I love this little phone but there has been a lack of development making it kind of boring so all the potential has been sucked away.
I intend on changing this and breathing new life into this phone.
So i will be donating my Continuum plus the one i bought today to
Adrynalyne and imnuts
This will leave me without one but sometimes you have to take one for the team.
So hopefully we will see some great things from them in the days to come.

thanks bro, i cant wait to see what they are able to do with these devices. i know they are similar to the fascinate but they have the added advantage of the ticker they may be able to do some cool stuff with it

While the Continuum wouldn't be my first choice of a phone, it does have a decent form factor, and it doesn't seem quite as bad as I was expecting it to be Hopefully we can get something going here for you guys then to help breathe some life into this device.

As I proceed with my Android4Autism plans I need to have an idea of the types of devices people are willing to donate. I may have to outsource ROM development depending on the device and whether or not I have time to put a working ROM together for each type.
So as the EVO 3D and GSII prepare for launch what will you be doing with your old device? Perhaps you have an old Hero or even a Moment. If you are willing to support this cause please indicate what device you are willing to or able to donate.
Remember the status of the ESN does not matter. These device will NOT be activated. They need to be in "decent" and working condition. Remember these are going to go into the hands of special needs kids so they do need to be perfect.
Also, I can use micro sd cards (any size) and phone cases. Extra battery chargers would be welcomed.
Please indicate in the poll what you are able to or willing to donate. I'm not ready to receive any donations yet so please just hang on to them and maybe shoot me a PM with your pledge and email address so I can contact you when I'm ready.

Maybe offer to Paypal them some cash? i know I'd chip in. Heck, right now I'll say I'll paypal $50 to the first person or team that gets me rooted. If everyone chipped in, even a few bucks, it could really add up and create an incentive...

I know people want the update but honestly the devs are working on it and giving them money isnt going to make them come up with a soultion faster they need time.
Now when they release something a donation is a great way to say thanks but we dont want to rush them

I haven't heard about anyone working on it. I believe they are working on it for other devices.
Throw me down for $50 as well.
So, we've got $100 already...come on...lets offer some incentive for the devs to come back to the EVO Shift for a while...
Im telling you the devices they work on are related to the shift and they can port the same methods. They are already working on the shift and other devices related to it

I remember the same talk regarding rooting 2.2.... everyone saying no one was working on it and then BAM! Root.
The thing is development doesn't get done on XDA. When it's done it gets posted to XDA. Just because you don't see it happening doesn't mean it ain't. Imagine you're a dev: Would you post that you're working on it if you're unsure if you can do it? It'd accomplish nothing but dissapointment.

I know it is fustrating to wait I am among the many waiting for the same thing. That being said you never hear what the developers are working on because they dont want to give off any clues to htc as to what they are doing so HTC dont send a silent OTA to seal up any exploits that may gain root for us. But to the team that does get the job dont I will be donating to them definatly I cant wait to get my hotspot back for my Iconia Tablet when I am on the road.

Right, bad new for me... My MD has decided today that everyone has to have a BB 9900, so my S2 which was going to be with me tomorrow is no more... To say I'm upset and pissed off would be an understatement, but alas, nothing I can do about it...
So if I hang around here beyond now it would be seen as a bit weird and creepy, so it's goodbye all... I won't miss the repetitive posts and questions, but I will miss the great humour and pen craft...

New BB arrived today, still hasnt been configured but I had a quick play...
Design is the usual, but back to the original width so larger than the recent ones... It is the thinnest one ever though... Feels well built and looks pretty smart... Keyboard does feel like the best BB one yet, but the keys above them are shiny so show fingerprints... Back is weird if you ask me... The battery cover is basically clear plastic/glass over a textured surface, again finger prints, but different I suppose...
Now then, OS7... What can I say? Same'ol'same old...As crap as ever but with a brand new lick of paint... Touchscreen works, but I just thought, what's the point really...
Read a post over at crackberry and some guy got rid of his S2 for one of these things... We might have some intellectually challenged members, but what does that make him?!
Anyway, I'd like to introduce you all to a great new charity... It's called the 'Get Caspa an S2 as his work decided to get him a BB 9900 at the last minute Fund', a great cause as he shouldn't have to suffer in this way... I'm sure you'll agree...
Rest assured, 100% of donations will go to the fund and remember, YOU can make a real difference in Caspa's life...

Don't you have a mobile of your own mate or do you just rely on your job to provide you with a phone?You can get the GS2 for free on contract in UK if you cant afford to purchase it outright although i always recommend purchasing outright and avoid long contracts.
Even if i had a job that provided a phone id still ensure i had my own phone and it wouldn't be a bloody iPhone or Blackberry either.

Easy fix for that... resurrect your continuum and come back to the fold.
So get this. This chick I know had a DX2 and the screen wouldn't work right for her. I saw on facebook she was selling it so I asked how much and she said $20. I think maybe I can get it working and for 20 bucks, why not. I buy it from her a couple hours ago, plug my charger in and it works just fine. So I got a DX2 for $20 and I'm sorry to say it but I might not be around here as much. But thank you so much everybody for all you have done for the Continuum. When I first got it I was a little disappointed but after all the hard work from everybody it made the Continuum awesome.

One day I was on the verge of smashing my continuum after failed verizon and samsung support for this device. Tired of the same old crap I scoured the internet far and wide looking for ways to improve my experience before giving up. Then a friend referred me to this forum, and I must say that I no longer have the urge to flush my phone like the piece of crap it once was! I have been silently scoping the forum daily until today when I decided that the very least I can do is register to give thanks to the many such as yourself who have invested time into making this device what it is today. Thank you for making me not want to break my phone
I recently switched over to Verizon and got a Razr MAXX (or is it RAZR Maxx?). anyway, I have a T-Mobile Vibrant to get rid of. The XDA community has done so much for me and helping me keep my phone in tip-top shape that I've decided to give back.
The phone was returned to stock JFD. No bells and whistles, and the included 2 gb microSD is with it, with the Avatar movie intact. I have the original charging cord, the two included backs, a CaseMate case AND (big surprise) the Samsung 1650 mAh along with the stocker 1500 mAh battery.
if the phone goes to a Dev for the sole purpose of helping out the Vibrant community, it will go to him/her for free and I'll pay for shipping. if there isn't a Dev out there that needs the phone, I'm asking $100 not including shipping. I think that's fair with the CaseMate case and extra battery. the only wear on the phone is around the charging port.

Not saying you haven't contributed to the community (you definitely have), but I think maybe for someone developing roms, kernels, fixes is more entitled to the free phone. If you feel different I'm not one to tell you you're wrong, I'm just saying.

Not sure about the Cliq camera part as I have no idea what that is.
I have all the source downloaded and have it synced to github, I just need a device to apply it too that is not my daily driver. All I said was that I have sent him a PM and have been looking for one for some time. I know that I don't have any development topics, hence why I am wanting to get another phone.
Frankly this post pissed me off. It'll pass but I'm just saying

I think that's fair with the CaseMate case and extra battery. the only wear on the phone is around the charging port.

Not for his old baby, its a corrupt internal partition structure and corrupted internal sd. I even manually tried the reparted method, matching the partitions to exactly match mine, and it still won't play.

So after thinking about this for a bit, because I certainly don't want any hard feelings towards anyone, I have decided to send the phone to Dan_Brutal. The reason behind this is because I was/am extremely partial to EDT's work (I ran Project V on this phone the most).
Dan, I'm sending you a PM with my email address. shoot me an email with the necessary info for shipping. I'll try to get it out by Thursday this week.

Had no idear. I have Dan's bad Vibrant here at my place, would it do you any good? Not sure if you solder, or if yo would be able to replace the usb port. I'm sure Dan would let me ship it, or parts, to you if you wanted to try. The usb port on it is fine.
