Control Desire from PC - Desire Themes and Apps

Is there any app available that will allow me to control my Desire from my PC (via b/tooth or usb cable connection)? I've seen VNC suggested, but can only find VNC Clients for Android that go in the opposite direction (control PC from Desire). VNC Server for Android?

I know this is not exactly what you are asking for, but maybe this app will be of interest http://www.appbrain.com/app/net.xdevelop.rm

i've been looking for something similar that doesn't involve installing the android jdk. if you don't mind this might be of use to you :
http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/

Search the market for droid vnc server. I know this thread is a year old but that app is handy for anyone that found this thread using google like I did.
Cheers,

Check team viewer or unified remote

NOT EVEN remotely helpful. Why comment if you have nothing substantial to add to the original post?

Laughs of laughter!

Best RDP for Tab

What's the best RDP app you guys are using with the Tab to connect to your Windows PC ?
Oh btw it seems most of the RDP apps are not free... Not willing to be a pain, but even if you ahve to pay for WM 6.5 it has a free excellent RDP client...
Im using VNC and it work very well over 3G and WiFi. Im using Dyndns.com to connect over 3G.
You can get it from the mrket

Tried the wyse lite version, seems ok, the virtual mouse is useful.
It does not support 1024x600 in the free version, anyone know if the paid version does?

I just took the plunge yesterday and got the paid version - it doesn't explicitly support 1024x600 res, but it does have an "automatic" selection which essentially sets the resolution to 1024x600. It's a great app...$15 is a bit steep for an app, but its extremely well put together and Wyse is a very reputable company.
By and far the best RDP tool on Android at this time.
Wyse PocketCloud is my favorite.

PocketCloud is very good. You can also try Xtralogic Remote desktop client 2.08, that I prefer

I read good things about both. What makes you prefer Xtralogic ?
PocketCloud is my favourite.Theres a free Version, which only supports one Connection (PC).
I have been using logmein for a while now and it always felt like it wasnt designed for my tab. I tried PocketCloud and fell in love. Free version works well enough.

(Q) Maverick meerkat?

Any chance we'll see a vnc of this os? I know it was done on the samsung epic which obviously is far less hardware than this beast right here . Big ubuntu fan, as I'm hoping most of us are here. I'd love to help with this project, just don't know where to start. I'm assuming that we need SD enabled first though.

do you mean get ubuntu on the Xoom? or VNC to ubuntu?
I don't think you know what VNC is.

On my epic, I was able to use androidvnc to boot up ubuntu with a server login and such after I placed the file on my SD. So i am quite aware what vnc is in reference to this thread. Either way, i'd be stoked. Vnc is probably easier than finding a way to partition then dual boot, but lagginess and quality will be sacrificed. I was just curious as to how to get this done. Asking for help, not snide remarks
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
A vnc client simply connects to a vnc server (running on almost any operating system) to display over the network. So I am confused as to why you would need storage space, or to 'boot up' anything on the xoom.
There are VNC apps on the market, have you tried them?
Vnc itself has nothing to do with running another OS inside another OS.

It is possible, and I have successfully done it. It is not very useful though. But we are not always interested in usefulness, now are we?
Anyway, google "Desire HD Linux" and I believe it is one of the first, if not the first, links. Similar method geared toward the Desire HD, which is almost identical to our device internally. It works.
Question, but isn't that just VNC?

i'm pretty sure vnc just lets you view your computer at home, or view your screen when you're away.
Do you even know why you would want Ubuntu? Is it for the GUI, our for a better bash shell?
If you look around (I accidentally found this only a week ago) you can find Debian images for the android that they have had out since the G1. And they work on the MT4G.

now the real shocker would be if we could put windows mobile on our mt4g or dual boot either 2 android roms or windows mobile and android.

Yes, it uses VNC. It is used since there are no video drivers available for Linux on this platform, which is difficult due to the lack of code/documentation from Qualcomm. Ubuntu is actually running on the phone's hardware through a chroot shell, and VNC connects to the local host via a socket connection to provide the display. Just a way for the display to be displayed, if you will.

Control, view camera output from computer over USB

I would like to show the camera screen of my Atrix on my Windows computer via the USB, so that I can start/stop recording using my computer.

How to control my desktop PC with my S4?

I always wanted to know that. Is there any way to mirror my desktop's screen to my S4 and then control it? I tried Unified remote, you can just control some stuffs there, but I want something which could mirror my PC's screen, is that possible?
VNC or RDP
Server in one side and the other side is client
You can do it both ways
And you can do it from one mobile to control another mobile too or any other platform
It's possible to do it far remotley by port forwarding in router settings .....
I try it once and its was fun
I was thinking to do a tutorial about that one day
Sent from dish washer
Use phone to PC or the popular splash top.
I recommend splash top as it has it uses your wifi as a intranet so there is very little delay even with a wireless G router

Hey guys sorry for BUMP after a long time.
I have been using Splashtop as per above suggestions and I am very happy with it.
But now I need an app which will do the opposite, I mean I need something which will show my S4's screen to my laptop / PC, and I will be able to control the phone from there, is there any such app?
I have tried AirDroid, don't like it. It shows very limited apps, can't reply to WhatsApp / Hangout messages! Then I tried Team Viewer, didn't do the job either.
TIA.
