Getting my Transformer, Whats your suggestions?

Hello,
Week ago I ordered ZPAD T8, got one with defective touch bug. So shipping it back tomorrow to China.
Instead today ordered an Asus transformer (In Israel charged me 650USD...Not cheap)....
Should arrive within 2 days...
whats your suggestions for:
-- Rooting?
-- Best performance, look and feel Rom?
-- Keyboard Dock? How really I need it? and where get it at cheapest rate online? (free shipping?)
-- Anyway plug to it 3G USB modem? besides wifi spot/mifi....
Any more suggestions, appreciated
Thanks!

whats your suggestions for:
-- Rooting? nvflash seems to be the one everyone talks about. head over to the dev forums
-- Best performance, look and feel Rom? I hear a lot about Prime 1.5 (soon to be 1.6 i believe) again, hit the dev section
-- Keyboard Dock? How really I need it? and where get it at cheapest rate online? (free shipping?) Havent bought one simply because i bought he tablet for the tablet alone. When they hit around the 100 dollars, ill consider it.

welcome. Im not rooted nor have i tweaked my transformer yet, but i do snoop around a lot in this forum. Its become one of my 3 DAILY check ins
just look around and read up son some stuff.
You should definitely buy a docking station. That the biggest point of the TF.
- Rooting NVFlash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123429
- ROM: ROMs are all based off Honeycomb. Not much are changed for the most part. The "Prime" series ROM are a good choice but it's not updated to the latest OTA (8.4.11) yet. It should be soon. So by the time you get it, look out for Prime 1.6.
- Meh. It's up to you, I don't have a dock.
- 3G USB. You need the dock. The tablet itself does not have a USB slot, the dock has two. Your only other alternative is to tether via your phone.

Depends what your main usage fot the TF will be, as a tablet its pretty decent, but only has a micro SD card and mini HDMI, it is more versatile than the ipad with regards to the file system etc, combine it with the dock and proper mouse and you have a totaly different beast, it instantly becomes a fast capable netbook. its like a macbook air and ipad all in one. Even the 16gig with 2 32gig cards will be sufficient with all the cloud based storage available. I have a 1TB drive plugged into mine on the desktop. This is the ultimate system at the moment and if apple had thought of it that would have been it game over. Its never gonna compete with the macbook air on speed and beauty but blows it away on versatility. If microsofts and googles cloud based office take off it will be perfect. A recent survey I read said pc sales were badly affected by tablet sles because tablet owners were rarely using their pc's, with this you have the best of both worlds. As a android tablet its as good as the rest with price point probably better. With the dock its way ahead. Mine was £429 with the dock bundled both B50 series, no problems with either, slight bottom of screen light bleed but no worse than my ipad, and rarely visible. Enjoy your TF and grab a dock, its superb quality and looks great with the Tablet.

If you want to use a versatile all round performance of a tablet+netbook, go for TF. If you want only stylish performing fast tablet only, then I suggest Galaxy Tab 10.1
Depends on your usage really. But TF gives an excellent value for money for its given performance and features.

What I did to root my Transformer (when it was stock) was use Nvflash. It roots your stock 3.1, and gives the option to install ClockWorkMod over the default Asus recovery, keeping the stock ROM.
After that, I copied over my favorite ROM and Kernel onto my 4GB Micro-SD card, booted into CWM, and installed them!
Every ROM you install comes rooted I believe, and because all Kernel's and ROM's don't alter the Honeycomb OS too much, Hebrew support should be there.

android 3.2 port possible?

I don't know if this is the right section if not Im sorry!
is it possible to port 3.2 from the xoom to our 10.1v?
I saw it happening in the acer Iconia A500 forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167391
And because we are also running stock honeycomb on the 10.1v it should be possible to port right?
there are to less developers for the 10.1v, check the 10.1 development page for example.

[Q] HTC Flyer rom on A500

just wanted to ask if there is a HTC flyer ROM that can be installed on a Acer Iconica A 500 have been looking for a while and can't seem to find any info about it
PLEASE help me
I wish! Let me know if you find one! I love htc!
Unlikely. The Flyer is a 7" device and the whole UI is designed for that size, so it's not going to look good on a 10" one. Plus, it has special hardware (the pen digitizer) that the A500 is lacking so its most useful feature would have to be stripped.
what about any htc sense port to the a500?
The puccini is 10 inches. I know it would be hard but I would donate to it!!
Any projects currently working towards this?

[Q] Convert the Milestone into an Atrix --> lap dock use?

Hello from Germany,
I hope my questionn isnt considered nonsense. Today, ive seen a good offer for the Motorola
Lap dock (was around 100 Euros). Since the Atrix and the Milestone share the mini usb and seem do be pretty similar in general (concerning the case)l i was wondering, if there is
any way to make the Milestone work in this special dock.
I love the idea of having a notebook-smartphone hybrid but dont want to change my phone (love the milestones keyboard).
Looking forward to hear what you guys think!
No
The answer to this question is simple no.
I have both the atrix and the milestone 2 and they don´t look to similar. Also the Lapdock needs a hdmi port of the atrix, the milestone hasn´t got one. Further more atrix is a dual core phone and has more ram. And thats not even the software site of it.
Sorry to say but this part is not useable for the milestone 2.
Were have you seen the lapdock for 100€?
