIT enabled (among other stability/program issues). If you'd like to use JIT, you can simply "pull" the build.prop file (adb pull /system/build.prop) and change the following line:
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:fast
to
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit
then "push" back (adb push build.prop /system). You can also use a program like Root Explorer to change the file, save, and reboot.

I personally recommend using the default launcher/home. It's fast, stable... and a tasty Vanilla. If you like LPB, you can match the theme (blue/green) using the below settings (or similar).

as in notifications? they light up charge/notification, not trackball. missed calls/VM, etc, will still use trackball notifications.

i personally experience no dialer lag with this ROM. fast to bring up/dial contacts, fast between hang up/redial.

on my original 1.5 ROM, yes... I also had some lag on Ivan's Official as well.
i did NOT have any dialer lag with the original Tainted Vanilla.

Never got around to setting up apps2sd ... phone and storage space have been no issue so never saw a need.
Does this ROM automatically try to setup a2sd? Currently using xtr's 3.03, but would like to try this ROM. I just don't want to have something get torked because my SD is not partitioned.

I can say after using this rom over the last few weeks in beta that this rom is super stable and quick..... someone asked about dialer lag and i have had zero dialer lag
I have two eris's as of yesterday both are now running Tenzo.....

Well 1st I would like to say thank you for your work and so far this rom is running smooth and stable i think rooting is awesome but you have to be very selective and careful on what you flash AND this rom is a trusted one.
Note:soft key lights not active but i don't mind, keep up the good cookin,smells good

I was able to beta test this ROM as well, and can confirm that there is NO dialer lag at all. This is the fastest and most stable ROM I've ever flashed.

yes, it does setup a2sd automatically.
however, once the ROM loads... you can adb to shell (adb shell) and simply type "a2sd remove" to disable. reboot... and then you should be good to go (with un-partitioned sdcard). this should then have all apps install to internal storage.

thanks for the comments! i truly tried my best and BETA'd SEVERAL versions (then selectively released to testers). i wanted to release a solid ROM that didn't require any flashes/updates, etc...
also, soft-key lights should work fine. however, they should be mapped to prox sensor, so they probably won't work in "bright" light.

JIT is NOT enabled by default (going for a stable ROM with NO issues). The ROM is quite fast/responsive without it... and I can't stand random reboots and Pandora stuttering to a close with JIT enabled (among other stability/program issues). If you'd like to use JIT, I recommend using either of these methods here:

just a thought (my .02). JIT is a headache. it's "cool" to have nice linpack/quadrant scores... but what good is that (and besides, is 5+ mflops in linpack something to brag about? LOL). JIT causes issues w/too many progs i use (pandora, google listen, etc). i mean, some other ROMS benchmarks may be higher... but when Pandora crashes 3 minutes into streaming music, what good is it really?
while i LOVE JIT and the benefits it offers, it's just not stable enough on our Eris' for my likings (yet).
that being said... this ROM is FAST, SMOOTH and STABLE. hopefully others find the benefit in that as well
oh, and Flash 10.1 outta the box

Thank you for the information, I have been using Froyo roms for close to the last month with out an issue. But, I am going on vacation and want to put something very stable on my phone, but keep most of the HTC customization off of it (my .02, I want android not HTCDroid).
While I have not had any major issues running Froyo with JIT, my wife will probably use my phone and if it doesn't work normal, well, bad vacation.

no probs! and i hear ya w/the wifey and vacation! LOL...
JIT implementation with Froyo/CM6 (2.2 builds) is MUCH better and MUCH more stable. JIT was actually made to work w/those ROMS the 2.1 "hack" we use is GREAT... but again, for my needs, it just doesn't "help."
I'm very excited for the Froyo/CM6 builds... and they will all soon be very close to PERFECT (which is what i'm waiting for too).
that, however, is what led me to cooking up this ROM (and my initial love of Tainted Vanilla). I just wanted a good, solid, problem-free phone until 2.2 is polished enough for my daily liking

This IS pretty much as close as we can get to a 2.2.1 CAPTIVATE ROM , based on its little Chinese cousin i9088 , there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to run an OUTDATED 2.2 rom on your phone anymore !
In order to see your contacts Name/ Pictures during incoming calls :
You need to add ' +1 ' in front of every number , if your like me and your lazy you can use Number fixer to 'bulk fix your contacts

works fine here .. I have over 100 apps .. worked fine all week actually ..
I suggest you reflash or make sure your back up are not somehow corrupted ..

Yes it is real,
i am using the rom now and it is very ok
i encourage people to use the rom because it is also fast apart from the battery life.

This is great, battery life is good, fast and reliable rom
i hope you will keep up the good job

This rom seems to have a excellent battery life. Can we have some more feedback from users?

how good is the battery life???
can i have some comments before/after using this rom
if i am not wrong playing music, or sms will not drain battery in worse way. but 3g web browsing does
I know stock OS 8701 has great battery life: ( check out my poll here : Battery life after OS 7.10.8107 Update) because i am using it now . but is it due to 8710 or the rom maker's own work?
Its probably due to cpu and ram working less harder i guess
but next gen rom has IPv6 which is related to 3G signal
thats a real battery life saver as IPv6 save 50% battery life on mobile devices constantly connected to the tower
If IPV6 can be incorporated into this rom, that will be great

@Magpir. I need to downgrade my bootloader fr 5xxx.to flash this rom I saw u at the threads for downgrading which method did u use? can share? I sold my other hd7 on deepshinng n i just bought this one today as i read that its possible to downgrade n it was cheap thought i buy it to try n downgrade bootloader. Thanks if u can help.

presently u cant using any simple flashing method
but only goldcard method works which requires use of some external equiment
check the gold card thread.

so the method postrd by ansar dun work for sg rom, guess i'll try the gold card with the cut n join usb cable n the ruu rom i need to downgrade, u uploaded 2 on fileshare i think, are both on 1.2xx?

if you think that IPv6 can save battery i'm glad to say that this rom has IPv6...
but i can't test 3G connection for battery usage....cause in iran we just have 2G...

there is 2 method that i tested...
1-gold card...
2-SLSPL...you can see this method in this topic...
the 2nd method has some limitation...but it's much easier i think...

C. Partition your sd-card:
Simplest way is to use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" from http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html
This tool is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista & Windows 7
requirements: USB SD Card reader.
pull SD card from phone, insert into USB SD Card reader,you can do it with your usb cable mount Sd-crad. Windows should report new drive and content of the drive should be visible.
• step 1: delete old partitions on SD card
Note: this partition manager QUEUES the operations. So nothing is deleted and changed UNTIL you click "APPLY" and then confirm by clicking "OK".
WARNING!
Make sure you are deleting partition on SD card! (not your hard drive for example)
This step deletes everything on SD card, so backup files first!
Dont be afraid, just read everything and think twice before selecting correct drive.
Do you see three gray icons on the bottom? Under each of them the capacity of each drive is listed, and SD CARD has slightly different icon.
Hard drives on the screenshot have 465.8GB and 74.5GB, and on the bottom, the SD card, with 3.8GB capacity.
• step 2: create FAT or FAT32 partition “ note that this partition is for storing your media, etc..”
select "Create As": PRIMARY
Select "File System:" FAT when you have 2GB or smaller card.
Select "File System:" FAT32 when you have 4GB or greater card.
• step 3: select the 2nd partition and select "Create As": PRIMARY
NOTE:
Stock roms with stock kernel will support fat32
Stock roms with custom kernels “ like CF-Root” may support both fat32/ext4 “check their threads”
Cm7/cm9 roms will support ext4
Here Is a NOTE:
For a wired reason, in both cm7/cm9 roms if formatted your 2nd partition with ext4 format, link2sd wont create mount script, unless you have selected ext3 “although the format was converted to ext4”
• step 4: finish
finally, click "apply" button on top left corner.
partitions will be created and card will be formatted.
Reattach your sd card to your phone and turn it on. (you can also do it With usb Connection )
Chose your Vertion Of Beta3 , Light or Ultimate copy it to sd-card
Reboot your phone to ClockWorkMod
Flash ClockWorkMod 5:

the Phone Reboot Automaticaly when installation Done
if It stay on blank screen remove the Baterry an turn on again
For better Performance :
go to settings , performance, processor, cpu governor select SmartassV2

Tips
first time boot you can't mount storage reboot and it work well
connect your phone to charger, let it fully charge and then reboot it. after reboot deep sleep should be working properly
S3 app you can install like normal Apk :
S-voice
1- install S-voice
2- go to settings , Language&imput ,voice recogniser , selsect Samsung powered by vlingo
3- go to settings , Language&imput , text-to-speech output and select Pico TTS
4- now s-voice work perfectly on your ace

issue with dta2sd and link2sd?
my experience, all latest cm9 based rom (maclaw cm9 and nims11 miui4) have issue with dta2sd and link2sd..they doesn't work
but this is cool ROM after all.. nice work..
