Dumping or coverting nk.nbH - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi all, I'm dilagently working on a wm6 rom for the htc startrek flip phone.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to dump a nk.nbh and re-copile it?
Also is it possible to take an os.nb and convert it to nk.nbh for uploading?
Any help would be great if you're interested in assisting see these threads:

Thanks!!!

decode the nbh file with NBHextract
then dump the OS nb file with mamaich's tools
and for building the nbh back.. don't know any tool for htc startrk.. (and I doubt that the nb2nbf_tornado works also with this. this generates a nbk not a nbf image)

nbh format used in Hermes (TyTN) roms to nk.nbf, possible?

Hello,
The available original shipped ROMs for the HTC Hermes have .nbh files with the RUU, instead of the usual .nbf files found in other HTC rom updates:
By now, there are two shipped ROMs available, containing:
HERMIMG_Dopod_1.23.707.1_SHIP.nbh
hermimg_QtekNOR_1.18.255.3_Ship.nbh
So, it seems that the usual nk.nbf file is no longer used by the Hermes RUU
I cannot extract the various rom components (ExtROM, OS, IPL/SPL, SplashScreen, GSM radio, etc...) out of these files using the usual TyphoonNbfTool, however maimach's prepare_imgfs finds the imgfs and dumps it apparently ok, but it cannot be read using viewimgfs or itsme's rdmsflsh.pl, so I guess the dumped file is invalid.
Anybody knows about this new format?
is it possible to convert it to nk.nbf so we can cook our own roms?
Would it be possible for example to extract the radio rom from Dopod and replace it on QtekNOR rom?

EDIT: I posted the same on TyTN Upgrading forum and there's some more info... ignore this post and continue the thread here:

To view & extract .nb0 content, please help......

hi all, i have a .nb0 file which extracted from a wm5 ppc phone ( cant remember the model), and i need some help here to view this nb0 and extract some cab file from there.
This .nb0 consist a lot useful softwares, for example, soundcover (background sound during conversation), answering machine, conversation recorder and it works flawlessly on wm5 ppc phone.
Any expert??? please help.
**ok, I found the phone model, its GIGA, this is the nb0 file, latest update from thier website http://www.higiga.com/HigigaFrontStage/event/download/update/V1.12.80.zip
Hi,
Congratulations on extracting an .nb0 file. There are many methods to do so, depending on the device. Out of curiosity, which method did you use? Assuming that you correctly extracted the .nbo file of the CE image, you can treat it the same as an .nb or .bin file. use "viewimgfs *.nb0". the * of course meaning the name of your nb0 file like MSFLSH50_2.nb0, or what ever. This will give you all the files and what not. You can then use the DSMtool by bepe. This will organize all the files into packages. Then you can use cabwiz or some other program to create a cab installer. Good posts to follow are mamiach, bepe, buzzlightyear, and others, if you didn't already know. The dsmtool is found in bepe's WM5 kitchen. the viewimgfs and other imgfs tools were created by mamiach.

Jason
thanks for your reply, i will try to use the tools to see whether i can extract anything out of it...thanks again.

Compression Method of iPAQ HW69XX OS ROM

Hi All,
I have managed to split XIP.bin and imgfs.bin from the OS ROM of HW6915 G4-v.121UK, but failed to dump the imgfs due to unable to load compression dll, any one know the compression method or how to analyze the compression method of imgfs.bin?
If we have the way to dump and undump imgfs, then we can customize the rom of hw69xx.
I will uplaod tools, XIP.bin and imgfs.bin if anyone would like to give a shot.
you probably missing cecompr_nt.dll

I do have the cecompr_nt.dll file in the rom tool folder, maybe the hw69XX rom has a special compression method so current version of cecompr_nt.dll can't not recognize.
not likely as ther are only XPR/LZX compression for imgfs, may be the rom is encrypted..no idea sorry
Here's a tool to dump hw6900 series ROMs.
Just drag-n-drop CEOS.nbf in DUMP_hw6900_IMGFS.bat
You will get OEM and SYS folders.
PS. hw6900 series problem is that you can't get a working xip.bin from NBF file. As you said you got a xip.bin, but did you tried to dump it? Most likely you will get an error.
