[HELP] Cannot answer calls with Duttys R10 WM6.5 ROM and S2U2 v2.04 - Touch HD General

This appears to be a problem for some people but not others. I cannot find a definite fix on the posts I have read, hoping someone has found a working solution, so started a thread for just this issue.
I have just installed Dutty's R10 WM6.5 ROM on my Touch HD, and only have that and S2U2 version 2.04 installed on top, and whenever I get an incoming call when the screen is locked, the call comes through fine, caller ID and all but I cannot answer it. WHen I go to slide to answer, the S2U2 app and the dialers own slide screen is fighting for priority. I seem to be able to answer on occasion if I repeatedly tap the answer hardware key, but this doesn't always work.
I have tried swapping the settings around, and disabling the S2A, but then the other green and red keys appear and still cannot answer. Also tried the suggestion of adding S2U2 to the boitouch exemptions list in the registry with no success.
Anyone had the same issues and fixed or knows of a patch or workaround?

Same here. I may have found a workaround.
Just disable Caller ID on S2U2 and let the 6.5 handle incoming calls with Caller ID.
I tested, seem to work fine for me. You should try it and feedback here.

Yes, disabling the Caller ID from within S2U" worked, fantastic!!!
Does anyone know why the Caller ID now doesn't work using Duttys R10 and S2U2? Previous ROMs (think they were all WM6.1 though) have worked..

Probably just the updated WM base used. These OEM's keep moving and it's prbably hard for AC to keep up with S2U2.

glad you found a fix....
I was in a similar boat... I have a T8285 for use of 3g in US, but I cant answer incoming calls when i leave the phone with 3g on and locked when the call is received. just passes the call to be missed, all the while i keep sliding the bar to answer. the hotfix from htc made it worse... just made the dialer screen all screwy.
I posted the problem in both miri and dutty threads that are of which i use, but neither are the actual culprit.
sooo I tried S2U2 and disabled caller id, as suggested in this thread, but this didnt fix it. after searching for weeks, i've been stuck leaving my phone on edge.
sorry for the sob story. i envy that you fixed something and i haven't lol.

A number of HTC hotfixes had similar affect with my phone, i.e. made dialer all screwed up. I generally don't use them as they get implemented into the latest roms anyhow.
Which rom are you using at present? Have you tried posting your query into the S2U2 thread. Your most likely going to get more accurate response from someone who uses that software

S2u2 is new to me, so I haven't had the chance; I'll check that dedicated thread shortly.
Currently I use miri WM 6.5 23009. I've posted in that rom development thread and read it almost thoroughly (1K+ pages!).

If you turn on "windows dialer" instead "slide to answer" everything works fine even with "caller ID-> ON".The only thing with windows dialer you can't see the call history in dialer but if you use call history button the history shows fine.
I'm using duttys6.5 r9 turbo

Solved.
Hello
With new S2U2 version 2.12 is solved. Even with htc dialer, even with Caller ID, etc.
I had the same problem with Rom 6.5. But now is ok.
Regards.
Cure.

Caller ID not working

I swear that my caller ID used to work on my Verizon XV6800 when I first got the phone about a week ago. Then I started installing apps and messing with HTC plugins and now I cant seem to get any of my contacts to show up when a call is made. I know the phone is able to differentiate between contacts, because the ringers are different per contact, but not every contact has a unique ring.
I have installed:
HTC Home
HTC Audio manager
HTC Tray App
HTC Album
HTC Home Customizer from emunutz
PocketCM Contact Manager
Various SPB apps
I havent listed the SPB apps, because Caller ID was working after those programs were added and only seemed to stop after I installed the HTC stuff. Does anyone know if any of the above programs would interfere with the caller id functions? I cannot seem to find any setting in any of the programs that turns CID on/off. I have tried to edit the registry CallIDMatch DWORD value, to no avail. I am at a loss here, and I really dont want to have to reset the phone to get this to work again. Please help if you can. Thanks!

Did you find a solution to this? I'm havimg the same problem too. I installed the latest ROM for Titan and I don't get call ID either.
It works now after a complete wipe and reinstall of all the software. I havent gone as far as to put a different ROM on it yet, though I want to enable the GPS. It must have been some weird random thing that occured during a software install or something, because it works perfectly now. Sorry I cant be of more definitive help.

Had no caller id on xv6800 on VZW after upgrading from stock to dcd 3.2.6 (and having VZW re-authorize). After many soft / hard resets, reinstall verizon cab, many *228 #1, *228 #2, reinstalled all three roms (tried just dcd 3.2.6, didn't work). Nervously (had 3.2.6 still installed, didn't want to flash back to VZW stock ROMS) called VZW to ask them to "check" caller id... it was "on", but nice lady unchecked it (said VZW would mail letter since I discontinued caller id service) and rechecked it... no *228 or anything... NOW it works just fine! 20 hours of google/ registry / software fiddling (I HAD the GPS working great), and "the authorization sometimes messes that up." !!!

PhonEx iconsoft phone extender (freezes phone)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2874969
thread in HTC Diamond subforum.
Tried this one on my Xperia and well,
when i get incoming call and press answer key, it starts transmitting my voice faster then original Xperia phone program,
but it has no feature to fast search for contacts by typing numbers in.
And it freezes my phone, when i have Phonex open (when i search for contacts or other) and i try to call someone, the call goes through, but instantly freezes my phone, so i have to take battery out.
Problem might be that i haven't uninstalled the original phone program, but i don't know how to do that.
I started to wonder, what program is the FASTEST for answering incomming calls ? Any ideas?
Btw, i'm new in this forum, so HEY!
I have Xperia and i want to get the most out of it.
I had HTC Diamond but didn't like it, so i returned it after 6 days of using it.

& when it starts the first time to be loaded in memory, I have a crappy screen
Who has also these issues, otherwise, it is a really beautifull application, if soemone has a workaround for my issues, I will buy a license I think.... I already reported these issues to IconSoft
I have the same problem

Ouf, I fill more confident to know that I am not the only one guy having this issue
By the way, I hope that IconSoft will fix quickly these two bugs & that you have also reported this issue. More they will receive feedbacks on this issue, more they will be able to classify the urgency level of fixing it. For sure, if they fix these two issues, I feel this product as the next winner apps on WinMo....
I also have the same problem with my HTC Touch Pro (Rapheal) with Phonex 1.2 when pressing the phone button. Got it to work temporarily but turning on inesofts dialer then OFF then going back into phonex settings and saving, but its speractic. still hangs.. Great new features in 1.2 but this hanging issue is getting on my nerves.. They just need to work on these two issue ALONE and not try to add more features and release a rev with these fixes.
I am using it for a long time and very impressed of quick and smooth work, very useful application!
In my experience, the Touch HD Blackstone Dialer (here is a lot faster than the Xperia dialer although you have to slide to answer.
Haven't tried any other dialers.
FYI: I had decided to hard reset to see if Phonex 1.2 would exhibit the same behavior, it did not. THen I restored from sprite backup and began uninstalling apps and or disabling them, Today I discovered after disabling memaid (DinarSoft) service / auto start that implimented its speed enhancements for memory on reboot low and behold PhoneX 1.2 Did NOT Hang any more..
I have not tried rebooting again to be sure it stayed stable, but thought I'd mention it..
Also I UNinstalled Mortscript and related scripts I had running.
Would be interesting to see those of you who do have the problem were running these or similar applications and if disabling them resolved the problem.
Good Luck..
High CPU usage
HI,
I have another problem with the 1.2 release on my Xperia. After installing 1.2 my battery drains much faster. After a look in MemMaid I see that PhonEx.exe is between 3,5-9% CPU usage 90% of the times I check.
I have talked to Iconsoft and the are aware of the problem om some devices and it will be fixed in next release.
Next release (1.3) is scheduled for release within 1-2 weeks which is good news. They also mentioned that some new features will be implemented, like "Slide to unlock" in the caller ID screen, jippi
id agree with xperian above , the hd dialler is a better alternative.
as is the yota dialler (which unfortunately doesnt have slide to answer)
i tried this app and didnt like it, i also dont like their cheap and nasty attempt at marketing by encouraging users to spam forums

Answering calls delay

There is a 2 sec delay between hitting the "ANSWER" key and getting/starting to send my voice to caller.
It's annoying that i have to wait about 2 seckonds till i can say HEY.
What program can i use to remove this annoying bug
or can i just use other kind of phone software?
(i used phonex and it was faster, delay was about 0,5 sec)
By default, there's a 3 sec delay between hitting the END key and dropping the call,
that can be adjusted by advanced configuration tool. set mine to 0 sec.

Would it be possible to put up a link to advanced config tool software that you are using?
I can't seem to find the setting on v2 and v3.0+ wont work because of some .net framework problem.
Thanks

h2kk, do you happen to have any idea whats the "keyboard layout" which is default: custom ? Is it the onscreen or hardware keyboard?
Seems like no one cares about the MOST IMPORTANT feature: PHONE
Beleive it or not, lots of people use X1 to make and receive calls,
and if that feature is buggy, then, i'd rather have that fixed, than use touch flow from htc hd.
Or is there a thread somewhere and i just don't seem to find it?

Have you tried searching rather than expect someone to do your work for you.
Ive just typed "call delay after answer" into the search and come up with this lot.
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=000825...nswer&sa=Search&cof=FORID:0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
There's a lot of discussion over this on loads of different phones, some people believe it's the processor struggling, (too many progs running etc) but I'd hope not with a device this quick,
I haven't had this happen to me yet, touch wood etc...
others seem to think it's a variety of things, you could try this.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallProgressIdleTimeout"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting]
"EndCallTime"=dword:00000000

Fix described in the link above was for Windows Mobile 5, but hopefully it will do the trick for you. Let me know if it works.. If so, I'll use it when my phone arrives!!

Should the "CallProgressIdleTimeout" value be predefined in the registry? Because for me it wasn't there. I created an object an set it to "0000" but it didn't help anything. I still have approximately 1,5 seconds delay after hitting the answer-button before the call gets connected.

nah dont use that one, it's for the delay in the phone ringing, but will mess a few things up soundwise on the X1 I think.

I actually searched and didn't find a solution.
Tried google again but all the results lead nowhere.
Also i have allready changed my registry (don't have the callprogressidletimeout though)

This fix only makes the phone ring instantly, that's not our problem here.
I'll say it again. The reason why i started this thread is:
When i used Phonex software, then answering calls was a lot faster
I'm willing to uninstall the default dialer/phone application (still don't know how to do that)
and use phonex or any other fast piece of software. (phonex freezes my phone)

What phone skin/dialer are you using ? the stock SE one?
you can revert to the default WM one by changing this key.
hklm/security/phone/skin/enabled to 0 and reboot.
try that, if it changes things then it might be worth changing the caches as the both the manilla (tf3d) and SE dialler take up a fair bit of memory, what do you have those set at?
I'm quite interested in what's causing it, as I don't have this problem on my phone
Phonex looks quite nice,

Hotfix HTC e-club

Hi,new patchs are available :
- Hot fix for resolving a display flicker of the title bar in TouchFLO 3D 2009-01-07
- Hot fix for improving the on-screen slider feature for answering calls 2009-01-07
this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468399
the slide to answer hotfix already declared not only useless but also harming. see here the solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468608
even the clowns at HTC realized that the fix is doing more damage than good and they "make it disappear".
hope nobody else jumped to install this fix (if it is still there). a short search before post is highly recommended, no matter how good yr intentions are.
Those seem to be new fixes, anyone tried them yet?
I just did a filecompare on the original file I still had and the new "_HTC Touch HD_TouchHD_display flicker.exe", they are identical.
I don't have the original _HTC Touch HD_Touch HD_SlidingAnswer.exe anymore so I can't check that, did HTC actually fix the bug in it?
Theres original 1/7 published fix if someone wants to compare it to version wich is on htc support now.
If you want i can make a clean install cab with all correct fixes incl. without the unnecc. reg entries incl. uninstall.
let me know if you want this.
for now. here are all relevant files from all 3 fixes as zip
!!PLS: but as you know, the "videocall button switch to call histroy bug" is there inside and isn't fixed !
These belongs to file:"phcanhtc.dll" !!
So my tip - copy all files (exclusive "phcanhtc.dll") to your windows dir and let me know how it works and if a cab for it is neccesary.

I actually like that feature never really did use the video calling feature
I can dial video phone
Yesterday, I installed the hot fix of "Hot fix for improving the on-screen slider feature for answering calls."
And I check the video call function, it's normal~
I didn't see "call history" on the left bottom. I also ask my friend to help to check it. His Blackstone is normal. We both can dail video phone.
Did I miss something or the HTC hot fix is fixed?
http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=179&act=sd&cat=all
Yeap, HTC re-released a working version of the patch at the end of last week.
They have indeed fixed the hot fix. The one that's there now works fine. If you installed the old "fix" you can just install the new one on top of it - no need to uninstall
I've been trying to insyall the slider fix and it tells me I have the incorrect version. I just uninstalled the old version and installed the new fresh from the site. Any ideas?

[SOLVED] Problem with dailer and call history

Hi Guys,
I'm currently working on a Sense 2.5 ROM for my beloved X1 and most things work out quite good. I am using Manila Core 2022 and everything else (ecxept people) 2021. WM build is 29007.
Anyway the problem is as folows: If I make a call, it's not beeing logged in call history. If I miss a call, it's not in there as well, additionally I don't see the Icon in the taskbare notifying mee of the missed call. If I recieve a call, the dailer hangs sometimes and refuses to answer it. If it's shown at all, becouse more often I don't even see the call. If I successfully made/recieved a call, the dailer hangs for about 1-2 seconds and nothing responds.
I tried different dailers right now, all of them used to work perfectly in other builds with/and without sense. For that reason I think it might not be related to the dailer at all... What else could it be?
Thanks a lot for your your help!
EDIT: anyone who need to solfe this problem please look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7371585&postcount=2
Bump. No one?
For now I do have two suspects:
1) Build
2) One of the Oboe Packages.
OK, I think I got it fixed. The Problem was related to the 29007 build. I just swapped some older packages in and everything is going fine
EDIT: I was wrong. I still don't know whether it is Build or package realted...

Can you please elaborate the fix so that others will know
Thanks.
Sorry, I was wrong (unfortunately), the bug is still present. I have nearly no clue, whats wrong here :-(
Changed the title of the thread again
Elaborated further: I could reproduce the following:
When I open a contact card (HTC or WinMo, doesn't matter) and dail a number directly from there it does not get logged into the call history. The question now is: is it build related or are there any HTC tweaks responsible for that?
The problem appear regardless whether i have a Sense ROM or a "nonsense" ROM, so the people Tab (which was my first suspect) cannot be responsible for that!
Anyone any Idea? Who else has cooked some 29007 ROM?
To finish that topic: I found a package called "dailer fix" in here somewhere. It contains a older or modified cprog.exe (the dailer) and some registry files. Apparently that fixed the problem.
As far as I understood the newer versions of WinMo Builds have a different place to store the call history that the older ones but HTC's tools (dailer, Manila call history, etc) have the old places hardcoded inside. So using simply an older cprog.exe seems to have fixed that.
