BOGA? Can it be shared. - Fascinate General

I saw a post today that said that the Fascinate will have BOGA.
Buy one get another free.
My question, can we team up to do this and split the cost to $99 or do the phones have to be on one account ?

phones have to be in one account. Two phones will be in a family plan.

^ Incorrect, BOGO's or BOGA's can be fulfilled on different accounts as long as the same name is on both accounts, so you must own both accounts. Not an authorization either, needs to be the main account holder.

T-Mobile giving away free phones (HTC HD2) this Saturday

Apparantly T-Mobile will give you free phones if you sign up for a family plan (2-lines or more).

It's a blog on from the wall Street Journal. I had to put "." in the http becaue I'm still new on this site. Otherwise just Google "T-mobile HTC HD2" and you'll find the link.

Its just the wall street journal. Just do a google search for it on google news or at the above link. It's the real deal. I was told it was for anybody who opened up a new family plan or added a line onto an existing family plan. Free phones for all of the new lines. Regardless of what phone. No rebate i think. Straight free.

Well the "." in between the http was a red flag. Just because its the wall street journal doesn't mean someone couldn't set up a fake site. All they do is set up a very similar url and when you go to their site it usually has a virus or a trojan. Maybe its just being overly safe but I never click on a link that is weird looking.

Great just when i bought this phone a few months ago . Might as well just get one for free and sell it.
I was reading the fine print on the offer earlier today, and it states, "mail-in rebate may apply"...but no other clarification than that
will this work on Even More Plus accounts?
It works for family plans. Is your Even More Plus account part of a family plan?

I'm wondering the same, and yes I have a family account currently on EM+, but of course we're normally not eligible for promos like this...but if I find out we are, you know where I'll be this weekend

That's what I'm saying
I already have 4 out of the available 5 lines on my account... which is obviously a family plan of sorts. Thankfully, I'm on the "unlimited everything" plan.
I'm just going to pay to add another line, and most likely snag either the MyTouch 3G Slide, or another HD2 just to sell on Craigslist.

Okay. Nevermind all that. You are not eligible for the free phone. Don't even bother to go down to the T-Mobile stores. You will just be disappointed.

I must. I'm missing the part in either of those articles posted above where EM+ family plans are specifically excluded from this promo as they have been from others in the past. I expected that they would be, but nothing in those articles (or others I've read) state that specifically.
*The offer is valid at T-Mobile owned and operated locations only. New activation on qualifying family plan with two-year agreement required. Limit five lines per family plan. Mail-in rebate and restrictions may apply. Store hours may vary. See store for details.

i'm planing to sign up for a new family plan and get 2 hd2 for free this saturday, so does anybody know if the return period with a family plan is still 14 days and i will have to pay only 400 $ in order to cancel my both lines, or there is an extra fee for cancelling lines of a family plan???

[Q] Sprint bill to account

I was wondering if i were to bill this phone to my account would i have to pay it in full the next month or could i go maybe three months paying it off in installments

You can set it up to pay in installments but it depends if you're even eligible to get a phone billed to your account. Some accounts are not eligible at all (depends on credit) and some with a spending limit must be with Sprint for 18 months without outstanding payments to become eligible. While customers with good credit or long standing Sprint customers have no problems at all.
Most areas will NOT allow you to bill this or the EVO to your account because the phone is in such high demand, and people just aren't paying for it and going into collections. Sad but true.
I have had three phones billed to my account but I always paid in full the following month since I'm not due for a upgrade and the phones $500 I would rather pay installments than that big chunk of money thanks for the help

No store can decline billing a phone to an account, so if you were told no, you need to report that store/manager.
Actually, you're incorrect there. The ability to bill to an account is based on the credit code that is assigned to the account at the time of creating it. This credit code is based on previous credit history. If you have a spending limit at all, you won't be eligible for it. If your credit improves and you have good payment history on your account, you may be able to have the finance department see if they can adjust your credit code, though they may have changed that.

You're also wrong. It's based off your credit score when you first open an acct. After 18 month of service and 12 month of no late payments it can be removed. Manual credit (not finance) CAN remove it under very special circumstances if you do not meet the 18/12 rule. Some spending limit accounts DO allow billing to account, though extremely rare and believe it or not there are a ton of non-spending limit accounts that do not allow billing to account. All accounts under 90 days are considered no billable as well.
I was referring to a store declining billing to account because of the phones "high demand" just like the customer who called me a few days ago saying he was declined because the phone is in such high demand that they will only sell to local area codes. Completely false and illegal to be honest.
Actually it occurs to me that you probably meant that a store couldnt deny bill to account just because of the modelof phone. Sorry about that. You're right there

Yeah I get them done all the time, generally the basic rule is, you can have a few late payments, maybe 5 or 6 but no hotlines/suspensions and they will remove the ASL from the account... of course a lot more goes into it, payments vs adjustments, acct tenure, number of lines, etc.
Also, it will be fully charged to your account if your account can be billed. I've yet to see an account that is partially charged for multiple months to make the total price up. The best way to do this to give yourself the most time to pay it off is the day of or the day after your billing cycle starts (mines the 13th, so 13th or 14th for me) so you have a full month, plus the time to process the bill, plus the time until its due, plus the automatic 10 day grace period after the due date that you get without any late payment penalties, which will add up to almost 2 full months.
I did a bta with one of my previous phones and had bta a bunch of accessories too. About a week or two after the bill was past due, the finance dept called and started leaning on me hard. I told them that I was going through some financial tough times with the car being repaired recently and trying to get the cell bill up to date. They didn't care. That pissed me off royally.
I tore into the girl on the phone and told her to look up in her records for how long I've been a sprint customer. I've been with them for over thirteen years and you are treating me like a deadbeat scumbag? They said we need xxx amount paid in like two or three days or it will go to the collections department. I was irate!
I told her I would pay what I can, when I can and it's impossible for me to pay that amount in that short of time. She asked if I could borrow the money from someone. At this point, she was just throwing more gas on the fire with me.
I told her that she could do whatever she wants, that I don't care anymore. If you want to turn this into collections, go right ahead because you WILL lose me as a customer! I told her if she wanted to turn my phone off right then, to go ahead and save the trouble of doing it in a few days.
Does that answer your question about if they will "finance" or let you make payments?
If they let you bill to account, ask yourself if you know for a fact that you can pay your monthly bill plus the cost of the phone in thirty days or less (no sweat), then go for it. If not, save up for it and buy it when you have the money in hand.

Yes... because it was her fault that you're going through financial issues and car issues but you decided to buy a new phone... smart one on your part eh? I'll tell you the same thing I tell everybody, this is a "FOR PROFIT" business, pay your bill you get service, you don't pay your bill, your service get's shut off, it's as simple as that. They did allow you to do a payment arrangement, however you just did not agree with the terms. Next time you're having financial issues, spend $50 on a ****ty phone instead of $200 on a device you can't afford. (Don't take this personally)

I have to say my experience was different, I put a Moment on my account about a year ago and asked if it was ok if I paid half this month and half the next they had no problems as long as my call bill was kept up to date they could put a note on the account. Paid my phone bill in full + half the Moment then next month paid the bill again with the second half and never had an issue. Then again I never went delinquent with the primary contract that might be the difference maybe.

Is that a hard limit? Even if I qualified for 5 lines with no deposit and no spending limit and my account is in good standing?
Not sure about the 18 month thing. I have only been with Sprint since last November, and have been billing to my account since day 91. Pre, hero, and the evo. No problems. I'm also eligible for up to 10 lines, so don't know what kind of credit code I have.

Yes, all accounts within their first 90 days can not have anything billed.
So, just to clarify - if I'm a new customer, switching to Sprint for the Epic, I wouldn't be able to bill it to my account, correct?
Yepthat would be correct

Attaching a card during registration was optional, and they won't automatically charge you anyways:
What happens at the end of my free 1-year membership?
You are receiving a full 1-year membership to ShopRunner. You have the option to provide your payment information that would be used to renew your membership at a rate of $79 annually. Even if you provide your payment information, your account will not be billed unless you actively go into your Account Settings page on ShopRunner.com and change your status to auto-renew your membership. As a reminder, your free 1 year membership has no obligation and does not require a credit card. The 1-year membership is absolutely free.

On a side note, you can get an extra 3 months for free by activating ShopRunner Central. To do that, after you sign-up, go to Track All Shipments/Orders, and sign up for ShopRunner Central to get a 3 month extension. Keep in mind that this grants access to your Gmail account for them to download receipts and orders from all of your online orders, not just ShopRunner orders. So open a second tab and have the page ready to cancel the Central thing. Make sure to revoke access to your Google account as soon as you see the credited time on your account. It should be immediate.
To add/cancel ShopRunner Central: http://www.shoprunner.com/members/ShopCentral.php
To revoke access: https://www.google.com/settings/security
I'm set up until 19 March 2014 now. Note that they run these promotions at least once a year. I've had ShopRunner nearly since the day they came out, and I've never once paid a penny to them for membership. This will be my third or forth year now. It's worth it for free Dominos pizza delivery alone. lol
EDIT: I just logged in to my account to check up on things, and I noticed that they seem to have made 2013 a free year for everyone. My account does not expire until 19 March 2015 now. Yay, I suppose.
How do you add the promo code if you already have an account with them? Or do you have to set up a new account with a new email?

If you currently have an account, there's a clever way to get in on the deal. Cancel your membership, then sign up again with this deal using the e-mail address of your now cancelled account. It will retain all of your shipping history and account info and extend your membership a year from the date you re-sign up. You'll gain at least 15 months, if you combine it with my suggestion above. There's a possibility that you'll get an extra year for free if you're quick about it. It seems like they're giving away a free year for 2013 for current members. That could give you a total of 27 months for free.
Signed up, purchased a mSD card for my vacation. Received two day shipping. Thanks!

Paypal Chargeback on a Swapp.com sale

So I sold a Galaxy S5 on swappa.com two months ago for $585.
I shipped the S5 via USPS Priority (with tracking number) to an address in Florida.
Low and behold, two months later, completely out of the blue, Paypal just subtracted $585 from my Paypal account, so now it's in the negative.
Seems the buyer initiated a "Unauthorized Payment Chargeback".
I've submitted my tracking # and Swappa.com sale ID to Paypal and they are "reviewing the claim". But some quick Googling says I'm probably about to lose $585 when Paypal deducts it from my checking account.
I called my Credit Union and they need form after form after form and a $30 fee to block PayPal and the form can't be submitted until AFTER Paypal takes the funds from my checking account. And then there is no guarantee it'll work?!?
And the Paypal website won't let me remove my checking account from my Paypal account. So if they decide against me, which it sounds like they might, then I'll be screwed.
Just a warning to you guys.
I wanted a quick sale and did not research the buyer before shipping the item. That was my bad.
I don't get it. Why was the charge reversed? Maybe it was a hi-jacked account that was used. That happened to me years ago. The money just magically vanished right out of my bank account. Nobody could tell me how or why. Had to figure it out for myself. Unreal.

Yeah, I guess.
What I don't get is why do WE get dinged for this.
It wasn't US who mishandled the buyers charge account.
So wtf. Paypal or Credit Card companies are the ones who should eat the charge.

Yeah I know. The sellers always get screwed.
I'm afraid you're going to have to just use this as a $585 lesson on why you should NEVER use Paypal for anything. I don't have a checking account OR a credit card linked to my PP account.
Edit: I thought Swappa was a broker, of sorts. Don't they get hold the funds till the buyer receives the phone?
Edit2: Call AT&T and Tmo and report the MEID as stolen?
Honestly, i think paypal will rule in your favor. From personal experience of this happening to me on ebay; generally providing paypal with the proof of shipment is enough. Granted, it takes a couple weeks for them to get their stuff together, but just wanted to let you know.
Good luck

in my experience if your tracking number show the item was delivered for the address that confirmed on paypal for the buyer at least ( city, state and zipcode ) match then even chargeback will be end up in your favor . but if the address was unconfirmed on paypal then ya they could decided it against you .
Forgot about this thread!

yeah, all .edu email accounts work. My code came in very quickly. And indeed, that $50 will be used to buy the storage shall we get the case as well..hmmm
Just be aware that if you already requested a coupon for the last edition that has expired they will not send you a new one.
In my case the available promo was not compatible with the edu coupon, so it never got used. No matter, no new coupon for you.
Maybe calling would help, maybe not, but it's one per address, even if that one was 6 months ago.
