[Q] SBF Mirror - Milestone 2 General

Hi,
I think I screwed up a little bit my Android system on my Milestone 2, and I would like to restore the operating system to its original state. This task would be easy if... Motorola hadn't delete all the SBF files from their public server...
Could someone provide me the French Milestone 2 Service SBF file?
Thanks,
Gabriel

If you can wait until tomorrow I might have mirrors up for all the Milestone 2 Service SBF's

I sure can wait, as my phone is not bricked (yet ).
Thanks a lot!

Well... that went quicker than I thought...

Mirrors for SBFs

I've downloaded all Milestone 2 Service SBFs and mirrored them. Apparently quite some people are looking for them, so here they are.
I suggest you download them, while the links last
FYI: These were the only SBFs for the Milestone 2 that ever have been publicly available! So no, there are no Chinese or Asians SBFs and I don't know how to get them!

please, please please!!!
italian sbf!!!
thank you!!!!
As far as I know there isn't an SBF for an Italian Milestone 2. You should probably use the UK SBF.
The SBFs I provided are the only ones that have been available.
Thanks a lot mate!
Thanks you so much
I have updated -> http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2
Cool thanks everyone!
I now has an Optus SBF for whence I need it
Chinese?
Does the "CH" in DE, AT, CH mean Chinese? So somehow one ROM supports Chinese plus European language? Othewise, is there a Chinese version? Sorry if this is a stupid question...
CH is Czech.
There is no European ROM that supports Chinese AFAIK. Furthermore there haven't been any Chinese/Asian SBFs publicly available, at least not via the official Motorola Repo.

Anyway to get the Asian SBF, for Singapore's?
Whats it mean?
This is a such a noob question, so forgive me for my arrogance, I'm still learning a lot about Android ROMs... but, what exactly IS a Service SBF? What does SBF stand for? Thanks for any answers.

If someone knows the filename of the SBF and if that file is still online on Motorola's server it could be possible.

Not sure what SBF stands for, but I've read "System Boot File"
The service doesn't replace the /data partition, non-service versions do. So simply said a Service SBF only replaces the system, without removing user data. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
thanks,,,,,,,,
thanks for this..
do I just apply the sbf via RSD?

Yes. Make sure you use version 4.9
Thanks for the share
btw I have very little experience in android. so I better ask you guys to increase my understanding. As far as I know SBF is ultimate savior for bricked android phone. If that happen, you just have to use RSD lite to flash your phone with SBF. Is that right? get me straight if I was wrong.
But I still confused about several things
1. Do SBF is the same with factory reseted rom?
2. Do I have to use the right SBF version (UK, Brazil, DE or whatever) for my MS2 or we can change it to different version?
3. How can I know my SBF version?
Regards
DE = German
AT = Austria
CH = Switzerland

Pretty much! As long as your MS can boot into recovery (hold camera and power up and then press the power button)
But I still confused about several things
1. Do SBF is the same with factory reseted rom? - Yes, but it also restores the phone to complete stock build (ie if youve rooted it, or removed and crapware) that will also be restored.
2. Do I have to use the right SBF version (UK, Brazil, DE or whatever) for my MS2 or we can change it to different version? - 4.9 is the latest. To get your phone to show up, make sure you have all the phone's drivers installed on your machine first.
3. How can I know my SBF version? - Generally goes by country/continent..
Regards
These SBF's will not erase the data partition! So all user date will be in tact after flashing it.

[Q] Desperately need ARG sbf!

Hello, please forgive me if i do anything wrong, i'm new to the forum and I really need help as i've been doing research on my problem for days now...
I just got a european (german) Droid Pro and was a bit upset about the fact that i couldn't upgrade to Android 2.3, so I decided to try CM9 and at the beginning everything looked as it would turn out quite well, but after a while of testing I noticed the Phone application would not work at all.
After restoring my backup the Pro didnt manage to get over the Motorola Logo anymore, so i became nervous and tried SBF, now my phone is bricked (Code Corrupt) because i belive i used the Verizon SBF... stupid me!
I've heard that i could use the Argentinian SBF to get it all working again but all the links i've found are dead, and i've been looking for them for about 5 hours now! Does anyone of you have the SBF and could reupload it in any way? That would be brilliant!
Oh and Greetings from Germany, XDA!
Don't use rsdlite!!
But only sbf_flash under linux!!
BRILLIANT, thank you so much, it worked!
wow... it's like magic
Thank you!

Dudes ever heard of flashing? LOL, Go ahead get a copy of RSD lite 4.9 and up, have worked fine for me (win 7 x64) (or use sfb flash if using linux)
then search this forum for the XPRT sbf that suits your need, (remember, read thoroughly so you wont download the wrong file) and that's all.
RSDlite
REMEMBER Sprint Branded phones may be flashed both with sprint or Boost SBFs, but Boos branded phones will only take Boost SBFs.
The SBF files you may find them here in the forum, just search for sprint 2.3.5 sbf or boost 2.3.5 sbf,

First - it's sbf not sfb. SBF is a file format used in bootloader flasher RSDlite. And what meaning you mean rom? Rom as a part of memory or rom as a new system? Well sbf and rom it's one and the same thing, also rom is internal memory where you can put your files.

Ok, thank you for your answer.
I just wondered difference between sbf and a custom rom, and why custom rom (like CyanogenMod) aren,t in sbf format...
Sbf more easy to use and without root!
Well sorry. My journey and experience grows with every month.
Okay:
SBF file is an ultimate file with all modules and partitions developed by manufacturer. It means that in sbf you have everything - bootloader updates, specific kernel, android system files, motorola drivers, motorola software, radio (GSM) update and many other things that i don't even know that they exist So imagine that you just have device, with nothing, empty - only bootloader. SBF file will make your device live properly.
In case of custom roms, you have only system data, so - no update of bootloader, radio etc. Sometimes (not in motorola), rom package can contains new kernel, but that's all (for our droid kernel's are separate zip's). I think that creation of sbf file is just not necessary, and can be difficult (i think because of motorola closed source of RSDlite and sbf), opposite to installation from recovery(Recovery is power-users creation and it's open source, so everybody can access instructions how he can build rom to work with Recovery - much easier huh?). And if you 've had empty device, with custom rom you won't be able to start.
That's why sbf files are used to unbrick device.
And by the way and warning - Argentinian SBF file contain radio update which corrupt GSM signal. 3G works fine, but 2g (gsm) is terrible, and there's no fix for this, since argentinian sbf contains also bootloader update which means you cannot flash any other sbf than argentinian using RSDLite.

Fresh info based on dettofatto's (and mine) experience - it is possible to have argentinian rom with eu radio. You just have to flash argentinian sbf using sbf_flash under linux.

[Q] Working Stock SBF (Froyo) for defy mb525 bricked : /

I have did a great blunder :crying:. I have rooted my phone and have not took any back up. I was installing new font. Due to that i dunno how the system font became bold and with some whimsical mind (eh :silly: i thought not to read stuff and tried this stupid thing) i deleted a font file something like droid bold something. When I rebooted it was bricked eh and I have no back up of SBF anything else than contacts. Now I am searching for stock SBF but all those given on other posts are now not available. Please give me working link or suggest me any solution to get it in working condition again:
My phone as I have checked before is SoC model and have froyo 2.2 I again did mistake not have saved full specifications anywhere one more thing that it says made in china.
Try one link from this page forum.frandroid.com/topic/54848-rom-stock-android-froyo , if it doesn't work for you, I have this one : JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_164-003_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTFR_P014_A008_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf and I can upload it on a server if you need.
