so i download it the update to my htc hd2....but im still having problems and i dont see a difference how can i be sure if i did the update correctly...can you tell how to find that out...?

I installed RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship on my tmobile hd2 now it wont start at all.. I got that from the htc site.. I think it was the wrong one how can I fix this?
Sorry but unfortunately you can't fix it. You bricked you phone by flashing an incompatible rom.
I cant believe that htc would let me put in my sn then let me download the wrong one...
I have no idea where you downloaded that from. I checked around the htc us site and there are no downloads available for the hd2 except for the start guide and manual. You must have downloaded it from the European site as that is a European rom from January (before the hd2 came out in the us). I don't think you can really blame htc for that.
why is it so. can anyone explain?
If the hd2 is of US and one flashes the rom from the european region, why does the cellphone have to be bricked.
I have an HTC Magic running Android 1.6
I would like a newer version, 2.1 or 2.2, however I am aware that Vodafone AU will not be releasing any updates.
Could anyone please point me in the right direction to get a ROM upgrade?
Please bear in mind I am new to this and do not wish to brick my phone!!

By the way... I am now downloading the official HTC Magic ROM with Sense using a serial number posted in these forums.
Given this is not strictly for my phone, although it is still an HTC Magic, will this ROM work? Is this safe to install?

did you get anywhere with this? How did it go? I am in the exact same boat as you, but am not sure how to go about it since htc dont provide an update for the Vodafone branded devices. I believe this is because of the Google logo on the back, and google thinks we shouldnt have sense if it has their logo on it.
Anyway, if you could let me know how you went with it that would be great.

Hi, im wondering if anyone can help me, i bought a HTC hero last year on o2. When i go to settings>about phone, there is no option for me to upgrade my software. It's still on 1.0.0.
IS there any way i can upgrade my software, as my phone is getting really slow and non responsive.
Any help would be very helpful
I had no idea o2 sold the phone. Check my newbie guide to root and install a custom rom. Probably the only way you'll see any sort of update.

i have HTC HERO G2 by T-Mobile Uk , i have unlocked it and using it since last 1 year , now one day i have got a message that system needs to be updated so i have said yes and i restarted my device and started installing new updates however it then stopped showing me error icon but no message and it was doing nothing so i have to switch it off and then switch on it restarted and didnt get any updates i want to know if there is a way to get the logs ? also i have ROM version 1.5 and if i want to upgrade to 2.1 is it that i have to be root ?.
i am not able to get updates from T-MOBILE site as getting message the upgrade is not for this device.

Check the HTC website. You cannot upgrade directly from 1.5 to 2.1 using ota as far as I know. So update to the latest ROM available for your carrier from the HTC website and following that you should be able to get the ota update properly.

so i just got this Trophy yesterday and i updated the firmware using the mango RUU posted here on XDA. I can't seem you to send MMS i have tried taking smaller rez pictures but they still say unable to send? There doesn't seem to be alot of settings options so I am not sure if there is anything i can tweak? I didn't try sending mms before i updated so I can't verifiy that it worked on the stock Trophy firmware.
I am new to WP7 and just want to check and see if there is something I am missing or did I mess my phone up by flashing that firmware here is where i got the firmware just so you know. and yes i got the verizon one.

it started working my signal was going wonky too so i had a buddy of mine push the "hybrid" prl back to my phone and seems fine now.
Well my Verizon trophy was able to update officially to mango through Zune . I have had no issues with MMS at all . Not even when I was on beta 2.. Strange , but maybe you should try getting on all official and try again .
