[Q] Swiftdroid feature request - GT540 Optimus General

Hello!
Don't have post count yet and don't want to spam the forums so I write here - hopefully some1 will merge.
Great work on 2.3.2 and thank you Mur4ik for your effort.
If possible, I would like search bar to be always visible on contacts tab.
Can you make overclock more stable? I'm seeing 40 - 50 MHz difference from 2.2.
CPU passes "stress" test but is unstable in some applications ...
And, of course, known GPS melting battery issue ...
Cheers.

I second your suggestion regarding the search bar in contacts.
One more thing, the phone icon should open the dialpad not the last tab opened in that screen.

Another thing, not sure if this is going to help, but an offline manual(for stuff like, today I had to find what the name of Neocore, which I just found out about to measure fps).

i love trying new builds and motomans have been pretty good. downloading now and report back my opinions and feed back.
I bet Motoman will be thrilled.
Can you really call this a "build" ?
Imho this is the best Android build out there hope you have discussed this with the man .
Hi, this Android build is smooth and fast but I'm unable to login my google account for market and the "BlackMarketApp" does not work (None of content to be displayed, only heading of applanet.net), pls help!!!!!!
Thank you.
fix titanium backup problem???
Call history
My call history is still empty in V 0.3A.1
first impression.....
chef,
w/ limited time to play around with newest build, my impressions are.....
+'s:
~so far, battery life has been excellent compared to other builds i have used.
~apps that i have had alil trouble to install on other builds, had no problem here (so no probs using google account or market)
~visuals are nice.
~pics and vids are nice
~call history is fine
-'s:
~downloading apps on wifi is slow, but i just need more patience i guess.
~i noticed to wake up phone from standby tends to take alil bit longer and inconsistent, but seems to take less time and alot more consistent as time goes on, so this will likely move up to + comments above.
~applanet, gives me message of "...install blocked...for security, phone is set to block installation of apps not from android market.."
keep it up.

Hmm I requested this from motoman a while ago and he confirmed but I assume he is too busy...
Anyways is there an easy way to put the clock back into the notification bar? On the one with the non circular battery.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
So does this 0.3A.1 have the blue battery or the green circular one? Screenshot shows the blue one but 0.3A is the green circle battery??

I know its motomans and I know that the original 0.3A has the green cirular battery. Its just whether he meant to name it 0.3.1 instead of 0.3A.1 or that he has attached the wrong screen shots!
Ok guys. Is there a way to change the celcius settings? I want to use the fahrenheit setting and can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance.

i haven't figured that out yet on this rom. i know on some other roms, where the clock on taskbar is, if its color is black, it would appear as if there is no clock. i do not know if this applies to your situation or not.

try unmounting sd card. install, then mount sd card. i think there are other steps to move it to sd card, but don't remember. i also read this on one of these android build threads.

[SOLVED] Swiftdroid is killing apps way too quickly. How to prevent this?

Hey,
I was using swiftdroid last two days and it appears to be killing all apps almost as soon as I quit it. I checked with Advanced Task Killer and it appears swiftdroid is trying to keep at least 45MB free even after I enabled 32MB swap with built-in VRAM.
This is very annoying. It keeps quitting facebook chat and IMO chat as soon as I switch to another app. I'm aware GT540 has very low memory but the thing is in stock, I didn't have any problem even though I didn't have VRAM/swap. I usually get around 25MB RAM free all the time and most apps stay in memory. I'm usually like able to launch the IM app, facebook app and still be able to use the browser or file expert or messaging app.
So, is there's a workaround? It's really annoying when it keeps quitting the IM app just like that!
Sorry for saying it's annoying. I know we get this for free and I shouldn't be complaining at all. It's just that it pissed me by quitting IM app, the only app I want to stay in the memory.
What version of Swiftdroid are you using
The latest one (M5), has improved RAM management a lot
And comes with better battery life, too
I got the same thing. Always 40-45mb free and apps being killed quickly. I'm on M5. Someone said that Joestone's AOSP is better in this aspect, but I didn't test it yet.
Mitalca:
I'm on M4. I downloaded M5 only today. I don't think it lacks good RAM management. It's just that its memory management settings have been tweaked to keep maximum possible amount of RAM free so that any new app will launch faster. Am sure there must be a switch to change it.
EazyLuke:
I don't really have any problems with stock 2.1. I checked out Joe's AOSP and swiftdroid. The only real advantage apart from speed is voice input. In Joe's AOSP, I couldn't get voice to work. In swiftdroid, it worked.
that's what I meant with RAM management
Maurik changed the settings on M5
mhoangtr said:
In M4 rom, lowmemorykiller setting is 6,8,16,20,32,40 MB so apps killed too fast.
If you want to keep apps longer, try set to 6,8,16,20,22,24 MB (this is default value of android).

But I don't know how can you change that setting in M4
Try M5, if it ain't working for you, go to Joe's

@Mitalca: That's the whole purpose of the post. I couldn't find the option where I can change 6,8,16,20,32,40 MB to 6,8,16,20,22,24 MB.
How do I change it?
You can change these values with e.g. this application https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lim.android.automemman&feature=search_result
I installed this app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rs.autokiller
It does the same thing.
I set the values to 6-8-12-18-20-20. Now I'll have to see if that brings an improvement.
EDIT: Tested it for a few minutes. And it seems to be an awesome improvement! I can switch from Facebook, Twitter and Browser, and everything is kept in memory, meaning these apps don't have to reload everything!
And it seems to be stable. I also use some of the "advanced system tweaks settings".
Thanks you guys.
XDA memebers. Useful as ever.
I'm gonna try both the apps and keep the app with slicker interface.
M5 isn't working.
Says assert failed when trying to flash via recovery.
Trys v6 SuperCharger!

It Works Perfectly on our GT540!
I found this problematic, too.
I installed M5 yesterday. Everything is great except this (and I don't like oversensitive accelerometer, but it's not urgent problem ).
Last night I listened Music player, and surfed via Miren. After two opened tabs, Music player shut down . After four opened tabs, phone rebooted. Factory widgets' widgets are useless with this agressive RAM menagment.

To bad - it want access to too much permissions.
Access to too much permissions? Use LBE Privacy Guard!
What permissions?
And by the way, I wrote a PM to Mur4ik and asked him to try this app out. Maybe he'll change the numbers for RAM-management in his next release if he thinks it's an improvement.

There are plenty of custom ROMs that use Mur4ik's config. It boils down to personal preference. Do you want newer apps to launch really fast or do you want certain apps to stay in memory all the time?
Multi-taskers would prefer to have all apps in memory while people who like doing one thing at a time or who use phone for gaming mainly would prefer Mur4ik's config which launches apps faster.
The best thing for Mur4ik is to include an option to change the memory management config depending on user.
After changing the numbers my apps don't really seem to open slower.
In my opinion Mur4ik could lower the numbers a little bit, to allow better multitasking, but still let new apps open fast (just my personal opinion).
But I don't say he HAS TO do that, just a suggestion, if he doesn't like it it isn't a problem at all, because everyone can simply adjust the numbers easily .
That's true. xD
If I were to suggest, I'd suggest to add the option to change these settings. Apps opening fast depends on what individual apps are in the memory and what new app you are opening.
For example, if you open Angry Birds while your memory is at 16MB, you certainly can't expect it to open fast.
On the other hand, if you open messaging app while memory is at 16MB, it certainly will open faster.
But, I really disliked the apps Swiftdroid had in the latest release. I had to get rid of the whole GO suit with Uninstaller for Root.

[Suggestion] Rom testing protocol.

In short: The main purpose is to create a list of testing protocols to prevent time and brain lost, which could maximized the efficiency/chance of create a most stable rom and minimized the bugs and bragging sound from tester.
Today just check in the forum, got a fancy idea through my mind.
After seeing many tester having trouble with new rom and some apps can't open or FC or whatsoever, May be we need to build out a testing protocol such as like set a test range, from apps to game, from system to UI, from camera to video, to provide convenient list of test standard for developers. (I mean the testing plan/protocol)
I'm not bragging about our developers are careless or something like that, they are amazing but still human, and sometimes they need to rush out the rom for the other but accidently slip through their mind, therefore need to spend extra time to create hotfix or upload entire rom again to the cloud. Plus, we can gather many tester perspective to united in one plan, therefore we can eliminate the smallest bugs as possible.
My first roughly plan of testing standard, just a roughly examples of the list, not my real consideration. But If everyone is supporting this plan, everyone can contribute which apps should be test and which apps are always got problem and need to keep in check list.
Apps:
flash light
operamini
astro
barnacle wifi
Gapps:
market
Gmail
youtube
Gmaps
gallery
G+
Launcher:
launcher pro
launcher 7
ADW EX
hardware:
back key
volume key
power key
center key
camera key
system apps:
setting apk
timescape apk
alarm apk
So, any thought?

Gosh it just an example list alright? I need many people and dev to approve and helps so i/we can put the real effort on it.
Good idea!
I understand that chefs have a lot of things very complicated to test.
Here are some items that I always test when I try new roms:
- Web browser without flash player.
- Web browser with flash player.
- Sending SMS / MMS (very important for me).
- Pictures in all resolutions.
- Install apps from the Market (facebook is often a source of problems).
- Stability of the 3G / wifi.
- Responsiveness to enter menus and screens.
LOOK ,
This is approved
But your whole idea is that devs forget some useful things
Ure right devs do forget WiFi tether and astro ...
But including them increases the ROM size . Not a very big issue
I really don't get you buddy

Flash light? What do you mean? Using the phone as a flashlight or photography flash?
I had a Mitsubishi phone once, that had such a bright blue screen, you could use it for a flashlight, and the X10's screen is great in the dark as one, too.
MMS/SMS, 3G/H/E, phone calls, import of vcf files for contacts, restore of apps and data with either TI or MyBackup, Bluetooth stack. Camera, Gallery, Music. Some sort of standard email/some standard sync. Anything else is a problem with the app.

Elite Blade_Rom 2.3.5 (free discussions)

The Elite Blade_Rom 2.3.5 seems to be an excellent version of the official 2.3.5.
According to the XDA rules, user discussions should be here under Blade General and not under Blade Android Development.
Thus, any user comments, please!
My experience is good. I re-partitioned ROM before installling, giving plenty of memory for apps.
ZTE Dialer and LauncherPro are included. The only thing I miss on Elite Blade is a circle battery mod. I got one from Huexxx that works fine. I don't know if that file is posted anywhere, but I can send copies of my file on request.
It's a Wifi fix for the Zte blades (Wifi) Chipset problem. It will refresh the connection
after a sleep wakeup.
Perfect
Hi elitemovil,
thanks for the new kernel.
Works great, stable and smooth. I installed the two patches, store all 3 files on the SD card before doing the ROM flash. Bat drain very low on 2G but high in 3G.
Great ROM!!
Stuck @ green droid
I'm getting stuck at the green droid after trying to install EvilRom 2.3.5. I can't get past it, even if I try to flash the rom I knew that was working before.
1. Started from CM7.1
2. Installed the rom + kernel + fix (recovery)
3. Got stuck on the green droid
4. Installed CM7.1 rom again (recovery)
5. Still got stuck on the green droid.
6. Read the fine prints on the rom page
7. Partitioned SD to the instructions (recovery)
8. Transfered roms to new SD partion
9. Flashed rom + fix + kernel (recovery)
10. Still stuck at the green droid.
I saw people in the proper thread had the same issues, but what I really want to know is how to get past it.
I did the TPT upgrade recommended in the EliteRom thread. Worked like a charm to get my angry hulk droid away from my phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19211900&postcount=27
So far so good. I clearly notice how smooth EliteRom already when I'm selecting language in the start. If the developer read this, you should put the TPT upgrade in the installation procedure/text so everyone does it.
I also had to TPT Gen2 v9.
I have 2 problems with this rom.
1 - Lots of apps dont allow to move to sd (in CM7 it was possible), like "Whats App, Circle Launcher, Handcent, iGO8", etc
2 - When writing SMS, it goes very slow in the input. In the beguining of the text it goes fast, but after about 100 chars, it gets really slow. Not only with default app but also with handcent. One time i read it was because of char count... Maybe is swiftkey keyboard...
Move apps to SD SOLVED with:
ADB - ./adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2
data off after sleep
Hi everybody!
I have used Blade for a year. I used JJ, then Swedish Spring, then GSF. I don't like CM 7.1 because I absolutely want the ZTE Dialer, where Contacts has an extra tab for my groups.
Thus Elite Blade is an excellent choice.
Presently I have 2 Blades (one is extra spare).
On my regular Blade I use Elite Blade 1.1 and on my extra Blade I have installed Moldovan Mile-High-Mountain-Pie RLS6 as a reference. Every night I try to make statistics of battery consumption. My goal is to find a ROM and configuration with minimal battery drain. Every second night I switch batteries, so that the old battery and the new battery should not affect result. Sometimes I wipe battery stats from Recovery.
On both phones I try to make identical setup:
Partitioned ROM to 160 mb, 2g only, all data on, wifi on, widget news&weather sync every 6h, Facebook sync every 4h, JuiceDefender, LauncherPro, Gmail, Google+, Lookout, Titanium Backup.
On both phones I have noted nightly battery drops between 10 and 20% so I can't make any conclusions so far. Perhaps I should measure over longer time span, or use apps such as BetterBatteryStats.
But one thing is strange:
Both in the Elite Blade, and on the Moldovan Mile-High-Mountain-Pie Blade, sometimes mobile data is OFF (deactivated) after the nightly sleep, despite that I alway set it to ON.
I verify this by using the advanced power widget. When I pull it down from the main screen, sometimes the mobile data button is OFF (grey), resulting that the Data box in settings is unchecked. I don't think I touched (deactiveted) it by mistake. I touch the button again so that it is green. I expect mobile and background data to be always ON when I wake up the phone. Does anybody know what can cause this? Some strange app or some setting?
I now remove all un-needed junk that uses data, such as Facebook and widgets, then continue testing.
Edit 12.11:
I removed news and weather widget, facebook, Juice Defender, Lookout, Google+ on both test phones. During this nightly test, both phones used 10-11% battery durung 10 hours, with all data and wifi on. Data was not disabled. Thus my trouble may have been caused by e.g. JuiceDefender

Don't know. Probably no difference since they are based on same code. You should overclock to about 700 mhz for games.
I've just installed the S2 version with the updated kernel from 17/11/2011 ... and everything seems to working fine.
I've just reinstalled all my apps and settings with TB and all went well.
Very fast and smooth rom.
I'll looking forward to see if battery drain is ok ... It's obvious I can't tell now (just installed).
I have very bad connection with about all roms on my work , so will try this rom.
If it'(s the same , I'll keep it for sure ,and will look for an other carrier.
Thanks you elitemovil for this rom.
Hi 2 all!
I use the s1.1 rom on my ZTE Libra.
I would like to thank Elitemovil for this GREAT ROM! This is the best rom I've ever had! It's a leader in battery life - i can use my Libra without recharge for about 2-3 days! Earlier i tried CM7(1 day) and GSF(1,5 day).
Only one a little question i have:
can i change the buttons in power-widget on status line? I don't need the wi-fi, bt, gps buttons. I need 3G-2G, Sync, Sound buttons instead of them.
Kuoi, I'm eagerly awaiting your feedback of the S2.
Two questions:
a) How does the battery life, speed and memory consumption of this ROM compare to the previous (Froyo stock) ROMs?
b) Are there a any bugs/problems/todo/open issues for this ROM?
I would like your opinion before I flash this ROM.
Please and thank you in advance.

1 : I can't tell for now , I'll now charge full and will calibrate then . Overnight was -0% , so the overnight drain is proven to be good ;-)
2 : Didn't found any bugs or fc or anything. I even have connection with my carrier ;-)
Hope this helps a bit , Kuoi
By accident I found this discussion thread in the Blade General subforum.
I'm just wondering if it couldn't be useful to post experiences about this ROM in only ONE thread. And as there is an original thread, why not there?
Correct me if I'm wrong...

Thanks, Kuoi.
Keep us informed of your findings.
I have to keep the stock rom on my new blades for two days so that my carrier can unlock them.
Until then, give feedback, please.
EDIT: Could you please inform me if this ROM has Portuguese (Portugal) locale.

[GUIDE] EXTREME BATTERY SETTINGS i9100 NOT JUST ANOTHER BATTERY THREAD ;)10/21/12

This thread will only contain detailed but simple and easy to understand information and broken english because I'm Mexican and I live in Mexico.
This is my first thread in XDA, this phone is my first smartphone or touchscreen phone I got it a year a go when It came out and this post will have all my knowledge about SGS2 battery saving tips I've got from this year.
Some settings might sound dumb, like why would you disable a core if you paid for two, and why would you want lower brightness if you have a SAMOLED+ screen which is brighter than SAMOLED HD, well those settings are optional and you have to find which ones will help you when you need battery badly for an emergency or something.
First let's make a list of all the apps that you need to use and what they will do, all the apps and tips are optional but if you use all of them you will have some amazing battery life!
*This thread only contains free apps so you don't need to spend $ at all!*
#1 Screen filter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ch_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5oYXhvciJd
This app is really useful because it allows you to go on lower brightness than what your phone allows you to! and if you have sensitive eyes it'll help at night, when I really NEED BATTERY I lower the brightness as much as I can (Don't go too low because you won't be able to see s**t.
while in use, screen filter make the install button in the package installer unusable; if you want to install an app, disable screen filter first
#2 Rescan Media ROOT: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5hZGR6Lm1lZGlhc2Nhbm5lcnJvb3QiXQ..
This app will allow you to enable and disable media scanner whenever you want. Media scanner drains ur battery a lot specialy if you're using a JB ROM! I don't know if it'll be useful with GB/ICS because I only tested it on a JB ROM, by disabling media scanner you won't be able to see pictures or videos from your gallery but you're able to play music, use this when you really need to save battery and you're not gonna use gallery.
#3 https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5yb290dW5pbnN0YWxsZXIuZnJlZSJd
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS APP! IF YOU'RE NOT SURE OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING ASK AN EXPERIENCED USER OR JUST LEAVE IT!
Titanium backup has an option to uninstall system apps but this one is free, just use it to freeze apps that you don't use and are always running, the apps I disabled are:
*Maps (I enable em when I need them)
*TvOut
*AccuWeather
*Movie Studio
*TalkBack
*Apollo (I use PowerAMP)
*Sound Search
*Voice dialer (Useless IMO..)
*SIM Toolkit (I don't know if this is safe to remove for all users but I had no problem)
*Trebuchet (I use Nova Prime)
*News & Weather
And you can disable other apps that you don't use, those are the ones I disabled.
#4 Startup manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImltb2JsaWZlLnN0YXJ0dXBtYW5hZ2VyIl0.
This is my favorite, I don't know how useful it is but I hate to have apps I don't use running or on the background.
With this app you can disable the user and systemapps that auto start when you turn on your phone, they will start without any problem when you need them!
This app will give you more free ram! I don't know if the RAM on phones consume as much energy as PC RAM but I used it anyway..
The system apps I disabled are the following:
*Youtube
*Clock
*Email
*Download manager
*Media Storage (I guess you don't need this is you disabled media scanner already with the previous app)
*Gallery
Those are only the system apps, remember to disable YOUR apps that are always running on boot and you don't need them to be running (I only kept facebook, facebook messenger, nova launcher and whatsapp) I don't suggest you to disable many google apps, I think it gives problems when trying to connect to google servers (NOT SURE) disable them if you want and if it give you any problem just enable them again.
#5 FastDormancy Toggle: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...W5tb3JhbC5mYXN0ZG9ybWFuY3l0b2dnbGUuaTkzMDAiXQ..
First do a google search and check if your carrier supports FD, my carrier doesn't support it so I disabled it and you can uninstall this app after disabling it if you want.
#6 AdFree: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5iaWd0aW5jYW4uYW5kcm9pZC5hZGZyZWUiXQ..
This app gets rid of the annoying ads, they consume battery because they use 3G to load and they're annoying anyway, just install it and after it downloads the host files and installs them you can uninstall this app if you want, if you start to get Ads again just install it again and update the host files and uninstall or you just can keep it and let it download the new host files.
#7 GetRIL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zaWJib3IuZ2V0cmlsIl0.
Some users have better batterylife after matching their RIL with the current modem, you can uninstall this app after installing the right RIL but I think the RIL will keep changing everytime you flash a new ROM. This app is supposed to keep you away from RIL crashes, try it. and uninstall after using it.
Ok that's it now let's move to the tips, some of them might have you tired already but I'll put them for the new users.
#1 If you're not gonna browse, use facebook or any app that requieres 3G just disable it, I have 2G most of the time because I only use whatsapp and gtalk the most.
#2 Disable WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and Sync if you're not using it.
#3 Disable google now (It improves battery a lot according to some users)
#4 If you're lazy to control your brightness just set it automatic, I use the notification bar slide brightness from CM10 and I always have it really low.
#5 Try not to have too many root apps running on start up because SU makes the phone laggy when it tries to enable too many root apps.
#6 If you have a weather app set "refresh manualy"
#7 If for some reason after using all the apps from above you still have unwanted apps running just stop them manualy, I check running apps really often and stop them.
#8 Some people have better battery life with different modems, I always use stock modems so try different modems and check which one suits you better
#10 Don't let your phone charging overnight
#11 If you're REALLY need battery and you're on a trip only listening music with the screen off, set your CPU to 200 Mhz or 500 Mhz if you want, Music player is a light app but some music players keep going from 100-200 mhz to 800-1000 ..
#12 Try to enable the skip track with volume key from CM10/AOKP, this will save battery as you won't turn the screen on everytime you want to skip track and If you use the 200 Mhz max frequency you won't have to go through the lag to skip a track (If your galaxy lags a lot at 200 Mhz, some phones don't lag that much at that frequency)
#13 Disable BLN
#14 If you're not using the internet at all put flight mode
#15 Use dark or black wallpapers and themes, our SAMOLED+ Screen saves energy if you use black/dark themes/wallpapers
#16 If you have facebook and you need more battery try to log off your facebook and facebook messenger, it'll save you some battery (credits to Obagleyfreer for this tip)
Now let's get into the ROMs and Kernel subject.
I'm using Dorimanx 7.3 and I'm using JellyBam ROM at the moment but I change ROMs really often, I think JellyBam has vsync enabled so I guess a ROM without vsync and Dorimanx 7.3 will have better batterylife.
ExTweaks settings:
Easy.. Just go to recovery and go into specific kernel options and put Battery profile.. If you have ExTweaks plus you'll be able to change the profiles from the app and you'll see the Extreme_battery profile, enable it if you have ExTweaks plus.
After you set battery profile go to the CPU tab and put second core always off if you're just chatting and listening music you don't need both cores enabled.
Oh yeah and undervolt your CPU/GPU in ExTweaks, I have CPU UV -75.
If you did a charge cycle and your phone is at 100%, unplug it and go to the MISC tab on ExTweaks and Reset Fuel Chip and charge it again to 100%, I usualy reset it like 10 times after flashing a ROM, I unplug and reset and plug and like that a few times.. I'm not sure if it helps at all but I do it anyway.
**I think some users reported that slower charge gives better battery, in ExTweaks MISC tab theres an option for charging voltages, set the lowest AC/MISC:550mA USD:450mA (I haven't tested it but I will do it soon**
I'm adding more info to this thread and giving credits in a few minutes I have to eat dinner.
As I explained I'm from Mexico and this is my first help/guide thread in XDA, If you liked how I shared all my knowledge and want to help me with a donation feel free to do it, I'm from Mexico as some of you know this country is really poor and even 30 cents or 1 USD will help me, 1 USD is like 13 mexican pesos.. feel free to donate if you want, any amount will do fine.
Ok after trying to discharge my phone using Max brightness, both cores enabled, screen on all time, PowerAMP on speakers all the time with max volume, 1.5Ghz, Extreme_Perfomance profile I got 3 hours 30 mins screen time.. I couldn't take a screenshot cause I took too long to take it and I had media disabled Now I'm going to try with my settings and post the results! Please if you tried my guide and got amazing battery life post a screenshot of your battery graph and screen on time or tell us the results!
Mexico loves xda <3

What do you mean? Both cores will run on your Galaxy when you need them but the second core isn't enabled all the time, only when you need it.
Great instructions.I am using JellyBam ROM 20121022 – i9100 daily [OUT DA SPACE REL] with siyah v5.0b1
Well i underclocked my device to 100-500 mhz with 2 cores running all the time... voltages as low a i can... gpu 40 66 100 mhz... the only thing i took from this thread is the screen filter, thanks for that! now i usually get 7 hours screen time 2 days running

Your welcome You should try the startup manager to get rid of the apps that auto start!
A handy tip to help battery life is remove Facebook app. It is a HUGE battery drain.
The best thing to do is to log onto the Facebook Mobile site then when you're on the homepage just save as a bookmark.
Now you can add the bookmark to your home screen as an icon.
It's just like Facebook app only faster, less bugs and battery friendly

Thanks, I'll add it to the list of tips
Great post
One thing though: I would advice you NOT to fully drain your battery unless absolutely necessary. This will lower the full capacity of your battery. It's the same thing that happens to laptopbatteries. Many people let it run dry from time to time and this is one of the reasons people experience such a severe hit on laptop battery capacity over time.
This is also the reason why you phone will shut down before battery hits 0%. It's simply to spare the battery from degradation.

Ingesting Read! But I suggest you to add this disclaimer to the Screen Filter section: "while in use, screen filter make the install button in the package installer unusable; if you want to install an app, disable screen filter first"
Hope it's useful for you
