Will HTC Sense with Android 2.1 support landscape home view?

Hi all,
i was wondering if we we will get landscape view for the homescreens on htc hero after the 2.1 update.
i have seen many videos and screenshots but none of them shows htc sense homescreens in landscape.
is this feature implemented?
*Blog link taken out, so gabrieltit can sleep good tonight - and to keep the discussion on topic*
Bye,
Shahpur
Errr..........
I think the answer to your question is: no one gives a ****, son. Did you really think that a weak, uninspired and lame question masquerading as something of interest but merely serving to promote your poorly laid out and derivative blogging would have us all singing your praises ? I told you before, son, the only place your going to get any joy with that is in front of the mirror.
Having said this, perhaps we have all read you incorrectly. This is the renaissance man in action. You have used this 'post' as a modern medium to retell the myth of Narcissus, yourself cast as the vain youth. Or maybe this is moving on a couple of hundred years to neoclassicism - it's a difficult one to judge. When looked upon in this light I say bravo to you sir - re-educating the geeks is a fine and noble cause. Perhaps you might think of creating an allegory of HTC with all those wanting the 2.1 update cast as Tantalus, HTC the vengeful fates. It's food for thought

actually this is even not the first time i posted something about my blog, i.e. i posted my htc sense review and my motorola milestone review. luckily the people understood that i really meant to provide some information for the interested, and i got some positive feedback.
oh BTW: haven't you send me a private message asking to collaborate on my blog? i still have that in my inbox. funny.
and no, the question wasn't a cheap disguise, as you can see nobody could answer it. i still want to know if we will get landscape view as its a very good feature i got used to on my milestone testdevice.
No landscape mode im afraid (not juding by the video clips ive seen of the legend which runs 2.1 and new sense UI but does not tilt orientation.
and in response to the response - nice use of the english language ......... and you re right its food for thought ha ha

i hope this is not true. i really hate it when browsing on landscape mode and when you need to do something on the homcescreens you'll get the vertical view.
this would be a killer criteria. the more i see which way htc sense goes, the more i lean toward the nexus one (faster updates, landscape view).
I didnt realise the nexus one could tilt the homescreen !!!
and dont let gabriel tit put you off your blogging man. I quite often have a look at links and blogs on forums - sometimes theres a nuggett of information that is interesting on them!!!!!

well it has android 2.1 running and afaik this is a standard feature of it.
on htc desire you have the htc sense overlay which may be the reason for the missing landscape view.
milestone has it so i'm expecting that the nexus one has it too, but i'm not 100% sure.

yeah, normally i wouldn't. but i could see this discussion going on off topic, and then it would really look like cheap advertising as many people would check out the topic when its at the top of the message board. Therefore i deleted that part and kept the question which i really wanted to get an answer for.

Read the Question
When I say you geeks aren't the sharpest tools - apart from the appauling use of grammar or lack of it - read the question - I haven't attacked the question per say - rather the cheap attempt at posing a 'question' masquerading as a tool to get you poor unsuspecting fools to read the crap this fool has written elsewhere.
I don't suffer fools yet ironically suffer them alot - this site, for all it's purported intelligence commonly shows a distinct lack of it - Boo Hoo
someone lock this thread up
Using tradition as knowledge HTC will never add landscape to Sense UI unless they release a device with physical keyboard...
Dont mind Gabriel...hes always here trying to bring attention to himself, using empty off-topic phrases in order to look smarter and enlighted.

This obviously isn't directed to everyone. But to those few, please show everyone absolute respect. There's never a need for name calling or rude behavior. We all learn this as small children. Let's do our best to carry this into our adult lives. Okay?

Congrats Stubs24, The only XDA member to buy KIN, Lets discontinue KIN threads

ATM, Stubs24 is the only person to buy this phone and use it on XDA. XDA is getting big and if MSFT half asses on this product, which they did, we should axe this thread to avoid forum bulkyness
I will ask the admins what we'll do with the Kin forums. It will probably be removed, since the device is discontinued.
i bought the kin one. I love it, discontinue it thats fine they will have to pry mine from cold dead hands.
the kin is very streamlined, the fat has been cut for sure. very compact a breath of fresh air if your tired of bulky holsters for iphones/droids. touch screen is snappy and responsive, features are sweet the more i use mine the more i love it. The kin is the soul of what a cell phone should be: a communication device. for all esle we have an endless army of pcs, ipads, laptops etc.
This phone was a victim of microsoft's marketing, as more people discover them the kins will build a following.

This is the most obvious trolling I've ever seen. He has none of what it takes to be an XDA member. To make our phones do EVERYTHING. He's fired.
I have the Kin One and Kin Two, both are being used for development. I WILL CRACK THIS BISCUIT OPEN AND BUTTER IT WITH AWESOME... or android...
Okay now we have 3 people.
It was Stubs24, now we have Raziken and sneakycastro. Looking closely at Raziken, it seems like he is joking though. So final count 2.5 people with a KIN on XDA. Seems like Microsoft Answers Kin Section is the best place for people to talk about this phone. Microsoft probably paid people to talk in the forum to make it seems like people care. They just got laid off yesterday. Seems sad really.
No, I'm completely serious. I hate this phone and I really want to replace the OS on this. In anycase, my main phone is the Eris untill Droid X and I am only using Kin One and Two for Dev.

I'm pretty sure that what he said was sarcasm.
I don't do dev work unfortunately, but you can add another KIN user to the ranks here on XDA.
I have a KIN Two, and I love the phone.
i just got one, to see if it would be feasible as a verizon mini phone for company use... so i can pretty much try anything on it.

Are we a cult?

i came across this and it made me laugh:

i thought i'd share the chuckles and ask...
are we evo warriors a cult??
ps.
i've myself shared quite a few smiles whenever i come across another evo warrior.
I'm hoping for moments like this when school starts up, my mom is gunna kill me if I tell her about another cool new custom kernel

Yes. Now finish your god damned Kool-Aid like a good little purple robe wearing white sneaker shoe wearing follower.
I'll refrain from commenting about how we're different from CoA, since that horse has been beaten dead, rezzed, and killed again.
According to Wikipedia (which is never wrong):
Cult pejoratively refers to a group whose beliefs or practices could be, reasonably or unreasonably, considered strange.
Cult? Not so much. I agree with one of the comments under the article though. There does seem to be a community spirit amongst Android users. I'm new to both Android and the XDA forums but I have been very impressed with how willing and helpful this group of people seems to be.
mmm...this seems rather fitting....just hold "Android" and "Apple" in your mind...i'm sure you can figure which column is which.
http://www.faithresource.org/SpiritualAbuse/ArticlesSpiritAbuse/ReligionversusCult.htm
(i have not read any other page on this site and prolly don't agree with him...this is for entertainment purposes only.)
we encourage individualism
Android helps us meet our needs
we encourage independent critical thinking
we encourage technical integration
like the clergy, it's not right for the devs to take sexual advantage of their followers
ok...so we're not always respectful to critics and non-searching fools
we do cherish our devs
we do encourage folks to search before asking a question
etc...
all hail Andy

yes... but at least we have something to be excited about
Lol I say its more broad as android as a whole.....not evo specific....
Just the other day I was at the car wash getting my car done and another person there had an evo and saw mine. He grilled my phone for a bit and I grilled his but that was it....lol

Why I LOVE this community

I know that there have been a LOT of changes going on around here. I also know that moral seems to suffering as a result. I thought it was important for you ALL to see what this community is TRULY capable of and why I LOVE it so much.
As many of you may be aware of dreamsforgotten decided to pay it forward after I had to sell my Epic in order to help my family. He organized a benefit for me and my family. Because of the support of this community I was able to replace my phone. If you want to see just how AWESOME this community is READ some of the posts in this thread.
I also wanted to take a second and SHOW you guys the positives this community has created by working together. The impact you are having on my family is immeasurable.
I thought I would share this with ALL of you, since you helped to make this possible once again. Please keep in mind that Emmett is Autistic, will be 3 years old next month and until very recently was not able to use words. Something about working with this type of technology just makes things "click". This little app helps him with fine motor skills, object orientation/spacing, colors and language. Also it is helping to build his self-esteem and confidence as evidenced at the end of the clip.
It may not seem like a big deal to some but this is HUGE progress for us. I wanted to say thank you and show you the impact you all have made by working together.
Great News ! REAL Life means SO much more , especially to those of us who are parents ourselves and get to see the strides our kids make and the joy it gives them.
Rob, that's just bad ass man !!! seriously
I'm a father of 6 myself and it just makes my heart happy to see my children accomplish something and see how happy they are
I have always been of the belief that autistic children/people are EXTREMELY intelligent just misunderstood or they can't or don't know how to express themselves efficiently. (Hope that makes sense).. it's just really cool to see how your son is so focused on putting the puzzle pieces in place.. then the expression on his face when he completes the puzzle.. SWEET
Props to everyone that helped make this possible for you bro.
Personally I think all the BS and drama as of late is annoying and tiresome.. seeing something like this just makes it all vanish.. Children have a way of bringing out the best in people (well, most people LOL)...
you're doing a great job as a father Rob.. keep on keepin on man.. mad respect to you and those that made it possible
Good stuff man. That clip made my day.
Rob, in a way, it was you who started the change of tone in the Epic community by taking the time to release the 5.0 version of Midnight with a journal on version for those of us that were the "vocal minority" as well as the journal off version. What were there 4 versions? BYOR as well. All of that with as much as you have going on in your day to day life. You are one of the main people we should all be giving thanks to.

Dude that video was awesome! I love watching my daughter figure stuff out and then seeing how happy she is when she does! You have brought a tear to this grown-ass mans eye You sir are a great father and role model!
That was a great video, thanks for sharing! I am sure you are very proud of him
This is great, your efforts amaze me, Rob. If only more people in this world were as caring and understanding as some of the people here on these forums.
I myself am young, but I've heard of a lot of hardships, and this is touching to say the least. I wish I could do more to help, but alas distance is sometimes a burden.

When you have an Autistic child that you are told may NEVER speak and is significantly developmentally delayed, it's literally feels like your world just shatters like broken glass. So when you see things like this it becomes like a miracle. I wanted you guys to see how your support is being used.

it may appear as though he's developmentally delayed man, but IMO he (and most likely you and everyone else in his life ) are searching for some creative methods with which he can express himself/communicate, and other ways with which to teach him that HE can understand and learn in his own way.... as humans, we all learn differently and people that have autism have their own unique way that they learn. Finding this way that works for them can sometimes be frustrating, but when things click.. it's most likely the most amazing feeling in the world
I was watching him in that video man and I can tell he's VERY smart. Kudos to you for thinking outside the box and finding ways that modern technology can help him express himself, communicate, and learn.. you're a great father man.. honestly.
I'm glad to be associated (albeit a distant one LOL) with someone like yourself.
And again, I'm super happy that the community has banded together in ways that can indirectly help out more than just you.. (to be read, helping your family as well).
The only autistic kid I've ever come across had a very good affinity for computers and how things were meant to be put together. Her name is Riley and she really loved to play minesweeper on the computer and she is actually really good. I love bringing my son over to play, cause they actually get a long great as long as he isn't on HER computer. LOL. Glad to see that you are using the Epic to help your son reach his greatest potential.
yes this community is awesome, tons of useful information.
Rob, you and your family will be in my heart the rest of my life, I will do anything in my power to spread the word, I'm actually working on something on my side to help...

Btw that app looks like fun what is it called? I want to play lol!!
Awesome video Rob. He is very intelligent. Like everyone else said thank you Rob for everything that you have done. I will always do my best to help spread autism awareness where ever I may go. Thank you for the inspiration you have given me as a father. Btw what is that app called? My daughter would love to play it.

This video was very inspiring. I thank you Rob for everything you've done as well and your little boy Emmett is adorable! I'm only 14, but believe me when I'm older, I still won't forget this, and the amazing things you have done for your children. It is people like you that make people want to have a reason to live, to wake up every morning. I love how you involved technology in your boy's daily life to make him happy. God bless you, sir.

This is at least the third time you have posted this in the S4 forums. Although it has information about Samsung in the article, multiple posts could be considered spamming.
Yes like everything in any forum where people asks the same question 20 times, just want to know what people in this forum think of that
now idk why samsung would do that because right now they are by far a better company than htc
Eh who cares...people will buy what they like better...and in my opinion the sgs4 is a much better phone the one...especially the white HTC one...I think that one looks ugly because the speakers seem to stand out so much

To be sure Samsung is guilty where they're guilty in this. However, people are spinning this out to be "big dog does everything in its power to crush little dog" and criticism of HTC or their products is just "paid shills trying to hide the truth". That's simply not the case, and Samsung is more than capable of sinking HTC in sales, bloggers or no bloggers.
