Market problem - Galaxy S I9000 General

Everytime i go into the downloads section of the android market i keep getting a server error. Anyone else having this trouble?
I've tried clearing the cache but still it persists.

I had this problem over the weekend - started Saturday night, and was back working my Sunday morning.
I also had an error indicating that my device was incompatible with marketplace. I googled it a bit and found out that this had been happening to many devices, especially Samsung devices, over the weekend and that it was an issue on Google's end.
My best suggestion would be to wait it out for a bit. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall marketplace?

I had some issues which were resolved by grabbing an APK for the new market updating and installing this - doesn't require root either so should be pretty safes.

Problems Downloading from Market with Epic 4G

I bought my wife a new Epic 4G and she has been having problems downloading from the Marketplace. It seems to be a 3G,4G problem. Even Wifi doesn't start right away, yet does seem faster starting than 3g/4g. It does finally work after about 10 minutes. I know it is a phone problem, not a 3G/4g or Wifi problem, because I have an EVO, and at the same time downloading from the market with the EPIC, the EVO has no problems at all. I do notice once it has downloaded the first item, it seems fine for the rest of the day. The 3g was active before my wife went to the Market to download stuff. She had already received her email, so the connection was there.
Is anyone else having problems downloading from the Marketplace on 3G/4G or even wifi? If so, how do I fix the problem. I do have the latest update installed and it still didn't fix the problem.
The Epic seems to have some issue with logging into Gtalk randomly. I have experienced downloads that wouldn't start myself. Simply opening gtalk will log you in (most of the time) and the download will start almost instantly.

Missing Apps
Same issue here. Many Paid and free apps are missing. Bad deal since I need the phone for work and now I can't get my TouchDown Exchange Client working because it lost the key I paid for on the Market

For me it is not the issue where the download fails to start (though I have seen that too). This issue is that the apps are "not found" on the market place.
NOTE: I can see the apps from my EVO just fine, just not on the EPIC.
Evo is on froyo isn't it? Mabye they are protected apps and won't been seen unless you are running a phone with Froyo. Unless google hasnt registered I18 as a approved build yet.

Interesting... I notice that if I install(ed) a ROM (in this case Epic_Experience_v1.1.3) the apps are missing.
If I wipe the phone and restore a nandroid from a few days ago the apps show up.
Not sure what that means, but at least I can get back to using my email. Still learning all this ROM, Root, Kernel stuff.

I concur with these findings. I'm running Epic Experience 1.1.3 and if I search Market I can _not_ see such popular FREE apps such as Fandango, Where and Google Places Directory.
No idea why..

There have been several threads about this issue. Google has to take action in the Market to recognize the DI18 firmware as legitimate. (Perhaps Sprint has to take action to goose Google into taking action.)
This same problem occurred for several days after the last update.
See this post earlier at xda.
yeah this is pissing me off considering it all worked just a day ago...
I had my Epic rooted ever since I got it....the last few days it got sluggish and got bricked. I got it back to stock tonight and I can't upload apps either. I'm on the version ending in "7" when I went back to stock...if anyone can offer tips that is reading this would be greatly appreciated!!!
im getting annoyed by this GTalk sign in issue... not only I use gtalk alot but also market won't work without it.
I noticed I get signed off and loose connection almost every time I make/receive a call. Or sometimes just randomly.
Hey have you tried this?? I just did this below....
****UPDATE 4 hours later*******
so after screwing with everything I could possibly (clearing cache, resetting phone, rebooting countless times, etc) I logged out then back in to TALK using my gmail account and VOILA! everything downloaded.

Market Not Working

My market hasn't been working today at all.
I have the new 2.2.7 market and when I click my apps, I get an error saying "a network error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."
I've tried uninstalling the 2.2.7 market and using the old market, I've tried both wifi and 3g and I've tried clearing market data and cache in application settings.
Nothing works.
Market was working just fine earlier today or yesterday for sure. No major changes since then.
Also, what's weird is that I can install and download new apps. I just can't get to the my apps tab to view/update existing apps.
Any ideas?
I've noticed the same thing so I'm thinking it's a problem with the market and not an issue on our end.

I had a similar issue that fixes itself. Who h is odd because I switch between mg x, incredible, and fascinate. The x is activated and it was using the old market, I cli led update all(apps) and let it be. Then we.t to filling with the market and nothing would work. Then let it be for about 10min and now I have the new market odd, hasn't been pushed to my other two vzw phones. Maybe its just the update that is your issue. I've never used my x for nodding only day to day phone bc batt life is so good but im trying to figure out how to do nods with it because with the locked bootloader it's quite a bit diffent than my dinc or fascinate. Its been rooted of course since about sometime in july. Had to drop the fascinate for a while bc who knows when or if it will actually get froyo. Its quite sad bc that phone has awesome hardware.

I am experiencing the same problem on two different handsets and two different versions of Market:
Nexus S with Android 2.3 and Market 2.12 ("Downloads")
T-Mobile G1 with Android 2.2.1 and Market 2.2.7 ("My apps")
Logcat:

Market - My Downloads - Server Error

Let me start at the beginning. Whenever it was the new market was available, I installed it manually (2.2.6?)
It autoupdated itself to 2.2.7 no problems.
Yesterday when I hit Downloads it came back with a server error. Today, when I look through apps, I see they don't even show as installed.
I've cleared cache, cleared data (of Market, Market updater and Download manager) and even uninstalled updates, but nothing helps.
Any ideas?
i'm having the same problem
Having the same issue too here. I thought it might be an issue with marketenabler but seeing that you live in the UK Andy, it cant be marketenabler.
edit: actually im using marketaccess, buts thats irrelevant.
Same issue here, suddenly.
works now!
Same here, tried again like 20 min ago, appears to be fine.
Must have just been a google related issue after all. Good thing I didnt try to reflash to fix it.

Android Market problems on A500 as repoeted by some of the custom ROMs users.

Firstly congrats. If you're seeing this post, you might have already done so or are trying to flash some custom ROM, which is absolutely ok.
Rather its fun and satisfaction that you keep your device up to date if not possible through official means. Also for some good changes.
Unfortunately, its not completely flawless. There might be some issues which are covered in the further updates of the ROMs.
Among oother small problems, one major problem I faceed when I flashed a custom ROM (actually three) is that the Android Market failed miserably when I initiated it. There were horrible search results. Also the categories were not showing the apps which would otherwise be placed under them.
Fortunately, the Android Market site was open for me which was the last option for me to go on with.
The only solution I could find to this problem was a bit of patience and some really basic info about market.
I tried to re install all the applications that were previously being shown as installed already. Though they showwed "Installed" status but you can install them again.
After a lapse of almost three days, I tried to access the Market app and it was actually accessible with all the search functionalities and EVERYTHING running smooth.
A thing I would like to advise on is try not to wipe out all the data (the 4 wipe out options while flashing) from your device. It might, might help you not to lose data and possibly, the Android Market too.
Have fun.
I've been on a custom rom for greater than a month now and have not experienced any market issues. The only problem that I've ever had was wifi stopped connecting for me. But it was an easy fix. Sorry you've had problems... Perhaps something else is to blame?

[Q] apps auto update problem on mango 7.5....?

i have focus sim unlocked on att. i don't have any problem in installing apps from market place but i am not getting auto updates for apps. when i search for any app that i already installed , apps that are having updates it shows up and when i click update it updates. but itz painful and time consuming in searching for the updates that i already installed. do any one having similar issue? if there is a solution for this please leave a post. thanks in advance
I'm also having this issue and need help for a solution as well!!
The explanation is simple: the available bandwidth is the same while the number of phones and app checks has increased.
So, this not actually an issue, this happens. If you're mainly using 3G connection, this is to be expected.
3G connection is sensibly slower than WiFi and the number of apps has gone past 30k, thus some checks will time out.
It is recommended that you use USB/WiFi connection to sync from time to tome to prevent this happening very often.
I doubt that's the problem.
My girlfriend also has a Samsung Focus (updated to mango), and we have some of the same apps/games...when one has an update on her phone the marketplace tile alerts her, but mine doesn't show anything unless I search for the app in the market and check it, then it tells me there's an update, not sure what to do.
definitely a big issue... it has been a month since my marketplace has stopped showing any app update already. The updates are there when I manually search for it. It was fine for the past 9 months until now.
Weird thing is both my girlfriend and me are using unbranded Optimus 7, same carrier, same account/phone settings. but she keeps getting new update alert almost everyday, which I did not, even for the same apps.
Tried connected via 3d/wifi/usb all day long, tried guessing and uninstalling app which maybe conflicting, etc... none helped.
anybody else find a fix yet? please share
Still no luck...
Maybe its because I did the force update to Mango (my girlfriend didn't to that and hers works fine) so I have a bad feeling it was because of that, and no one seems to have a solution. I've reset my phone, re-installed apps, etc.
