Slow flash on Nexus One - Nexus One General

So flash 10.1 final just came out and I've been trying to play around with it. I notice that many flash, especially flash games are running very slow(try armor games), also some flash video. It seems YouTube is the smoothest one. Can anybody else confirm your flash performance or is it just me?

You don't have any lag or anything? Even with full flash games? Try crush the castle 2 on armor games.

Plenty of lag here trying some flash games on facebook. Not smooth at all (using dolphin HD).

Have you guys tried double-tapping the game or video to make it fullscreen? That always works for me.

That doesn't really change the fact that the game's slow.

Well, it could, because in full screen it might be using HW acceleration. Don't know if that's the way it's implemented, though.

vimeo.com always played slow for me.

Ah just Google armor games and you will see the game on the home page.

I tried playing crush the castle 2 and it played smoothly, audio wasnt choppy at all and gameplay didnt lagg one bit.

So to people lagging:
1. Which rom are you using?
2. Do you have extra windows open in the browser, what programs are running in the background?
Try restarting your device, and open a flash game without opening anything but the browser. Try with fullscreen and regularly.

I'm using latest CM nightly. Maybe it's the background programs since I never use any task killer app and I have maybe 50 apps installed on the phone together. Also I'm using Dolphin browser HD.
I'll try restart the phone fresh and see how it goes.

Using the Rodgriguez ROM and dolphin HD. Don't have any other tab opened but Im sure I have some apps running in the background. phone is overclocked to 1.113gh
Just tried the full screen mode and it helps a little but not much. I think it's the game that I am playing that's causing the lag (Restaurant City). LOL

I just rebooted my phone and tried crush the castle 2 on armor games. The game still ran very slow. Maybe I need to wipe the cache to do a clean install of ROM? I haven't wiped for a while.

I'm on stock froyo 2.2 and i dont use a task manager. The game was the only window/tab open at the time and the last time i restarted the phone was over a week ago.

Well I guess maybe it's because of the ROM then. CM maybe uses too much system resource and is not optimized.

Try revert back to flash 10.1 beta 3 version. Flash 10.1 final is terribly slow while beta 3 performs quite smoothly on most games and videos. Those who had no issues most likely still on beta 3.

FPse on Galaxy S II

So, installed FPse and downloaded crash team racing .bin file but it does not run! it open and freezes but sound still goes on.
at the same time, this is FPse on gs2 topic. post your FPse experiences with gs2 here. driver 2 is coming at 40kb/s, hope it'll run better
EDIT: Driver 2 runs perfect 60fps
I play Final Fantasy 9.
Runs really well except that there is no sound in the cut scenes.
Gran Turismo 2 runs at 60 fps. Haven't tried anything else yet.

I've tried FF9 as well but all saves I make (in game, not save states) are corrupt.
I'm new to FPse, any idea what I could be doing wrong? Other than that it's working great.
Only suggestion I have for the OP is to try a different bios...maybe thats a fix for me too, but I've already tried two.

I've been playing crash bandicoot 2 and it runs pretty smooth with good sound. I dont get on with the touch screen pad though id prefer it if it gave some feed back or something idk I just prefer the n64oid pad.

everything I have tried runs perfect at 60fps (ocasional slowdown to ~40 on loading etc
Make sure you have a bios selected. Also there seems to be a bug where you need to select the bios twice (you will know when it has worked as it will say please restart - at this point go to close/resart)
And remember you need to select the bios for each game
Re my post above:
It looks like I didn't load the bios twice as someone mentioned. Just did that and now my saves work.
Thanks, now we just need a wiimote compatible bluetooth stack or other controller option

Has anyone managed to get Tomb Raider II to work? Mine gets to the menu and then freezes when going to play the game

fpse is very finicky, however that being said it also runs very well. It doesn't like to save settings, and will usually force close if you try to save them ( at least for me), but once i get in game (i play ffvii alot) it plays wonderful.
also Gran Turismo 2 runs perfect 60fps still didn't figure out why CTR does not work for me since it works usually everywhere.
If anyone wants to try CTR on their own devices and report me if they work or not i would be grateful.

When is the n64 emulator gonna be back in the market?
I tried ripping my CTR disc but that wasn't working for me but I found a ROM that did work. For some reason the audio tracks are different in this rom which kind of sucks, anyone got a original CTR rom working?
psx4droid runs it but its slow..
I pay tekken 3 on mine, works absolutely great, even managed to find savegames with unlocks which work as memory cards.. on a sidenote PSX4Droid wouldn't play the game at all
Tried few PSX games (NFS HP, Pepsi-Man, Bloody Roar, MDK) and all are looking so pixelated (as it is using software rendering and not OpenGL). Same to you guys?
Tried with Screen filtering, it smooth the lines a bit.. but still pixelated + it slowdowns a lot the emulation.
Tried with HLE off, no effect..
Using "scph1001.bin" bios.
Gte acceleration checked
Mdec acceleration checked

In another thread someone mentioned that they were able to play the videos by browsing to the website.
I tried that in the stock browser and the video started playing. It looked nice and smooth and HD. After about 2-3 mins, the framerate dropped to like 3 frames per second and the video become unwatchable. I couldnt figure out a way to fix it, so I gave up.
This is a deal breaker for me considering how awesome HBO Go is. Any rooted devices/custom roms got it running?

this is debatable. Not everyone has been having the same success as you. I have tried a couple different browsers and the video starts out smooth, then after a few minutes the frames drop and it's unwatchable.
Haven't been able to figure out why, since I have plenty of RAM available.
Contact HBO. They have to make it work.
It's only a matter of time until this app has GTab 10.1 support. Email the developer. I did. And I'm having success watching it through Dolphin HD

n64 app: mupen64plus AE

anyone tried running nintendo64 rom emulator? i tried that n64 app: mupen64plus AE
with killerinstinct2GOLD game zip rom and it still lags! i guess 2gb ram doesn't cut it
or it might be just the app that makes it laggy(music choppy, screen flickers)
No, it's probably not a phone problem, but the app just sucks.
I recommend N64oid (google it) and sideload the app. It worked flawlessly on my old Flipside, which is a single core 720MHz and 512mb RAM.

Mupen64Plus, AE clearly states it's unstable and in beta. The dev has lots of other things going on in his life, so development has been very slow recently. Over time, it should eventually surpass N64oid (seeing as N64oid's likely been abandoned), though N64oid is currently much faster and more stable (as it was developed for much longer).
N64oid is pretty decent. I ran mario cart 64 with no lag on my captivate. As far as Mupen64plus goes, as previously stated, its still under development. A sloow, loongg and haard development.

Sry. I dont have the cappy anymore, gave it to my brother. But I did run few games on it, when I had it, like mario cart 64, star fox 64, golden eye 007 and donkey kong 64, all of them ran with little or no lag on the cappy. I would assume the N4, with its S4 Pro and the 320 gpu would be able to handle that with no problem. As far as having issues with certain roms, it could just be the rom itself. Also on the cappy, I played pokemon fire red, using gameboid, and I had 2 different roms for the same game and one of them did run better then the other. ....killerinstinct....nostalgia. good times. :highfive:
I tried playing Smash Bros on it and some characters were missing eyes, such as Mario and Yoshi..
Also the screen flickers quite a bit, messed with some of the settings a bit but it wouldn't solve it. :/

Facebook games on Nexus 4....

Hi All,
How can we play facebook games on Nexus 4? These games require Adobe flash player 11.1 and now Adobe has discontinue its support to Android. You cant even get the flash player from Google Play Store
I'm a huge fan of Farmville and Criminal case and I cant play these games on Nexus 4 (at least till now).
I tried them on Opera, Chrome, UC and Firefox to no avail...
Is anyone able to play facebook games on this phone?
I could not find any threads related to this issue so creating this thread. Please post your experiences.

Thanks for your reply. So isn't there any way to have the flash player working on Nexus 4?
You can get flash player on the Nexus 4. The issue is using flash to play those games since you can't even access those facebook games.
You can check if the developer of the Facebook games have made Apps for them on the play store

You can't play those games on your phone. Please don't do that to such a nice device. Poor nexus.
Sorry I just hate Facebook games.
I'm sure its mainly a browser issue. Browser and flash have to be married in harmony for things to work right.

I installed and checked with Firefox beta. It's always redirecting to Farmville express (even if the check box for loading desktop version is checked) and for Criminal case it is showing that the game is loading but even after loading it 100% it is not going to actual game
Any suggestions?
