jabra cruiser and d2 no phone but have media - Droid 2 General

Seems like i can get media to play over device but no phone. When i go into options both are checked off. Wondering if anyone has ne ideas. Oh and sorry this not an overclock or a OTA or brick thread. I am rooted but stock rom!

Have you tried rechecking the phone audio and media audio boxes? Also try re-pairing to your headset.
I was having troubles with my Jabra BT620 having the opposite problem I could get phone audio but not media audio (but I was on Fission not stock). After re-pairing a few times it worked. I think the reason it got messed up is because I paired it to my laptop for audio and when I tried to pair back the droid2 didn't like it for some reason but I don't know for sure.

Wireless Stereo problem on 8125?

Hey, humans!
After searching through the forums for a couple of days, I thought I would go ahead and post to ask if anyone has a fix for the following problem...
I recently purchased the Jabra BT 620s stereo Bluetooth headphones, tapped the A2DP cabs, and got wireless stereo working (along with all of the buttons and the mic) right away.
Unfortunately, every time I turn off the headphones and reconnect them, they connect to the phone as "Hands-Free" only. In this state, I can use the answer/call/play/pause/etc. buttons and the mic, but audio is delivered through the 8125's speakers and not the headset. To fix it, I have to open the BT settings, click on the Jabra phones, Refresh (because it still says that the set is connected as "Hands-Free" and "Wireless Stereo"), and reactivate "Wireless Stereo" every time I want to listen to music.
Is there any trick/registry tweak that could help me bypass this extra step? Oh, and does anyone know of a media player that doesn't hog my resources like WMP, uses AVRCP, and can play streams?
Thanks in advance!
In response to my own (2nd) question...I've read that TCPMP respondes to AVRCP commands.
Does anyone know how to get them to work with the Jabra BT 620s headphones?
I'm continuing to look for a solution to my problem and find an alternative to WMP10, which sucks up so much memory.
I have finally managed to get Pocket Player 2.72 (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/download.asp) working with AVRCP. Although it is supposed to work right out of the box, I tried using it and received no feedback from the Jabra BT 620s's buttons.
While looking for a WMP today plugin -- one that I had hoped would have a smaller footprint while still allowing AVRCP controls to function -- I came across a post and eventually found a .dll for Pocket Player that allows me to use my Jabra's controls to influence the player.
Unfortunately, Pocket Player is a woefully bad player (even worse than WMP10 in my opinion!) and I can't get much use out of it because it “skips” constantly and forces the screen back on (it doesn't automatically shut off again) with every command from the headphones. However, for everyone who prefers PP and can't get Bluetooth to work through it, trying downloading this rar file (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=19163), unrar'ing it, and placing the enclosed .dll in your Pocket Player directory.
I personally really like pocket player, but you need to wait for v2.73 out soon apparently. If you go to conduits forum you can see alot of info on this issue.
I find it plays beautifully thru iTech Clip R35 (I admit I have a different device ie jamin).
But to your first point, I still have that problem as well, I have to manually switch on the bluetooth stereo option, I haven't found a solution for that yet.
cheers

Hi, I just bought the BT-620s and have exactly the same problem you have mentioned, otherwise a great BT headset.
Did you ever manage to find a fix for this problem?

Bluetooth for audio output?? Can't get to work!

Hi,
I've got a 3xx series Plantronics headset and i've got a question about using it for more than JUST calls.
Can I use it for watching movies?? at the moment, when the movie plays, it automatically goes to loudspeaker, even whilst paired.
I know of something called A2DP, but I'm not sure that my BT headset is that... Can I install something or change some setting to make the music/movie play through my present headset??
Thanks!!
A2dp is a stereo profile, should be active if you have a stereo headset and are listening to anything stereo on the phone. I've been having trouble getting A2DP to stay active on my phone as well, but I just read about a program called A2DP Toggle found Here seems to be working for me tho I'm not sure its what your looking for.
Well I don't own a stereo BT headset. Just a normal one-ear one.
I want to know if there is a way to port the movie/music sounds through it.
So I think its a bit different to your case. Anyone else?? Thanks
btw, I've used a simple bluetooth headset with my PC before and it ported all the sounds from the PC to my earpiece... so technically it should be the same case for phone? I hope there's a way...

Thanks jonasd,
It seems like its an old thread - any newer applications that are similar?
Does the toggle application for for your X1??

[Q] Broken A2DP bluetooth?

I think I broke my A2DP bluetooth...
Was using it fine with two different "model Ebay" stereo headests. Yesterday I could not get any music played and later tested with another one, same problem. Pairing and connecting goes ok and device shows that everything should be fine. But when playing music, I can hear some clicks and cracks. Sounds like decoding would be badly broken.
Strange thing is that I paired U8800 with my laptop that supports playing music from phone through A2DP and it worked fine! Also ruled out possibility that both headsets would be broken by testing with my wifes U8800, worked like a charm.
Any ideas? Is there anyway to "reset" bluetooth settings or some cache crap related to A2DP? Somehow I suspect that this problem relates to devices that I have already once paired with phone... Since new device (laptop) worked fine.
Have rebooted, dismounted battery, removed all bt pairings... I bet flashing in ROM would help, but not very tempting just because of this.
Have no idea why this happend, only changes to anything that could relate to A2DP was installing and uninstalling Doubletwist player.
Could you figure out the reason for your broken a2dp connection? I have the same issue with my car's stereo and my Galaxy SII. Worked fine until some days ago. Now everything _seems_ to be fine (avrcp is working, when I change volumen on the device I see 'bluetooth media' popup) but I don't hear anything.
Already tried the steps you described, too.

[Q] Bluetooth Headset Audio?

Hi All,
I have a 16GB TF .. and it's been very good so far. However, I'm having an issue that I think is probably simple .. but google & xda searches don't find anyone else with the same issue.
I want to use Skype over the tablet, but with a bluetooth headset. Using the TF with just the internal mic & speakers is pretty speakerphon-ish .. and I'd like to use a headset.
I have a couple of BT headsets (one of them 2.1 w/ EDR), and I can pair any / all of them to the TF. Problem is, the audio doesn't come through over the head set, and I don't know how to force it to.
The TF (now running 3.1) acknowledges that the headset is connected (to phone audio it says) .. but the only options in the configuration is to remove it.
What am I missing? I see reviews all over the place where folks are using the tablet to play movies in the car, and piping the audio out via BT? I think I must be missing a config step .. but can't find it.
Thanks for your help.
Im kind of in the same boat but I dont think honeycomb has a "phone audio" functionality. Only "media audio," which is what you would use when piping audio to external speakers.
its the same on the phone, those headsets only connect to mono phone audio so if I was playing a movie or music its silent. So for right now I think you are stuck until they figure out how to make specific apps recognize the phone audio device.
Makes some sense .. so it knows there's a "phone audio" aspect to things out there, but we don't have any way to force the Skype audio to be phone audio and not media.
So if I had a stereo headset, would the system work with it and pipe the audio out since it would recognize it as a media audio system?
Where does the mic fit in all of this?
I have a BT combination headset/headphones which I paired with the Transformer, and from testing it I can say the following:
1. The transformer paris with the device and recognizes both the "handsfree" and "media" profiles that the headphones support.
2. The "media" profile (also called A2DP, stereo bluetooth, etc) works fine. I have listened to music in stereo though them and all of the controls like play/pause and previous/next work properly. If you want to listen to movies, music, or whatever else you should be fine.
3. I can hear Skype through the headphones, but testing revealed that Skype is using the Transformer's build in microphone rather than the one in my headphoens. It also doesn't respond to the call button. Thus, it seems to be using the "media" profile to deliver sound.
So, even though the Transformer can clearly recognize handsfree profile, it either isn't passing it to apps or Skype isn't asking for it.
It looks like as long as you plan to be Skyping with the tablet infront of you, you can get almost the same functionality of a handsfree/headset by using a BT headphones instead. As long as you don't plan to leave the tablet in one room and talk in another you should be fine.
hey so i tried Super BT Mono Free Trial and it actually worked. thought it was Froyo only and reportedly broken with gingerbread.
using Samsung WEP450 paired "handsfree" profile, turned on Super BT Mono and to my surprise audio from music player routed to the BT headset. sound is crappy, and so far can't get audio from BeyondPod to the BT headset.
rooted 8.4.4.11 with netformer 1.5 OC 1.6 ghz and juwe11 ram profile.
...
try jabra... coz jabra headset supports a2dp i had the same issues until i bought a jabra

Bluetooth A2DP problem -- not playing through headset

Hi folks, I've been having this very frustrating problem with A2DP that I can't seem to find anywhere else on the forums.
My bluetooth headset (Nokia BH-905i) connects to my nexus 4 just fine, and I've been using it to listen to music since I get my nexus in january. But recently, every time I connect my headset, and I go to play any music or other sounds that play through the media channel, it comes out the speaker on the phone. In addition, when I use the volume slider I get the "speaker" icon instead of the "bluetooth" icon that I used to get.
My bluetooth headset has worked fine since the OTA update, it's just very recently (last week or two) that this issue has been happening.
The first time it happened, a simple reboot would fix it, now I can reboot and re-pair the headset all I want, it just won't work.
Has anyone else had this issue?
PS. I will also add that the next/previous track buttons still work, but the play/pause button DOES NOT! Very strange!!!
Am I seriously the only one with this problem?

What music player app are you using? That could be the problem right there. I sometimes have this problem with my JVC Arsenal head unit, but usually disabling and re-enabling bluetooth does the trick. Don't have to unpair or reboot, just toggle BT on and off.
Anyone know how to get the track info to transmit? It used to work with Apollo and Pandora, but it won't work with Spotify or anything else. In fact, it doesn't work at all on the N4
I use DSub, but I've tried google music, and also any other "media" sounds don't go through the headset as well ie: Youtube, games, etc.

have you checked the device profiles in the bluetooth menu? there is an option for phone audio, and an option for media audio, check them both
Yes I'm sure, I've also toggled them multiple times to try and get it working...
I also have this same problem. I'm using CM 10.1 nightlies
For some reason I able to pair my phone but not the audio.
In the Bluetooth settings though I only have the option for phone audio and not media audio. After checking on a couple of forums, it shows that my radio does support Bluetooth streaming through a2dp, but for some reason I cannot get it to work on my phone...
Edit:
It seems as though A2DP is broken in CM 10.1 as in stock android roms. I'm not 100% about this, but thats what it looks like.
Hi,
I do use AD2P audio a lot, and never had this issue (Sony MW1).
I m using exclusively AOSP or AOKP based roms (never use stock CM 10.1 because of how silly big is the navbar), but I can give it a shot during my next flashing session for testing
I don't have any problem pairing the audio. The checkbox goes and the headset actually beeps. It's connected, android just isn't sending the audio to the headset.
Me too

I've got the same issue.
I have tried with both jawbone and jabra headsets, no joy.
If I toggle bt on/off/on, connect the headset and then try playing music immediately I get ~1 second of audio over bluetooth before it goes silent.
I'm currently on PA 3.15 with moles kernel, but am going to try some other kernel/rom combos.
if anyone knows which logs i should be looking at i'm happy to upload them
Not quite the same problem, my music plays out of the phone speaker. Also I'm running stock rom.

If i wait more than 1 or 2 seconds after connecting my headset it comes out of the speaker also, as the bt media connection dies. I only get the little bit of audio if i hit play right after I connect the headset
I managed to find a very strange work around...
I installed this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5tYXhpc3Rhci5tb25vYmx1ZXRvb3RoZnJlZSJd
I turned on the app, and I could listen to music over mono mode (which sounds AWFUL). I then turned the app off, and when I changed the volume with the volume buttons I noticed the volume bar was displaying the bluetooth icon instead of the speaker icon.
My app was playing music, I didn't hear anything, but my headset was still outputting the characteristic 'hiss' of being in mono mode. So I went into the bluetooth settings and turned off mono mode, and now it is playing music through A2DP finally... We'll see if this problem occurs again and I'll see if the same process fixes it again. I'm just glad it's finally working again without resetting my phone.
I just wanted to update my post for anyone else who might have this problem in the future. I've performed this fix once before my last post and I haven't had to do it again, I've also uninstalled that app and everything is still working great.
It worked for me too!
Thanks to PickleHead and his workaround I'm listening again.
Thanks!!!
Media audio VS. Call Audio
Hi,
I have Samsung galaxy S3 with android 4.1.2 connected to my fordAudio BT device.
I am playing music using the original media player that came with the Android.
The BT connects quickly, but I can't hear the media I'm playing.
Recently I have discovered a "workaround":
When I disable the "call audio" (using the BT menu in settings) and leaves only the "media audio" checked, I am able to hear the media play.
If I re-enables the "call audio", the sound mutes immediately.
Does this helps to understand the issue?

I'm having exactly the problem described here, but this solution doesn't work for me. I have a Galaxy S4 and the bluetooth media audio sometimes works when I boot the phone up, but later it doesn't work. I tried this MonoBluetooth app and it doesn't seem to help. When I tell it to turn on the the mono signal, it says the media is disconnected even though the bluetooth module says it is connected to the AD2P device with media audio. On cases where it does connect, it seems to work, but in that case the bluetooth works with out this app fine.
I'm running 4.2.2 and see this on both the MDK and ME7 code base. I'm looking for a good soluton. I tried the Bluetooth Fix Repair on Google Play, but it can't seem to find my bluetooth configuration folders.

I have had exactly this problem for a couple of days with my S4 connected to my Jabra Freeway car speaker. Also in my case, disabling call audio makes the music pass through, but then I can't use the phone via the speaker which is sort of the whole purpose of the thing!
But I just found a simple workaround: I simply called my phone from another phone to check that phone audio passed through with both options enabled. It did. But it also cured the problem: After the call, media audio worked again - with both options checked.

I'd be interested to know if this fixes the problem for any length of time. Occasionally, and usually after a reboot, I can use the media audio, but then it fails when I try it again. Fiddling with the connections and apps sometimes makes it come back on, but usually only for a short while. While it is connected, it seems to stay connected.
