[Help] Cooking Apps & Moving apps - Windows Mobile

Ok guys I am using osKitchen, 2.13 base stock ROM, using OS Version 24620 and my manila is 2012,
Ok so I'm wanting to cook Cookies Home tab in my rom boots fine but no sign of cookies at all even in programs or the windows folder, I've also tried cooking the editor in also but i get a mismatch
I also want to move
Internet Explorer
Alarms
pictures & video
Phone
Internet sharing
Remote Desktop
but I cant find where I edit them so they move I have managed to organise everything else into folders and create my own folders, Also I have a few icons for twitter and calender etc that take me to the manila tab,how can i delete the shortcuts??
any help or links I would appreciate so much, thank you in advance people.
p.s. I am searching also
EDIT cookies home tab sorted thanks to Crazyc

Did you remember to remove the Manila_full.xml or whatever from package? And is your cookie package being processed after Manila?
I am using an earlier version of Cookie (1.6.1) with Manila 2012 to keep the memory footprint small on my Rhodium, but the latest one converted fine as well AFAIK.

yeah I removed manila_full.xml, after manila ?? how do you do that? would i rename it so its after manila does it work that way? sorry for my ignorance

In my kitchen, when building, it runs SYS, then OEM, then EXt packages.
Within EXt it runs Leo packages, then Rhodium packages, then zzCustom ones. As the CHT packages are in the last one, I assume it overwrites any Manila files it needs to from an earlier package within the Rhodium stuff.

I imported the cab and created a ext and just called it zzzzcht so it went last and worked well thanks man now to sort the rest out lol

Glad to have helped.
The other issues are (IIRC) about locating where the shotcuts are being moved within the app.dats or initflashfiles? (Or in the provxmls)
I thought I read somewhere about adding a provxml that ran on first boot to move /edit where shortcuts went.
Can't really help here as made a screwup with my own rom the other day and am trying to see if my fixed one is stable enough now - so no flashing for a few days!
Incidentally, If you are still using Manila 2012 instead of the new stuff, I found I could add HTC Messaging 1.8 (the 2015 version) to it with no problems. I tried the cab, and then cooked it in using the kicthen converter (as a zz package)
EDIT : Actually, not sure if the 1.8 messaging client is causing me a problem. might have to revert.

Missing "Programms" tab in TF3D

Hi guys!
I have a serious problem: I am missing the programms tab in my TF3D. I don't know how to get i back. The tab is also missing in the tab configurator of TF3D, so it seems there is a serious problem.
Is it possible to easily restore the tab without flashing the whole cell phone?
I am using the latest Miri WM6.5 ROM.
I hope someone can help me...
C YA @LL
Isn't that a "feature" of Miri's ROM?
It certainly is with Dutty's. The start menu should be virtually identical to the old programs tab. This saves the need for an extra tab in the actual TF3D bar. I'm sure there will be info on this in Miri's ROM page (and probably a cab to restore the programs tab, if you really want this feature doubled up).
No, the programm tab was there as i installed the ROM. There is definitly something wrong with some manila files, but i don't where.
The tab disappeared after i installed and uninstalled a "15 tab" cab, which didn't work (TF3D always restarted). So i think there is something wrong with the manila files (perhaps it's just one missing file).
I hope this helps a little more to find a solution.
C YA @LL
Hopefully U did a backup of all ur manila files before overwriting..
Else some one can probably give U the Original manila files in miri's ROM
No, unfortunately i didn't make a backup ... So, I hope someone can send me his manila files from the current Miri ROM WM6.5 release ... or, if somebody knows which manila files are responsible for the tabs, just send me the needed files ... i don't want to reflash my HTC, or is it possible to backup all settings to restore them after flashing? I am talking about my contacts, text messages, call history, etc., and "no", I don't have outlook installed. It is also very interessting for if it's possible to make some kind of an image of the current ROM. A complete binary backup which could be restored at any time.
C YA @LL
try PIM backup.
You need to search this forum for the manila posts to know which file is holding that info. Or U can replace all the manila files from ur ROM image.
Use the nbh extractor to extract the files from the image.

[Q] cooking without Internet Explorer & Pocket Outlook

Does anybody knows how to not cook-in Internet Explorer & Pocket Outlook?
Deleting the SYS packages let the Rom doesn't boot:
-BROWSING
-Browsing_DPI_192
-Browsing_Lang_0409
-BROWSINGCORE
-browsingie
-browsingie_LANG_0409
Anybody knows a successful way? Perhaps with a Dummy-Package?
Nope, just delete the IE shortcut, and use opera or something else as your default browser.
I've heard you have issues with IE removed-things like .htm files can no longer be read.
only those can be removed
-browsingie
-browsingie_LANG_0409

I cook roms for BA!
That's really weird . Well for me it doesn't work with the Vistang Kitchen.
And with Pocket Outlook. Is there any chance?

Which Rom version?
I believe removing IE worked when cooking for Wizard long time ago, but ROM was unstable (cant blame me here...it was about 3 yrs ago...he he). But I dont think you will have a bootable ROM when cooking for newer devices.

I have cook for my a Rom for HTC Kaiser and works fine
@d-two
yes, I can confirm that it works. I had an issue with my primary kitchen (Rom image error while flashing if I didn't cooked these packages).
After using my older backup kitchen it works flawless. BUT: IE still exists... but(2): never mind, because the image its more than 2 MB lighter... now I am with my kitchen at around 102MB including Manila.
Any other hints are welcome!

IE is not recommended to completely remove...
You can compress many files with UPX as example the files in the Office folder or in MediaOS the 2 dll files (wma9prodecoder.dll,wmv9decoder.dll) for save space.
Pocket Outlook as i think necessary to work with contacts and other data base like native engine.
Guys, browsingie and it's lang can be deleted easily - it's just a new interface of IE. When you delete them - you will just get old IE interface. It's also useful in that case to replace browsres.XX.dll for one from 6.1 to save space.
Pocket Outlook... hmmm... For the record - user interface of Pocket Outlook is application called Contacts. So deleting Pocket Outlook you will delete Contacts. If you don't need them - ok - go ahead
One more thing - deleting browsingie you should also delete Widgets - they won't work.
Never try to delete IE by itself - all the GUI things are htm resources inside dlls and muis. Deleting IE you will loose your GUI - it means you will obtain non-bootable rom.
P.S. Actually the topic name sounds .... let's say - rather strange.
Thank you for these really useful hints!!!
I am using a browsres.192.dll from an extracted WM6.1 custom Rom from Onkolog (Blackstone Cooking legend of lean Roms) -> see attachement
Also tried UPX-compression some exe: (Office, Camera,...)

[Problem] [ERROR]Please check HTCLOG

I recently updated my OSKitchen from 1.26 to 1.30/1alpha only to find that now when I cook a ROM I get the [ERROR]Please check HTCLOG message on bootup. I updated a few EXT packages at the same time but nothing critical - my OEM and SYS are untouched from when my ROM's were working just fine under OSK 1.26.
Any ideas what's causing this error message? It was suggested by someone that my RunCC may be calling config.txt files with faulty values in them, but I've checked the config's and all seems fine (only modification by me is to use amarullzgreenblack.tsk instead of classicblue.tsk and this is untouched from previous working ROMs).
Really don't want to have to rebuild the damned kitchen from scratch

Normally it will point you to the culprit. You need to check all the config txt's ie config_ap, config_operator, etc. It could be a bad cab, xml, tsk, etc being called up by one of the config txt's.

There's no information in the box that appears other than the error message, so no clues as to what's failing. Having checked all my config files from the runcc.lua the only thing that is called at all is the amarullzgreenblack.tsk, which is being cooked in and as I said it's been working fine for my last 5 or 6 roms without change.
The only thing I've noticed is that the older OSK I was using (1.26) sorted some packages containing config.txt's into the OEM dir, while the new OSK puts them into EXT. Folder structure is then different and I think it must be this that's broken it. I've tried rebuilding the OEM's as EXT's but it still won't work

Try changing the tsk thats called up by config.txt to one Classic Blue or something other than amarullzgreenblack.tsk just to rule that out.

Tried that, still wouldn't work. If I cook without RunCC the ROM will boot without error, but then the initial customisation doesn't run i.e. no SIM or operator settings are made.
I don't think I'm going to get to the bottom of this so I've started building a new kitchen. Does anyone know which packs from Leo 2.14 will make my ROM TMOUS HD2 compatible? I can't remember...

hi i cant find these files in package.can you please look at attachment and tell me what i am doing wrong.thanks
sorry i have to remove exe file from zip because of size limit.
Sorry have to post and run as have a train to catch.
What I did was onvert the TomTom cab using Oskitchen. Whilst the cab created no issues for me, the EXT produced rom it did. First step was to remove the two BT files. I still had an issue and removing the phone.dll I think it was sorted it. If you dont have them in the EXT then fine - you dont need to remove them.
I will try and post my EXT at the weekend but I need to strip out my TomTom traffic and initial setup files for my user account etc, and am away from home.

thank you very much your help is much appreciated.
Still not gonna have much time at home to sort this out, but if you have oskitchen, just find the TomTom cab for the HD2, (Mine works well on Rhodium because of the keyboard) and import it using the built in oskitchen tool. The only other thing I would do (in my case) is delete the two BT dlls and the Phone.dll. from the files folder.
Job done.

Try this.

Not my current package as that is a hybrid that contains personal stuff, but I did what I suggested and imported the cab to oskitchen and deleted the useless files.
Let me know if it sorts it out.

[Solved] CHTrss widget - Manila 2021 -Unable to restart sense

Hi,
My cook rom is with last 2021 / 21690 040C and CHT2.
I've also a package for RssWidget for CHT2.
My problem is when I put the rss widget on home after if I put away tabs on the settings page, sense won't restart, need to do a sofreset.
When is not on the home page no problem even cook in.
I'm using rss and addon state links wiget
Does anybody have an idea ?
Hi,
After many search I think that's something in the parameters of CHT.
I don't find yet where, but I try with cht parameters from last HD2Owner rom and it's ok.
I've try so many things with different packages in the kitchen.
I join my backup of cht parameters if someone have an idea.
Thanks - Eric
I've also problems with the widget. After widget cooked in HTC Sense starts, but CHT isn't displayed

Hi,
I've found a way to get it working, but need to have 3 widgets pages.
On my config I just have 1 widget page and 3 quicklinks pages.
On the hd2 of my wife it's the same config of mine without AddonStateLinks and it works.
So now error is found and is something to do with widget on CHT.
Just
About your widget, did you get correct manila file conversion for the slot number ?
For now I rebuilt a complete fresh kitchen and take to playing with the new options.
I haven't test yet but for my Addon_State_link, CHTI.AddonLinks was at slot1 and was nothing at slot0, may be need to correct manila file to have it at slot0.
But will continue this on CHT topic when I'll be ready as now I know it's don't come from some of my packages.

I don't know. I did it like Cookie posted in his thread. Mode9 and lua Files from cab in ManilaHash. I think they must by prepared for the Slot 0 before, no?
edit: I'm a dummy it's not the "real" path!
