Change Service provider - Imagio General

................

I may be wrong but i am assuming when you flashed and got this problem you must have also unkowingly flashed your radio with another.
after flashing stock, make shure the stock install contains not just rom but radio as well.
Try a carrier cab,
or try a cab with your carrier phone codes (example: ##778# for Sprint)
Then you can then "view" or edit the radio settings, if you know what your doing.
You can see what if anything has changed.
These settings are not supposed to be affected thru any flash,
except mayby if you flashed a different carrier files.
You can also try to search for an "update profile & prl" cab for your device.
Last resort is bring into Verizon, with stock flash and prob re-lock your device.
Might even get a nice replacement.

....................

no it should be for your particular device unless stated works for your device.
a stock flash should have included it. you should do that, then bring in store for service .
There should also be a exe in windows called epst i think to get your profile going you have to reset after presseng.
i forget i havebt done that in a year or so..

How do I change the PRL on my phone?

I currently have a sprint HTC Vogue and I am trying to flash the Verizon PRL onto it so I can use it on the PagePlus network. Everything I have seen says to dial #775#, but when I do that, my phone just tries to dial the number. I was using NSFAN's rom, and I even tried other roms and it does the same thing. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Which rom are you using now? If you are flashing a custom rom, more than likely you have a folder called "Phone Codes" somewhere in the Start menu. In there, you will have one that is called PRL. You have to have the MSL code to change this value though.
Get the PRL that you need and dump it somewhere in your phone. When you open the PRL program in phone codes (and you enter the MSL code), simply tap and hold where it says the PRL version and click on "Edit" (or whatever option you get), look for yours, and presto! Save, exit (you will be asked to soft reset).
Hope this helps.
Thanks. I have the MSL. I am flashing the official Sprint WM6.1 rom right now out of desperation, but I can put whatever on there. Do I need a custom rom in order to use the "phone codes" folder?

To get it in folder format, yes. But if you are going for a stock rom, then simply use the codes and you'll be in good shape.
I want to change PRL in my HTC.
I can access to ##775#.
But I can't find anywhere to PRL file in my phone.
I want to change PRL by myself.
Sometimes, I can use my phone.
But most of times, it shown searching and if i got signal, it shown antenna only. So how should I do? Please help me.

Have you tried to use the *228 (or whatever Sprint's equivalent is)? It should automatically provision your device.

When I flashed my Sprint Vogue for Verizon usage... I first had to flash the newest stock Verizon ROM (You can find it on NuAngel's goodies page at the bottom! Yes the radio change one!), then flash a Verizon PRL to the phone. Nu told me I would have to reunlock the phone afterward, but I didn't need to.
I was then able to dial *228 and program the phone! After the phone was programed, I could finally flash ROMs onto it and still have working service. This phone didn't like NuVogue 5 (even though most of NuVogue's development was done on this phone.. wtf). Nu cooked a Verizon specific NuVogue 5 and it worked a bit better, but I remained on stock until I was able to cook my own build (still working on, I have plans on posting it after conferring with Nu and stealingz some of his ideas).
I can update the phone roaming via *228 only with the stock Verizon ROM (does not work on ANY cooked ROMS I have tried!!), but because the phone still has a Sprint PRI (feel free to message me instructions on switching to a Verizon PRI, cause I haven't found them yet), I get the roaming triangle. I used the latest moded PRL found in this thread here (51831) and I've been great ever since.
I try to avoid Carrier generic ROMs (or cooking my in development "XevRev" [tentative name] as generic) since they reflash the PRL, which is just a pain in the butt imo. I plan on trying NuVogue 6 when Nu and I go to hang at his place sometime this coming week, I want to see if its improved over the previous release on this phone. Can't explain why the release ran so waked out in v5 on this phone..... anyway...).
*links removed because I haven't been validated by the mods. I recommend site admin get a Stop-forum-spam (Google to find since I can't link) plugin for his vB forum. XD It's a lot easier then manually chasing down spam.. trust me.*

Droid X crashed, uh oh.

Got the Droid X to activate it on Alltel like I did very successfully with my Eris.
Installed HW virtual serial port software, created the virtual serial port, phone was detected and showing up correctly in QPST, went directly to CDMA Workshop and ripped the NV file from the phone, edited all the NV information to alltel's 3G provisioning with a HEX translator, uploaded the NV file to the phone and uploaded the Alltel PRL... all seemed well. Restarted the phone, it now shows no service. When I go to Settings, it tells me the baseband version is "unknown" and it doesnt know the ESN or anything, that isn't good. I tried reconnecting to CDMA workshop, if I try to restore original NV file, it doesn't know the SPC anymore so it doesn't allow it, SPC 000000 isn't recognized now. How can I recover the radio ? I tried restoring it (hard reset) through the settings, security menu AND the Power+home buttons way. After restoring, still no service and SPC is still incorrect, how do I get the radio back to default values ? CAn I reflash the phone? Anyone know where the factory rom is so I can do this ? Ah man, help me please :O
Other than that, I guess I'll have to have motorola take a look at it since I don't have it signed up to a verizon account, my bet is that verizon won't help me. thanks
Did a system "full reboot" help any??
No it hard resets normally and reboots to the welcome wizard, functions perfectly, but still "No Service" and "unknown" baseband in the settings...
I'm thinking I'll have to have the stock Rom file to flash my phone, hopefully this will flash the factory baseband too or maybe tomorrows update will fix my broken baseband, looks like from the information, it updates the baseband, wonder if it will update a totally dysfunctional baseband?
Yikes,.. this blows.
I don't understand why you didn't back up the rom if you were attempting something like this.
There is a Droid X update coming pretty soon, so I'm sure by that time the new rom will be available.
Well, I backed up the NV items, I figured that would be sufficient, guess not, Trial and error I suppose, but you're right.
What software do I use to back up the rom of the Droid X ? I know there is a key sequence on the Droid, what about the droid X ? The recovery screen (Power + Home) brings me to a menu allowing system recovery/wipe install update.zip from memory card, and thats it.
I have a buddy right here in town down the block that got the droid x with me, can I back the rom up off of his and flash that rom to my phone?
Help is SO appreciated...
EDIT
The system dumps that are floating around the web, is that a ROM backup ? http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/114-new-droid-x-retail-dump-straight-out-pot.html
Can I put that file in the SD card as update.zip and flash it?

why not use QXDM to modify the ESN?
Worth a shot...
You can try using the motorola troubleshooter. Its what they use to update your phone anyways and since the new update came out you might be able to install over what you did...I cant post a link because Im new but follow the instructions below and it will walk you through the update process via computer. I figure with a phone thats not working its worth a shot.
Go to Motorola's website and click the droid advert right on the left side of the screen.
Under the "Support" tab in the upper right hand corner is another tab called "Owner Support" click on that.
On the left hand side there are more tabs so this time click on "Update My Software"
It will give you a list of options, choose "Via Computer"
From here it will check your computer for their software and prompt you to download it. Its the troubleshooting software and it will ask you a few questions, its also what they use to update your software via computer so it may be capable of flashing your phone for you. Best of luck and let us know what the end result is.
I haven't tried either of these... but I'm about to start flashing a droid X to cricket and bookmarked these posts in case I mess something up. Proceed with caution as I have no first hand experience with these.
I'm still trying to get a handle on if the service programming parameters (the spc, MDN, MIN, SID, etc.) are updated as part of baseband updates, it sounds like they are since they are saying the device needs to be re-activated after applying either of these updates.
If a baseband update refreshes the service programming parameters here are the two ways I've found of updating the baseband:
Here's a link to a post for updating the baseband portion of your device (without updating the ROM):
http://alldroid.org/Default.aspx?tabid=62&g=posts&t=246
I don't know if this will work on a device that doesn't have a valid baseband prior to the update. Regardless, if your phone is bricked this may be a valid option to try.
There is also a 2.1 SPL file floating around which is the entire system image, the baseband and the rom. You will need to use rsdlite to apply this image to your phone. DO NOT APPLY THIS IF YOU ARE RUNNING FROYO.

[Q] Need help with metropcs verizon xv6900

Well, I was trying a few roms a few days ago and later i decided to go back to stock, I accidentally let the customizations run, and it went back to verizon, but i flashed the 0068 (or something like that) PRL file to the phone using EPST, after that I dialed *228 and updated the PRL to 02004 (latest MetroPCS PRL file), but i still cant use it, (i realized just 5 mins ago, 2 days after prl flashing -_-) I called the customer support just now and they said they just reset the device and I should shut it down and restart it, so anyways my question is:
I can't use my phone, I cant call, text or use web, and no one can call me, it says service not activated when i try to connect to the internet, and I cant use my voice mail either(LA 01 message something error) What should I Do?
Thanks guys.

The only thing that comes to mind would be for the VZW customizations to actually modify more than just PRL (but mess with other EPST settings as well). Just to confirm, did you have your phone working on Metro before this?
yes, it was working perfectly, even the mms and web were working :|
EDIT: I can call *611 and *228, oh wait i think i said that in the first post...

If you had 2.31 installed, the device should still be unlocked. Try running a hard reset/flashing another rom and see if that helps. I have a feeling that you will need to go into EPST and play with your MSID and MIN values and a few other things as well.

I hard reset on stock rom and didn't let the customizations run, then flashed 3.42.30 (alltell rom i think) and with out resetting the device I just put the nfsfan's rom in the sd card and flashed that, it still didn't help, can someone give me the settings for the PST.
Thanks for the reply

3.42.30 is a radio and not an actual rom. My guess would be that, unless you have them stored somewhere else, you will need to call Metro and ask them to help you re-program the phone. Couple of pointers:
a. Don't tell them that you have a Vogue (let alone a Vogue running 6.5) since they have little/no experience with WM devices.
b. Using BAFMSL, get your MSL from your device (you will need this to unlock and edit the EPST parameters. My guess is that you read the ESN to the Metro rep, who calculated an MSL, which of course did not work (here I am assuming that the ESN on your device has been cloned from another phone)).
c. What you want to get out of the rep are the numeric parameters for:
MIN (normally your phone number)
MSID
HomeSID
Don't assume that he/she will be able to guide you through the editing process because they simply won't know how. A simple "yes, go on" every time they tell you to change something will suffice. Just make sure you write the numbers down in a piece of paper.
Do this and get your numbers. If they are any different from the ones that are currently loaded, then your issue will be solved.
Just thought of one other thing. You said you went back to stock Verizon. Which radio did you have before that? And what radio did the Verizon rom take it to?
well, I had it metroflashed, and i can't do it again as i don't have any money now (only 15 years old xD), it has original ESN, does this change anything?
and btw, i can edit the epst, (the code is six 0s) or i may be wrong )

Nah, Metroflash via Houdinisoft does two things:
1. It will add the ESN into Metro's database and will link it to your account.
2. It may provision your phone. I say may because I have seen, more often than not, that Houdini fails to provision any device that runs WM.
Asking you again about the radios. What radio did you have prior to flashing to Verizon stock and what did the stock flash the radio to?

Yes, I was asking because I was afraid that you went below 3.xx.xx on the radio as this has been known to cause issues, including leaving phones completely useless.
Did you get the parameters from Metro as I suggested earlier?
well I got rid of the phone, as the representatives were not helping me at all (I talked to 5) so I am just going to buy a LG rumor touch (virgin mobile) and my other choice is Tmobile G1 but can I get it without a data plan?

Only if you buy it without contract (the G1, that is). Sorry that you couldn't get it to work. I am sure that it was only a matter of re-programming the device.

HELP! No service problem

Hi,
I hope someone here can help me. The other night I was browsing the net at home (wi-fi connection) and after a while, if I'm not wrong, I've seen that the phone lost the phone/line connection, but I was not that worried: 1)I was in an area of my home where the cellphone line is not that good, 2) I was about to turn off the phone. The problem is that the next morning I turned it on and got "No service" and there was no way to get the operator line.
Tried the following things:
1) I didn't have the last version of MIUI so I updated it
2) Tried with an old release
3) Made a full wipe
4) Tried another kernel
5) Tried two different radios
6) Set a just rooted-Stock Rom
7) Tried an old august backup
8) Tried sim of different operators
All these things didn't produce any good result.
I also can tell you that the bars of the signal (close to the clock) are visible and the line is very good but if I try to select manually an operator I get "error" something like "now is impossible to connect to this operator, try later".
I really hope someone can help me and is not an hardware problem (but now I don't really now...)
Thank you and have a nice day!
sorry for my poor english that i did not read all post
but
first of all , get outta home , find somewhere outside because there has better single.
try flash a new radio.
go to MOBILE NETWORK SETTINGS ---> NERWORK OPERATORS
select "SELECT AUTOMATICALLY"
and ... sometimes MIUI does have single lost problem , if all of these don't work , try flash Stock ROM to determinate if its ROM problem , radio problem or , in the worse scenario , the hardware problem
Yes ok...thanks for the effort but is clear that you didn't read the post. I tried all of that and trying to select manually doesn't work.
Any radio version suggested?
Try the KB3 or the new kf1. Kd always gave me radio dumps couple of times a day with miui
Tried with KF1 no luck.
Any other suggestion?
Ok one update:
typing *#*#4636#*#*
I can see my operator, my IMEI but NOT my phone number.
My phone number doesn't show as well. Did u manage to get your phone to work again? If not, have u tried putting a different sim from the same or a different operator?
I tried almost everything...nothing works. Tried different sims, different operators...nothing.
What model do you have? And did you by mistake flash a wrong radio. A one that wasn't supposed to be for your phone ( I'm outta ideas)
Try
*#*#72786#*#*
Put msl
Select yes
U need to move the EFS files into root of SD.
Nv.log
Nv_data.bin
Nv_data.bin.md5
U must flash a compatible radio first then move them with root explorer
Reboot the phone and ull be fine

Nokia 6 "select radio band mode

I accidentally selected the United States radio band in the *#*#4636#*#* phone information menu. Since I'm not from the US this disables the cellular radio on the phone for my region.
There's no other options in the "select radio band" menu other than "united states". Online solutions mention an "auto" setting but there's no such option in that pop up menu.
I've tried a factory reset to resolve this but it didn't work. I've also tried different radio settings in that phone information activity (LTE, CDMA etc). I've tried resetting network settings in the system settings app. I've also tried reinstalling the latest OTA update (September) through recovery but it did not change the radio back.
Erasing the modem state using fastboot won't work since the device has a locked bootloader. I assume it fails for me because of a locked bootloader anyway. This was a suggested solution for others and I feel like it would work.
I think a full firmware flash would also fix it but I don't see any TA1033 firmware files anywhere and Nokia still haven't released any tools either.
What do you think?
I use the Indian version. I'd faced the same problem while doing the same *#*#4636#*#* settings. I also did all the above solutions which u mentioned. At last I had to go to Nokia service centre and told them that this happened all of a sudden and didn't disclose 4636 setting thing,as they might use it as a void of warranty issue. They simply rolled back the system to June version and the phone was back to normal. But one thing that I'm facing now is that I'm now not getting any update to the latest one. I think they might have block it or something coz I don't know much about android. I need to go to the service centre soon. If u r going to the service centre make sure that they don't block the update setting.
