Not sure what happened with my last post. Seems to have disapeared.
Anyway, can anyone tell me how to load the default Phone Dialer? My Dopod keeps loading the T-Mobile dialer. This is a very ugly dialer.
Please let me know.

Have a little visit to my site. Take a copy of the PSK installer, find a dialler skin you like and copy it to your device. Tap on it using your file explorer and you'll have that dialler immediately available.

I have been using ur phone skins for a while.. its grt especially those on PF are very good.
I wish if some one can develop a program to auto redial a dialed number in case its busy.. R U THE GUY I may be looking for..!!!
DO u know of any such program.. that would be a real nice application specially using the phone while driving...

Thanks for the commets, but nope I don't develop programs (yet!) I've not heard of an auto-redialer but that doesn't mean that one does not exist.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but how do you get the deault dialing skin back? I tried the default.psk in the windows directory, but it gave me a different dialing skin again!

Firstly, could you explain a little more about the things that you found to be a problem on the device? What did you think was not perfect?
Secondly, could you tell us something about the Bluetooth Stack of the device? Is there a Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP)? Can you voice dial using a BT headset? There is a small button the MDA Pro called "voice control". Is it only for voice recroding or are there any other voice related functions you can use it for?
Thirdly, how comfortable is it to use as a regular phone in comparison to the T-Mobile MDA III. Is there a gross difference or a minimal difference?
Lastly, When can we expect to see a "first impression" mini-review from you. Also, if you could post some pictures of your device including the packaging, we would be very grateful.

Hi mamaich,
I tried both tools on my MDA Pro.
grab_it : Claims that it cannot create the file.
Testdump : starts, but after a while locks up the device. Process bar is about the half...it created a dump file with about 57,8 MB...

I think that is because your device is in german and maybe storage card is named something else (in german)?

Yep..should have found out that by myself
Anyway..good news for those who bought their device from T-Mobile in germany: T-Mobile will give out the unlock code for free to all people who bought it without a contract (749€). I just phoned the simlock-hotline and the woman said that she will send me my unlock code via email soon (next 2-3 days).
Can't wait..still debugging...

This may sound daft, but have you put the camera in the wrong way up?? I did this mod and had no problems at all.

For some reason my download crashes whenever I try to install it. It doesn't even open. I unziped the file and it's not running.
Did you open the unzipped file on a desktop PC? It has to be copied to Pocket PC and executed there!

Edit: okay, installed it. It looks really really good. I like it better than WIMP if the monitoring integration can be installed.
I have a few questions.
1) I entered +614XXXXXXXX as my number to call when the phone is stolen, but it does not accept it. Why is this so? What if a SIM card of another country is inserted when we travel?
2) Often the top taskbar disappear. Do you have this problem? I also find that I'm unable to minimise it or switch to other applications when used in conjunction with wktask.
3) How do we make it possible for the problem to survive a hard reset?
4) How about letting the seven of us have the GPS and monitoring integration also? Or at least the monitoring integration. I like your concept of monitoring very much. I have been using WIMP in the past with GPS, but I find the GPS location to be too rough to be useful. I think the monitoring concept gives us much better chance of recovering the phone than WIMP would allow.

Replace + with 00. Eg: 00614XXX Try it and let me known. It is the issue with some service providers who dont accept the format of message sent with certain parameters.

The application is made to take the full screen hiding the Start bar. This is only when you're in the Admin panel making some configurations. So for a few minutes, you can sacrifice Start ar ?
Or do you think the application doesnt bring back Start bar even after closing?

Depending on in which country the phone is stolen, the international prefix is different. But + is the universally acceptable prefix to replace all these prefix. That's why I thought it would be the correct way to set up the number.
BTW, I tried testing it. Unfortunately it does not seem to be sending out any SMS alert to the listed mobile phone number when I put in a SIM card which has not been added to the database yet. Are any of the other six users having this problem?
Also, when I tried to set up the customized text, the software abended with an error message saying "An unexpected error has occured in UTAv35.exe. Select Quite and then restart this program, or select Details for more informaiton" . When I select Details, I see the following information:

i tried to copy and paste some text from facebook and it wouldnt let he high light the text everytime i tried with the stylus it just kept moving the screen
omfg! then read manual to your opera browser when u dont know how to use it! hold down stylus and turn on text selection first...

This is the first time I hear someone giving wrongful credit to the iPhone.
Hi there.. Well everyone knows how to copy/paste.. Touch one word (with stylus) and then slide the stylus to select many words.. After the selection, press and hold stylus to the screen.. and you'll get pop up menu.. and then select paste.. easy as it gets..
And btw.. Here's one advice.. Join this page -> http://www.xperiax1.net/ A really nice X1 forum, free registration (ofc) and really easy to manage.. It's just a forum without programs of its own (when they recommend a program they always give xda's link ).. Ppl are really polite and helpful, and they are always ready to answer questions (no matter how silly or nooby they are to someone)..
It's a good thing to do cause you see that there are a lot of experts here and they don't prefer noobs like you and me
