New phones rootable? - Droid Incredible General

Hello,
I have an order through best buy and they said
I should be getting my phone in a week.
Are the Incredibles that are shipping now rootable still?

I got mine at best buy 2 weeks ago and rooted it.

Rooting gives 'superuser' access to your phone. For example, right now, you can't access the system directory or root directory in the phone. Root gives you access to all the 'protected' files on your phone.

Methinks the OP is a troll.
Anyway, depending on where you live, you might be able to pick one up on Craigslist for virtually nothing. I paid $325 CDN for mine, and it is 99.9% brand new, is unlocked, comes with box, receipt, extra screen protector applied, and rubber case.
In my area, most of the sellers are asking $400 CDN for sealed models, but if you wait, you should be able to score one for $350. I actually bought one brand new for exactly $350 last week, then sold it because I hated Rachel at first. However, I was longing for the X10 again and lucked out the other day when I found another one on CL.
eBay prices seem to be 15% higher than CL.
400 is cheap. I wish i brought one instead of taking roger's plan. i had to pay 150 bucks and stuck on 3 years. But i will have to pay them eventually anyway.
Watch the language fellas. Also, please stop flaming the OP.

Tell me about it. In Vancouver, there are over a dozen of them for $400. I had the Liquid E, which is a very underrated phone, but for LESS than the Acer, I could get the X10, so it was a no-brainer. Sure, the Liquid has Eclair now, but we will get the last laugh when FroYo arrives.

Rooting for Aria with factory updated Froyo 2.2

Is there any developer out the willing to take on this task?
Is any will to donate to get this development done? I know I do.
Please comment.
Thank you,
Techsican
UPDATE: 4/11/2011
As of my original post, there has been some interest on getting this issue resolved, by donation offerings and a developer has even offered his time on working on this issue for us.
Attn1 has offered his time to try to figure out the rooting issue with the Froyo update from HTC/AT&T due to the hboot lock.
All we need is for someone to offer up their phone with the latest Froyo update so we can send it to attn1 to see if he can get it to root. I see that a couple of you guys have offered their phones already. I will be contacting you guys to see if we can come up with plan on getting attn1 a phone. I might just use my son's phone if he is willing to part with it for a while.
Update 4/14/2011
Attn1 is going to find a work around out of the kindness of his heart and does not want any compensation. This is what I love about the Android community, there is alway someone willing to help out solve problems without asking for anything in return. Attn1, you might not want are money, but please except our Thanks!
Thank again and keep an eye out for updates.

I would be willing to donate. As much as I love my Aria, right now I've had it. AT&T really knows how to take a perfectly great phone and turn it to s#%* with all their crapware.
I just didn't realize I wouldn't be able to go back to being rooted.
You might try buying an Aria with 2.1 so you can root it and sell your 2.2. Should be within a few bucks of even money and you can get ability to root back.

Good idea,hehe!
Buying a new phone would be an excellent idea if it was in the budget.
I guess we all fell for to the old upgrade trap! I was hoping to get this resolved, so I could root and update my son's phone to a cleaner/leaner ROM, like CM7. I have a contract renewal in June, so I guess my son will just have to wait. Oh well! :/
Regrets
Regrets to all that have upgraded to Froyo 2.2 using RUU method. I am confident that with the brain trust of talented developers out there it won't be long before someone finds away to reverse the upgrade. Until then we wait and hope....
Got the wife an unlocked Aria, she's not into roms and such but wish I could remove all the att crapware!

For your wife, throw Liberated Aria Froyo on her phone with either the stock kernel (provided in the Liberated Aria Froyo thread) or Gene Poole's hoxnet_004b kernel and call it a day. Liberated Aria Froyo is totally unbranded, meaning no logos and no crapware. Plus it keeps things familiar for her since it uses Sense.
I would be willing to donate aswell. My brother wants to root his phone but updated before he knew any better.

Sorry. I had assumed that her phone had 2.1 on it. Did it come from AT&T with 2.2 on it when bought and it was upgraded?

We have root for the sgs3 look in the development section.
Yep don't have my phone yet, but the great Chainfire has got root, on dev thread.
I will now be looking at running backtrack on s3, got it working on the Arc, drivers for the s3 might be forthcoming due to the popularity of the s3.

Get GS4 or wait?

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is.. i'm looking to upgrade soon, but i'm not sure if I should go ahead and get the GS4 or wait.
I'm on Verizon, and there are rumors about the Verizon HTC One, Moto X, Nexus 5, Note 3...
Just do it, it's an amazing phone you could be forever waiting for the next model if you did that my friend

Note 3 would probably be worth the wait

I would say go for the GS4 it's a really good buy. Waiting for something better is like waiting for tomorrow to come... Because when the new one do comes,:fingers-crossed: you would want to wait once again. And it goes on.
You just have to make your mind up and go for it
Thanks for the advice everyone, I think i'll be picking up my GS4 over the weekend. Is it easy to root the Verizon GS4? Could someone link me to a root guide by any chance? I rooted my HTC Rezound but i'm new to the Samsung root method.

Not at this time. Possibly not ever but seeing that the last 2 generations of Droids eventually got unlocked I'd say there is a chance. It just might take a while

Doing homework, wise! I bought a gs4 and took an OTA that same day, not realizing I needed MDK. Hated that phone ever since! However, I'm loving my turbo. I do miss the slimness of gs4 in a minimal case, but that's probably because there aren't any good slim turbo cases yet.

It seems that it will have, it will sell through the Motorola web store, but I can't confirm for sure until the release.
