put the Desire_DL folder at the root of your sd card. The data.img goes in the Desire_DL folder. Check to make sure that you have your config.txt (it's inside the Desire_DL folder) set right. Boot mode should = 1 and data_img should also = 1
clrcad, haret, viola
Also you might as well grab the update to ver3.5 while you're at it, just put the Update_DL and Desire_DL folders that come in the ''upgrade.DL.DesireHD.v1.1.7z'' also at the root of your storage card, next to the original Desire_DL folder, not inside it. Then you'll be on version 3.5

btw, i am using the newest rom and my spl is 3.03.
do i have to downgrade it? and where do u suppose to put config.txt?in the root of sd card or inside the desire folder?
my software info is
rom 3.14.707.3
manila version; 2.5.20181527.0
os version is 5.2.21913

No, your Windows Mobile ROM is okay, as long as your radio is X.XX.50.XX and not a X.XX.51.XX.
config.txt is inside the DesireHD folder (or whatever the folder's named depending on what build) . Edit it as needed and leave it there

it still cannot work. sry for my dumbness
btw,i didnt install maglndr i just install android loader.
ps; i am so dumb with technology

any1 to help me? desperate for android
is it possible that my sd card is spoilt?it still can be used though

can intro me any build using the sense or similar to it?

still cannot...... any idea?

Hi there - I tried to install this too, but ran into a great deal of trouble, up to and including a problem in running ANY OTHER builds. I deleted the existing Desire DL folder off of my SD and the update folder and anything else in the root directory that I thought might have been connected to that build. THEN, I tried Dandiest's v2.0 Desire build. Once I put a 1 GB data image in the Desire DL folder and renamed the config.txt.sd to just config.txt, it went pretty successfully. I've been able to really do a lot and it's restarted successfully. You need to be patient when it first installs - it's a teensy bit slow when restarting, but I'll take stable and fast once booted over the other options. I also recommend a boot loader - I am using Exceller. When you do that, you can easily choose which Android version to load, in case you want more than one. GL!

[Q] freeze on rebooting

Hi guys,
I've been trying out different android builds but after a while it won't boot in android anymore.
I run the CLRAD and HaReT, it show the command lines and then freezes on the HTC screen.
It is not the first time I'm launching it, everything is allways set up the way I like it and then I want to reboot a final time and it freezes. (first boot only takes 10 min.) Then I have to take out the battery to reset, but everytime after it freezes, tried waiting for +1 hour but no changes.
When I delete all the android files from my SD card and copy the original ones it restarts again and I have to setup everything again.
I tried new wm roms (Miri HD2 wm6.5.x) different radios (now 2.12.50.02.2),
the new HSPL3 but nothing seems to solve this.
edit: now I'm trying to use the mdeejay froyo HD v3.7 rom
I've searched the forum and other users seem to have the same problem, but no solutions have come forward. The people replying allways seem to think it is the first boot that takes 10 min. but it's not that. First boot works fine.
I would love to have a solution so I can start using android on a daily basis.
If you need more info, just ask.
I was having the same problem initially...very frustrating. Now i found the permanent solution for this problem. The problem on the second time or more on rebooting is depending how do you install the code in the root of SD card. Please follow the instruction carefully as each ROM (depending on which one you use) may require the files to store diffrently in the "root" of SD card. So read carefully after you unzip the code, where should you transfer the files in the SD card. Either under SD root or SD\Android (directory).Eg. I'm using FroyoStone_Sense V3.2 ; use 7-Zip File Manager program (can be download), then execute (click on the downloaded file : FroyoStone_Sense-V3.2.7z ) with the 7-Zip File Manager then you will get 2 directory 1. Android 2. Media and one readme.txt file. Copy the directory 1 and 2 in you root of your SD card. Then you run thru file manager, CLRCAD.exe follow by haret.exe . This the first setup. Let it run and setup your device. It will work and the second time you reboot, just run CLRCAD.exe and haret.exe as usual, your device will work perfectly..Good luck.
Hi, Just to add another note for you convenience if you are using different android build ef Mdeejay_Froyo_Sense_v.2.4.2_NextSense; when you extract the downloded file using 7-Zip File Manager, you will get 2 directories 1. AndroidApps and 2. Media with the rest of files including CLRCAD.exe and haret.exe .Copy and paste exactly the structure into your SD card. It will run beautifully and you will not have probelm on freesing on 2nd reboot even for the next reboot...hope it helps and try it out.thx.
I've the very same situation and Khairon i tried that method doesn't work...
Still same issue...
Any one can solve this?
cheers
Hi, use file using 7-Zip File Manager program to extract the downloaded zipfile. I've tried severals Android ROM builds and it works well on my HD2 after 2 weeks of trial and error on the freezing after the 2nd reboot. To increase your chance of success, reformat the SD card only then copy the files into the SD card.
Thx
all done, still same 2nd boot = freez
dont understand wots wrong
i am using the mjeedy's revolution build
is there any way to completely burn the android to HD2 like wince roms?
cheers
i was having exactly same problems as u, so i formatted my card with a card formatter, not through windows but used a card formatter, installed android agian and bingo it works, im using droidrom, radio 2.12, with the card format do full reset not quick this should work
full format is not working either
I also noticed that there is a file popping up on my SD card : EncFiltLog.menc
Searching around points to SD card encryption, but this is turned of in windows.
I checked with Miri, who made my windows rom and he said it's not set in the rom itself.
But this might explain everything, when I reboot the linux bootloader can't read the SD card because of the encryption.
Only thing now is to turn it off, but how can I do this when it is off in windows
I also had that file today on my "goldcard", the old 2GB SD-card shipped with my HD2. I tried the old card, because I can't start android (on 16GB sandisk) anymore.
Hi, I have the same problem.
Reboot freeze on 16GB Kingston.
Working fine on 2GB SD.
On both SD card is the same formating.
it doesn't seem to be related to the SD card i guess, I also tried my original 2GB card instead of my regular 16GB.
Both give me the same problems.
Hey anyone got a resolution to this??
my build works on my gb but not my 6gb card???

Same here. Maybe its something to do with UK Hd2's.
I followed all the instructions too, and kept getting stuck in the boot screen loop.
Back to Nand for me... one thing, on screen before screen to flash zip it says can't find misc, even when I make a misc folder it makes no difference. Good luck to you anyway.

Can you tell us what you're doing and what happens?
i Copy contents of copytosdroot folder to the root of my sd.then i boot into magldr and go into USB Flasher whilst still connected to my laptop,Run DAF,when thats done i again boot into magldr and tap Boot AD SD but it keep failing to go into Clockwork,i keep getting soming like k:Music/zimage not found or failed to load kernal even tho ive fully formated my sd,its really anoying,i cant try out any new roms exept nand,Really frustrating
I had problems running like this initially - what worked was putting the 'copytosd' files in a folder on the SD Card (I used 'ADSD'), then changing the Boot AD SD folder option in the Settings menu to that new folder ('ADSD').
Then try using 'Boot AD SD' option.
For some reason it did not like the root folder initially (though it now seems to work fine).
Use Panasonic SD Card formatter & re format the SD card & try again, I had the same issues but now its resolved..!!!

Guys,
Mine works as well so not a UK issue
Did you follow the instructions using DAF and indicated that it was successful but when you try to 1: boot from sd nothing happens or it flashes and returns to the MAGLDR screen?
I had an issue with the root folder as well, create a folder \recovery and copy the 2 root files intrid.gz and zimage to the \recovery and goto services and change the boot to folder to \recovery.
Important reboot before trying as MAGLDR does not change the folder until after a reboot.
Boot from SD and should be OK
Or at least was for me
Now Nand has came out it has inspired a lot to create their own Android builds and new chefs make mistakes. Not trying to blame chefs in general but some do make mistakes.
Also when we used to load up the builds from SD card, I would say 8 times out of 10 I would use a data.img which hasnt been used before. Now if you go from a Sense build to a non-Sense build, and you are using a data.img in app2sd, then they are not properly matched so a-b might go to a-c and miss b out if you know what I mean. What I do is use a data.img for Sense, another for Sense HD/Z, another one for Gingerbread and another for Miui and these are on my Desktop. When I load up a different builds like Sense to Miui, then I will move the data.img from .data or data2sd folder off the memory card and then overwrite the data.img I have on the Desktop for Sense and replace it for my Miui data.img.
I know it sounds tedious but I found it to help.
Also for the new App2SD+, I create the partition using ClockWorkMod instead of another application. I will use Partition Wizard for Windows to delete a partition and resize the fat32 partition back to the full use of the memory card but always partition and create EXT3 partition using ClockWorkMod.
Hope this helps.

i have a slightly different problem: I can boot into clockwork recovery after copying the copy-to-sd files and use it as a partitioning tool. But cant actually complete the installation as I keep getting errors when i run the DAF file from CWM folder in USB flasher option of MAGDLR, so cant actually use it for recovery !!!!

you need to download the Android and to extract to your SD Card root folder.that's it
There's a little bit more to it than that.

what ROM you have or RADIO?maybe you need to upgrade your RADIO read that
(Root is just in SD Card not to make any folders and put it in)
First you need to check that you have the a compatible radio version (2.08.50 or above, I use 2.12.50.02_2, and that works perfectly). If you have not got a compatible radio, you need to flash the phone with HARDSPL3, and then flash the phone with a compatible radio.
Both HARDSPL3 and radios (such as 2.12.50.02_2) can be googled easily.
Once you have downloaded the files to your computer. Run HARDSPL3 and then the radio install files from your computer. Follow the instructions that each piece of these phone flash files tell you. It is fairly easy to do & fairly similar to jailbreaking an iPod Touch or iPhone.
Once you have done this. find yourself an Android build. If you're wanting to boot Android from your SD card, avoid NAND roms. If you are wanting to install Android onto the phones main memory (removing windows mobile), go for an NAND rom.
For installing to SD card (non-NAND): extract the Android build on your computer & then copy the folder 'android' to the main directory on your SD card (looking in File Explorer you would copy this to: "My Device/Storage Card", and no where else.
What you then want to do is open File Explorer on your phone (obviously after you have removed your phone from the computer). navigate to your SD card, go into the Android folder and press the CLRCAD.exe file. Nothing will visually happen, but that's ok. This is just getting the audio ready for Android.
Now click on haret.exe. you will then see a window saying 'booting linux kernel' and a load bar. Now let the phone do what it's gotta do for about 10 minutes. The first boot takes a while. After that you should have android running.
As for NAND installation (install in main memory, removing windows mobile): I have never done this so you are best googling this to make sure you do it correctly.
*I MUST WARN YOU THAT INSTALLING HARDSPL3 AND CUSTOM RADIOS MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK* although saying so it won't do any harm to the phone. happy androiding

It's not supposed to take more than 2 hours, 20 mins max.
Try either of the following, a combination, or all of the following:
format your sd
rextract the android folder form the build you downloaded, into the root of your sd card
Try a different blank data image (if the build requires you to have a data image in there, some builds make their own)
If it's the case of where it makes its own, go into the android folder and delete that incomplete data image
Is it just the build you are using now that doesn't work, or does every other build give you the same problem?
Maybe you need HSPL installed, iunno
You got the latest radio?
Tried a different winmo rom?
Try reading thru this.

Ok then, all you need to do is copy the Android folder from the downloaded file(s) to the root of your sd card. Make sure you DO NOT put it in any folder. Then run the sound fix(i forgot the file name) and haret.exe. It should work fine. As you are running android on your sd card, you do not need to worry about the partitions and such. All you need is the radio and HSPL, which you have
Still the same HTC logo for 5 seconds and reboot into WM... All is in /sdcard/android
Maybe I'll try another rom, but for others it works
... maybe the path that you are using is wrong, and that leads to reboot every time ... for example, the rom I use has this path: sdcard \ droid ... and not sdcard \ Android ... I think the ROM folder and Android folder should be kept separate ...
... in any case try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663755 ...it's a fantastic rom, and you'll be pleasantly surprised ... ... and if you use a loader as Exceller Android Loader ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2/Android_Loader ) is even better, IMHO ...
Ok, I will try. But tomorrow. I don't want to waste next 100mb of my transfer today... I downloaded another and it seems to work Thanks guys.

You don't need HSPL to run SD Android, that's the beauty of it. You can use it without flashing anything at all.
@OP, glad to see you got it sorted out, perhaps it was a conflict between the name of the folder and the rel_path=foldername
Yeah, but I still can't understand what is what and why there are different paths, like there couldn't be one for each rom eg. /android
And is it run by MAGLDR? What is Haret? I mean except an exe loading android.

I'm not quite sure if this is what you wanted, but you can edit the path in startup.txt, so you can rename your folder to anything as long as it is the same in startup.txt. I think there are some symbols which aren't allowed of course, but that's the same with most file names as far as I know.
