Safe mode - Vibrant General

I was listening to Pandora, and all of a sudden I got no service in the middle of a street, well looked at the screen, and in the left lower corner it displayed
"Safe mode"
Screen will not respond, couldn't unlock it, I held the power button for a few seconds and it went blank and back again to safe mode.
I had to hold the power button for 20-30 seconds and then he phone rebooted and back to normal it went.
Has anyone experienced that before?
Stock firmware and rooted, no lag fixes at the moment.

[Q] Trouble turning on - need help desperately :)

Hi guys. So this is my situation; my phone is currently turned off.
If I hold the power button, the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo appears in with the black background, then disappears and the phone turns off after 1~2 seconds.
If I hold the power, volume down button then I get the custom OS screen. If I then choose to restart from this screen, the phone restarts and the Galaxy Logo shows for around 6-8 seconds then disappears again.
If I go to the custom OS screen again, then press restart, I can then hold the volume up button and the lock button and the blue message saying 'Recovery Booting..' along with the same black Galaxy logo then the screen disappears after 1-2 seconds seemingly turning off, then it vibrates once after a couple more seconds then does nothing again
I can not get the recovery booting screen from simply holding Volume up and the power button, I need to do it after restarting through the custom OS screen.
My phone is also suddenly not recognising the charger being plugged in. There is no observed difference between attempts to turn it on with/without the charger plugged in.
The last time the phone was properly turned on, it switched itself off at around 4-6% battery left and from then on I have this result.
So, can you guys help?
Your power button is probably faulty. Try to wiggle it lose or replace it.

Power/Volume Buttons Suddenly Went Crazy

I've had my phone less than 2 weeks. Woke up this morning, woke up phone to check email and browse facebook. Clicked a video to watch. Tried to turn the volume up. Hit volume rock up once and volume goes all the way up like I was holding it down. Same for volume down. Ok weird. Went to restart phone and held power button. Nothing happened. Apparently power button has stopped working. Waited a while and kept playing on phone. Power button starts working again. Restarted phone. It came on with the volume adjustment at the top and wouldn't go away. Power button unresponsive again. Thoughts? After googling, I feel like i'm the only person this has ever happened to...

Stuck at logo screen

I've had this phone for about a year now, and it suddenly froze while I was watching a video on youtube, nothing was responding, home button, volume rocker, power button, nothing. I thought nothing much of it, so I took out the battery and attempted to restart the phone, but it's just stuck at the bootup screen. It doesn't even allow me to enter Recovery mode.
Any help?

my screen turns off when disconected from the charger

i left my phone charging with a game playing, and when i came back the message saying the phone was going to turn down to stop the heat was showing in screen.
now when i turn on the screen it takes 1 second to turns off by itself and start overheating below the samsung logo(in the front, below the earpiece).
i can fix it or have to replace something?
Could try booting in safe mode. That should rule out any hardware issues.
Instructions from Google:
Turn the device off.Press and hold the Power key past the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge screen.
When "SAMSUNG" appears on the screen, release the Power key.
Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Leave in this mode for a while. Maybe uninstall the game while your in safe mode.
I had a similar issue I solved this way.

Anyone else have a misbehaving power button?

A power button that misbehaves. Half the time when I go to turn the screen off via the power button, it goes off and then instantly comes back on (at the lockscreen).
Doing a little investigating, I have messed with it... right after the screen popped back on again, a few times I had unlocked the screen and then shut it off several times in a row just to see.. and it would shut off and stay off like it's supposed to. It seems to do this only when I'm least expecting it (go figure), but is at least once a day now.

Yes, I've seen something close to this on my wife's phone. I always trumped it up to a slight hardware issue with the used phone we purchased online.
likely system just needs a better repeat delay setting.
when i press the power button to shut off the screen, sometimes it'll register as double-tap jump to camera instead.
