[Q] Build 3562 questions - Streak 5 General

New Streak owner and one of the few in Canada. I'm using the above build on Rogers network. I believe my build number is a beta version. Should I be concerned with AT&T locking out betas? My guess no since I'm on a different carrier not even in US.
And is there root instructions for my build yet?

Question about build versions:

Hi,
I have the Verizon Xoom. When looking at rooting etc, I noticed the build number for my Xoom is not listed either on Motodev site or in any of the other forums as being a Verizon 3g version. Its listed as other or WiFi.
The build number is HMJ37. Can any of the Moto Gods confirm this is a valid build for the Verizon 3g, if so, fine, I'll continue on my rooting way. If not, what build should it be. I noticed Motodev lists HRI39 and HRI66 for the Verizon WiFi +3g.
That build is correct. That build is 3.1 while the other build you see on the site is the build it shipped with. Which is 3.0
If you want to root just follow a guide for the Verizon 3g xoom 3.1 root etc.

4.0.3 update confusion

Hi,
I have a rooted Nexus s sim free stock rom, 2.3.6, GRK39F, I9020XXKF1
I want to manually update to 4.0.3 as i still have not received the update OTA
But all i see is t-mobile version?
Is there a way with my model number to mannually update?
so if youre saying to have a cdma nexus s then no. you need to root your phone and flash a custom 4.0.3 ICS rom. there are some good ones built from source. so i would say just do a little reading in the dev section. and Q&A and most everything you need to know will be covered.
I don't have the cdma version i'm UK and have the GSM i believe
ok there is a full list of the upgrades for the nexus s in the general section one the first page if i remember correctly or the dev page. take a look there and just look for your model number and follow instructions.
Don't be confused, T-Mobile is what you want.
In the US, T-Mobile uses the same frequencies as us here in Europe. All other providers use different frequencies or another technology (sprint, nexus s 4g).

[Q] Upgrading Android on a previously region-locked device

I'm looking for some help upgrading my Android version on my Note 3. The problem is that my phone was previously locked to ATT and is from the US, however I purchased it on eBay about 18 months ago and use it in the UK on Virgin. The device has been unlocked and I think it's rooted - it was unlocked with a code provided by the eBay seller and should work with any network - it's at least working with Virgin instead of ATT. The phone has an ATT mark on the back.
I've been putting this off for a while now because my knowledge of messing about with Android is very limited and I'm concerned that if I upgrade to a newer version of Android (currently 4.3), that my phone may lock back to ATT and I may be unable to use it.
To summarise, I would like to upgrade to the latest version of Android with TouchWiz, without region locking creating problems. Can anyone help?

[Q] What rom to use for verizon s5 but using on tmobile network?

I just brought a S5 Verizon off craiglist and in need of some help. Stepping back in to the samsung modding is a bit overwhelming now. Seem like a lot has changed.
The guy who sold it me the phone said he had a cricket store flashed the rom so he can use it on metroPCS. I use T-Mobile so i put in the sim and everything seem to work. I had to manually program the APN for 4g data.
I want to update the phone to lollipop rom so i found a site (http://www.galaxys5update.com/galaxy-s5-stock-firmware/) with all the stock rom. Upon looking up the current build number of the rom on the phone it is KTU84P.G900VVRU1ANK2. Comparing the G900VVRU1ANK2 with the stock firmware site above, the current rom on the phone is Verizon. So the rom is Verizon but still work with Tmobile sim/network? This is kind of confusing.
So to update to lollipop, do i download the lollipop version of Verizon or TMobile? I havent been in the samsung scene since the Vibrant so hopefully you guy can clarify how to update the phone. Thanks.
Here are the information about the current rom (stock i think):
Phone name: samsung-sm-G900
Model number: SM-G900V
Android 4.4.4
Baseband: G900VVRU1ANK2
Build number: KTU84P.G900VVRU1ANK2
Hardware version: G900V.05
Gee - I would like an answer to this too.

You must download the firmware for Verizon.
So only Verizon roms still for s5? No custom carrier roms or universal type roms are available to change carrier?

If the phone is unlocked you can use it with a SIM card of another carrier, but you can't install a ROM of another carrier.

Help

okay, this is my 1st blackberry, and i have the priv on tmobile (t-mobile variant i assume , with tmobile bloat). i bought this off craigslist and im not sure if im on the beta or the official firmware. on the tmobile site it says my software version sould be AAG111 for the quadrooter security update.*https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28664*. but in my phone it says software version is AAG191, model number STV100-1. i want to know if the blackberry i have, is it on the old beta? or the official firmware? as seen on the tmobile support page, the firmware versions do not match and system updates say up to date. also the phone still gets really hot which made me to believe it was on the beta and didnt recieve the tempurature update, im not sure on this please help

AAG191 is the current software. Marshmallow with September 6th patches.
