[Q] HD2 Reboots Into Windows Mobile When Booting Android - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Every time I try to boot into Android, the HTC screen appears, then the screen goes black, and it reboots back into WinMo. This is happening for multiple builds of Android and on all three of my SD cards. Any suggestions?

hello, you have to post more info about your device software, like radio version, winmo and SLP version.

I had a problem like that. Try to put mem=356M in startup.txt under set cmdline.
If that works then your phone has a RAM memory problem.

HTC HD2 Problems TMobile

I've currently installed the latest HSPL (2.08.HSPL) and it haven't fixed my issues.
Most of the time, my phone shuts down and powers up and it freezes or it vibrates 3 times and freezes. Some times it will turn on and freeze and infinite vibrating. Some times when I'm using Opera, it will just shutdown and freeze on boot.
It have to be the OS, but I just installed GingerBread 2.3.2_V7 but it still freezes and crashes.
Any help?
Thank you.
Try reinstall HSPL 2.08
Do it through bootloader mode/tri color screen remember
Then perform a task 29
Reinstall a radio for your TMOUS HD2, that is compatible with MAGLDR or HSPL.
Then install winmo or MAGLDR. Through tri color screen also.
Or it might be your sd card, Iunno, i've been reading some sd cards freeze the device. So you might as well format your sd card with panasonic formatter. Full format btw.

I think you downloaded and copied a sd Card build to your phone. If it was a NAND ROM you would not have thois problem, plus I just did a search on GingerBread 2.3.2_V7 in the Andriod section for the HD2 and it only pulled up a biuld called "PPC-SHIFTPDA GingerBread 2.3.2 V7 & Desire HD Sense Glass V2", and this is a sd card build. looks like a very nice one too. Click on the link to comfirm that this is correct ass it should take you to the thread on that build.
You can do two things, either try uninstalling the last couple of apps you have resently installed most recent to least recent. This might solve your problem as it might be an app causing the issue.
The other is to do a Hard Reset of your HD2. Now make sure to move anything you want to save like pictures, videos, documents, etc. to your sd card or back them up on a computer first. also use Mycrosoft My Phone or a comprabale app to back up your contacts, favorites, text messages, ect. Cause this will revert your HD2 to like it was fresh brand new fresh out the box. Any way my sugestion to you is to do a Hard Reset of your HD2. tTo do this cut your HD2 off. then hold down the volume up and down buttons and the power button at the same time until you see the tri color screen. once it comes upo press the volume up button and the your HD2 will reset to factory setting.
Now after you do the reset don't just try to reload all of your apps at once.I suggest you do a soft reset(turn phone off for 20 secounds and turn back on) after ever app you reinstall. Reinstalling all your apps at once can cause your HD2 to freeze up on the first reboot of the phone because it is overloaded with the task of making all the needed changes at once using up all of it's CPU resources. This sould resolve your issue.
I did a task 29 and installed WinMo
I still get the 7 vibrate thing on boot. I've found that it only does this when the phone is hot. Is this an error found in every HTC HD2 TMOUS model or is it just me?
Thank you

[Q] HD2 Lockup on install

Hi folks.
I've just tried to flash my HD2 to Gingerbread from WinMobile 6.5 using the following instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 (It's in HTC Leo: HD2HD2 AndroidHD2 Android NAND Development[3.May.11][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10])
The HSPL installation went fine, however, when used the ROMUpdateUtility.exe, I've been left with a phone that won't boot past the O2 Welcome screen?
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing/done wrong? I've now got a phone that's useless No amount of resetting, rebooting or hard resets will change it.
Cheers!
Further update
Where it tells me to boot the phone whilst holding the power key down, it doesn't appear to do anything. If I do a cold boot, the phone just will not boot (but then it didn't under Windows) and if I hold it down & do a soft reset, just still goes to the O2 Welcome screen. I can put it into the ROM update Utility again & attempt to reflash the ROM (which now shows no Version number) and I get the screen that tells me The ROM Update is complete, although it takes only about a minute, as opposed to the 10 it should take!
FYI, the Phone ROM Update Utility is version 3.27.4.3, if this helps?
Ta!

I don't understand... You have SD Android and your screen displays black and white stripes when in both Android and Windows Mobile or only on Android?
Its bit confusing..
i had win mobile on my hd2 but i installed madglr in order to start the sd version of android automatically so i didn't start win mobile ...
now nothing starts -.- i start my mobile phone and from first boot it shows black and white stripes :s
what i didn't understand before that i couldn't start win mobile after installing madglr but this wasn't so important because i often use android

Unrelated, but a bit of advice for the future is to read things such as this very thoroughly before doing anything. I understand that stuff like 'terms and conditions' don't really need to be read, but you can potentially ruin an expensive piece of technology here!
Also, can you get into the bootloader (press and hold volume down+power button when booting up)?
yes i come into the bootloader...
but i can't install a radio rom a stock rom task 29 or madglr (alswas says: image file corrupt)
trying to istall a rom from the sd card... it shows loading for short time and than back to the three- coloured display

[Q] WP7 restart problem after 2 months perfect working

Hi Guys,
my HD2 restarts again and again after the WP7 boot logo appears for 10 or 15 seconds. I've installted the XBmod-Yuki rom (WP7 8107 with SP1) last January and ever since my phone was working perfectly until yesterday. I had to shut it down in the lunchtime and as I wanted to boot in the evening it began to restart every time after the boot logo.
The battery is fine and and can be fully loaded after removing the SD-card. I've searched for the problem already, but couldn't find a similiar problem. In most problem descriptions the battery seems to be too low to boot, but my one is OK. Have anybody an idea to fix the problem?
kind of the same problem
my hd2 restart like every 10 minutes again and again i haven't found nothing to do , therefore i gonna reinstall

you either have the new DFT ROM with touch screen driver problem or you have microSD card problems (card not compatible with WP7)
Sounds like you are suffering from some bad sectors... :-( You could try to reinstall using different SD-card and see if the problem persists. If not then the old SD-card was the troublemaker If not then you have bad sectors onboard which is a bit of trouble!
Of course there are other explanations but bad sectors is common on the HD2 or at least starting to become that :-(

well it seems you need a compatible sd card because not all of them are compatible with wp7 and give you random reboots, it is a known problem. read a little bit here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912904&highlight=compatible+sd
