I hope you did save the file .. when you restart your Phone.. Anyways If you have a Custom recovery ie: Philz or TWRP try to download and flash this file Via recovery.. but if you dont have a custom recovery or the file doesnt work after flashing , I hope someone can help you with this issue mate .

I figured this out ... Go to more networks ...do search for netwoks ...when it finds networks do a select automaticly .. Dont choose your network ..For some reason it selects gsm/umts if you select it yourself
Im rooted using a i9505 rom using an ATT branded GS4 unlocked using tmobile Sim LOL

hi iam nikhil
i have not seen persist.radio.lteon.xml file in rootbrowser in samsung s4 i9500what should i do

After you have rooted the device completely, go to Google Play and install 'ES file explorer'. Open the app, and press the menu key on the device and you will get a panel to your left on the screen. Scroll down and enable Rootexplorer (you will ask to grant permission by the SuperSU app since you have rooted, so give permission). Now use the search function and find the file with this EXACT name 'persist.radio.lteon' and delete it. Please make sure you are deleting this exact file. Don't delete anything else and end up bricking your device. After deleting restart the phone and that's it! You will have the LTE/WCDMA/GSM option in the network mode once you are booted and you will receive 4G signals if you are in an area with LTE coverage.

Get another device. The I9500 does not have LTE, and before you ask, you cannot enable it because the hardware is not present.
@chashmaa: Your advice works only if the device has a LTE radio. The I9500 nikhil has doesn't.

My post for busylittlebee(post 1).

@chashmaa: Why would you reply to a post that's nearly two years old? Besides, based upon the time stamps, it appeared you were replying to @nikhil.73.

Big sorry.

OK sir thank u

Hey, thanks so far BUT..
i did everything, it showed me the Overwrite/Merge option and i did so, but when i restarted the phone, it still displayed the APN list not complete thingy. Is it possible that my country's setting aren't in the other conf.xml file and if so is there anyway i can insert them in.

Does this app need root access? I bought one of these (A760) for a friend of mine, but the phone is not able to create APN for lycamobile in UK (same problems mentioned in this thread).
Would installing he application from play market solve the problem? Or it will need root permission?
why when i open fx explorer root it says your device is not rooted? help me plz

problems with CWM
I've had quite a few problems before i managed to get it working:
1. flashed CWM from ADB, but every time I rebooted to recovery it was still the same (original)
2. So i had to install VROOT (http://www.mgyun.com/en/GetVRoot) to apply root and then renamed /system/recovery-from-boot.p to something else
3. Then i flashed CWM again and it worked.
4. I flashed AudiROMv1.zip from cwm.
Then my phone recognized MOBITEL (Slovenian) APN.

[Q] Trouble with screen auto rotate when rooted, or rooted ROM ?

Hello, I have just wasted about a day of my time on this issue.
Problem:
When I root my S4, running Kitkat, or load custom Kitkat ROM - wanamlite in my case, then the auto rotate screen feature stops working.
The problem is not in the HW - the camera app, which rotates labels on the screen based on orientation - kept working through all the trouble.
Details:
- I decided to root my S4, mainly to be able to install xposed/xprivacy and Titanium Backup
- first, I rooted the stock ROM, using the chainfire method. Worked fine
- I did not install custom recovery at this point
- removed few modules in TB
- noticed that the screen auto rotate stopped working
- restored the removed modules in TB, auto rotate still not working
- installed TWRP and Wanamlite. Screen rotation first worked, but after some time ( and my guess is after few reboots ), screen auto rotate failed again.
I was unable to fix this, so I had to go back to stock ROM ( Swiss FNB9 ), to get the phone working again.
Searching on Google, it seems that few of the Samsung devices have this problem of screen auto-rotation not working after rooting....
Before I try rooting again, is this a known problem ? Any fix with a high degree of reliability ?
Thanks for any info, Paul.

Wow, very much appreciated! This worked perfectly for my S4 with KitKat.
Today I noticed my auto screen rotation stopped. I googled around, tried many work-arounds, but none of them helped. A hard reset didn't work, a soft reset didn't work, Bluetooth/GPS/WiFi off didn't help, calibration using an app didn't work, etc.
I rooted my phone (as I had before, but because of the hard reset I had to root it again), installed Root Explorer, and put the libgnustl_shared.so file in the System/lib folder (while mounted R/W). I rebooted and BAM! Auto screen rotation was back again!

That fixed it indeed !! Thanks man ! I had problems pasting the file into that directory but the "root browser" app from the play store could paste it. Then changed permissions, rebooted and ... back is screen rotation !!! Thanks !! :good:

BTW, so it seems the problem is that when you uninstall samsung HUB (which I indeed did), it removes that particular file. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49604191

Hi, Besides hitting the THANKS button, I would like to give following information for other users:
I have PhilzTouch installed and tried to flash the zip file severel times, But everytime after wiping cache part. and dalvik I noticed that nothing changed.
So I did the copy/paste action as described and after rebooting it worked.
Hi All,
I had the same issue when i rooted my device, and lost the rotation and use the method described here to fix the issue.
But after reboot the phone it will keep popping the message " Unfortunately, Samsung Hub has stopped" and it won't go away or let me do anything on the phone, as soon as i hit the OK button it will popup again.
Any possible fix for that, Please !!!
Thank you all.

1) I downloaded the file
2) The instructions say to move the libgnustl_shared.so file into System>>Lib. When I download the file, libgnustl_shared.so is already in a folder called System>Lib...
3) Someone else said to FLASH via recover or something?? What does that mean? Can someone explain this in straightfoward terms? Thank you.
In that case, you should try to replace the existing file with the new one.
You just need to set up the parameters of the file (permissions into rw r r) as explained before. You can do it with ES Explorer for instance.
No need to do something else, just reboot.

Use a rootexplorer mate. And try again
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
changin permission parameters for getting screen rotation
OK, easy, my first question was and has been "how to change the permissions".
And alone, not being an Android Geek, I succeeded !!!
First use Root Explorer, with it copy and paste (or move) the " libgnustl_shared.so" file in the "\system\lib" directory.
Once it's done (always with Root Explorer) apply a finger on this new file, a menu appears and choose "Permissions". Then there, keep only Read on the three lines, and only Write on the first line. Then click on OK.
And reboot your system.
Amazing, it's working, like the first day and before you rooted it...
Thanks again for your solution.
thanks
works great on i9505 kitkat. don't forget to reboot
no permission
im getting this when i try to do it,
"changing permissions was not successful. please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes"
anyone know how to get around this??
cheers

[Q] Rotation not working + gyroscope calibration missing

Hi there,
i am having problems that i cant use the rotate of the s4 (currently with 4.2.2 dbt)
after a hardreset everything was fine. then i uninstalled some samsung apps which i do not want to have on my device with titanium.
since then the rotate is not working again.
does someone know which of this apps is mandatory in order for the rotation to work.
the suggestion to calibrate doesnt work for me either because this section is missing under my device settings (even after a hardreset).

but anyway.. i finally was able to copy the file manually after having some problems with es file explorer.
after setting the permission and rebooting i was able to use the autorotate function again. .
thank you a lot for helping me out and not letting me start by scratch again. and also not forcing me to install samsung software on my device.
now the only question left... why am i still missing the gyroscope option under the device settings..?!?! :-/
i have never seen this option on my device at all.

i want to copy settings menu from S6102_DDMF4_ODDMF4_DDMF4 to my native firmware S6102JPMA3_S6102OJPMA3_PAK which don't have 3G menu options (network mode).I have flashed both firmwares one by one, then copied setting.apk and settting provider.apk from S6102_DDMF4_ODDMF4_DDMF4 to S6102JPMA3_S6102OJPMA3_PAK at same place with same permission but settting s don't appeared and on data wipe i faced boot loops. Is there is any specific way to copy or some more files are needed. The reason why I dont wanna use S6102_DDMF4_ODDMF4_DDMF4 is that it sends sms to 919560345888 secretly and have cost me 45 buks so far. Plz someone guide me how to import 3g menu (picture is added) feature from infected firmware to my native firmware .. Please guys reply I am loosing my balance because of one feature Thanks in advance :crying:
I Can Understand Your Problem Buddy
Yes I Also Wished To Have 3G Menu In My Settings.apk
If You are trying it in your odex Rom then follow those steps ...But first take backup by any means
Use Titanium backup
Extract Settings.apk From any deodexed Rom which have 3G menu..and extract Settings.zip Which I provided below
Put Extracted Settings.apk to
system/app/***
Zip The Folder And Flash It..
hope so it works ..
BACKUP
Make backup with titanium backup
or
copy Settings.apk & Settings.odex files from system/app From your current Rom ...copy it to the extracted folder of settings.zip Which i provided below.. to system/app/***
zip it and Flash

To my badluck it did not worked instead setting disappeared. I restored my cell from nandroid backup. I also tried to play trick using titanium back up. Installed rom with network mode option make a back up of settings and then flashed second rom Uninstalled settings from there , rebooted , and then restored the settings of first rom ,, Astonishing is that the settings returned but no network mode. I than mix flashed PDA+Modem from MA3 firmware and added CSC from DDMF4 Firmware (Which has network mode option). The child rom retained the network mode chracteristics. I learnt from all this that settings.apk have nothing to do with network mode but something , a piece of code that is in CSC part of firmware actually commands for Network mode and That CSC also have code that sends sms Secretely to 919560345888 and cost me bucks. So no gain yet still looking forward
