[SOLVED] Phone Screen Freezing - Windows Mobile

Hi,
I have been creating ROMs for about a month now and i seem to have a problem on most of my recent ROMs which i didn't have before
I am using build 23569, WM6.5.5, Based on Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.01.405.T1 using osKitchen1.31alpha2.
The problem i seem to be having is when i recieve an incoming call there is no screen to answer it, it stays on whatever screen your on. You Cant answer the phone using the hard pickup button. and th phone keeps ringing until i do a battery pull.
Also when i dial out the screen freezes sometimes when answered and cannot end the call or when you end the call either using the end call button or the hard end call button it ends the call but hangs on the screen then i have to push the hard end call button to lock the phone then unlock the phone and press the hard talk button to make sure everything is fine and usually the dialer screen pops up.
I have removed all dialer themes and taskbar themes which temporarily solved th problem but then it started again.
i am using
Code:
Phone Canvas Enhancement 2G v4.2.62520142921.0
Phone Setting v1.72.0.0
I have also tried using
Code:
Phone_Canvas_Enhancement_5_0_61220142530_0
PhoneCanvas_5_30_0_0
PhoneExt_Service_2_52_0_0
I cant seem to fix the problem.
If you would like to see the problem in action please download one of my ROMs from the link in my signature
Many Thanks In Advanced

Thanks for reply i wasent using that one anyways i was just for testing purposes but i think i have narrowed it down to my reg files but dont quiet know which one it is
If you would like to see it let me know i will upload it

I finally found the problem, It was a line in my tweaks app.reg.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\GSensor]
"PollingInterval"=dword:0000000a
I also found out if you change this setting using a app like Advanced Config, you get the same problem. I think it has something to do with build 23569 as when i was using build 23568 i did not have this problem.

Answering calls delay

There is a 2 sec delay between hitting the "ANSWER" key and getting/starting to send my voice to caller.
It's annoying that i have to wait about 2 seckonds till i can say HEY.
What program can i use to remove this annoying bug
or can i just use other kind of phone software?
(i used phonex and it was faster, delay was about 0,5 sec)
By default, there's a 3 sec delay between hitting the END key and dropping the call,
that can be adjusted by advanced configuration tool. set mine to 0 sec.

Would it be possible to put up a link to advanced config tool software that you are using?
I can't seem to find the setting on v2 and v3.0+ wont work because of some .net framework problem.
Thanks
http://julien.schapman.free.fr/touchxperience/advanced-configuration-tool.php
h2kk, do you happen to have any idea whats the "keyboard layout" which is default: custom ? Is it the onscreen or hardware keyboard?
Seems like no one cares about the MOST IMPORTANT feature: PHONE
Beleive it or not, lots of people use X1 to make and receive calls,
and if that feature is buggy, then, i'd rather have that fixed, than use touch flow from htc hd.
Or is there a thread somewhere and i just don't seem to find it?

Have you tried searching rather than expect someone to do your work for you.
Ive just typed "call delay after answer" into the search and come up with this lot.
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=000825...nswer&sa=Search&cof=FORID:0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
There's a lot of discussion over this on loads of different phones, some people believe it's the processor struggling, (too many progs running etc) but I'd hope not with a device this quick,
I haven't had this happen to me yet, touch wood etc...
others seem to think it's a variety of things, you could try this.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallProgressIdleTimeout"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting]
"EndCallTime"=dword:00000000
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109
Fix described in the link above was for Windows Mobile 5, but hopefully it will do the trick for you. Let me know if it works.. If so, I'll use it when my phone arrives!!

Should the "CallProgressIdleTimeout" value be predefined in the registry? Because for me it wasn't there. I created an object an set it to "0000" but it didn't help anything. I still have approximately 1,5 seconds delay after hitting the answer-button before the call gets connected.

nah dont use that one, it's for the delay in the phone ringing, but will mess a few things up soundwise on the X1 I think.

I actually searched and didn't find a solution.
Tried google again but all the results lead nowhere.
Also i have allready changed my registry (don't have the callprogressidletimeout though)
Rahul3000
This fix only makes the phone ring instantly, that's not our problem here.
I'll say it again. The reason why i started this thread is:
When i used Phonex software, then answering calls was a lot faster
I'm willing to uninstall the default dialer/phone application (still don't know how to do that)
and use phonex or any other fast piece of software. (phonex freezes my phone)

What phone skin/dialer are you using ? the stock SE one?
you can revert to the default WM one by changing this key.
hklm/security/phone/skin/enabled to 0 and reboot.
try that, if it changes things then it might be worth changing the caches as the both the manilla (tf3d) and SE dialler take up a fair bit of memory, what do you have those set at?
I'm quite interested in what's causing it, as I don't have this problem on my phone
Phonex looks quite nice,

[HELP] Cannot answer calls with Duttys R10 WM6.5 ROM and S2U2 v2.04

This appears to be a problem for some people but not others. I cannot find a definite fix on the posts I have read, hoping someone has found a working solution, so started a thread for just this issue.
I have just installed Dutty's R10 WM6.5 ROM on my Touch HD, and only have that and S2U2 version 2.04 installed on top, and whenever I get an incoming call when the screen is locked, the call comes through fine, caller ID and all but I cannot answer it. WHen I go to slide to answer, the S2U2 app and the dialers own slide screen is fighting for priority. I seem to be able to answer on occasion if I repeatedly tap the answer hardware key, but this doesn't always work.
I have tried swapping the settings around, and disabling the S2A, but then the other green and red keys appear and still cannot answer. Also tried the suggestion of adding S2U2 to the boitouch exemptions list in the registry with no success.
Anyone had the same issues and fixed or knows of a patch or workaround?

Same here. I may have found a workaround.
Just disable Caller ID on S2U2 and let the 6.5 handle incoming calls with Caller ID.
I tested, seem to work fine for me. You should try it and feedback here.
Yes, disabling the Caller ID from within S2U" worked, fantastic!!!
Does anyone know why the Caller ID now doesn't work using Duttys R10 and S2U2? Previous ROMs (think they were all WM6.1 though) have worked..

Probably just the updated WM base used. These OEM's keep moving and it's prbably hard for AC to keep up with S2U2.
glad you found a fix....
I was in a similar boat... I have a T8285 for use of 3g in US, but I cant answer incoming calls when i leave the phone with 3g on and locked when the call is received. just passes the call to be missed, all the while i keep sliding the bar to answer. the hotfix from htc made it worse... just made the dialer screen all screwy.
I posted the problem in both miri and dutty threads that are of which i use, but neither are the actual culprit.
sooo I tried S2U2 and disabled caller id, as suggested in this thread, but this didnt fix it. after searching for weeks, i've been stuck leaving my phone on edge.
sorry for the sob story. i envy that you fixed something and i haven't lol.

A number of HTC hotfixes had similar affect with my phone, i.e. made dialer all screwed up. I generally don't use them as they get implemented into the latest roms anyhow.
Which rom are you using at present? Have you tried posting your query into the S2U2 thread. Your most likely going to get more accurate response from someone who uses that software

S2u2 is new to me, so I haven't had the chance; I'll check that dedicated thread shortly.
Currently I use miri WM 6.5 23009. I've posted in that rom development thread and read it almost thoroughly (1K+ pages!).
If you turn on "windows dialer" instead "slide to answer" everything works fine even with "caller ID-> ON".The only thing with windows dialer you can't see the call history in dialer but if you use call history button the history shows fine.
I'm using duttys6.5 r9 turbo
Solved.
Hello
With new S2U2 version 2.12 is solved. Even with htc dialer, even with Caller ID, etc.
I had the same problem with Rom 6.5. But now is ok.
Regards.
Cure.

Phone dialer issue

Hi,
Device: Blackstone
Kitchen: EVK
SYS:24006
EXT: Leo 2.10
OS: Win6.5
I have been trying to cook a dialer with video calling support.
I cooked in the dialer, PhoneCanvas_3_50_36045_0.
The dialer does show 3g calling and conference.
But the issues starts once i receive a call.
If i slide to ignore the call, the dialer lags like 5 sec, before i am back to the home screen.
Then, if i turn off the screen, then call is not received. The phone does not even ring.
However once i turn on the screen, it shows a notification, that i have missed a call.
Then once again i switch off the screen, i receive call but the same thing with ignore.
If it might be of any help, i left out PhoneExt_Service.dll from cooking.
not sure, if that is what is the reason behind the problem.
Solution tried:
Hard reset after flashing
Soft reset
No application installed.
Rotastrain Rhodium dialer for all
anyone know any solution for this...
Does HD supports Video calling? i mean does it has front camera? i dont think it is an issue from the Dialer... but you can try the Stock HTC dialer from the original ROM

thanks rambo.
been busy with my exams so could not reply back earlier.
video calling works great, and i even mange to fix the caller idea issue.
but a new one has popped up...
when i dc a call, the dialer hangs/lags, like seriously it takes 5-10 sec for it go away.
however this is happening most of the time.
i fixed the registry entry to end the call after like 1 sec, coz 0sec sometimes creates problem, but of no use.
i think i am missing some packs.
anyone faced a similar issue earlier
i would really appreciate if someone can help me out with this.

[MOD] Remap off button to hangup calls too...

Hi,
It seems that the time it takes to disable the light sensor during a call is slow, and would quite like to turn off the button off the call as well, without needing to touch the screen to do so.
What do you think?
Thanks to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740629
I find a way to do that
Just add this line:
Key 116 ENDCALL
and if you want to wake up device with end key too:
Key 116 ENDCALL WAKE
in file: /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
This works with mattc 1.5 builds, and other using old kernel, news kernel have this feature allready
Have a nice day!

It's not needed because it's already fixed in the kernel git. You need only to compile a new kernel.

Hey Caedanne - I attempted to use Astro to add the relevant key input to file, but - like another poster here, the file was saved at 0kb (it became a blank file).
Upon reboot - as I feared would happen - my hardware keys became non-functional.
Could you therefore please just let us know step by step how you edited the file using Astro (I used edit - open as text file - then edited it and saved it) - was there something I missed here?
If anyone else could tell me/us how to edit the file properly (either via a desktop computer or - more preferably - within the phone itself, it would be greatly appreciated).
Thank you.
Um, Maybe I'm missunderstanding something. Using Darkstone V2, all I had to do was set the end call button to also end calls in the settings. I just tested it by calling my voice mail, I hit the end call button and it will end my call. It will also lock my screen and unlock it.
Is this what you guys are trying to achieve? Or am I missing the big picture here.

I think you only need to touch screen " End Call"

[Q] Anyway to make the end button/lock button actually end a call?

I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but when I ring someone and I press the end key, it just turns the screen off and locks the phone with the phone call still going on in the back ground.
Is there anyway to make this button actually end the call?
BTW thanks to all the chefs for making android possible on the HTC HD2

i think he is joking this option will be in the next kernal
In sense builds there is no this option.I think because htc desire, doesnot have endkey button. But if you use latest kernel compiled by michyprima http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756513 the endkey works without the need to set something in settings.
