Noticed that thee is a new Flash update... - G Tablet Android Development

From the market for my Evo, hopefully we can find a way to get an update for the gtab.

Oddly the version we have for the gtab is actually a higher number than the recent update on the Evo.

Do the version numbers have any correlation though? I would be willing to bet they don't. Flash needs to be compiled for specific hardware/software, and the Tegra 2 is unique hardware.

The flash apk for the folio tablet works fine on the stock TnT rom, just try that out.

Download, rename the .txt to .apk and run it.

Oh no, just when I was happy with jh2 and super root. Hilarious!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Hmm wonder what this entails?? My data cable isn't with me today so I can't try it out anyone able to flash this and give us an update?
Just flashed and waiting on first boot now. Will give my 2 cents later on.
Well, it is still 2.1 so I will pass as I have no GPS issues which is probably what this fixes...

This is crazyness. I just reflashed JH2/ rooted/ ext2. I don't want to do it all over again unless there is HSUPA or no need for the lag fix.
Im still upset about the USB tethering being taken away. What next no Android-wifi-tether?
So far the ROM looks pretty much like JH2. I haven't tested GPS, and probably won't for a while. I didn't notice any new apps, quadrant scores were typical stock scores.
Designgears Superrooter + runs on this, just ran it and applying lagfix now.
Overall, to my untrained eye, no major changes from JH2. Someone with more experience may want to jump in here.

any changes to the gps settings?
Downloading it now... I'd be happy if the only change was the removal of GPS logging =P

If you have root explorer, look at the 10th line of /system/etc/jupiter.xml using the text viewer in portrait mode. You should see an entry called cLogEnabled followed by either ="true" or ="false". If the value is "true", then logging is enabled, otherwise not.

You guys aren't going to see consistent improvements in quadrant from just flashing to a new internal build of the stock firmware. It's going to be smaller refinements, all of these things we're getting from samsung-firmwares are internal test builds that are current candidates to be new AT&T OTA updates.
Ok, so I may give it to the end of the day.
One thing missing from market is Digital Clock widget by Maize. I even you the market access tool and still nothing. Does anyone have the apk they can give me a link to or something?

Yeah, I don't put much faith in Quadrant scores, I just list them as more of an FYI. Real world testing, about the same as JH2 so far.

[Q] What's in the box?

Would someone please tell me what is supposed to be included in the Elocity 7 box when purchased?
Is it supposed to include a USB to USB cable? If not, how is it supposed to be connected to our computer (if necessary)?
I saw the following and wonder if if is correct (it doesn't mention a USB cable):
What is in the box:
eLocity™ 7-Inch Internet, Tablet with 4GB internal memory, rechargeable lithium polymer battery, user manual and safety guide, warranty card and AC adaptor with power cord.
Thank you.
Bobby
That's all folks!!!
Yup, that was all that was in the box. I actually had a screen protector in my box, but it got ruined when I tried to remove the tape from it. It was taped to the A7 to hold it.
I bought 5 bluetooth dongles from eBay - only 2 bucks each - and plugged them into my computers. I can easily transfer files now between all computers and the A7 - and my phones now - and each other.
Really there was nothing else in there.
I did buy a case....the USAGear neoprene black one. Bought it on Amazon. On sale now for about 13 bucks. Fits almost perfect. It could be just a touch longer, but looks good.
Make sure you do the upgrade to latest firmware from website, then Dexters mod 1.41 - makes it a great machine!
I have a bluetooth gps receiver coming - have heard they work with the A7.

What firmware update are you referring to?
I already have PBJ8000.2.0.0133.
(I'm personally not too 'fond' of the updates because they keep replacing apps I previous removed. And I understand every future update will do the same.)
The A7 need a dedicated dev to work on it, thanks Dexter but your legion is to motorola, was using Dexter mod but went back to the stock rom, have less issue with stock than with Dexter mod..don't have to reinsert SD or USB and It show the correct SD card size ..
Firmware update
I believe the latest firmware update is 2.2
It was out in February - i think the 24th, but not sure.
Anyway, i did install the latest firmware, then in order to get the Market place app, I "upgraded" to Dexters mod 1.41 so I could install almost any app from marketplace.

i never seen sdcard (external) reported in stock rom reported correctly or even found? i know it mounts it at /storage/sdcard-disk0 but thats it, for previous releases.. can you tell me how you see it better or do you actually mean internal storage, because "correct sdcard size" is fine here too?
btw(little OT),
for those using stock and want all the new gameloft HD games running, you cannot use stock, as /storage is not supported, it reports "no free space".
if you want to use the usb cable, you still need to be able to switch between host/device, which is not working in our firmware...
you can manually switch but the OS do not acknowledge it correctly.

checked it already and its not complete, for compile.. and no details on how to actually making it compile..
tried to copy it on top of 2.6.36.3 but some scripts were missing, so its nice, but not really useful.
anyways A7 has different hardware, and is similar to the Harmony board (called naz10) where Asus the much newer Whistler board for their kit, which has more video mem and some other functions on the board we dont have here..
similar but not quite the same when you get technical.

[Q] Slacker issues

I was using Slacker a lot until latest update. Now it doesn't play on my Atrix. On the rare occasion music plays, it only lasts about 1 min. I contacted support and they said:
"At this time, this is a known issue with your model of phone due changes made to your phone by your phone carrier. We are currently working with them to repair this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
Notice no ETA on fix. Anybody have a fix or have any info?
Edit: Version 3.0.515 fixed the issue
What version number are you using?
Find an older version and install it with Astro.
Also for future FYI, I highly recommend not updating apps until you read the comments of what the last update did. (if anything)
So many times people update just to update, and then get stuck with a broken version or the new version is filled with ads. If it ain't broke then...
Oh that reminds me, (on a side note) for those that haven't heard of "appmonster" get familiar with it.
This (free) program allows you to save your apps to the SD, and you can reinstall older versions whenever you want. Perfect for future "Oh **** I shouldn't have updated that" moments.
So if you are the type that likes to "update all" and see what happens, you can uninstall the program and pull the older saved version using appmonster. Check it out, IMO it's a must have app!...
I am using version 3.0.505. I did the update because there were actually some interesting new features. Appmonster sounds interesting. I will get it but any idea where I can find an older version of Slacker?
Currently running the latest version of slacker on my 1.8.3 box and have no problems with it at all over 3g/4g or wifi.
Not sure if it is just with your device when you updated or something but my atrix is a-ok.

I'm running 505 as well and it has been running flawlessly for me. I had a ton of issues with the 3 previous versions. I am running 1.8.3 w/ gingerblur 4 and the 1.87 radio.
Have problems with the latest version if I run it in High Quality mode, but it will run in Low just fine. Same 505 version, issue happens on Wifi or "4g".

Holy crap awesome!
Probably going to need some custom built security libraries though that won't be easy to port. The .apk itself should be easy enough as it's built for the Teg2.
And Netflix was trying to tell us that they needed protected hardware sandboxing for HD content. What jerks.
sassafras
Porting it over seems unlikely. The Lenovo actually contains a physical DRM chip that's required for Netflix to run. At this point, it doesn't look like Netflix will ever appear on early Honeycomb tablets. Even if it does, it'll be a highly neutered version.

I just completed reading an article about that.
I guess with a little decompiling it might be possible to trick the new Netflix .apk into ignoring the DRM module.
If not, it'll be back to what I know and love: Piracy Arghh!

Isn't a little late for a Tegra 2 Tablet to jump in the game when Kal-El and similar chips are rearing its head for this fall? But these devices are going to be built well, I'm sure.

Not an old rumor. They're using software DRM now, but only for SD content. Content owners are still demanding hardware sandboxing if you want HD content.
Piracy for me in the meantime.

I'll take a 480P streaming version if I can get it. Doesn't look too bad on the TF. The fact that phones/tablets on 2.3 can run the regular Netflix app proves that it's not impossible on a Tegra 2. If they use the hardware excuse for older 3.0+ tablets, then you know it's a cop-out.
But yeah, all this HW DRM crap for HD content sucks.
I can see it in the store and install it now on my Transformer, but whenever I try to play something I get an error.

True that... I see that the Netflix app now supports the Atrix, which should be pretty much equivalent to the Honeycomb tablets (no DRM chip, Tegra 2). I'm perfectly fine with SD content on the TF, really. I currently use PlayOn for both Hulu and Netflix, and I'm pretty sure that never gets to HD levels but is still perfectly watchable.

Brutalpanda,
As everybody knows, they're other places than the Android Market to get apps for android devices on internet...
This was a very poor decision by RS Games. I bought the game on December 15 much like many other people on here probably did. I still have the game installed and everything runs well, but I would now be forced to backup the apk in order to make sure I can reinstall it later if I were to switch roms or whatever. Hopefully they bring support back soon, would be nice being able to download future updates.
I a company makes it harder (and really in this case impossible) for me to purchase something from, how could I feel guilty for obtaining it surreptitiously?
p.s. pirate bay is wholly unnecessary

Ok enough with the BS.
I got it, it runs fine on my Iconia.
I don't know what incompatibilty there is, but I've been trying for three days to get it from the android market. three days!
I flashed several different roms on my device including asus and motorola based ones! I even unsuccessfully tried to change my build.prop.
Nobody can say I didn't try.
I got it from a famous link site, I should have started there, i would have played the game the whole week-end instead of flashing roms.
Nicely done Rockstar.

Which is exactly why I changed my rating from a five to a two.
"I currently have the game installed in my Acer Iconia Tab A500 and everything works perfectly. It seems that Rockstar Games has decided to remove support for my device at least for the interim and I don't really appreciate that. It works very well for my particular device and Rockstar Games is now shooting itself in the foot since some people with unofficially supported yet capable devices will be unable to obtain the game legitimately which means their only option will be piracy."
