[Q] can i change spica csc ? - Galaxy Spica General

i have csc I570EEGYJE2 because i'm in egypt
and as far as i went wz my research the csc is what's preventing my spica from showing the android market :S
so i was wondering if anyone can help develop an app that can change csc or even disable it so we can have the market ?

Just use "Root Explorer" application, and go to
/system/csc/EGY/system/app/
and delete the empty file called "Vending.apk"
Now, dial *#272*YOUR IMEI#
and select EGY than press install.
Remember:
* You must root your phone to delete "Vending.apk" file.
* To get your IMEI dial *#06#
* After you press "install" will do a auto factory reset, you will lose all your data. Take backup before doing this.

unlock i5700?

Can I unlock it for free?
There is a method but it is not realy useable because you loose your imei.
1) Root your phone
2) Use a root explorer of your choice and go into the efs folder
3) Make a backup of your "nv_data" file by copying it to your sd card ("sdcar" folder)
4) Delete the "nv_data" file in you efs folder.
5) Reboot.
6) Now it is unlocked but your imei is 00000000...
PS: Your phone will still work without a problem even with a zero imei. You can always go back by copying the backup file into the efs folder but then the lock will be there again.
Tested with 2.1 os.

[REF] Manually change "sales code" (CSC selection) when multi-CSC won't allow you to

[REF] Manually change "sales code" (CSC selection) when multi-CSC won't allow you to
I've recently been getting annoyed with how, whenever I updated a firmware, on first boot the phone would still look for an invalid CSC code, which I had "removed" from the phone.
For example, none of the XEU CSCs currently available will allow you to change to / from XEU as those CSCs don't include other options. ... so if you've manually set your CSC to XEE using the *#272*IMEI# trick; there's no way to get back to XEU.
The solution is as follows: (yes, you need root)
1) Ensure the product code in your nvram.bin file is set how you want it, in this case XEU. (it's in the file twice, once on it's own and once at the end of the "I9100LKA" string. Both those should be at the end of line 215 of the file)
2) (and this is the new bit) - there's another file on the phone which stores the "Sales Code" - its the file that tells the phone what CSC to look for on first boot after flashing a firmware. This file doesn't change unless you can successfully use the *#272*IMEI# trick!
2a) Using a file browser that has root privileges, navigate to /efs/imei/ then look for the file "mps_code.dat"
2b) Open this file as a text document (making sure you're mounted R/W) and edit the string to whatever you want (in this case XEU). Note, you should only put in the 3 letter code, not the rest of the product code.
2c) Save the file and reboot the phone. Hey presto you're on a different CSC!
(and I *think* this trick works to change CSC (without actually installing one, obviously), without wiping the /data partition.
wow great work
ok maybe it's just me but I cannot locate the nvram.bin file anywhere????
I'm on ke7 cf rooted and using script manager to browse system, could u direct me pls as I am running around in circles here.
I found efs/imei and that is xeu but i'm stuck on abr somewhere and it's causing me a few probs.
what and where is this "nvram.bin" file ? thanks

My method on SGS1 was to use custom rom from rom kitchen open that and just change the required CSC folder and files with new folder and files zip back up and install .
Does not work yet on SGS 2 due to being unable to rezip and install custom roms .
Work around has just been to copy the relevant \CSC folder and two CSC files + SW conf file to phone deleting originals . Files have been ripped from original firmware nandroid backup .
Factory reset and all changed .
jje
Ok dokie...thanks for the explanation.

No, because there is no "nvram.bin" inside the latest (-> KE2, KE7, KF1) stock firmwares!
And changing only "mps_code.dat" won't do the trick as this will only create a new "nv_data.bin" after next reboot.
And if you would delete this new "nv_data.bin" (hoping that the files will be recreated/replaced at next reboot, this worked with SGS like this) you will end up with NO ProductCode and an fake IMEI too! So you should be VERY careful modding anything inside of /efs!
I edited the nv data.bin as well from KOR to BTU is this not a wise thing to do on GS3?

Solution to Change sales code
How to change CSC sales code on Samsung Galaxy S2?
1.Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad.
2.Select the CSC that you want.
3.Click Install.
4.Phone will be rebooted by itself.
5.That’s all.

[Q] Service Menu

I cannot access the service menu. I went to efs, then carrier, and changed from OFF to ON using all caps, but still get nothing when I press *#0011# on the dialer. I'm on MJE running cleanrom 1.5. Any ideas?

I just tried and works here. Am also on cr 1.5.
1. Did u reboot?
2. Did u go back and verify the edit to ON stuck?
♢NoteIII♢
I was having trouble too.
1.What are you using to edit the file? I recommend Root Explorer and edit it with text editor and save.
2.Once saved, close out editor and reopen file to make sure it saved it and "stuck"
3.Reboot you phone.
4.Open browser on your phone and go to forum page with the codes on it. Copy the Service Menu code to the clipboard.
5.Open dialer and press and hold in blank area to show option to paste from clipboard. If you did everything right Service Menu will popup right away.
i noticed for whatever reason on my Note on the MJE update if you direct dial the code it doesn't work for whatever reason. Copy and pasting the code is no problem.

Could this be a Verizon model issue?

Simple way to change the system language

Your phone needs to be rooted for app to work flawlessly
Might NOT work on 4.1.2 roms 90% of the time, so far only 4.3 showed results
This should work for almost any rooted device, no system restart is required and this is very simple
follow the steps and that's it
Install this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale
Then check if the language you want is in the main page and if yes select the language and country if it's present in the main screen
IF NOT
Then click "custom locale" (in the top right screen)
it will open a new screen
then select the language you want from the big list and then the country
No need to select varient, just leave it empty as that's fine
Now Click set and your phne system language should be set to the language you selected
the image shows the language i selected "SINHALA" Country "Sri Lanka",
the screenshot is from stock 4.3 INU Note 2 rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2536423
Or just add your "system language" in csc/ language.xml

but then again to switch between languages u have to copy and replace xml files again and again right?
this is easier than that i guess.

I figured this out ... Go to more networks ...do search for netwoks ...when it finds networks do a select automaticly .. Dont choose your network ..For some reason it selects gsm/umts if you select it yourself
Im rooted using a i9505 rom using an ATT branded GS4 unlocked using tmobile Sim LOL
hi iam nikhil
i have not seen persist.radio.lteon.xml file in rootbrowser in samsung s4 i9500what should i do
After you have rooted the device completely, go to Google Play and install 'ES file explorer'. Open the app, and press the menu key on the device and you will get a panel to your left on the screen. Scroll down and enable Rootexplorer (you will ask to grant permission by the SuperSU app since you have rooted, so give permission). Now use the search function and find the file with this EXACT name 'persist.radio.lteon' and delete it. Please make sure you are deleting this exact file. Don't delete anything else and end up bricking your device. After deleting restart the phone and that's it! You will have the LTE/WCDMA/GSM option in the network mode once you are booted and you will receive 4G signals if you are in an area with LTE coverage.

Get another device. The I9500 does not have LTE, and before you ask, you cannot enable it because the hardware is not present.
@chashmaa: Your advice works only if the device has a LTE radio. The I9500 nikhil has doesn't.
My post for busylittlebee(post 1).
@chashmaa: Why would you reply to a post that's nearly two years old? Besides, based upon the time stamps, it appeared you were replying to @nikhil.73.
Big sorry.
OK sir thank u
persist.radio.lteon.xml
