[Q] Trouble turning on - need help desperately :) - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. So this is my situation; my phone is currently turned off.
If I hold the power button, the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo appears in with the black background, then disappears and the phone turns off after 1~2 seconds.
If I hold the power, volume down button then I get the custom OS screen. If I then choose to restart from this screen, the phone restarts and the Galaxy Logo shows for around 6-8 seconds then disappears again.
If I go to the custom OS screen again, then press restart, I can then hold the volume up button and the lock button and the blue message saying 'Recovery Booting..' along with the same black Galaxy logo then the screen disappears after 1-2 seconds seemingly turning off, then it vibrates once after a couple more seconds then does nothing again
I can not get the recovery booting screen from simply holding Volume up and the power button, I need to do it after restarting through the custom OS screen.
My phone is also suddenly not recognising the charger being plugged in. There is no observed difference between attempts to turn it on with/without the charger plugged in.
The last time the phone was properly turned on, it switched itself off at around 4-6% battery left and from then on I have this result.
So, can you guys help?

Your power button is probably faulty. Try to wiggle it lose or replace it.

Won't charge

I did a search and nothing was answered other than to try the whole "power off device via bootloader and BAM problem solved"...which doesn't work for me. I also have some issues not discussed. It seemed easier to just start a new thread.
So my wife let my N7 completely die. So she goes to charge it and it won't charge. She tries another cable and those don't work either. So here is what happens, and what I've tried so far. Also, I am rooted running CM10.1 I believe.
1- push the power button:
Up in the top left corner i get the text "show low low battery icon!" device turns off after about 3 seconds.
2- plug in charger:
When I do this, the little battery charging this comes on and the battery fills 3 times then the screen goes off (about 10 seconds)
3- hold power button for 30 seconds
if the charger is plugged in-> it brings up the battery w/lighting bolt, then says Google, then shows Cyanogen mod boot animation, then loads up my home screen, then instantly powers off because of no battery (0%). then starts all over and will repeat indefinitely (given that i continue to hold the power button down.)
charger not plugged in-> shows battery icon, says Google, then CM10 boot animation, then loads home-screen, then powers off, repeat indefinitely
4-if i take out charger after putting charger in:
it will still show the battery charging sequence for the ~10 seconds even though no charger is in
5- with charger in, pressing power and volume down:
takes me to boot-loader with the android laying on its back with its torso open. it says information in bottom left corner. it says start up in the top right by the power button, then has an up/down arrow by corresponding volume keys. Pressing volume keys does nothing. pressing power does nothing. I can hold the power button and it will restart, says Google, play CM boot animation, load home screen then power off.
6-without charger, pressing power and volume down:
see object 5
7- press power while charger connected.
Tablet loads with the whole Google->boot animation-> home-screen. while on the home screen, device starts powering off (0%) battery. while this is happening I can press the power button again to bring up the power menu. I can power off or restart:
a) power off: turns off device. nothing changes
b) restart-> boot-loader: restarts into boot-loader. see item 5
c) restart->recovery: tablet restarts, but then just goes to a black screen and then turns off. (sometimes it will also do a "normal" restart and load back to home-screen and what not)
d) restart->restart: restarts tablet normally back to where it will turn off immediately.
It does all of these things consistently. I am not sure what exactly I should do to try and fix this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Screen blank, blinking blue led, can't force reboot - and never been flashed!

My wife woke up this morning to an unresponsive phone. It's been on the charger all night.
The screen is off, and the led blinks blue about every five seconds.
power+volume keys has no effect - neither power + vol down nor the standard recovery- or download mode combinations, even holding down for half a minute or more.
The phone hasn't even been flashed - it's still on the original ROM.
Never seen this on any Galaxy device before, I'm completely clueless.
Have you seen this before? Any ideas on how to force it to power down?
Thanks!
force restart is power button and volume down for 10 sec if that's not helping you have a broken phone.
Thanks. As I wrote, force reboot didn't work.
But it seems I was wrong - it did work, but I had to hold the vol down and power buttons pressed for over a minute!
So problem solved, for now.

S4 keeps turning off after a few seconds

hey!
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4. Since today I cant boot the phone up anymore!!!
while watching youtube videos it sudddenly was dead, I didn`t even drop it. turning on again with the power button doesnt work, advanced boot with power button + other button doesnt work as well. only if I reinsert the battery the phone vibrates and it turns on for about 2-3 seconds, the samsun bootloader logo appears and its dead again. I have already replaced the battery with a working one, doesnt work. I removed the sd and simcard but that did not help.
Sounds a lot like a power button problem.
The exact problem is that the button is stuck or shorted, which causes the circuit to be constantly closed. In other words, it's always "pressed".

my screen turns off when disconected from the charger

i left my phone charging with a game playing, and when i came back the message saying the phone was going to turn down to stop the heat was showing in screen.
now when i turn on the screen it takes 1 second to turns off by itself and start overheating below the samsung logo(in the front, below the earpiece).
i can fix it or have to replace something?
Could try booting in safe mode. That should rule out any hardware issues.
Instructions from Google:
Turn the device off.Press and hold the Power key past the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge screen.
When "SAMSUNG" appears on the screen, release the Power key.
Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Leave in this mode for a while. Maybe uninstall the game while your in safe mode.
I had a similar issue I solved this way.

ASUS_X00TDB While using suddenly screen goes blank and just blinks nonstop

Please help I was using my phone when the screen suddenly goes off but the phone is on, the screen is blinking (lights up and off) continuously but it stays blank. I can open and close the screen by clicking the power button as you would normally do if you're checking the time on your phone. I tried pressing the power button for more than 15 seconds; tried the volume down + power button for more than 15 seconds, and tried the volume up + power button combinations. I tried it while it was connected to the charger and I also tried it without connecting to the charger. All it does is restart/boot my phone I know because it vibrates, but no logo, no display of the battery charging, but the notification light turns red when connected meaning it is charging. I can connect it to the computer also and it displays my device's model. But all in all the screen just stays blank and just keeps blinking (like lighting up and down). The phone wasn't dropped and it did not get wet by any liquid substance, when it happened the battery is up to 87% and I left the screen off for 4 hours before using it then it happened. I am out of solutions as I can't also reset it as there is no display even the logo and battery charging display are gone. But I know it is alive because I can turn it on and off and connect to the charger and pc. If anyone knows or can diagnose the root of the problem it can lessen my worries and maybe just resort to bringing this to a cellphone repair shop. Thank you. TT____TT
