Question about NBHExtract

How to extract Windows.nb from nba (not nbh) files of Dopod Lite and Dopod PowerMap?
NBHExtract doesn't work with nba-files.
i think nb=nba, i'm not sure, but i guess
Use imgfstools to extract OS.nb, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298327
pof, i guess he was asking for extraction windows.nb from xyz.nba. but nba and nb are the same or not? He wasnt asking how 2 extract files from rom.
Oh yes, i read too fast sorry.
NBA is decoded NBF, which generally is the same as a .nb, so it's already extracted.
If he means how to extract from NBF then it depends on which NBF version, see the itsme tools alpinenbfdecode, typhoonnbfdecode, etc...
for artemis works dutty's nbh tool (if i remember correctly you cotributed to it)

Dumping or coverting nk.nbH

Hi all, I'm dilagently working on a wm6 rom for the htc startrek flip phone.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to dump a nk.nbh and re-copile it?
Also is it possible to take an os.nb and convert it to nk.nbh for uploading?
Any help would be great if you're interested in assisting see these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330694
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311776
Thanks!!!
decode the nbh file with NBHextract
then dump the OS nb file with mamaich's tools
and for building the nbh back.. don't know any tool for htc startrk.. (and I doubt that the nb2nbf_tornado works also with this. this generates a nbk not a nbf image)

Compression Method of iPAQ HW69XX OS ROM

Hi All,
I have managed to split XIP.bin and imgfs.bin from the OS ROM of HW6915 G4-v.121UK, but failed to dump the imgfs due to unable to load compression dll, any one know the compression method or how to analyze the compression method of imgfs.bin?
If we have the way to dump and undump imgfs, then we can customize the rom of hw69xx.
I will uplaod tools, XIP.bin and imgfs.bin if anyone would like to give a shot.
you probably missing cecompr_nt.dll

I do have the cecompr_nt.dll file in the rom tool folder, maybe the hw69XX rom has a special compression method so current version of cecompr_nt.dll can't not recognize.
not likely as ther are only XPR/LZX compression for imgfs, may be the rom is encrypted..no idea sorry
Here's a tool to dump hw6900 series ROMs.
Just drag-n-drop CEOS.nbf in DUMP_hw6900_IMGFS.bat
You will get OEM and SYS folders.
PS. hw6900 series problem is that you can't get a working xip.bin from NBF file. As you said you got a xip.bin, but did you tried to dump it? Most likely you will get an error.

To dump a .BIN ROM you need:
- OSNBTool
- XIDUMP
Run "OSNBTool -sp" on the .bin file once and you'll obtain a NB0, run it again and you'll obtain a NB. Run XiDump -B on the NB file and you will obtain the xip and imgfs dump .
Thank you very much
Perfcect answer, thread solved but opened if requires to ask more
Error while dumping the .bin ROM image using osKitchen Zero
i am getting an error while dumping the .bin ROM image using
osKitchen Zero v1.30.
osKitchen Zero uses OSNBTool; XIDUMP to dump a .BIN ROM.
The error description is attached as image.
Also the log file of the process.
It successfully extracts the original .bin ROM to folder

Rom.bin.BIN.NB0.OS.NB
Rom.bin.Footer
OS Sections\
imgfs.bin
uldr.bin
xip.bin
OS Sections Dump\

While extracting the IMGFS.BIN it ends giving the error.
i am using the following ROM. Both the ROMs in the following post ends to the same error, couldn't complete the import process.

OK Thank you very much for your reply, you are right gsmart-i is equal to gsmart-i64, so you can go ahead with it.
I already did that, but to download a ROM file I must to sign-up and IMEI is required, so I can't download ROM.
Can you upload it somewhere, like 4shared.com or Megaupload.com?

Received your PM, downloding file now.
So step by step:
Take shippend ROM and prepare it for kitchen:
Code:
osnbtool -sp ROM.nb0
you will get two files ROM.nb0.PRE and ROM.nb0.OS.NB
ROM.nb0.OS.NB is OS.nb file you need to use on your kitchen.
After you have done ROM building with kitchen you should get OS.nb file.
Now use osnbtool to insert extra data:
Code:
osnbtool -extra OS.nb
You will get file OS.nb.EXA and now you need to make ROM.nb0 file:
Code:
copy /B ROM.nb0.PRE+OS.nb.EXA NEW_ROM.nb0
I hope this works
Thank you very much for your complete info, These days I'm on vacation.
As soon as possible I'll check the process, but I should say that the very first step for me is to convert back generated OS.nb by osnbtool to newrom.nb0 and check the file with original ROM. however I will let u know my progress and thank u again for your time and help.

Thank u for your detail described process. I followed instruction and generated NEW_ROM.nb0 with generated OS.NB from the first step, but the volume of NEW_ROM.nb0 is different from original ROM.nb0, would u please tell me this is normal or I did something wrong or the generated NEW_ROM.nb0 is usable.
