after you apply HSPL_1024... - HD2 General

HI,
If I am testing different ROM's from various Dev, do I need to do anything to my HD2 before installing another ROM? or when you install a ROM, it essentially cleans it anyway??
Just wondering ....

A new rom is supposed to clean the old one BUT in reality it doesn't! You will have to do a Hard Reset every time you install a ROM and additionaly task29 with MTTY will be a good idea before you flash the new ROM!

it includes a radio rom image(it needs a rom of one kind or another present to work). remove the .nbh file that comes with it and replace with a radio that you know works on your device and it will work.
or you could replace the radio nbh with a splash screen nbh which means the process runs faster and you don't have to keep track of what radio you are using

Thanks for everyones help

Recommended re flashing to official roms?

Everyone says it is always safer to flash an official rom between custom rom installs, but when I do, it changes my radio and ipl/spl to an undesirable version.
Is there an official nk.nbf file without the radio or ipl/spl available that I can use? I searched all over, even wizard wiki, but cant seem to find any.
Thank You in advance!

I will upload the T-Mobile Official Rom without IPL/SPL/GSM shortly. I can even leave out the Official Splash screens if you like. Just let me know and it will be done.
EDIT:: Rom is uploading as we speak. Rom includes T-Mobile Official WM5 OS, HTC screen, Splash screen, Extended Rom.
Removed from Official Rom:: GSM/IPL/SPL>> Link Will be added shortly.
Wow, thanks dharvey! Splash screen omitting not necessary.

Here it is.
This is the Official T-Mobile WM5 Rom exactly as it would come on a brand new T-Mobile MDA only this version has the IPL/SPL/GSM removed so that you do not have to re-flash the 3.08 IPL/SPL and your custom radio every time you upgrade.

I did this as much for me though as I did it for everyone else. When it comes to flashing new roms, I must say I am an addict and I like to have a clean base to start from before flashing a new rom and this is perfect because I don't have to reflash my IPL/SPL and GSM every time.
Hopefully someone will upload that to ftp so everyone can access it easily.

Use 'Romupdateutility' also called as 'RUU'. Rest on screen. Follow. If you don't have the RUU, download it, search for it first.
Thanks for the share..can't use this one because its not a 1.58****.
But because you put only the .nhb file over here i made a new file incl. the custom rom update utility.

Best Regards,
thank you all perfect
1.59.46.12 vs 1.59.44.02
Rom 1.59.46.12 needs to be really better than 1.59.44.02.....can hardly imagine that new rom offers faster and better GPS/signal....I have almost always 100% signal and GPS in 15 seconds...
Perhaps longer battery life.....this is always welcom......
Let us know.

how hard is it to install a radio rom

how hard is it to install a radio rom
i have tmobile touch pro 2 ...usa
has anyone got a write up
on the install
im not that much of a techie
i have read alot of threads to get up to speed
but my technical skill are not that good
please help
They are very easy, follow the same steps as flashing a rom, thats it!! Must be Hard-spl then just run the curtomruu.exe
Yeah, as husker91 says, just pretend you're flashing a ROM. It's very easy. Just follow all the steps, don't skip any steps, and make sure you follow all the directions!
Here's a pictorial, if you need it. This pictorial is a ROM-flashing guide, and it's pretty much how you flash a radio-rom.
*However, I do believe this should have been posted in the Radio thread OR at least the ROM development sub-forum.
Very easy as stated above
Don´t forget to vote!

well as far as roms goes.my way is just grab one and flash everybody has likes and dislike .you wont know till ya start flashing different ones.it gets addictive but i love it .i would suggest this rom for your first one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572938 it's stable and fast. i am on it right know ,plus i have a tmobile tp2.usa .so just follow the instructions and flash it .once you get the hang of it you will be flashing alot.just have to find one that you like ,that meets what you want to do with it! it's very easy to do ! well good luck man!the customruu.exe is the progam that will install it into your phone from your computer . it's already in the zip file you download. when you unzip the file you download you will see it !this rom if i remember right ,after you unzipp it you will see a file named flash open it you will see the customruu .well just follow instructions from above you will get it .i know it's scary at first but just be confident. also when you go to flash it from computer make sure all programs are closed and don't open any while you are flashing it .that way nothing mess with it while it's installing .
when i install it will it be put in my programs menu

if you are talking about the customruu.exe no it won't .it's built in to the rom's package itself.you won't see it on your phone.just see it on computer after you unzip .

Customruu.exe is the file you launch while your phone is synchronized to the PC. By using customruu.exe, your PC is transferring the new radio-rom data onto your phone (it's upgrading the radio-rom as this happens).

No, the radio-rom is a software upgrade. Hence, it won't be a program. It'll just be there in your phone (just like how you hardsSPLd your phone, that doesn't show up as a program).
cool ....theres so many to choose from, any more tips before i go to the rom section

My tip from my own experience: Try as many of them (radio-roms and ROMs) as you can!
Purpose: if you try as many as you can, you will eventually find one that will suit your needs. If you stick with one radio-rom or one ROM, you might not know what you're missing out on with others!
*Radio-roms depend on ROM and location. Not every radio-rom will be the same. I've tried 6 radio-roms, and I ended up with .17 being the best for me. So, try them and see which one is best for you.*
will these radio roms remove my today screen

Nope. Radio-roms only determine your phone capabilities (signal strength, data connections, and battery life).
Your Today screen only changes with custom ROMs. Custom ROMs change your Today screen to whatever it comes with.

HardSPL voids your warranty. Reflashing everything stock and the stockSPL will validate your warranty again.
Radios
Most radio come with custom ruu and are as easy as double click to install.
.88 seems to work best for me.
Good luck.

Task29 for HTC HD2 TMoUS

is there a Task29 for HTC HD2 TMoUS??
task29 will work on any leo, you just need to be sure of what .nbh file you are using it with.
Personally i would probably use a splashscreen, cos theyre compatible with all leo's, but so long as you use a tmous radio file, that would work too.
(Tmous radios ALL have .50. in the version NEVER .51., , and don't use 2.06.50.x even though it has a 50 in the version, it is not tmous compatible.)
actually, i have just checked, and the link
"

h t t p://www.rapidshare.com/files/3616...5___task29.zip
"
(the last link in post one of the task29 thread)
comes with radio 2.08.50.05 which is tmous safe.

that's the "splashscreen" andit isn't partof the rom, task 29 or flashing other roms won't necessarily work. it occupies its own memory space, and you flash it just like radio or rom. some cooked roms and all official roms come with them built in, or you candownload and flash them yourself with customruu, and even make your own. just Google "leo hd2 splashscreen"
or have a read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684301

[Q] Update part00.bin radio without reflash?

Hi all,
Running Yuki's Mango V2. Is it possible to update to this radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111613
... without reflashing and then re-updating to 7020? (I.E. maybe using the cab installer) Seems like a simple question but I couldn't find it in the search.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I'm curious as to if this is a limitation because it's really not possible, or because no-one has made a cab. Since this is the software radio for WP7, not the radio ROM, it theoretically seems possible to update via the file system.
Thanks again,

never need to create a new rom, you can create a cab for what you want (logo, radio & more)

I'm not entirely sure this is true.. My HD2 running Yuki V2 has Radio 5.69, which to my understanding does not work with the Camera trick, and therefore results in much higher standby voltages than radio 5.51T.
Thanks,
