[Q] About to give up! Trying to load ANDROID on HTC HD2 Please Help! - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Ok, every worked fine my Phone details are:
OS version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila version 2.5.19202525.0
Rom version 1.43.110.2 (70315) WWE
ROM date 10/28/09 Radio version 2.12.50.02_2
Protocol version 15.40.50.07U
HSPL3 installed
Have cleared all added apps, factory reset, formatted sd card but android won't start left for 30 mins each time once overnight tried 5 times so far, with 3 diffrent builds seems to be doing something has got some failed script e.g.: failed to allocate the storage and something to do with e2sck1.41.4 Seems to be liking the battery alot in the script a page worth.
Any ideas?

Try to install the new official 3.14 HD2 rom en put a folder on ur SD card called "Android" and in that folder all the correct files. Maybe that works for u

Downloading now will give that a try.

Your radio MUST have .50 in it, not .51. I would suggest making sure you have a compatible radio or you will be wasting your time...

Ok that rolled back the radio, so have tried to re-install custom RUU and won't let me install the radio again and it won't install...pants. (edit) have found tha HSPL need re-adding, have now installed custom RUU still not loading android....
gets too:
Superblock invalid / mount failed
loads of script about the battery
Any idea?
Oh yes happy to admit I am a n00b at this.

What HD2 do you have in the first place? Assuming you have TMO-US HD2 according to the radio version you described here is what you need:
HSPL3 installed (make sure that you chose 2.08 in the drop-down menu);
CustomROM based on 3.14WWE latest T-Mobile / HTC update;
Radio Version you should go with is 2.15.50.xx;
and depending on what Android Build you go with place "Android" folder on the root of your sd card. If it does not load, try to delete Android folder and then copy only the content of the Android folder into the root of the sd card... it really depends how devs make it to work...
I got HSPL3, Energy 2.5GTX 3.14, Radio 2.15 and HyperDroid 1.7 with mychprima's kernel OCd and UVd - and everythign works perfect.
If it still gives you problems you have probably messed up in the beginning with HSPL maybe or something...

Sorted, lol I am UK not use was install HSPL3 I needed 2 Thanks for your answer I am sure others will find it most useful. Cheers

Flashing screw up

Hiya,
been having major issues with my HTC so thought it was about time to put a new rom and radio on it.
Was following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
Got down to step (USPL5d) and just couldn't seem to get it to work. Trying to flash on Duttys HD WM6.5 Leo Holy Grail R0 WWE
Based Rom 1.59 ( CE OS Build 5.2.21869.5.0.82 )
Got lost where I was meant to be posting what, regardless keeps saying updating to version 1.54. Pasted stuff into rom folder, rom folder into wrapper folder, moved .nbh around but couldn't get it to work?
Also, where is BLACIMG.NBH?
Many thanks
Hi.
RUU_Signed.nbh is the BLACIMG.nbh.
If you want to upgrade the rom using the micro sd card you have to rename the
RUU_Signed.nbh to BLACIMG.nbh.
But you want to update using USPL so you do NOT have to rename the file.
And the tutorial is good but have to do exactly what is stated there.
I am using HSPL so this is all i can help.
Any problems i am sure someone is going to help.
Good luck.
Hi,
Many thanks for the info. It appears I may have downloaded an incomplete file. Have since tried again with a different file and seems to have worked.
I have managed to flash the radio as well, although haven't a clue how to check what version it was. Took me months to get the phone sorted when I first got it with Tom tom etc, seems like I gotta go through this all over again
Go to the device information in the settings-system
and there is a software information section were you can find rom ,radio and other info.

[Q] Certificate problems

Hi..
Tried the latest Android Froyo build on my phone with some interesting results.
I downloaded Froyo, copied the Android folder to my SD card, hit CLRCAD and then Haret. Froyo started booting, but after 4-5 lines all stopped. There was nothing happening after 15-20 min, so i pulled the battery, and started the phone again.
Now i get the message (in Norwegian)
"The file <filename> cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists try reinstalling or restorig the file"
The problem is that none of the programs installed on the SD-card runs. They all get the above error.
I can not install any programs (reg editors) because i again get the above message. My registry editor that is already installed wont work, and i can not install anything.
I have tried Googling the problem and i've also searched the forums here in XDA. But i have not found anything that actually might work, because they all wants to install something. I can not install anything, and all of my 3'rd party apps doesn't work.
How do i disable the certificate verification without having to install anything or run any 3'rd part apps??
Is there maybe any program that i can run from my Win7 computer??
Thanks for all informing answers..
Certificate problem?
Exactly the same thing happens to me. Bump!
I'm also having this problem, seems to affect .exe files regardless of whether they are on the SD Card or on the device itself. Same cause as well.
2 reasons may be:
Either you run a stock rom and you need to install certinstaller search here on xda or run a custom rom
Or the sdcard is corrupt so you have to reformat
When you post issues pls give details as well like what hspl, rom, radio you use so people could help you out

Hmm, yeah, it's a stock ROM (for now). I cant't install anything so the certinstaller can't help me.... Now i have to find out how to run a custom ROM.
I have also reformatted the SD-cart with no luck.
My (for now) stock phone:
Manila: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM: 1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR
Radio: 2.06.51.07
Using a custom ROM as a base for Android will heed much better results.
Full instructions for flashing a custom ROM are found here (and here for TMOUS HD2).
^^^ Also I notice you have an old radio (2.06). I'm quite sure you need a 2.10 or 2.12 radio for Android...most people seem to have had the best results from 2.12. You will learn how to do that in the link above I just gave you.
As well, there are programs that allow you to edit the registry while connected via activesync that don't require installing anything on the phone.
Case closed
Well, it seemed like a good time to reset the phone now...
While having this problem, i upgraded the SPL with no problem.
Downloaded the newest Dutty-rom, and tried to upgrade, but because no 3'rd part progs will run, this didn't work. I had to hard reset the phone, and then upgrade the ROM and then the Radio.
Everything seems OK so far...
Thanks for all replies
any luck? i m having the same problem

[Q] execute CLRCAD and HARET for android on HD2

When I try to open the downloaded android files on my SD card by tapping first CLRCAD and then HARET I get the following eror message: Files can not be opened due to a not signed trusted certificate or one of its componenets can not be found. Please help I'm getting desperate. Have tried reinstalling everything several times. I have radio ROM version 2.06., maybe that is the reason? Thank you.
You have to allow unsigned apps to perform actions/install in WM
something to do with sdkcerts.cab in windows mobile... dont remember exactly.
Wait for sometime... someone will help you.

You answered your own question. New radio is called for I think.
are you running stock if so you need hardspl3 after that you need a custom rom , look for chunkyrom for android it works well , then look in to flashing a radio rom , search and you shall find
oh... forgot Welcome to XDA
Yes, first try changing your Radio to 2.12.50.02_2 (Hope u have hardSPL'ed ur phone)
Looks like you have problems due to ur smartphone not accepting unsigned apps....install sdkcert.cab (search forum) for WinMo
well this problem suddenly started occurring
i've been running android builds for months now and not once have I encountered problems running haret and CLRCAD.
but it suddenly happened yesterday when i tried to run Mdeejay froyo revolution 1.5 for the 2nd time (the first time was successful)
and it started giving me the same error message
radio: 2.15.50.14
Hi all, I faced the same issue above, sudden happen.... Im using Rom 2.15
wow are you guys all noobs?
just download bsb tweaks and enable unknown programs.
its called "Policies" something.. youll find it there.
(btw if you are connected to pc with your phone, disconnect it =\ then try)

[Q] [problem] Android wont install

hello,
I have a problem with Android installation, the 1st things is CLRCAD wont launch, and when i start Haret, it shows the black screen (which is normal) then it take a while and finaly just reboot the phone into Windows OS,
to make it clear,
I searched the forum before posting
I tried many android version, and it's all the time the same problem,
I was using android on my phone before
I formated the SDcard
My phone is flashed, and I'm using Enery ROM
if any solution, please help,
clrcad is an executable that won't actually launch anything, you just run it and then move on to haret.
you reformatted the card and searched, so that's good, but starting a thread definitely isn't the right way. ask in the Q&A or in a relevant thread would keep the place clutter-free.
anyways, you have the Android folder on the root of the sd card? the instructions for each build will be clearer, but most follow this rule. have you also tried another sd card, just in case?

have you tried doing a task29? if you have one of the SD card adapters for the microSD you can plug it direct into your computer and use windows to do the FAT32 format (not just FAT, make sure its FAT32) and reflash your preferred radio and rom combo for winmo. then drop on a fresh copy of android and run it. (i recommend redownloading your favorite build as well)
also......
why did you post the new thread here in development? thats breaking one of the biggest forum rules you say you always follow..... sad.
Check you RAM in WM. If it's 320mb, you can't run Android for now...

- htc leo 576 MB RAM size
- Manila version 2.5.20181527.0
- radio 2.08.50.05
- Rom thedarkone (dexter)
- Model # HTC HD2 T8585
- OS 5.2.23148
I am running my HD2 on the stock ROM: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe with SPL 3.03 (Stock, not HSPL). I read carefully instructions, and followed all steps, I am not going to describe them, used following Android build [30.11.2010] MDJ FroYo HD v. 4.0 [Kernel: MDJ S7.3HD].
After Haret.exe HD2 reseted, and there was only white screen with HTC logo quite a while. I soft reseted the phone, and after that reset almost all programs are unable to start, with following message: "The file ‘cecmd’cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found". It does not mean where are they installed, SD card or Phone storage. But not all of them, e.g. Opera 10 still runs. It also refuses to install new programs, installation process immediately ends, with "Installation was unsuccessful" ((
I digged the forum, and somewhere it was proposed to change registry value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies DWord = 0000101a - Change value from 0 to 1
But I can not do so: I can not run the registry editor, which I have on my HD2 (Total Commander), I can not install new, or install a tweak, and also when trying to edit registry from my PC through activesync connection with CE Registry Editor and Mobile registry editor it returns with error "access denied".
I do not want to make hard reset. I think there should be a solution, other than HR or flashing new cooked ROM.
Thank you in advance.

I found the solution Special THANKS to JZ SmartMort
Following simple steps:
1) Download following file: http://www.internet-tools.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/sda_unlock.zip
From archive we need only SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
It allows Registry to be edited from PC.
Run it with working Activesync connection
2) Download Mobile Registry Editor: http://www.zipsoft.ru/catalog/mobile_registry_editor-v1_11.html
Also run with working Activesync connection
3) and modify the following keys to the values listed.
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101b","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001005","4 0")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101a","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001001","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001017","2 4")
It perfectly worked with HD2, but I guess it should work with all WM devices.
FYI, here are some other useful software packages that relax the security.

Hi - I think your response here may have answered my thread as well The end of this dream..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859504
There one thing you can do to run Android on your HD2. yes, I have an HD2 too and currently T-Mobile. 8 month experience with it.
I noticed your Radio is 2.08. There is a latest version which is 2.15.50.14. If you flash your radio, it might going to work. Try it though.
Since you already got HardSPL, you are good to flash radio. Get the 2.15.50.14 in the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787

[Q] Noob with a HTC HD2 wants to install Android

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use Android for my HTC HD2(vodafone branded) last week i have downed and installed the latest rom of Vodafone wich results in the SPL version 3.03
Before flashing my ROM i would like to use the SD version first to get to know the difference between Android and WM6.5
After that i would like to permanently use the ROM version of Android.
I'v read a lot of topics about Android but i cant find a topic were you get the info and step by step tutorial from scratch to a good working Android system.
What i do know from the topics is that Android only runs from 2.08 and i have 3.03 so i have to use HSPL4.
I also would like to backup the Dutch Vodafone ROM if ithat is needed.
So maybe someone can tell me what to do to get first Android on SD card working and then if the interface of Android is the thing i would like to have how to get it flashed to my ROM.
Hardware HTC HD2
Vodafone Branded(Dutch)
Software SPL 3.03 with vodafone crap.
Greetings
Baleno
Hi, this thread will answer all of your questions.
I'v postet a message about installing Android on my HD2.
I got refered to a topic wich is guide how to.But reading this i still dont understand if i have to use HSPL4 because my SPL is 3.03.
There is also something about your bootloader, in some pictures i saw an andoid icon on the HTC-sense menu.
So now my wish is to install android only on the SD card wich can be started from the HTC-sense app or the SPB mobile shelle app i dont want a question or program on my bootup to switch between android or winmo, because this would be program that will be installed BEFORE the bootup from winmo6.5 so if your phone crashes, bricks or your installing a new original ROM this will result in an error message because the link to the boot sequence is gone.
Resuming everything
What Android software custom or whatever do i need for installin on a SD card
Do i need HSPL to protect my original ROM before using the sofware SD android version
Do i need the bootmenu
Can i replace the vodafone branded ROM to an Original HD2 ROM so the vodafone bootlogo is gone and all the other vodafone crap.
I would be very gratefull if you can tell me how to realise this.
Software Android first and pherhaps later the ROM version
HTC HD2
Manilla 2.5.20181527.1

Yes .. you will need to remove HSPL and Android ..
Dl the Stock WM and install before sending back ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
4) Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a STOCK WM ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
Ok so if i'm using the setup android files till 400 i will have an android system on my ROM.What system am i installing the FRODO or the Gingerbread and wich version.
Also Resuming i have to use the HSPL 4 version and select the 2.08 SPL version...Do i also have to update the radio and manilla version because im going back to a former system software or can i use the setup android files after this. After installing the setup android files is android then ready for using or will i have to do something else.
By the way thanks for your help.
Another question my HD2 doesn't have the 576MB RAM it has 448MB and Flash MEM of 512MB, do i have to install a different ROM to get the prefered 576MB to Run Android on a SD card.
And finally can i install without using the HSPL the original HTC ROM instead of the Vodafone branded ROM.Because i'm gettinng the idea that the vodafone Branding is just a software brand and not an Hardware brand
Because there is still no one replying or posting to this topic after my two questions.
I tried two different Android versions the gingerbread version and the frojo version with sense.
these two i'v started with CLRCAD and Haret in the explorer of windows mobile each on an different SDHC Card, after this the Android OS is booting and working but the Frojo version is draining the battery life and is slow in operating, The gingerbread version is more faster then the Frojo and easy to use.
the Frojo version is more finished i think because everything works. it automaticly installs the right setting for mms and internet for your provider.Instead the Gingerbread you have to do al yourself
MCCM_GB_Gingerbread_HoneyComb_Sense_v2.1.1._SD__Android_2.3.2_
and the other is the
MCCM_HD_V4.0__Desire_HD_
