Pics of Dell Venue Pro contents or Video unboxing - Venue Pro General

Any one got the Venue Pro has either pics or a video of it. I really want to see what comes in the box and people's first impression of it. It'll hold out for me until I get mine next week

I don't have any pictures of the accessories and the box, But I just posed shots of the Venue pro along with the HD7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833298
The box comes with USB adapter (1Amp), Ear plugs (goes in your ear not like the iPod plugs) and USB cable (little short and looks very pathetic like the ones you pick up @ frys for a buck)

Thanks very much

Thanks. Just saw this retweeted on #dellvenuepro from which is probably your twitter account. Very nice video

Forgot to mention: the phone was $449+ tax contract free and $200USD for new activations or upgrades.

He probably wants a 'physical' action to answer calls with. Unlike many other phones, there are no buttons for pick up/hang up, so if you're unable to use the touchscreen for some reason (e.g. wearing gloves), another way of answering the call would be useful.

p.s. audio and video BLOW on the HD7. Dell blows it out of the water.

Thanks for the videos, very helpful. The Netflix logo look more vibrant on the Dell and once again the HD7 is slower opening an application. Looks like the Dell all the way for me.

Added another short video showing how to remove the microSD card and demoing the speakers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weOg1dzPmU0

Actually its better off this way, so that whenever I have to load any media on the card, I dont have to pull out the battery and it would take for ever to reboot.

It was mentioned somewhere that HTC forbids them to review too deeply about the software, only hardware and superficial stuff. guess they are still working out some kinks.
hmm, fishy... no video playback testing, come on...
I was hoping to take good pictures with 5MP camera. Other review says that the camera performs fast and this one the opposite.

damn i really just need one single thing to make me sell my almost new diamond to get this HD monster... video perfomance.... diamond video perfomance SUCKS but if HD handles well with it that screen and resolution would be killer....

Good.
I returned an Omnia because it was too small (easy to drop), too slow, and it had lots of crackling noise during calls.
No such problems on the HD.
Easy guys...
I did spend alot of lolly.. all sim free.. and nearing the 2k mark..
I do have more money than sense... but i got peed off with all the.. coming soon.. nearly.. we are going to stock it.. and no-one could actually answer some really straight questions..
Does it support Line 1 and Line 2
How quick is GPS lock
How usable in the hand is it.
What is lacking...
so on.. so forth
So i bought them ..and i'll pick and keep the best.. and offload the others i don't want
I initially thought.. 2 x1's.. one for me.. one for mrs
then she liked Omnia.. so.. thats that
then the HD... larger screen... blah blah
(i've found the Touch HD is just thin... but.. it lacks a DPAD.. and the size of fonts and menus as default are pretty much for the blind! there seems no point at general use to have all those pixels.. and set it up to use your big stump/club of a finger.)
May aswell just get a 6500 super big stupid thing,, and set the font up.
The X1 is a good phone. easily pees over the Touch Pro i had.
trumps it in every way.. which is really silly considering they could have tweaked it.. re-shaped (like Touch diamond is on T-mobile) and sold it as a Touch HD Pro. job done
I've got Touch Flo 3d on the X1.. and they run sweet!
i've managed to wedge the Sony Panels onto the HD.. but it totally runs first run .. panel view.. jiggling around panels... fish .. google... spb... x1.... sony panel...... but not after a reboot.... needs alot more work to make it solid.
i asked for help... thinking everyone would love to have the X1 front screen running on the HD... but not one person is assiting me.. so i will do it as i can
omnia from Korea.. i/collegue may have a trip due in the next few weeks.. so may just walk in.. and buy one.. and bring it back
Personally...
The X1.. i think takes the cake.. over the HD... but i will say.. i'd be very tempted with the korean omnia.
Touch HD spec... but in a samsung solid case.. and a camera that is better than the turd on the HD. I have managed to get the Sony Xperia cam app working on the HD also... bit better.. but pic is still not brilliant..and don't forget.. no camera

Don't dismiss that too easily. Bigger screen means everything to some of us, even more than GPS, camera, 3G, etc.

A D-PAD just takes up valuable screen real estate for me. I have no use for a D-PAD. I suppose if you're trying to play shooters that would be a problem
The font sizes are customizable, and should never factor into whether you are going to buy a smaller or larger screen phone.
A stylus is essential for maximum productivity, instead of big stumps. Luckily, the HD stylus doesn't require prying it out with your fingernails to remove it.

A minimum screen size of 3.5"is a requirement for me. Small screens strain eyes and make blunt fingers seem even blunter. Low-res but large screens prevent web pages and emails from displaying well.
The HD is the first WinMo GSM phone in 1.5 years to have a 3.5" screen and VGA or higher resolution, without being too thick or large to fit in a small pocket. This is because it uses the space wisely, instead of cramming D-Pads and keyboards onto it.

Hold on, the X1 does not have HD spec.
HD: 3.8" screen, X1: 3.0" screen
HD: .5" thick, X1: .7" thick
The 3.0" screen pretty much kills the X1 for me.

The HD's camera is worthless, but I don't buy phones to use them as cameras, even occasionally. Only if there was a once-in-a-lifetime chance and I had to capture something or lose it, would I consider using a phone camera. Otherwise I'll use D-SLR.

I've ordered a Touch HD. I've been dealing with GPS lag on my TOuch Pro since day 1...its when you are further ahead than where the gps is reporting you to be by 3-5 seconds.
Can you report if the Touch HD has GPS lag or not..and what gps applications you tested? I've herd Google so far is the only one that lags on the HD.

I answered that in a topic about it... The HD supports Line 1 and 2, the Omnia with Orange software does not. With generic software, it does though. Not too strange, right?
Indeed... I have read the comments...
I like the touch HD.. its a good attempt. Poor is the fact that with a little layout change.. the bottom 4 buttons could easily have had the X1/omnia type optical pad put on aswell.
Therefore.. you;d have a control for volume/up and down.. and skip forward and back when in coreplayer/mediaplayer.. seeing as it is very much penned as a media/internet/3g work/play horse / Iphone direct competitor.
I think the HD would be better if i could get a rom stripped of the large menu's everywhere... and get it to run as a PDA and then add large menu's/enable/disable.. and even better.. if you choose a layout that needs finger use.. or if your current layout warrants stylus
As for the Spec of X1 and HD being same... give or take a bit of ram ..i was on about internal goods.
Keyboard..i'm used to the TYTN II size... so.. moving to a more compact one.. has caught me out a few times...
But.. i for one.. did like the X1 panels.... i think it's thinking out of the box... (SE could easily have taken the TF3d...and re-skinned it.. but didn't)
I have done a proof of concept... that makes the X1 Panels (kinda) work on a HD
Anyways...
I got the panels kinda working...
It's only a proof of concept.. and after a reboot.. i cannot access them.. something freaky going on....
It shows it working. and quicker than the X1... just slightly.. but quicker.. All panels have been tried.. and work.. fish.. google... sony.. live (new panel from SE...)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443723
have a look... I think they look 100 times better than TF3d.

It's a misconception that a phone NEEDS any UI hardware buttons at all. We can pretend that the iPhone is crap all we want but it demonstrates how to make a good interface. Imagine putting a DPad on there... The screen would be little over half the size making it uncontrollable, and yes, then you suddenly would require a DPad or a stylus to navigate it, because your "big stump/club of a finger" certainly wouldn't cut it.
For the blind? On so many winmo phones I need a freaking stylus to find a contact, which is stupid. I've never seen a Blackberry or an iPhone require a stylus to find a contact... or for anything at all for that matter... Thank goodness they now feature devices with huge screens and great UI's so that I can use my big, clumsy stumps of fingers to GET WORK DONE

What do you mean with a bit better? Is the camera application better, as in does it have better features? Because certainly the camera application does not make your picture any more "brilliant"... The picture is a direct feed from the sensor which you can manipulate but you can't make the quality any better.
"Touch HD spec" is a little more than just hardware, and even that just doesn't match with the samsung... Why would anybody buy a phone because of specs alone? Any good smartphone has GPS, WIFI, fast processor, 3.5G, what not. Care. The silly Omnia interface versus the HD's touch flo for "blind people"? I'd take the HD every time.

I totally disagree.. The Pad i am talking about is the 10mm x 8mm high square pad found on the omnia and X1. the simple touch sensative pad... not the rocker around it. Samsung have done it fine.. and if the 4 keys were spaced...this would have been perfect nested inbetween...
just out of interest.. how do you skip forward on a video you are playing in Coreplayer?
oh.. you drop to windowed view.. then skip forward.. and replay.. well.. thats crap. the x1.. i just swipe over the square pad side to side for forward and back.. and up and down for volume. T.I.D.Y!

I agree.. but this should be a choice!... EVERYONE on here , wants to alter or change the standard form shipped by HTC, To make it more usable for each person.
That is what this whole place is about..
Taking what HTC have.. and make it different for differnt people.
I like the big ease factor buttons..and menus.. but maybe some would like a more tidy.. more informative display and they would rather use a stylus at times.

jealous? no. like someone said i couldnt give a flying _ _ _ _.

Got an iPhone 4 because of our shared ATT plan at the office. I want an EVO Now.

Well... I have had my iphone4 for about a day or so.
I am not happy at all. The cons out weigh the pros.
I hold my phone in the bottom left corner alot and low and behold my signal drops like a rock. I have had about 8 dropped calls in the last two days. I plan to return my phone to ATT.
Here is a video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfVaUFD5CKo
I can record in 720p video, but can not upload 720p from my iphone4 to youtube directly. I have to sync with my cable and upload videos to youtube from my desktop.
Can someone confirm that you can upload 720p videos to youtube from the HTC EVO4g? If so will it work over 4g, 3g, or wifi only or ALL?
I am just not impressed enough with the iphone4.
yeah you can easily upload720 p video right from the device, and if you use 4g youll be done in no time especially if its a long video. here is one that i uploaded immediately after i finished shooting it...
I recorded a video and uploaded to YouTube but it would only upload over WiFi.
I do not have 4g to test but it seems it would probably upload over 4g

Be careful with that iphone, don't put it anywhere besides in a padded gun safe, it might break before you take it back.
Here's a cheap fix to keep your hands off of the iPhone 4... only $10.26 and it doesn't cover the cool looking sides of your phone, but it does take advantage of the glass back! LOL!!!

That's good, but not quite polished enough. he still needs to shop out john's amazon.com and put steve's amazon.com above the search menu.

I took this video on my evo and uploaded it. Shows facetime failing...
I was going to get the iPhone 4 because of the 30fps cap, touch screen lag and grounding issue.
Well, turns out the amazing devs here at XDA managed to fix all three today. I am no longer returning my Evo.

And with that, we are seeing 40 - 55 fps, again, only half of what we should get. Please be aware that this is experimental, plus any custom kernel right now will not have a working camera. Bah, wanted to see some video recording options, some people are stating it actually has 720p despite the TECH SPEC on the web site.
Pretty funny how at the 1:50 mark she thinks the Nexus S can be used to make NFC payments. You'd think they would do their research beforehand

Not so? I've been trying to find some definitive info on what this phone's NFC capabilities are (and are not). Can you please point me in the right direction?

Almost positive the NFC chip is read only which means it can't transmit any data of yours to be able to make payments. All it can do is read the tags and give you the information on them? I'll try to find a link...
Google has confirmed the nfc was set to read only right now, but they kinda left it open ended, like it could be enabled to transmit in the future.

When Google makes public some testing videos high lighting the quality control followed by Sammy during the development of the Nexus S, just like they did with my Nexus One build by HTC...then and ONLY then...I will purchase this plastic crap.
If you want to burn 529$ in a bending=cracked-screen phone...then go for it.

Being a Nexus One owner
- How did I end up with such a bad digitizer? Not true multi-touch, where was HTC/google when they decided to go with cheap Clearpad 2000, screwing us with all sorts of screen issues?
- Why is the speaker so effin horrible, worse than my £30 phones?
- The menu keys seem to be mislocated with the screen, hence you have to somewhat press the top half (despite people saying this was fixed via software, it was not)
- Dust behind screen <-- WTF?
- Screen tearing
- Probably more that I missed
To be honest, the best part of HTC on my Nexus One was only the aesthetics look - with the unibody etc. Nothing else was of that great quality.
So please, lets take HTC off this pedestal which they do not deserve.
They even repeated the multi-touch issue on the Desire... I am actually happy they went with someone other than HTC.
Definitely gonna get this phone. It looks awesome.

That's the way I interpreted it too, like (for some strange reason) the NFC capabilities were software-crippled. I know there's a LONG way to go in building out the hardware/software to enable some of the more interesting NFC use-cases, but I just want to make sure that if I get this, I'm not immediately limited to only the most lame NFC uses. If all we're going to be able to do with this handset is wave to get an NFC-encoded web URL, this awesome new technology just saved me the 2 seconds necessary to open Barcode Scanner and scan a 2D barcode that translates to a URL. Lame.
I think Google really owes us some more detail on the NFC end of this device.

Thanks! I'll add them to the OP.
In the BGR video, "Google Nexus S ultrabrief walkthrough," it's strange the the four capacity buttons on the bottom (Back, menu, search, home) don't light up in general or when you press them. They're barely visible. Is that a feature to turn off those lights, or the angle we're seeing it from?
That's a little bizarre.

would like to know the battery life is like on this phone
I think it might be possible that when the ambient light sensor detects sufficient light to see the buttons without using the LED for them, it just doesn't bother. I don't need them to be lit up on my Vibrant all the time so I kind of see why they did it.

Mine apparently shipped from the warehouse on the 14th, and the Post Office dealt with it on the 17th (I only know this after badgering them on LIVE CHAT) but my tracking number is still not working. Apparently it can take a week after the Post Office have dealt with it for the tracking number to start working!

Yes I got it yesterday. And i am so disappointed. Disappointed because there is NO heart rate monitor at all! This option was the main reason why i decided to take it. Bluetooth connection between watch and sgn2 is dropping after few minutes. Both software - on watch and on phone is piece of s...! Only 2 watch faces: analog and digital.
This morning battery is already empty.
Screen looks good enough. Responsive touch. Clock i see is acurate. If it is true - it is sinchronysing with phone. There is simple control of media player: play stop forward backward and volume. It plays music directly on the watch. Sound is... listening at night when you are sleeping is more or less enough. There is no option to play music on phone.
I did not find how to control camera i couldn't take any picture. It looks like they payed attention to design of the watch - it looks good but else is left.

No I didn't say like that. It is more or less worth that money. I just bought not that one I wanted. I have read as much as i could find on internet about that watch. And a lot of places i have found info that this watch have heart rate monitor but in reality NOT. I cant figure it out how it happened. On the seller listing there were pictures showing like it is but not mentioned in the specification. So i can blame only myself for not clearing this question before bidding.
Later on i will post a few pics if you want.
And sorry for my English. I am doing my best.
Tell me please if you can see those pictures here:

I was wondering how can we use this smartwatch. I mean, what are the possibilities for it? Can I read incoming whatsapp on it? Mails?
That should be useful for me. Thanks!

how does it wear, comfortably or not?
and does it have a camera on the top of the watch, or what is that supposed to be?

It wears comfortably enough. And it is not so big like it looks. Silicon band is somewhere in the middle - not so hard and not so elastic. I have no problems with band. I have ordered gold color but I don't know... it looks for me like bronze, not polished or shiny.
Camera - NO there is NO camera on the board. That small window on the top of the watch is that what have tricked me. I was thinking that there is heart rate monitor but its not. There is NO nothing at all. I disassembled this watch and I am pretty sure.
One more thing. Yesterday I decided to try with another ROM on my SGN2. Installed "Android Revolution HD 31.0". Now I can tell that connection between SGN2 and this watch is much better than it was with Slim Colorz. During this day there were no interruption with watch.
