[Q] uk firmware for wildfire - Wildfire General

hi guys i live in the uk and i have a wildfire. I got my phone from the vodafone store and i want to debrand my phone and get it back to the manufactures settings as i found out that the things vodafone but on there can mess witht he phone its already been for repair once and ive had the handset replaced. i just want it back to how it was and not how vodafone have have put it please help

Go to theunlocker website and first search how-to-create-a-goldcard then visit shipped roms and download http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed and run, also recomend visiting unrevoked site first and getting root to enable taking a nandroid backup so if any thing stalls you can restore from good backup.

the memory card that i have in my pone now is a gold card and ive use unrevoke and dwnloaded the rru and it wont let me install it

Whats the current version of your phones software ? you might need to roll back to an earlier ruu and then progressively update through the software updates.

Cannot update firmware on stock Sprint Hero

Please help out my coworker has a stock Hero on sprint and we are unable to update the firmware. I was able to update mine, our demo and one other co-worker's phone but on hers, every time I actually go into the firmware update it states no updates available. Sadly we work for a sprint store and hers is the only one giving us an error. I've already gone to the point of wiping the device to restore to factory but with no avail. Aside from having her swap out the phone at our repair center, I wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem and was able to get passed it. I saw a couple of posts stating to use the RUU utility, but on a stock rom that we already "RTN'd" I don't know how that would help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've seen something similar. A coworker of mine just got a hero last week (after the MR release) and her phone shows the older software version but it will not recognize a firmware update is needed. I checked the phone's awake time and it was low, indicating the messaging app was not keeping the phone awake or draining the battery so I assumed it must not need the MR update even though it shows the old software version.
A couple others have metioned this... For some reason, some phones shipped with older firmware, version 1.22.651.1 instead of 1.29.651.1. Doing a hard reset on the 1.22 version wouldn't help, but updating the firmware to the 1.29 should. After that, check for the official MR.
You can find the file over here:
ftp://xda:[email protected]_Hero_C_Sprint_1.29.651.1_signed_release.exe

the guy at the sprint store (3rd party store) where i got mine from , his hero will not update or even flash back to the stock sprint ruu everytime it downloads the update and goes to apply it it shuts the phone down and thats it no reboot have to pull the batt to get it to power back on again
I had the same problem. I got my Hero on the first day it came out. Every time I tried to download the firmware update it would say no update available. Took it to the Sprint store and no luck either. They finally swapped out my original Hero for a new one and I was past my 30 days.

[Q] Unroot Orange Hero for fault repair?

Hey folks.
I've had a HTC Hero on Orange since launch. Recently got me an iPhone 4 so stopped using the Hero.
I went back to use it a couple of weeks ago and the screen seems to have stopped working correctly (there is another few threads about it) - It seems i'm going to have to send the phone back to be repaired..
Before I send it back, I'm going to have to un-root the device. I've had a look through these forums, the unlockr.com, android forums etc looking for how to's - Everyone seems to think its as easy as plugging the phone in and double clicking the RUU for Orange. Not for me it seems.
My SD card with my nandroid backups messed up just before I got my iPhone, so I don't have any nandroid backups available. All the RUU's I've downloaded give me an error about being unable to connect with the phone after restarting. I think its because I have a different recovery image installed.
Is there a one-click unroot/revert application available? Or can someone point me in the right direction of how to do it? I have googled, and searched, but so far I'm stumped..
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Newbie

Hi All
newbie to this phone and semi new to android. Mine is a i5801 which is locked to orange. I have rooted the device using z4root.
But is there a easy way to put custom roms on this phone ?
Also is there a free easy way to unlock the phone from orange ?
Thanks
to unlock the phone from orange
first download Odin and change ur firmware to anything other than orange(I5801BVJP9)
the instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880 (stock)
even if u use z4root the phone will not be rooted coz orange locks away access
the procedure is same as above to install new Roms
if u want custom roms then go for kyrillos jpf gingerbread v2.3 or lestatious v1.2
good luck!!
I have put a new firmware on there with 2.2 but its still locked
which one did u try
i once put orange from france on my phone &it got locked when i changed my firmware then it became unlocked
do u still have orange apps!!! if so then u did not change the firmware properly
try I5800XXJPA it is the basic firmware for froyo
Maybe there's a branding vs. locking confusion. If you flash e.g. an Orange Firmware, your phone gets branded, but not locked. It will still work with non-Orange SIMs (if it did so before). So no SIM lock, just branding. The phone will tell you it's from Orange, but not insist on using only Orange SIMs and nothing else.
Locking is a /efs thing, which, to my knowledge, has not been decoded yet. Also, /efs is not changed by flashing a new firmware. So, currently, there's no known way to unlock a locked G3 phone.
Except, of course, the official way: You got a phone at a reduced price. Part of the deal is that you now need to use SIMs from the company which had to deal with the difference. So it doesn't sound insane to me that you have to give them some money back to have them unlock your phone.
success , but it now say its rooted but its not
if u have superuser app then it's rooted that's it
goto menu and search for superuser app no need to open it if it is present then ur phone is rooted
superuser app does nothing on its own it gives permission to other apps like the allow/deny and administrator preferences in win7/vista
I have super user but setcpu says no your not rooted

Updating issue on Rogers Branded Arc

Hi guys, First of all HAPPY CANADA DAY!
I have a rogers branded Sony Ericsson phone with original firmware. But I have removed some bloatwares from Rogers and Golf game.
My phone have been noticing me about 2.3.3 firmware update. The phone itself also downloads, installs it. But after that process, the phone starts like normal and says "Couldn't update" message.
I tried resetting phone and tried many methods. Now the phone also doesn't display "Connect to Phone memory" in Notification area (it charges, but apparently doesn't connect to PC) :/
What's wrong?
You probably modified some of the system files in a way. Anything like removing bloatware with Titanium Backup will cause the update to fail. If you want to root your phone, you'll need to re-flash the Rogers 2.3.2 ROM back, root it with GingerBreak, and then perform the update to 2.3.3.
If you don't want to root, just use FlashTool to flash the Rogers 2.3.3 ROM.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Where can I find 2.3.2 Rogers ROM and how can I re-flash the platform? (the phone doesn't show connected to PC as well).
Do a search. There's a thread in the android development forum with the rogers 2.3.2 rom. I just flashed that one back yesterday to update to 2.3.3

[Q] Help :)

Hi, I Dont get massively involved in my phones but I bought a San Fransisco to try out Android, I was impressed even if I couldnt get it to work with a Dutch data sim while over there, I've now bought a Sensation and just recieved an Asus Transformer. But back to the Blade, I'm unable to Change the ROM. although it says the phone is rooted and I've superuser permissions but when I run titanium or rom manager it says device not rooted, I'm guessing the rooting is corrupt, thew phone still works as a phone but is there any way I can blank it and install a ROM, I dont need backups as I wont be going back ... only forward
