Eighter I red over it, OR…and I hope not, I am the only one with this problem….
I just got my HTC HD MINI, and my Sense software always reboots when scrolling through pictures.
It restarts the begin screen, same as when you boot up the phone, first blank with message “starting sense” and then goes to the begin screen (The one with clock not back to picture menu where the problem starts).
I also had the Maniala.exe error, but that doesn’t come back when this happens…It this sense reboot related to the Manila error???

Try hardreset, even if this not help, send it back. In my company, we had one with problems in the fav. contact list, phone got´s very slow (takes 2mins to open contacs), hard reset doesn´t help, so we send it back, must be a hardware or software defect.
Indeed, already tried hard reset (both ways), no effect on this problem...

The problem is solved!
For future use:
The error accrued when scrolling in pictures. These pictures where on a mini sd card used by my previous phone, even do this also was a HTC phone…
Just a quick format of the sd card solved the issue.
Must have been a format of name giving problem that is not compatible with the hd mini

I 'm now using 2 gb of memory. When i turn off my screen for a moment and trun on the screen. There is nothing comming up. I have to reset my hermes. Pls advise..what 's wrong ? Before i used 1 gb of memory, i never seen this problem.One thing i use calendar plus on the today screen.
After selling my Wizard to get the Hermes, I have discovered that the Hermes is a VERY unstable device.
I have experienced (and still do sometimes) what you are experiencing. From what I can see, this is normal for this device. If this continues, I'll have to sell this and get something else. The other day my device did this and I called it from my house phone to see if it would even ring, and it did not. I guess I could live with the PDA locking up, but if it interferes with the devices primary function as a phone, it's totally unacceptable.
jcute, i was having this problem for a bit, but my issue only occured when it was on the charger and i temporarily shut off the screen, it would then not turn on and would have to softreset every time
i noticed this problem occuring after installing some software including weather software (cant recall exactly which) and skype, not sure which one was the main problem but wasnt using either hence their uninstall and correcting of the problem
good luck, try removing some recently installd software and seeing if the problem persists and perhaps try removing the microsd card and running ur phone without it for a bit to see if the problem is the card
time for rom upgrade ?
thanks for info. I tried to unplug micro sd 2 gb and press power button again ..it 's work !!after that i plugin micro sd again but some icon 's missing at the today screen. Ex. resco today icon , psshutdown, photo contact.....So the question is that i have to do this everytime when screen 's off???
After upgrading to AKU 3.3 and installing my programs only to the main memory, I've noticed far fewer lockups as opposed to before when I ran many programs such as Pocket Player or GPRS monitor from my 2gb sandisk.
I guess the moral of the story is, try not to install programs that access your memory card while your phone is in sleep mode.

I would not get a Hermes if I wanted it to be a phone primarily. IMHO most of these devices XDAs, are primarily PDAs with a phone tacked on.

my problem is when i scroll or drag the side bar too fast (inside memory card),the device will hang and need to soft reset.
can anybody solve this problem??
Goto www.softwinter.com and try out storage tools. I've found that a regular repair and defrag help the load times from the storage card tremendously. Also, someone mentioned above that reformating your storage card with fat32 helps and I too can confirm that. Let us know if that helps or not.

one more thing, when i reset my hermes, it hangs at the welcome screen. I always get this problem.
As weird as it may sound, my prophet is not loading up successfully since this morning. It was working well until last night and for no reason seems to have lost it's way.
I see the Splash screen with the IPL / SPL etc. information and then it proceeds into the blue Windows Mobile Screen (Windows loading screen) and doesn't get any further.
Has anyone faced a similar problem earlier and have a resolution to it. I do not want to Hard Reset my device at the moment.
I had this problem last time but it worked after n soft resets. I'm sure today I have far exceeded that number n in doing a soft reset on my device. Any help is appreciated.

Feasibility of a probable solution
Read this solution on another forum and thought of bringing it up for discussion here.
It said that these PDA phones have backup power source probably as a battery / capacitor to store ROM data in absence of the main battery. In case of situations like mine where the boot sequence is probably hitting a deadlock or some other problem , it might work to drain the back up battery / capacitor completely.
This might force the PDA to look for a fresh boot sequence or default.
Is this a possibility ? Do the senior members / experts here believe or know anything about this. I feel it's worth a discussion, if so.

I had almost the same problem and I guess you maight have done the same mistake.Have you newly installed any weather forcasting programs which install some plugins into your TODAY SCREEN?If yes,it is the one which is responsible for your failure.(Many of plugin installers in today screen may cause the sme problem)
Hope you can succeed with resolving it.

I did install the HTC Home Plugin but I'm also sure that did not cause the problem cause I had it running great for about 3 weeks now. The last software I tried installing on my device was Merriam-Websters pocket pc dictionary. It had some flash card feature which ran at start up and to my surprise the morning (without restart) before my cell went into the struggling mode. But unless it reloads itself, I cannot do anything about any of the softwares.
How did you resolve the same problem with your device. Did you also have to do hard reset ?

I have tried with and without the SD Card - that had got my prophet working last time I had this problem but unfortunately, this time not. I even tried pulling it off at different intervals while the cell is stuck in the load mode, but to no luck.

Actually,I installed a POCKET WEATHER, a weather forecasting program which installs some plugins on today sceern.Then my problems with the device(same as your)started to appear.I waited for 2 or three days,but finally I found the solution in removing it from my device.Once I deleted it,my device returned back to its great condition that it had before.I guess, you should ignore and put away those programs which leave a trace in today screen.Don't ask me why(Cause I don't know that much!!! )but I heard about some subsequent problems with your rom's cash, or something.You'd better removing them and I hope they will help you to solve the problem.
I did not have any luck and had to hard reset my device. I had not done it even once since I brought this handset about a year ago and am only glad to have done this now. Just realised how slow my device was working with all the software installs and uninstalls I had experimented with it over the year.
I did loose some data - but in the end a fair trade off.
hard reset keys dont work
Hi! i got the same problem, i installed an updated TouchFlo in my phone, but it hangs at start up, so i tryed to hard reset the phone, BUT my phone is a chinese clone of pharos 3470 / dopod P660 and the hard reset keys dont work (camera + power + reset) i have been trying diferent combinations of keys but i cant find any solution.
does anyone know a possible way to hard reset a phone?
i did it before, but from inside the windows settings and it worked well, but i cant do it with the keys, and i cant get in windows settings when it is stucked at startup

i am a ardent fan of this site and a regular visitor since i brought my htc touch hd, i am living in Australia bought the phone when i went to India last month. this is my very first windows mobile, the phone was working like a charm till the time i accidentally reset the phone by clicking clear storage. i thought it was like emptying the recycle bin in windows vista, the phone asked me to type the numbers from 1 to 4 which i did and everything changed from that time. the phone is abnormally slow and often hangs, leting me down when i need it. of late i am not able to sync the phone with the system as it is not getting recognized my sd card.ophra does not work as like most of the applications. i tried to format my 8 gb sd card which came along the phone, but the fate is still the same. will a hard reset help me?

Yes, you should try a hard reset. Remember to backup any data that you have entered in the phone, hopefully you will be able to sync to do that. If I understand, you deleted the 'internal storage', am I right? Maybe some programs are storing executables, DLL files or other stuff there and all of them stopped working when you 'cleared' storage. Btw, where is that 'clear storage' option in the menu?
It's in System Settings I think.

yeah its the one found in settings under the tab system, i think i did a hard reset by do it. thats what i found from the forums, while i was reading a few hours back. i dont know what to do now, also read it some where that installing .net 3.5 and change the settings using a reg editor, later install sd card tune up cab will improve the performance considerably. which registry editor do you suggest? thanks for your replies....
I had similar issue with my Touch HD, but it happend after i took a picture (one of many) with the camera. I did a hard reset, but that did not help. Try removing the SD card, because in my case the problem was that something had gone wrong with that picture and the phone could not read it properly and display it in the Photos and Videos section ot the TouchFlo 3D (or at least that what I think was the reason ). Anyway, that worked for me - glad if it works for you too.
P.S. Forget to mention that after deleting that picture (with SD card reader - I could not do it in the File Explorer on Touch HD) everything went back to normal.
omg i solved my problem atlast....... thanks to all who gave me suggestions about this problem. i hard reset the phone after formating my sd card. now the phone runs like a wild horse...faster than before.

I installed WP7 on my HD2 a couple of months ago and all has been going well (except for the reboot issue which is a known SD card problem!!). However since yesterday I have been unable to access any of the contacts on my phone.
When on the home screen, if I select the "people" widget I get a blank screen for a second then it returns me to the home screen. If I try to send a message and type in the persons name in my contact list, no matches are displayed in the To bar. I have tried different ways to access my people contacts but it always returns me to the home screen?!?!
The annoying thing is I know my contacts are still on the phone. When I get a phone call/text message it displays my contacts name on the screen?!?!
Has anyone ever come across this error before and if so how do i get around it???

I am having this same issue as well. This is my second time having this problem. First time I managed to fix it by pulling everything out of my phone and reinserting them (sd, SIM, battery). Now everything I try doesn't seem to work either. I might just have to re-flash.
its probably worth reflashing, try using a different SD card or for a quick test reflash without the SD card, you wont be able to install much and it will be slow but it will give you an idea if its the SD or not

my problem is when I'm making clip with my HTC HD2, running MDJs_CyanogenMod7_v.2.6_NAND_A2SD_ on it. The problem is when I push the "stop" button on the screen and then the phone crashes. The clip is not saved, but there's a file (broken) that appears. I think this may be from my SD card- 16gb...
I've had this happen before after taking a lot of pictures during a birthday party. I made a back up of my phone and reinstalled my ROM and also changed my SD card. Not sure which helped but i didnt have a problem with it after that.
