Gunawan-GN Multimedia-X10i

Already able to connect to SEUS but pity still no update for Indonesia
Gunawan-GN Multimedia-X10i

sad.. still no update in indonesia..

i updated to 2.1 and everything is working well except for the wifi. Well it seems to work but it just can't establish a connection. Every time i try to connect it fails. I tried 3 different connections so far. Anyone having same problems?
EDIT: there seems to be some kind of a bug. It does connect but only occasionally, when it feels like it

You can edit your build.prop if youve rooted your phone.
Sent from my E15i using XDA App

Indonesia still did't get official update. But,if your phone is rooted, you can change build.prop to one of SI code that already have the update.
My X8 is changed to 1242-4841 and it's 2.1 now

Does anyone else have a problem with Android Market after updating? I had to reinstall market five times before it worked... Using 2.1.
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Edit: I have a Malaysia model and no Voice Dialer or Search. Why?

Anyone w/ 2.0.1.A.0.47?

Hi all,
I have an X8 (E15i) and I'm in Ireland using Vodafone. I'm currently on Firmware 1.6 build # 1.3.A.0.50Kernel Version 1.6.29 [email protected] #1
I've installed PC Companion and run the update option only to be told my phone is up to date!! WTF???
I see on the "About Phone" menu there is a "Software Update" option which I also ran and got the same answer i.e. "Your phone already has the latest software".
I'm really confused. I thought 2.1 was readily available for the X8.
Am I doing something stupid or forgetting to do something?
Ben

The update may not be available in your region yet.

Thanks a-k-t-w, do you know if there is a schedule published of when each country will be receiving 2.1 for the X8?
Alternatively, is there a step by step guide for rooting and installing 2.1 manually?
Ben

I want to debrand this phone(not root). Are there any guides out there for this? I have a goldcard already but can't find any guides!
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/ I believe you can use these to flash it.
If you want to remove Voda or Tmob or Virgin you will see HTC deal with most of there settings with a Senses profile try using Launch Pro from the Market the freeversion will do your needs. see if that helps you

You need to identify the correct SI for your specific version, you can use 1243-9502 for E15a or 1242-7327 for E15i
Open this thread and follow the instructions, use the provided codes, the linked post have another codes for E15i model. In the post #12 of this thread are a lot of codes for both versions.

How to flash a custom firmware to your X8 with a flash tool
To flash a custom firmware, you need your phone with the latest version of Android 2.1.1, follow the previus steeps to update your phone. When done, follow this steeps.
The great custom firmware for X8 at this moment is Cyanogen Mod for mini, exist a version with Froyo (2.2), GingerBread (2.3) and HoneyComb (3.0)
With any of this firmwares, you need to update with xRecovery installing update.zip from SD Card
To update, you need:
The latest firmware 2.1.1
xRecovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426
The update.zip with the desired firmware
Cyanogen mod firmwares:
Froyo (Android 2.2) very stable for daily use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223
GingerBread (Android 2.3) beta: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753
HoneyComb (Android 3.9) alpha: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753
To install the custom firmware follow this procedure:
Have the battery minimun in 50%
Copy update.zip in the root of SD card
Boot the phone and enter in xRecovery mode
I recomend to perform a backup of you current firmware. To do it, in xRecovery mode go to Backup and restore and select Backup
In xRecovery select Install update.zip from SD card to install the new firmware
In xRecovery select Factory reset (full wipe)
In xRecovery select Reboot and wait for 1 to 5 minutes while new firmware boot the phone

The main difference is in the UMTS bands
E15a have UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100
E15i have UMTS/HSPA 900/2100
And all Firmware work in boot devices, but the bands are differents and don't work, I think drivers, but don't know how to correct it.
Well, I imagine there will be a difference in firmware then? Are there any special 2.1 firmwares for your phone yet?

To E15a don't know if exist any 2.1 firmware and don't have a customizations code for this model, I only have 2 codes, the original in my phone 1245-1217 and the used to flash 1.6 and going back to 3G support 1236-9457, these codes don't have upgrade yet.
If you know any customizaton code for this model, i can try to flash or update via PC Companion.
Thanks

use a e15i 2.1 firmware, with the a e15a dsp1.sin
Hi you should be looking for this,
Use e15i 2.1 firmware flash files, replace or add (when not there) flash file dsp1.sin with the a e15a one.
The dsp1.sin contains the modem processing(UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100).

Did you empty the temp and db folders as I said? If you've already searched for an update before, files inside those folders can prevent the application from finding the update even if you change customization code.
Did you verify the code change by checking the service menu?

I found a different think, when I buy the phone and check for update, i make a repair with PC Companion and this download and flahs de firmware without any problem, when I flash 2.1 firmware with loader.sin, and back to 1.6 flashed with Omnius and try to make a recovery, the PC Companion indicates that my phone don't have any software.
In the log of PC companion I can see that the detected model is E15i red, I think that loader.sin flashed with russian firmware changes de behavior of this model.
What do you think about?

Do not quite understand what you mean here. Did PC companion detect your phone as a E15i even after reflashing the stock E15a firmware?
Hi, I'm from Italy and I have the same problem. My X8 is an E15a and I didn't manage to update to 2.1! I know for sure (from italian forum) that there is a 2.1 update for X8 for italian market but I tried and tried with no results...
I managed to update to 2.1 with russian firmware but I lost 3G capabilities, so I downgraded to 1.6 using a ROM image found on the web (E15a_Generic_Global_1_2_5_1236_9457_R3A) flashed with Bin4ry.
@erak: PC companion doesn't give any info about the model (E15a or E15i) just says connected). If I try to make a repair I always get an error message.
Is there a way to get the right dsp1.sin file?
Any help is very welcomed!

[Q] Problem with PC Companion/CDA

hey guys,
i´ve put the Generic Global Rom (Former LAM - 1234-4820)on my x10a to get all the updates from SE (.24 and etc) using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
well, it turned out that since then, my phone is "emergency only" and "no signal" all the time.
now I´m trying to return to Generic BR Rom (the one I was using before) through the same method, but PC Companion just ignores it and re-install the Generic Global Rom
any idea how can I return to the BR Rom or solve this signal problem???
Model: X10a AAD-3880074-AV
running default SE 2.1 Rom (2.1.A.0.435)
thx

Do you have multi touch in that ROM?
This must be a newer version than .24 ROM according to this
http://www.ptcrb.com/ctiastaff/complete/view_complete_request.cfm?modelid=16756
Dual Touch, Yes, but still with that problem when crossing axis; just like the hack
By the Way, Is there any Brazilian x10 owner Here?

[GUIDE]Easy way to brand/debrand or change firmware

I've used this methode alot on my X10 and i just tried it on the Arc and it still works great! To do this you'll need root and root explorer(or an other methode to change your build.prop) and a locked bootloader otherwise seus & pc companion wont work
I'm not responsible if you break your phone!
How to:
- Look up the customization number of the firmware you want to change to in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1082368
- Open root explorer and go to \system and open the build.prop file in the text editor
- Change the following three lines:
ro.product.name=LT15i_XXXX-XXXX
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/LT15i_XXXX-XXXX/
ro.semc.version.cust=XXXX-XXXX
Change the XXXX-XXXX into the customization number of your desired firmware
- Press the menu button and save & exit
- Reboot
- If you are using pc companion on you computer go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Ericsson\Update Engine\db\13740270\
And delete the blob_fs folder
If you re using SEUS on you computer go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270\
And delete the blob_fs folder
- Shut down your phone
- Use SEUS for update or use the repair function in pc companion
- Reboot and enjoy your new firmware
Worked for me Changed SI from UK generic to UK O2 and after reboot, PC Companion picked up the 2.3.3 update straight away
The irony of course is that it's actually an O2 phone anyway which I'd debranded after I'd bought it by flashing UK generic firmware! Thankfully the O2 firmware actually seems to have less crap than the generic one...
An easy way to debrand it for me was to reinstall the software using SEUS. It wiped out all the Orange stuff that was on mine.

That's weird when reflashing without changing SI numbers it should reinstall the original branded firmware

thank you so much you have been so helpful, gave you 2 thanks for all the help you've given me..trying it right now..
Would changing my number to somewhere where the 2.3.3 update is available already allow me to get it?
Also, does doing this erase your phone?
EDIT: Never mind the first question, didn't read through the posts in this topic.

Hi can anyone help a confused noob!
My Xperia Arc started life as the UK t-mobile branded one.
I used the helpful guides here to debrand it to the global .181 one.
However I keep trying to check from time to time for updated software to 2.3.3 and it says I have the latest one.
I can see a UK generic firmware released.
Now if I re-flash to that one - can I then update to 2.3.3?
I thought the purpose was that if I debranded to global .181 one - being global it would get the update more or less faster then other firmwares?
Sorry for the noobish questions - any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi thanks for that but you say I need "root and root explorer" - sorry where do I get these from? I presume my bootlocker is locked by default as I have not touched that part of the phone but do I need to root my phone as well? I haven't done that yet.
