Task29 for HTC HD2 TMoUS - HD2 General

is there a Task29 for HTC HD2 TMoUS??

task29 will work on any leo, you just need to be sure of what .nbh file you are using it with.
Personally i would probably use a splashscreen, cos theyre compatible with all leo's, but so long as you use a tmous radio file, that would work too.
(Tmous radios ALL have .50. in the version NEVER .51., , and don't use 2.06.50.x even though it has a 50 in the version, it is not tmous compatible.)
actually, i have just checked, and the link
"
RS mirror, by Sardelisp
h t t p://www.rapidshare.com/files/3616...5___task29.zip
"
(the last link in post one of the task29 thread)
comes with radio 2.08.50.05 which is tmous safe.

that's the "splashscreen" andit isn't partof the rom, task 29 or flashing other roms won't necessarily work. it occupies its own memory space, and you flash it just like radio or rom. some cooked roms and all official roms come with them built in, or you candownload and flash them yourself with customruu, and even make your own. just Google "leo hd2 splashscreen"
or have a read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684301
to make your own, or theres a nice example

how hard is it to install a radio rom

how hard is it to install a radio rom
i have tmobile touch pro 2 ...usa
has anyone got a write up
on the install
im not that much of a techie
i have read alot of threads to get up to speed
but my technical skill are not that good
please help
They are very easy, follow the same steps as flashing a rom, thats it!! Must be Hard-spl then just run the curtomruu.exe
Yeah, as husker91 says, just pretend you're flashing a ROM. It's very easy. Just follow all the steps, don't skip any steps, and make sure you follow all the directions!
Here's a pictorial, if you need it. This pictorial is a ROM-flashing guide, and it's pretty much how you flash a radio-rom.
*However, I do believe this should have been posted in the Radio thread OR at least the ROM development sub-forum.
Very easy as stated above
Don´t forget to vote!
what is (curtomruu.exe )
also what rom do you guys recomend for the tmobile touch pro 2..us.

well as far as roms goes.my way is just grab one and flash everybody has likes and dislike .you wont know till ya start flashing different ones.it gets addictive but i love it .i would suggest this rom for your first one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572938 it's stable and fast. i am on it right know ,plus i have a tmobile tp2.usa .so just follow the instructions and flash it .once you get the hang of it you will be flashing alot.just have to find one that you like ,that meets what you want to do with it! it's very easy to do ! well good luck man!the customruu.exe is the progam that will install it into your phone from your computer . it's already in the zip file you download. when you unzip the file you download you will see it !this rom if i remember right ,after you unzipp it you will see a file named flash open it you will see the customruu .well just follow instructions from above you will get it .i know it's scary at first but just be confident. also when you go to flash it from computer make sure all programs are closed and don't open any while you are flashing it .that way nothing mess with it while it's installing .
when i install it will it be put in my programs menu

if you are talking about the customruu.exe no it won't .it's built in to the rom's package itself.you won't see it on your phone.just see it on computer after you unzip .
no when i install the radio will it be in my programs menu
i did the first step the hardspld
now for step 2

Customruu.exe is the file you launch while your phone is synchronized to the PC. By using customruu.exe, your PC is transferring the new radio-rom data onto your phone (it's upgrading the radio-rom as this happens).

No, the radio-rom is a software upgrade. Hence, it won't be a program. It'll just be there in your phone (just like how you hardsSPLd your phone, that doesn't show up as a program).
cool ....theres so many to choose from, any more tips before i go to the rom section

My tip from my own experience: Try as many of them (radio-roms and ROMs) as you can!
Purpose: if you try as many as you can, you will eventually find one that will suit your needs. If you stick with one radio-rom or one ROM, you might not know what you're missing out on with others!
*Radio-roms depend on ROM and location. Not every radio-rom will be the same. I've tried 6 radio-roms, and I ended up with .17 being the best for me. So, try them and see which one is best for you.*
will these radio roms remove my today screen

Nope. Radio-roms only determine your phone capabilities (signal strength, data connections, and battery life).
Your Today screen only changes with custom ROMs. Custom ROMs change your Today screen to whatever it comes with.

HardSPL voids your warranty. Reflashing everything stock and the stockSPL will validate your warranty again.
Radios
Most radio come with custom ruu and are as easy as double click to install.
.88 seems to work best for me.
Good luck.

Identifying US Tmo HD2 roms correctly

I just got my phone the other day ago and from what I understand is that you can flash anything from 2.08? Is that correct? Also how do you identify what rom is what?
Most Chefs have the ROM version in their title (e.g. 2.10)

So just to make sure if I flash something that has 2.10 I'll be fine? Its been a long time since Ive messed with windows mobile so I got to learn everything again
Yep, should be ok - so long as you have the correct HSPL on your HD2.
I've noticed Chefs also adding in titles that the ROM is compatible with the TMO HD2 so keep an eye out

HI,
If I am testing different ROM's from various Dev, do I need to do anything to my HD2 before installing another ROM? or when you install a ROM, it essentially cleans it anyway??
Just wondering ....
A new rom is supposed to clean the old one BUT in reality it doesn't! You will have to do a Hard Reset every time you install a ROM and additionaly task29 with MTTY will be a good idea before you flash the new ROM!

it includes a radio rom image(it needs a rom of one kind or another present to work). remove the .nbh file that comes with it and replace with a radio that you know works on your device and it will work.
or you could replace the radio nbh with a splash screen nbh which means the process runs faster and you don't have to keep track of what radio you are using
Thanks for everyones help

Maybe you should read more. You have to actually do a bit more than just put the files on the SD card.

Instructions:
- Extract the Android folder (with all files in in) to root of your SD Card. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
- After copying everything to your SD Card ensure you have at least 1200 Mb free space for data store.
- Go into Android folder(using your phone) and tap CLRCAD (for working sound), and after that just tap HaRET.
- On first run when there is “Creating a new datastore” just give it time to complete, and on first boot be patient and give it time to load everything.

Correct me if im wrong but any radio that has 2.xx.51.xx_x
That .51 being the main problem for some reason. You need to put a radio that has .50 in it. For instance mine is 2.12.50.02_2
Note the .50 in it. You need to first flash hard spl using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE DOING ANYTHING. Once thats complete you have to flash a new radio, which is actualy pretty easy using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787 and this custom ruu file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4798017&postcount=1
I know this probably all sounds like alot, but trust me my friend I was also a noob when I first did all this. Last but not least here is a link defining all these crazy terms we use here on this forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774859. Good luck man, im sure you will get it done.

Hi,
Each ROM nowadays seems to have a different sized CWM partition.
This is generally well explained on the [OP].
Read carefully,or at least post which ROM you intend to use,so that someone could maybe check for you.

Hi,
Only other thing I can think of is;
have you got the correct ROM for your phone...magldr/clk...tmous/EU 512
OP, you should really use the search feature instead of asking repeat questions.
Do this:
Task 29
Update Radio
MagLDR 1.13
Clockwork Mod Recovery
ROM
Done.

So now that you have it figured. Run the Tmous version and see if you like it then download the EU version with CWM partition size 190 instead of the 240 you used for the Tmous version. It works and you get more free ram. I am runnning EU ROM with 150 partition and am getting 250+ ram free 24/7. Just a tip to any US HD2, you can run the EU version of any Rom.
And please rename thread with [SOLVED] at the beginning of thread name. Now others won't need to waste time and help, and "EXPERTS" won't come to flame.
