SMS & Call log got deleted automatically - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi there,
after writing an SMS, I wondered about all my messages got deleted automatically. Additionaly to this, the whole call log was erased at the same time.
Luckily I did an backup so I could restore nearly all of them. But this really sucked. Hope, it will not happen again.
So anybody of you knows what could have caused this? I obviously disabled the option in the stock sms app to delete old messages.
Normally I'm using Handcent SMS on CM 5.0.8...
Thanks for your help =)

Can't open SMS or Message apps

Hello All: I have a Spanish Elfin, works fine, came all the way to Zimbabwe with me. All of a sudden I can't open the SMS app or Messaging. From home screen, if I select SMS app it just does nothing. Same thing if I try to send an SMS from iContacts or if I try to send a text message from my list of phone calls. All just do nothing. I back-up every day with Sprite Backup, but going back a few days does nothing to that problem.
Anybody have a solution for this, please? In Zimbabwe, SMS is the best way of communication, I need this.
Thanks in advance

How to recover LOST SMS

i installed an app smsrules, then i created a rule and i guess something went wrong and deleted all the sms messages. Is there anybody who can tell me how to get those messages back? even though they seem deleted?
I've got an HTC Touch HD (and had that time threaded mode on)
When something gets deleted on a harddrive it's still there. It only gets deleted when it's overwritten with something else so most of your sms can probably be recovered with a data recovery tool. Try not to add/change anything on the phone until you've restored your sms.

Issue with Messaging

I have an unlocked and rooted Arc in which I had recently used sprite backup to restore all my messages (after the unlocking etc). I only just noticed that if i try to delete a sms conversation, it removes all the texts in the messages, but the header remains, i.e. the subject and sender name still shows in the messages main page. When I click on the name, it shows no text. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue and if anyone knows how to solve this problem?
Anyone?
Thanks
Well I have a stock one without rooting,
No problems here.
unlocked + root no issue here.
Maybe something went wrong recovering sms
Are you using stock SMS? I had similar problem with Stock SMS application on X10.. Handcent, ChompSMS, Go SMS Pro etc have not this issue

SMS keeps crashing

Hey guys, so recently I went from one phone carrier to another and my text messages were not working (inbound and outbound). They told me to delete all my messages in order for it to work. So I did a backup with SMS Backup+ and gave it a try and the outbound worked (I had not yet tried getting an inbound yet) So I asked the CSR if I can restore my messages and he said yes everything should work now. Well, that's where the problem started. Once I restored, SMS keep crashing, it says Loading conversations forever and then I had to reboot my phone. Once I was able to get in, I see the messages but when I click on one, its just blank as it trying to load but nothing is happening. I rebooted and tried to delete them all again and its just stuck, nothing happens. I looked around for solutions and someone mentioned to get another text messaging app to at least get in your messages so you can delete it and then use the stock app for messaging again. I got chomp SMS and yes I was able to get in and said delete all, well its says deleting for the past 2 hours now and not sure if it is actually deleting or just stuck. Any help would be appreciated to get this working again

Click to collapse
Try deleting the data of the SMS app from the android settings.

Sms backup / database corrupted?

Hey i was having issues with texting today and couldn't pinpoint if it was tmobile or the fact I have over 20k in messages. On the phone with them all day and messages wouldn't send/ receive. Couple ppl said they sent me messages and never received.. Some test ones eventually came through.
Anyways, I had restored messages from a previous phone to this and now I went to do a backup like I normally would with Sms backup & restore and never had a issue. I look into the file saved and noticed that many of the messages aren't saved. I used the built in backup with Samsung cloud and restored on another galaxy phone..
Seems like since I got the phone not many messages saved. Would I have to format the messaging app to remove all messages and call it a loss at this point and start from scratch?
Sorry for the long message. Thank you in advance
