Audio Routing crap - Epic 4G General

Has anyone looked at the audio routing bugs plaguing DK17+ kernels? I find it hard to believe there is no interest in getting these bugs fixed. There's two major bugs (I have experienced) related to this issue: having to toggle the speaker inside a phone call in order to get sound in/out, and; all sounds coming out through earpiece after stopped use of a bluetooth headset.

Why don't u just flash the EB13 official froyo on ur phone instead of still running a leaked version. I think that might help u out

seriously ???
his post says "DK17+" meaning everything since DK17.. up to and including EB13.. the current build has been plagued with this crap too.
EDIT: I'm no developer, but I recognize Forcystos as a great dev.. I'd be happy to dig into some code if you can point me in the right direction.

GPS worse running Bionix 1.2.1

So I decided to root and install Bionix on my phone after the Kies 2.2 update pretty much destroyed my phone.
I've searched on the forum so far to no avail.... My GPS is far worse running the Bionix-V 1.2.1 rom... The rom is absolutely wonderful, but the GPS takes minutes to catch on, then when it finally does get signal, it either has me going in the wrong direction, or a street over or something... which doesn't help any.... but then after about a half hour it will finally work normally...
Does anyone have a fix for this as I sold my cars dashboard stupid garmin GPS cuz I had my awesome Google Nav... in which the GPS doesn't work... Yippeee... What a dumb mistake.
GPS really slow to fix on a signal on mine too. Sorry, I can't provide many details cuz i'm a noob.
try out,a,different modem. Personally I have, good results (gps) with jl5 and kb1 modems. Scrizz has a list of,them in,his, sig. Or check his, thread in,the development thread. On,a side note, I hate how the comma is placed next to the space bar in swype!

I recommend downloading SGS Tools from the Market and using that to get into LBSTestMode and deleting your GPS Data. If that doesn't work, flash a different modem.
I had the same problem you're describing. Deleting GPS Data cleared it up immediately.

My bad, come to think of it, it might have been pulled from the market. You can find the latest version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775154&page=37
I remember coming across an interesting thread about a month ago which provided instructions on how to physically modify the gps contacts on the circuit board so that it made a better contact with the gps antenna, thus improving the gps once and for all regardless which ROM you use. As one can expect, this is not for the faint of heart. Since I don't use my phone for its gps, I didn't have any reason to try the solution out. The only reason I remember it was because it was the first time I've read of a non-software solution for the gps issues that plague these phones.
If you were inclined to try it, I would imagine that you can locate the article easily by googleing it. If not, pm me and I'll see if I can find the article in my browsers history.

It's the link in my signature. Although if his GPS was working before flashing the new ROM it's most likely fixable without having to crack open his phone. You're right, it's not for the feint of heart, and sadly it appears to be a necessary thing for most SGS owners to undertake.
Oh my bad, didn't realize you already provided the link.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well, I guess I technically did but I didn't mention it....plus it is kinda small in my signature. No worries
I have sgs tools installed already. I have the latest version. I hit gps fix but same results.
The gps on this phone has never worked correctly since i bought the phone in august.
What do you mean flash a new modem. Could u provide a newb guide.
Thank you guys, or if someone has another suggestion please list it.
Thanks!

Don't hit GPS Fix. Do this:
Secret Codes > GPS-Test and settings (LBSTestMode) > Delete GPS Data
You can flash a new modem the same way you flashed the ROM through ClockWork, but try deleting GPS data first. Personally, I prefer the KA7 or KB1 modem for GPS, but every device is different.

Thank you all for the quock replies it is ka5 which apparently sucks
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
TW put KA5 in the ROM because it's the best balance of battery life and reception. For GPS, yeah, it definitely sucks. In my experience, on my phone, JL5, KA7 and KB1 provide the best GPS Reception
Thank u for ur input KW. I just installed the kb1. Its a definate improvement but the gps still sucks. Only this phone has so many problems. Such a nice phone its so sad

Give it some time (a day or so). Don't be afraid to try out different modems. I keep pretty much every modem and ever kernel in folders on internal SD just to play with.

Fingerprint reader stops working

It seems that if I use my phone (ie, run another app or basically minimize the call status and do anything) while on a call using bluetooth I cannot unlock with the finger scanner any longer. Im not sure if that is the exact scenario that causes it but it always seems to happen after I use bluetooth which I only use for long work calls. A restart fixes it. Anyone else seeing this?
Tnx, Mark

Happens to me too
Yep I have the same problem. Seems like it always occurs after phone calls when I haven't restarted my phone in a few days, so I just restart and forget about it.
+1 for me...same exact scenario.
Same here, but if you bothered to search you would of found that it is a known issue with this phone and there is nothing to do to fix it besides rebooting.

CM9 for Galaxy Tab 2!

It's exactly what the title says...it's on another certain forum that starts with a r...I'm using it right now...already excellent as a daily driver...though the author says it's barely alpha...I would highly advise checking it out! Surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet..

From the thread:
What's not working:
--Audio Capture (voice commands, camcorder audio)
--Bluetooth Bluetooth actually works for connecting and data transfer..will not work for audio as I haven't gotten there yet.
--Chrome Beta not working yet
--YouTube not showing in market (and probably a few others (although you can download and sideload YouTube from the link below and it works, also webviewing YouTube works)

I personally wouldn't really want to use that unless at least the Chrome and audio issues were fixed (those are also the reasons I abandoned the AOKP ROM here).
I use the stock browser, and i can wait on Bluetooth a2dp, so yeah, if those are deal beakers, not a good rom, other than that, it's working flawlessly...

No ROM that is made from AOSP has these features that you "need" in them currently due to kernel source not being complete from Samsung.
Blame Samsung, not any development. Have fun on TouchWiz while the rest of us test drive the future of our tablets.
PS: No one is making you use these roms.
I didnt't mean to sound critical, only to mention some of the limitations that prevent me and people a lot like me from using it as a daily. No offense or criticism intended.
Can somebody link to cm9, and make a small guide on how to root and flash.

CM9 with stock kernel?
Would it be possible to make a CM9 rom with the stock kernel so that mic and other things work?
To answer a couple of questions, it's my understanding that it's against forum rules to link to an outside forum....afraid you'll have to google it.
Also, CM9 requires an AOSP kernel, so the stock kernel wouldn't be compatible.
Not the answers anyone wanted, but that's my take.

The sound not working wasnt because of the kernel source. I just hadnt gotten to it yet
Samsung released new kernel sources that work so the heavier fixing can begin. Last build had working mic as well as the sound. Still need to get bluetooth audio working but dont have a headset to test with :'( . Going to see if I can borrow one for a few days so I can get it working.

[Q] Mytouch Mic not working during calls

I could use a bit of help. It seems that the microphone in my mytouch doesn't want to work during phone calls anymore. It still works using the voice recorder and using the google voice search functions. I am not sure why it no longer works for phone calls. Bluetooth and wired mic still work tho.
I am running CM7.2 stable with stock radio.
I tried an ICS rom and flashed an audio libs fix, but when I reverted back to CM7, I wiped everything and formatted system. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hmm, you could flash the low mic fix. It's in 0.0's github which is linked in his sig. Check any of his many posts.

If you want to do a teardown, you could possibly replace the mic yourself. Just need some heat gun soldering skills and a part number to buy from digikey or another chip seller.
Here is the link to the FCC pics.

in another post in here i did see the screenshots, but still not sure which part is the mic. I can solder so if there's a replacement, i'd give it a go.

This site has the link to the fcc page.
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2993
Just need to search in there for a pdf of the internal images. The mic has to be removed using a heat gun as there are not solder pads on the back of the circuit board. I am curious if there are any markings on the mic itself, so I could look for another one from digikey or somewhere. The pictures from the fcc filing aren't too detailed on the mic itself. You can see it under the black thing in there. Looks like a small rectangular chip with one hole in it.
Mic works on Stock ROM but, Not on custom ROM
I was running CM7, CM9, CM10 and a few other ROMs. My mic would not work during calls or video/voice recording. I thought somehow the mic died. Then, I decided to flash back to stock and the mic is working again. Anyone have any idea what may cause this and also, what I may do to get it to work with a custom ROM?

Headset issue. Anyone know if theres a fix

I have the Sprint version stock LG g2 and can not find an answer to headphone button issue. Not matter what set I use I can not get it to skip or pause track. One click goes to dailer two clicks calls last person. Hold the button goes to voice command. I have tried every app I could find. Nothing works. Best I can get is a set from galaxy s3 and s4 will control volume but button does same thing. I keep reading online that s4 set works perfect. Any ideas I really don't want to root if possible

Same problem here. I rooted yesterday, but still don't know how to resolve the issue.
Just seams with as many people that use there phones for music, Pandora, etc that LG would have fix for this. I love the phone. I think it's the best one I have had in a long time but music lovers have to hate this issue and hope a fix is found.

I too can't believe that this is not a widely known issue. I have looked through all of the stock settings and have not found any control for this. I have also looked through several Xposed modules and found nothing.
