Streaming video - Adam General

While watching streaming video the sound ends up ahead of the video so that they are way out of sincerity. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

720P MKV on GS?

Has anybody tried to test it yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700644
i tried play smoothly but no audio output
i got audio on my 720p clips.. and they look awesome by the way
-TB-
It depends on audio coding, from what i tested, about everything is supported except for OGG.
80% of my media collection works flawlessly on the SGS, videos look awesome.
Still haven't met a 720p file I've downloaded that didn't play flawlessly

Curiously every episode of a tv show by ctu displays no video, just sound. Everything else plays just fine. Anyone else noticed that?

Hi. I also used other players. Some, like rockplayer play the ctu videos but with such a low framerate as to be unwatchable. Maybe it's a codecs problem? Has anyone found a video player capable of playing everything?
Flawless on mine too
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Mine plays 720 MKV file withaudio only and Rockplayer plays file with video but some smearing and audio out of sync.
The Samsung sample files that are avi 720 not MKV play really good.

Have you tried ctu tv shows?
Ctu releases are definately not working. But Dimension releases do.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Some will be DD, MP3, AAC, etc, it'll all depend on the codec, check it with TSMuxeR, it'll tell you what format it's in.
Also, my MKVs have all played fine, v good quality, audio is fantastic too. Even though the screen isn't a 720 screen, thus kinda pointless, it looks great. Damn sight easier than re-encoding them for the correct resolution at least

Gotta disagree on the "pointless" comment. You point out a major plus, re-encoding. Other purpose, video-output, I want to be able to serve my 720P content to computers and TVs, I would suffer a worse resolution or have to keep two files for each movie/video I *might* want to serve. 720P playback is a near God-send (IMHO).
The problem is with videos like ctu releases with 448 kbps audio. I've already sent an email to samsung to report the problem.

The thing it's that this ctu videos worked flawless on Samsung Wave.I hope this will be fixed in future firmwares.

video playback

i know this has been discussed but i think that it is freaking ridiculous that we cant play all video types on the so called worlds most powerful smartphone. it should play all formats stock
Okay. So did you have a question like, "Does anybody know of an app that will play ___ video format"? Were optimizing our devices here at XDA, not complaining about them.
I agree....thus I have installed arcMedia 4 my mkv's. Seems pretty good. Plays my 720p copies quite nice.....however...thru wehtop on a 42" with webtop mob the playback is slightly stuttered from time to time....still tolerable to me though.

indeed All formats are supported on the so called most powerful phone
(via third part player)
but whether it will be playing smoothly remains to be discussed
what is the best player? i tried qqplayer,no results
Qqplayer seems to play everything.
player.qq.com/android
I can see it just fine searching for it on the market.
There is another thread talking about how to use handbrake to convert movies to a format that the atrix will play natively.
I followed it and it worked perfectly

I have the same issue, but it's fairly random, but I am playing videos from a SMB share. Sometimes I'll get through an hour before it quits, sometimes 5 minutes. This is using MX Player, Dice player, and Rockplayer. They all have the same issue. In my case, it could be an issue with the device retaining the connection to the SMB share.
Try dice player from the market, works really good!

some people have had issues with their tabs where video intense application start to freeze, crash or quit. A factory reset seems to be the trick to fix this. Yes, you lose all your data and have to start from scratch, but potentially no more issues.
This is not a guaranteed fix, but many people have had luck with it.

Using BS Player with no issues whatsoever playing h264 HD videos in hour-long intervals.
Do you happen to use Kaspersky? I’ve had a similar problem which disappeared after uninstalling Kaspersky!
Many intermittent pauses and crashes when watching videos over smb connection. Sometimes it will go for an hour or two with no problem, sometimes it's within a few minutes. Most often the tablet will reboot.
Pausing a video, then putting device into sleep mode, will always cause a reboot.
And, still not much luck in maximizing flash video playback, always crashes tablet in dolphin hd, or stock browser.

Mx player

I'm having a hard time playing certain videos that I had made on my tablet like some avi files and some mp4 and I'm using mx player is there a codec I have to download to use on here

There is a arm7 codec available in the market for the mx player. I am running avi files without issues.

The arm7 codec is for Tegra 2 processor. It will install the codecs but if you don't have a Tegra2 processor theres no real point. I know this as I need to install the arm7 codecs for my Acer A501 but have installed them on my SGS3 too. I deleted them with no difference in playing videos from the S3. They are not needed and aren't used by anything other than the ARM7 cpus... Waste of space and time installing them...
MX Player is great! Have you tried switching to software mode? Usually if it doesn't play in HW mode then SW mode fixes it.
I've stopped updating it since version 1.6f. That was the last version that still had DTS audio support and it still works great!!
Brgds... /Tubgirl
Yeah, software decoding is good but I prefer HW decoding for video and SW decoding for audio. Works brilliantly well...:good:

I have yet to run across any video to stock video player will not play. What type of problems are you running into you with a stock video player?
I have had a few where a weird rip has happened for audio. Video plays and audio won't on stock player. I tend to use avi, mp4, matroska(mkv) and other video files but depending on how they were ripped I find certain players work well and others don't. I've also found some of the larger files use the cpu intensively for video and audio goes out of sync. Software for audio seems to fix this...
Most files work on the stock player but it's annoying to find one you can't play...

1080p video and 3rd party player don't work

I can't play the helicopter video nor any other 1080p video with MxPlayer or VLC.
Videos up to 720p work fine.
Only the Samsung player works with 1080p.
Anybody else?

It has a very usable playlist with shuffle function that I need.

Helicopter video
My I9500 came with helicopter video, but after some updates that desapears.
I have tried everything to get that again, but the only option until now was to download from youtube, but I don't think this have the same quality.
The youtube downloaded video (1080p) have only 61MB. I found a 720p mkv version, wich have 164MB. I think the 1080p version have 300+MB
Could someone kindly upload or send me a link to download the real Samsung helicopter video in 1080p wich came with Galaxy S4?
I'll be much appreciated.
