Have you ever encountered this phenomenon where, when you click an app it just takes you back to the main page. The app does not load at all.
Why does this happen? What is causing the app not load.
The only way for me to work around this problem, is to restart the OS. Powering down and then powering up again solves my problem. There have been no need for me to pull out the battery or use the Reset feature.
But it puzzles me what is going on in the back ground to cause this problem.
Marketplace is one app that i had problems with at times.
I just need to understand this problem. Cos i do not want to keep rebooting the phone to solve such problems.
I noticed this behavior yesterday -- specifically with the Marketplace App after my son had tried to install the Assasin's Creed demo. Seemed like the Marketplace was in a "hung" state at that point, which only an OS restart would resolve -- either that or waiting for the OS to fix itself, if that's possible.
You're not alone, and it's certainly something that Microsoft will resolve in their 1.1 update.
Honestly, this was such a minor issue for me, that I really did not pay too much attention to it, but it IS there, and I think it is an OS problem, rather than the LG Optimus' fault. How I fixed it was that I launched something else, like Facebook or Twitter ( basically something third-party ), and then pressed the start button. It seemed to resolve the issue for me, not sure what degree of success others will have.
The marketplace is fairly buggy and can cause you in some pretty irritating issues. I know Microsoft is working on it... with new servers and services sometimes getting everything right can take a bit...

i have my xperia a couple of weeks now. i like it very much but for one thing it crashes to much. the rom is orginal i didnt change that. i even used hard reset but didn't solve the problem.
it happens mostly when i click the x panel.
does anyone have the same xperiance ( ). or does anybody knows why it crashes plz tel me.

Unless you have touchflo 3d on your phone which cases it to crash like that. Nothing should crashes your phone like that. Hard reset and see if it does that again, exchange your phone if it does cuz thats not normal.

i did a hard reset yesterday.
sometimes it works great doesnt crash i can use everything. but somethimes i want to change panel i press te "x panel" it doesnt do anything i'm forced to use the reset.
i want to know of its hardware or software that couse the crash.
Mine does this randomly as well. I’ve seen it in a hand full of forums and it seems to be normal. The only thing I’ve installed is the Garmin XT software and it’s never running. I’m just guessing but I think most all of them do it but it’s being attributed to popular hacks and add-ons because it’s random and untimely and/or they exasperate the problem. It’s even one of the rumored reasons for the rumored recall. There are also some odd charging issues.
I’m trying to decide whether to keep it, hoping for a firmware fix or return before the 30 days runs out.

what do you mean with odd charging issue? like when charging it gets very hot?
i have that sometimes to only when im using the phone and charging.
i think there wouldnt be a recall for crashing i think it has to do something with the panel and maybe a hotfix can solve the problem. im curious of someone using a custom rom of they still have the crash problem. if anyone can reply that has a custom rom??
Sometimes it gets really warm and though it says that it is charging, it's not.

i am since 1 week a proud owner of fhis device. And please understand, i choose this device after allot of research en review analyses. I love it,the way it looks, feels etc. However after 1 week of testing and intensive using i came across many small issues that do create some irritation and i wanted to know what to do to fix them. That is if there are fixes available besides resetting the phone everytime they occur.
My first problem is the lock screen. If my phone is locked for a while and i want to unlock it, there is somtimes a good chance that my phone gets stuck and all i can do is resetting it
by removing the battery. My second issue is, that somtimes my opera browser stops rotating to landscape mode. Fixing this requires a phone reboot. My final issue which is the biggest, when i use the youtube app allot. After a while of using the volume control bugs out. Wheb you change volumes during the video, the phone freezes a tiny bit and then a windows error message appears.
What i would like to know if i can fix these problems somehow or if anyone else has simillar experiece as me.
Finally, i would like to know if it is possible to play youtube movies on the standard webbrowser, opera. i got skyfire installed, but it seems very slow and buggy.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I didn't have any of these problems initially so I can't help you there. It would help however to know what your ROM is, and if you ever updated your ROM.
The ROM my HD2 came with was messy and there were a lot of bugs. I installed Miri's 6.5.x rom and i have no problems whatsoever.
If you haven't done a ROM update before, don't worry it is not that hard, just write here and Id be glad to help.

Follow the link in my signature for Flashing LEO Roms for noobs. Install HardSPL and then pick a rom from many available and flash it via activesync (usb). I would recommend Duttys WWE Rom in in sig to start withbut there are plenty of others that are worthy of flashing.
Flashing a custom rom will fix your freezing issues, fix your opera roatation problem and most include a youtube app to play yourtube videos directly rather than having to go through opera.
If you need anymore help then just shout as theres always people willing to lend there ear and share their knowledge.

And also one time I had was that the search button(next to the home button) didn't work at all.
Everything appeared above was solved after I rebooted my cell.

I talked to some guys from my country(S. Korea) and what they mentioned was that it's the characteristic of WM itself.
Do you think this will be solved by doing some update???

its a problem that has been addressed by microsoft... there is a fix on the way.
I also have this occurance where you can't preview songs on marketplace and can't play the songs right after you buy it. Reboot fixed it.
I hardly need to reboot. Marketplace hangs when i try to install lots of things but its kind of random and rarely. Never had problems with zune tho.
also having cookies disabled will cause issues too. check to see if you disabled them by accident.

JUST coming from the android HTC Aria, i went ahead and paid full price (thanks IRS ) since i'm not available for an upgrade for another 4 months, and giving the Samsung Focus a 30-day run and so far i'm liking it. bright screen, Netflix on my phone..FINALLY (slack @ss android fragmentation), and everything all on 1 screen updated reg. can't complain. and this minor issue doesn't sway me from liking this phone any less.
i didn't believe it, but the Windows Phone 7 UI makes android's UI cartoony and outdated and Iphone's like it was made for an 5th grade (here's a button..push it)
looks like i'll be selling the HTC Aria on craigslist to make up for the $$ i spent.
Ok, so I've done some searching and I've found my problem is pretty widespread over a few different devices. However, it seems like no one has come up with a solution. My problem is this, SO a couple weeks ago I had the sync icon pop up in my notification bar. But then it didn't go away. I've tried looking on other forums for this solution but nothing yet. Thought I'd see if anyone here has the same problem and if possible, how to fix it. I can't help but think my battery life is suffering since it seems that since this started happening I notice the battery drain a bit faster than it used to.
I've tried several different possible solutions, except a reset. I loathe the idea of a reset, but if that's what I have to do then I will.

I decided to give up on my weeks long search for an answer online and called support today. Figured out it was the ooVoo application I had installed for video chat. It seems to keep your device in this perpetual sync mode even though you're not in that application. Once I deleted it the damned thing went away. My Tab, now with more battery power for Angry Birds.

I recently bought my first Android phone in the form of Galaxy Note. However I am so far disappointed with it.
The main reason being that Phone hangs way too often. Earlier I thought it could be due to apps I downloaded from the Android Market. There is no pattern, sometimes it hangs while I am using Market or sometimes when I am browsing Settings menu.
Most of the time when it hangs, I have to remove the battery, put it again and reset the phone. I am really disappointed with my experience. I have already experienced the situation where I could not restart the phone and I had to take the phone to Service center to resolve the issue.
But now even after formatting, Phone does hang intermittently. I am going to take it to the service center but afraid that the issue may not reoccur there and they'll give me some BS reason.
I am not sure if this is a phone problem or Android problem. Does anyone else face the same problem?
P.S. - I have the latest firmware installed on my phone.

i've owned quite a few and flashed many different firmwares and i've never experienced what you're describing

Thanks for your reply. Then this must be phone issue. I'll take it to the Samsung service center , let's see what they have to say.
Sounds like a defective phone. Mine doesn't behave like that.

I've had my Note for 2 weeks, never once has it froze.
100% you have a defective phone, take it back to Samsung service/repair centre.
Update - I took my phone to Service Centre and to my luck they too experienced the same freezing issue at boot start up. They have kept the phone for inspection and will let me know tomorrow.
I really hope they gave me replacement for my phone. Will update tomorrow.

Yup its a phone issue. My SGN hasnt had any issues yet. I am also using go launcher & added a couple of mods but not a single freeze in past 1 week.
Touch wiz on SGN is laggy compared to other versions.
These things happen to me when I try overclocking / undervolting too much but not on stock firmware. Looks like a defective device.

Try to flash a new firmware and check the problem again.
What have you installed lately?
When I first installed widgetlocker, I tried to set a 5x5 widget grid and my phone hung constantly. Using default grid works fine
Also. Vibrate notify also caused the note to lock up hard. Any system app that flakes out can lock up your phone.
Try to remove your sd card to test.
Some brands of sd card are not compatible with note.

As I had mentioned this is my 1st Android phone (and expensive one ), so I am not very adventurous with it at the moment.
I had downloaded following apps from Android market.
1. 3G Watchdog
2. Lookout security and Antivirus
3. etc
After my 1st major experience with Screen freeze, I performed hard reset and had performed updates for Flash, Google Maps. That's it. Still I found my phone freezing from time to time. There were no custom ROM or widgets on my phone.

I had not put SD card. 16GB is enough for me
As you guys mentioned, the phone was indeed a defective piece. FML
Service center guys wants to replace the faulty circuit with new circuit, however I am insisting on a new piece.
They say they replace the phone only if customer reports the fault in 4 days from purchasing which is BS policy. Not even a week complete and my phone started giving me trouble and they do no want to replace the phone. Big shame on Samsung for such stupid policies.
I have yet to hear from them as they want to speak to Samsung. Looks like I will have to raise storm to get my phone replaced. Rough ride ahead...wish me luck

I'd resist installing any security or anti virus apps.... Too intrusive and always running in the background.
