Ok then, all you need to do is copy the Android folder from the downloaded file(s) to the root of your sd card. Make sure you DO NOT put it in any folder. Then run the sound fix(i forgot the file name) and haret.exe. It should work fine. As you are running android on your sd card, you do not need to worry about the partitions and such. All you need is the radio and HSPL, which you have

Still the same HTC logo for 5 seconds and reboot into WM... All is in /sdcard/android
Maybe I'll try another rom, but for others it works

... maybe the path that you are using is wrong, and that leads to reboot every time ... for example, the rom I use has this path: sdcard \ droid ... and not sdcard \ Android ... I think the ROM folder and Android folder should be kept separate ...
... in any case try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663755 ...it's a fantastic rom, and you'll be pleasantly surprised ... ... and if you use a loader as Exceller Android Loader ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2/Android_Loader ) is even better, IMHO ...

Ok, I will try. But tomorrow. I don't want to waste next 100mb of my transfer today... I downloaded another and it seems to work Thanks guys.

.... glad you solved ... good luck!!!

You don't need HSPL to run SD Android, that's the beauty of it. You can use it without flashing anything at all.
@OP, glad to see you got it sorted out, perhaps it was a conflict between the name of the folder and the rel_path=foldername

Yeah, but I still can't understand what is what and why there are different paths, like there couldn't be one for each rom eg. /android
And is it run by MAGLDR? What is Haret? I mean except an exe loading android.

I'm not quite sure if this is what you wanted, but you can edit the path in startup.txt, so you can rename your folder to anything as long as it is the same in startup.txt. I think there are some symbols which aren't allowed of course, but that's the same with most file names as far as I know.

you need to download the Android and to extract to your SD Card root folder.that's it
There's a little bit more to it than that.
Have a read here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881958
man what the **** is the root folder i tred to extract my androryd froyo supeream but it dint work !!!
When you open your SD card in explorer in Windows, it's there - just don't go into a sub-folder on your SD card.

what ROM you have or RADIO?maybe you need to upgrade your RADIO read that
(Root is just in SD Card not to make any folders and put it in)
First you need to check that you have the a compatible radio version (2.08.50 or above, I use 2.12.50.02_2, and that works perfectly). If you have not got a compatible radio, you need to flash the phone with HARDSPL3, and then flash the phone with a compatible radio.
Both HARDSPL3 and radios (such as 2.12.50.02_2) can be googled easily.
Once you have downloaded the files to your computer. Run HARDSPL3 and then the radio install files from your computer. Follow the instructions that each piece of these phone flash files tell you. It is fairly easy to do & fairly similar to jailbreaking an iPod Touch or iPhone.
Once you have done this. find yourself an Android build. If you're wanting to boot Android from your SD card, avoid NAND roms. If you are wanting to install Android onto the phones main memory (removing windows mobile), go for an NAND rom.
For installing to SD card (non-NAND): extract the Android build on your computer & then copy the folder 'android' to the main directory on your SD card (looking in File Explorer you would copy this to: "My Device/Storage Card", and no where else.
What you then want to do is open File Explorer on your phone (obviously after you have removed your phone from the computer). navigate to your SD card, go into the Android folder and press the CLRCAD.exe file. Nothing will visually happen, but that's ok. This is just getting the audio ready for Android.
Now click on haret.exe. you will then see a window saying 'booting linux kernel' and a load bar. Now let the phone do what it's gotta do for about 10 minutes. The first boot takes a while. After that you should have android running.
As for NAND installation (install in main memory, removing windows mobile): I have never done this so you are best googling this to make sure you do it correctly.
*I MUST WARN YOU THAT INSTALLING HARDSPL3 AND CUSTOM RADIOS MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK* although saying so it won't do any harm to the phone. happy androiding

Can you link me the way you did it maybe a quick step guide and a file download pleasE?
It's not supposed to take more than 2 hours, 20 mins max.
Try either of the following, a combination, or all of the following:
format your sd
rextract the android folder form the build you downloaded, into the root of your sd card
Try a different blank data image (if the build requires you to have a data image in there, some builds make their own)
If it's the case of where it makes its own, go into the android folder and delete that incomplete data image
Is it just the build you are using now that doesn't work, or does every other build give you the same problem?
Maybe you need HSPL installed, iunno
You got the latest radio?
Tried a different winmo rom?
Try reading thru this.

Download your chosen Android build on your computer.
Extract / Unzip the folder on the computer
Now copy into the Root of your SD card.
Folder should be labelled "Android"
Once copied into SD card you will see 2 files: CLRCAD.exe and HaRET.exe which have to be run to boot into Android.
There will also be other folders / files (Android Apps, initrd.gz, system.ext2, rootfs.img, zimage, startup.txt, ts-calibration) please leave them as they are.

Dear confused nani,
SD android was so yesterday, wouldn't you want to have hd2 boot straight into android like how window os? It's called NAND android. Unless you like window 6.5 os or dual os then you should gone SD android. I'm throwing this out there just in case you don't know. If you decided to go NAND, follow my sig for the best pure latest android.

Is this 2.13 TMOUS Stock ROM?
I would suggest you to use Custom ROM that is compatible with SD Android. You can try Platinum Series by Laurentius26 (find the link in WM 6.5 ROM Development forum!). I used this rom for dual boot with SD Android (American Android AOSP)
To do that, you have to install HSPL 4 and Choose SPL 2.08 HSPL.
Do Task 29.
Flash a Custom ROM.and do HARD RESET. Let it fully boot and do Soft REset.
Place your SD Android Folder to the ROOT of your FORMATTED Micro SD Card.
Remember that the name of the folder must be "Android" (without quote). Few SD Android ROM has different folder name, so you might need to rename it.
Now within Android ROM folder, tap CLRCAD and tap HARET
It will boot to ANdroid. Keep in mind it will take around 20 Minutes. Be patient
If you still have a problem or need more detail, you can PM me
Good luck

first of all you needn't do a hspl to run an android sd build. first choose a build from the android sd build threads. i can suggest americandroid if 'sense' isn't so important for you. After you download the rom, unzip and find android folder in it. copy it to your hd2. tap clrcad then haret. first boot may take up to half an hour.

[04 MAR][MAGLDR/CWM][AUTO-INSTALL] EASY INSTALL OF MAGLDR And ClockworkMod Recovery!
hi mutil,
american droid is the one that i have been trying to install via sd card.i did hspl 2.08,changed radio to 2.15 and rom to platinum series..i was finally able to load droid but now i do not have internet service.so i just booted back up to platinum series where my internet service actually works.

[Q] Can I have more than one SD Build?

Hi, I have just setup dualboot of wp7 and americanandroid sd through magdlr, loving it, but would like to have even more choice, i.e. have more sd builds on my sd card, so can switch between say americanandroid and deshd build. Is that possible? Please advise...
Can I have more than 1 android folder on root of my sd card, e.g. Android1 for americanandroid and Android2 for deshd build, then boot into magdlr, and manually change the android folder under services to the one i want to boot...would that work?
I don't think MAGLDR has such an option built in. If you were using winmo then you could run different android builds off one sd card, but MAGLDR cannot.
Yes it would, you just need to edit the config.txt and change the rel path I think it is, as long as the folders are obviously named differently shouldn't be a problem, been ages since I even touched an SD build!

which config.txt file should i change? where can i find them in sd builds?
lol i know everyone uses nand builds nowadays, but been flashing and reflashing every single day, at least with sd, i can have wp7, cyanogenmod, deshd, and miui all in one, so no more flashing daily or rather hourly lol

Um let me try think lol.
I think in the folder usually called 'Android' it'll be in there. If you open that there will be a line saying something like rel_path=Android
If you change the folder to say Android1 and make the subsequent change to that in the config.txt it will then know to load all relevant info from that folder. If I was at my pc I'd happily try for you but currently in the local beer garden. Have a go and if no luck I'll look into it tomorrow evening for you after work and pm you all the necessary instructions.

i no you must get this asked all the time. i am sorry to bother about this. Im a little confused. Im trying to install andriod 2.3.4 gingerbread on my hd2.
i am following the steps from americanandroids thread on how to install.
my radio code is 2.15.50.14
rom version 3.14.405.2
So i believe i dont need to change them. loaded all android files onto hd2 clicked both files and it boots. HOWEVER the problem is when it runs the script ( the white wrighting) it only rights 4ish lines then the htc logo appears and nothing happens. left it for 2 hour, tried this 4 times.
The only thing i can think of is i havent formatted my sd card. Please somoeone help me out??
thank you very much
Is there a clrcad.exe to run before haret?
If it stucks on the screen running codes, can you read at what line it has stuck?
And as you said, try formatting your SD card.
First thing, format the sd card, usually that will sort the problem.
If not, try and download the files again and/or try another rom, if the problem still persists, then most probably your winmo rom is not able to load android, get a custom winmo rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=980. make a backup of your current rom > task29 > install custom rom > format sd card (again) > move files to sd > clrcad + haret. Hope this will sort your problem, otherwise go NAND
im assuming you have hspl installed, right?

Hspl its not actually needed to load SD roms, but as I said before, some original roms wont allow you to boot android from SD, therefore you'll need a custom rom, but you can't install custom rom without having hspl.
So, if after formatting your SD, you still can't boot android then install hspl, then install custom rom, copy files to SD, tap clrcad + haret
